Cauliflower
Joya B.

The outside is very unassuming, but the inside is aesthetically pleasing and simple, yet dramatic. It's perfect for a date night. The food was delicious well thought out and interesting. We had mac n cheez , crispy cauliflower, truffle fries. I would return to try other dishes. There is a kids menu but it doesn't feel family friendly. The prices are mid and that is the only thing that would make me pause. Service was okay, not bad but not friendly.

Super delicious! Had the Rüt burger with normal fries, and it was super delicious! Some of the best fries I've ever had, anywhere. The burger was super good too. Friend had the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings and their Pomegranate Soda, and they were all super tasty as well! Definitely going back

I walked in not knowing that it's was vegan and vegetarian, but I tried a few items like the cauliflower wings and the bean dip as appetizers and for main dish I got a not chicken, chicken burger or something like that plus a macaroni that where both amazing and took a matcha cheek cake to go

Looking for a vegan restaurant that will not only delight the vegans in your life, but also the folks who eat meat? Then look no further than Rüt. Solo diners can't make a reservation online as the minimum is two or more diners. However, there is a small bar - it only seats four - so if you do happen to find yourself solo dining, show up early because this place gets busy and there isn't much bar seating. Cocktails are reasonably priced at $14 and the Luna's Lemon Drop that I ordered smelled like a spa - think eucalyptus - and was well balanced and tasty. For dinner I ordered the Brussel sprouts. They were really good. Crispy on the outside. The not so chicken sandwich was spicier than I expected. I felt my lips tingling after consuming half the sandwich. I honestly wouldn't have known it wasn't chicken if I wasn't at a vegan restaurant. I also upgraded to the dirty fries. The kitchen was fast, so courses were coming out quicker than expected and I felt a little rushed. I didn't have enough time to eat the dish in front of me without letting the next one get cold. The server acknowledged this and apologized saying they don't normally have this issue and that their timing is typically better. It was restaurant week during my visit, so perhaps being ahead is better than being behind. Also, the bartender was running the drinks to tables, which made it a little bit more difficult to get the same level of attention from the bartender. While here, I also had the flourless chocolate cake, which had an almost mouse consistency.

I don't remember what this dish was called, but it was perfection!

We were in Spokane for a cold, snowy weekend and I did a quick search for vegan restaurants in the area because I always love to scout out the vegan fare when I'm in a new city. We came across Rut and looked over the menu to find many tasty-sounding options. I decided to go with a dish that featured orecchiette pasta and vegetables in a broth, and I'm not even exaggerating when I say that it was one of the most incredible meals I have ever had! The dish was seasoned perfectly, featured a delicious selection of fresh vegetables, and the warm broth was nothing short of perfection on such a cold day. Here's where the problem comes in...I live almost 5 hours from Spokane! Now that I have experienced the exquisiteness of Rut, I must return, but it's such a long drive! Here's hoping they bring this deliciousness to the other side of the mountain someday!

Was really impressed by the food! Especially the Truffle Mac!! Came here with a non-vegan friend too who also really enjoyed everything.

Thai ginger and buffalo cauliflower wings (top), melted eggplant sandwich (bottom)

I've always wanted to try a vegan restaurant and was so happy this was my first! Parking is easy to find and we were welcomed as soon as we entered the door. Small but beautiful and clean interior. There were about 10 tables or so and we were allowed to choose whichever one. Even though it was already 1 PM, there was already 3-4 tables filled. I chose the melted eggplant sandwich ($16) - it was so delicious! It had a little bit of everything and the flavors really worked well together. Not too overpowering with spice and the eggplant was cooked perfectly. Since it was my first time having vegan cheese as well, I am impressed by how similar it is to real cheese (texture, flavor, color). Would recommend eating quickly or else the bread will get soggy from the heat of the sandwich. Fries were 5/10. Good flavor, but I'd prefer a thicker cut with a more unique sauce. They were basically shoestring fries with ketchup, though well-salted. Also beautiful presentation on the black dish - I love it when the food to plate ratio is almost 1 to 1. The price was on the higher side, but I was surprisingly full afterward. I also tried ginger cauliflower wings. Very good! The batter is thick and crunchy. It's definitely more cauliflower than chicken-like (which is what I assume it is supposed to mimic). But cauliflower was also cooked well - not too over or underdone. Strong ginger flavor, which I like. You can buy it half/half with the buffalo cauliflower wings for an extra $1. I personally would not buy an appetizer for $15 (total of 10-11 pieces), but I understand that more probably went into it can it presents. 4.5/5 (-0.5 for price) - would recommend to anyone wanting to try a vegan restaurant! I would be interested to try some other menu items.

High ceiling, original artwork, good music. A chili vibe.

I like this place and am on the fence about whether to rate them a five. Hmm. A cool, chill vibe. Good music. Would be a good place to go for a drink. Service was also chill, a bit slow, but that goes with the vibe. Just don't expect to get in and out quickly. Tomato soup was good, especially for being vegan. Not that vegan tomato soup is super difficult. Buffalo cauliflower was mixed. "Ranch" dressing was phenomenal. Wow, so good. The cauliflower itself was a bit too salty. It did melt in your mouth. Maybe should have gotten the Thai ones. Was disappointed that there was no chana or dhal dishes. And no teas. I know, the menu is what it is, but it didn't completely work for me, and so 4 stars.

Pumpkin cheesecake

Finding vegan food is not always easy, thank goodness I found RUT! The service was great -super friendly and checked in on me. I ordered the chicken sandwich with side salad and it was really good! Not greasy at all. I'm usually not a fan of pretzel buns but this might've changed my mind! The vinaigrette on the salad was perfect. But now, let's get to the star of my meal...the pumpkin cheesecake!! Holy vegan cow was it delicious!!! It was the perfect amount of sweet, it was creamy, the crust was so so good!! I regret that I didn't finish it all!!

Rüt always impresses me with their consistently great vegan food. We ordered the pumpkin Bucatini and it was exceptional. The flavor was perfect and the noodles were cooked exactly how they should be. We also had the mushroom jalapeño burger. It is probably my favorite thing on their menu. It has some insanely good flavors with the Seitan bacon, crispy onion straws, and tasty jalapeño relish vegan cream cheese! I highly recommend he gives his place a chance if you haven't already!

The RUT Restaurant and Bar Menu

Everything about this restaurant is amazing! The food is fantastic, full of flavor and creative. The staff, they are so nice and knowledgeable. There is probably nothing on the menu that would be disappointing. I had the Jalapeño Mushroom Burger and the Thai Ginger Cauliflower Wings. All vegan!!! And let's not leave out the Gertrudes Mule that I had while waiting for my food! EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT !!! I wish they had a restaurant in the Los Angeles area where I live because I would go there at least once a week! Even if you are not vegan, I would suggest that you give it a try. You won't be sorry.

We arrived around 5:30pm and left around 8. When we arrived we immediately felt warm and cozy. The vibes are absolutely immaculate! There are plants and cute decor everywhere and the lighting is really soothing. We were shown to a table in the back that was more private and it really felt like we had our own little garden that we were hanging out in. The server was very nice and friendly. Both she and the other server or bartender were friendly and attentive. We ordered a bunch of drinks throughout the night. I had two pinky promises because I don't drink and they were absolutely delicious. They have some great mocktail options to choose from! We also got the hummus board and the bites board and they were fantastic! The hummus board had two rotating hummus options - one was a normal hummus and the other was a beet hummus. The pita chips seemed freshly made and were AMAZING. I wish I could take a bag to go with me! The bites board was also amazing and had some delicious cheeses. We asked to have the meats replaced with other things to make it vegetarian and it was fantastic. They should add it as a menu item, we loved every bit of it! It didn't feel like it had substitutions at all. We loved every second of our time there and kept saying how we wished it was local to us. This place is an absolute gem and I hope it gets more traction because of how wonderful it is. If I ever visit Spokane again I will absolutely be back here!

Being full of plants and dog friendly added to the appeal for our crew. The service and cocktails were top notch, though I was a little sad that most of the food options I was interested in were not available. The charcuterie and hummus plates were nice, and ample servings for our whole table. Our small group had a great experience, and I truly hope more people will recognize what a gem this place is!

The whole atmosphere is dark, cozy, moody, and feels more like a hidden lounge than a typical downtown bar. Between the lighting, music, books, and dramatic cocktail menus, the vibe alone makes the place worth visiting. We tried the espresso martini, Painkiller, and Bloody Verde. The espresso martini was smooth and easy to drink without being overly sweet, and the Painkiller had that creamy tropical flavor that somehow still worked with the darker speakeasy atmosphere. Keeping it honest though, the Bloody Verde just wasn't for me personally. I can still appreciate the creativity behind it, but the flavor combo just didn't match my taste buds. That being said, if you like savory spicy cocktails, you'd probably feel very differently about it. Service was friendly, drinks came out looking great, and the music really tied the whole experience together. Definitely feels like one of Spokane's more unique cocktail spots if you want something moodier and more relaxed.

Their menu is very interesting, it definitely tells a new American story with a lot of influence, but holds traditional to a new American style. The service is incredible. Everyone seems so happy and alive. Every single thing that we got was perfect. The port flight was quite a steal at $20. We were excited to try some different items, but were even more thrilled when it came out with some amazing chocolate. The bread puffs that come before the meal are to die for, and we got a taquito appetizer that was super filling, fresh, vibrant, and a little unique too.
