If you ever find yourself at the Spokane Valley Mall, swing by the food court and check out Amen Ethiopian Café! The enticing aromas drew me in. Everything is made fresh and packed with tons of protein--perfect for a hearty meal! The owner is super friendly and accommodating; even though they had no hummus (it was sold out), she whipped some up just for us! I love that all the food is prepared fresh daily. The portions are generous, so prepare for a food coma afterward! We decided to share the chicken stir-fry and it was a solid 10/10! If you are wanting to try something different you should come here. I have never had Ethiopian food but had recently read a book that was set in Ethiopia and when they described the food I realized I had been missing out. Was surprised we have an Ethiopian place . I've never had Ethiopian cuisine before and I have to admit I was a little hesitant, especially about the vegetables. The vegetables where what I liked best. They were so good that I decided to look up a recipe and try it at home. Oh my goodness. My family ate them up, even my 14 year old daughter who hates vegetables more than me. I am so glad I stopped at this restaurant. The food was tasty and the service was exceptional. I don't get out to the valley mall often, but I will be returning soon. read more

A brand new Ethiopian restaurant located in Spokane Mall in the food court. Clean, and the food hot and served hot to order. The owner is very nice, genuine and friendly. She pointed out all of her yummy entrees. You can tell she puts her love and dedication into her cooking. Tasty and homemade like if you were at her home. The Ethiopian Buna (coffee) was handmade and strong after a filling meal. We were in a food coma after we left. It's a good thing that this was our last place we visited in the mall! I am so glad the valley mall finally has some authentic, REAL food! Ate here for the first time and it was the best meal I've had in a while. The owner of the restaurant is so nice. She told me she also cooks for Feast World Kitchen, which is great since it's close to my place downtown. I ordered the Hibra's Combo and the portions were huge. I took home leftovers and it was just as tasty the second time around. This is my new go-to place now whenever I find myself in the valley. read more
