During the heat of summer, unfortunately I started having AC issues. I was very fortunate over the past 18 years and had no AC problems and had very little need or interactions with HVAC contractors. After talking to a few companies, they immediately said I needed to replace my air conditioning unit with its age and older type of refrigerant. Faced with having to replace my air conditioner, a family friend referred me to Air Tech Cary. He has known Bob Tasovac for many years. Bob was extremely prompt calling me back and responding out to my home. I was ready to hear what every other contractor has told me, replace the unit. Bob came over and spoke very honestly and it became very evident that he wasn't just trying to screw us over. He was different from any other contractor that I had met thus far. He tried 2 separate times over the summer, charging the system, at a much more reasonable rate than all other contractors I had spoke with. Unfortunately the leak in my system was bigger than Bob and I had hoped. As much as I didn't want to admit it, we needed to replace the unit. We decided to replace both the AC and furnace. I called a couple other companies to see what they would charge. Bob was much more reasonably priced and cheaper than most other companies. Bob and his son Kyle were great. They worked with us around our schedule and were very professional, timely, and courteous. They came over, did the install, and cleaned up like they were never even there. I am so glad I researched a good hvac guy. I am new to the Algonquin area, and had trouble with my furnace. I reached out to Airtech as well as many others, and wow, I am so glad Airtech was my choice. I had guys come and tell me I needed a new furnace ( less than ten years old). I had guys come and tell me 2000 dollars to fix, I had several companies tell me it was going to be a difficult procedure and I should worry. When I reached out to Bob on Friday, he came on Saturday. I thought to myself " great, an emergency pricing call". Not the case. His rate is the same as if it work was done during the week which no other company quoted me on. He is straight to the point. 2 error codes on the furnace and cleared within minutes. This guy is good Not only that, without forcing me to do more work on my furnace he gave me the option to see if he can look into what was causing the problem. Follow up was a cleaning and a clogged motor. Overall cost= Less than 400 dollars Easy math on this one Company 1= 2000 plus Company 2=1000 plus possibly additional 1000 Company 3.= New unit 4000 You see, Bob doesn't approach your door with a suit and tie. We've used Bob at Air Tech since 1992, when he simply replaced our AC coil and kept our AC running for another 20 years after 3 other well known HVAC area contractors told us our AC could not be fixed and had to be replaced, as well as they all told us our existing furnace was also useless. They advised that we needed a 2 stage furnace all for the economical price of only "$17,000". We paid just over $500 for the coil and enjoyed our existing AC until we replaced the AC (with Bob of course) in 2013 --a full 21 years after the other HVACS said it was kaput! Our furnace lasted until 2002 when Bob replaced it at a much more reasonable price that what the others quoted back in 1992, 10 years earlier. Bob is honest, reliable and works to build relationships that benefit all. We have referred Bob to at least 8 neighbors who have all become satisfied customers. As an example of how far Bob goes to help his customers, today our AC went out in over 80 degree weather. One of our children was home recuperating from an illness in the house with no AC and quickly rising temperatures. Bob was all the way out in Harvard when we asked for his help. Bob quickly rearranged his schedule and our AC was fixed in less than 2 hours from our request for help. In conclusion, if you could design your own personal HVAC contractor who meet all your needs, that contractor would be Air Tech. The first time I called Airtech was on Christmas morning in 2017 when my rental home in Cary had no heat. I desperately called 4-5 different companies that day trying to find someone to come out on Christmas. Not only did Bob call me back immediately, he did not charge any overtime or holiday fees (the other guys quoted me between $250-$500 just to go out and look), but also got his son out to the house quickly to correct the problem. Air Tech Cary is locally owned. We called them and told them of issues we were having with our A/C unit. Bob, the owner, told my husband a couple things to try before they came out for service. It worked! We called him back to say thank you. He saved us a service fee and responded immediately. Our furnace went out later that fall. Again, they came out right away gave us several options and were very honest about cost, etc. We went with the new furnace that was reasonably priced and replaced right away. This year our 27-year-old A/C went out. Again we called them. They were here the same day giving us a quote and telling us various options, again letting us make the choice. They had us up in running within a few days. I would recommend this company totally. I have the highest respect for their work as well as their customer service rapport. Wow! What can I say. Had my AC blowing but no cold air. I was getting quotes for a 23 year old system. Air Tech was the only one that would take a look at it while they were there to see if there was a quick fix. Turns out all I needed was a top off of some freon and a new capacitor. Air Tech only sells you on what you need. His quote on a new ac and furnace was lower than the rest including top of the line Trane equipment. When the time comes for a new system I will be called Air Tech. Called on New Year's Day and got a call back right away. Bob came out quickly to look at furnace. Didn't have the part, but was able to come back the next day to fix.
