I've been coming to Ping Ping pretty consistently for the same dish now, so it's about time I review my regular spot! My favorite dish here is the tofu dry chili pepper. There is absolutely nothing that can compare, and no restaurant seems to be able to mimic the skill that is required for this dish. The tofu is delightfully crispy, numbing, and well seasoned on the outside. The inside of the tofu is soft. The contract between the textures is a wonderful, culinary masterpiece to the taste buds that is to be marveled by all restaurants. Service is good; ambiance is no-frills. I don't have any pictures of the tofu dry chili pepper, but just know--it is an absolute delight.

Came here recently for takeout. Called ahead and food was ready when estimated, 15 minutes. Sampled the following: Dan Dan Noodles: Flat thin noodles with spicy sauce. Mung Bean Noodles: Thick wiggly blocks of mung mean noodle in a fiery chilli sauce. Shredded Pork with Dried Tofu: With bell peppers, not listed on the menu. Wasn't a big fan. When the peppers are on point, this combination works. It was ok. Shredded Pork with Sweet Bean Sauce: Yum. Pork, sauce, and scallions. Simple and delicious. Indonesian Fried Rice: Really good, with chili paste, shrimp, chicken, pork, and a fried egg on top. Parking: In shared lot, Gateway Shopping Center. Return: Yes, if in the area.

We came here for Szechuan food by the recommendation of a coworker when we were traveling for work. We went with a large group and everyone shared everything. Some of the things we tried were: hot pot style beef, dry chili pepper style fish, Kung Pao style tofu, Kung Pao style shrimp, Dan Dan noodles, scallion pancakes, double cooked pork, pickled chili pepper style pork, minced pork, fish soup, and a rabbit peanut dish. My favorite things were the scallion pancakes, hot pot style beef, dry chili pepper style fish, Kung Pao style tofu, and double cooked pork. One thing we found weird was that the Dan Dan noodles were made with linguine. Someone who had had them here previously said they used to be a different noodle. The one thing that turned me off about this place was the service. Before we were seated, we asked for a table for 8 and asked if we could have separate checks. We were told we could split the check if we wanted to. When it came time to pay, they told us we could only use 2 credit cards. We pushed back because they told us we could before we were seated. Eventually, they let us this time, but said next time we couldn't. It felt like they lied to us originally just so we would come in and eat with them because they had a policy of not splitting checks. While I enjoyed the food, I don't think I will be back because of how they handled the check situation. If you don't split checks, just say that up front.

After going to this restaurant many times; I can tell you that this place is amazing. It has one of a kind flavors. My favorite dish being the Shrimp with Walnuts. It is sweet and a blast of flavor in my mouth. The food came out in around 10 minutes, which is extremely impressive. It is quiet and cozy. It is a great place to eat and relax with family. Ping Pong will not disappoint you!

R & G's Ping Pong serves generally authentic Szhechuan/Sichuan cuisine, including some appetizers and entrees on the last a few pages of the menu. I usually stop by here for spicy comfort food after shopping at KOP mall. It's a casual joint with reasonable pricing and standard Chinese restaurant service. Based on my several visits here, the Szhechuan dishes that I've ordered are consistently well-made and delicious. Good option to fall back on when dining in this area.

Much has changed, for the worse. We used to frequent this restaurant often. Now the flavor's off and the portions are small.

What do you think of R&Z's Ping Pong?

They provide authentic Chinese food, as well as the Americanized version. The quality is good and fresh, and I always liked the staff who are very friendly.

While the interior design and service are very good, food itself is lackluster and not of good value. My husband ordered $18 mini pot (five spice chicken), but he wasn't impressed by the flavor and portion. For him to say "the lunch is horrible", it means the flavor is really not there. I had the $18 signature chicken soup rice noodle. I would say it's of better value. But I wasn't too keen about the flavor either. Their food presentation is superb, but at the end of the day a restaurant needs to work on flavor and value if it's seeking long term success.

Hot pot: They bring a beautiful pot to your table with thr both & meat we selected: lamb. They add hot water when the broth gets low however that diluted the broth. I would rather they brought more broth. The lamb was good but some of the lamb was tough and some was very tender which made us think they were cooked at different times. I took it home and pressure cooked it and it was great. I added rice to my take away. The portions were so big, it could feed 4 to 6 people!! The manager Zoie came over and answered questions about the process. She was nice. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to going back.

We went for the 2nd time and they finally turned up the heat here last Sunday so we weren't freezing. Decent crowd of mostly Asians having lunch. The place looks somewhat upscale and is clean, with lots of light (big windows). NO sticky tables here! Unfortunately, the entrees are overpriced but they do run a very limited $10 specials that are more in the ballpark of what the entrees should be. If you want pho with all the goodies in it like you normally would downtown, be prepared to pay $18. Pho broth is decent (but I feel like it's missing a bit of flavor) and portion size is standard. Pho accoutrements (bean sprouts, herbs, jalapenos) are also to what you would expect. Grilled pork bahn mi is delicious. They use good bread with good balance of crispy and chewy. Verdict: it's good but not great. Main line price adjustment. If you want great, drive into the city. My suggestion to the owners: drop the prices and get rid of the specials. Train your staff to smile more and keep the place warm ( figuratively and literally). Some tweaks could make this place much better.
