Good breakfast burritos, not all huge with a bunch of tortilla. And it's the only place around that I can find a cortado!

I really like this place as it happens to be convenient for me and they have good quality coffee. I often add a bagel or one of their breakfast burritos to my order as they are of very good quality as well. There are a handful of tables, some of which are 1/2 booth seating. They do run out of bagels often times before I show up on Saturday or Sunday which is a bit frustrating. I also wish they had a frequent user card like most others do. This would likely entice me to use them a bit more. That being said, the coffee is very good and the staff are always friendly. Worth a stop. read more

Extremely clean, contemporary modern furniture, and welcoming staff. Coffee is on point and baristas are open to explaining what their coffees are in case you're new to drinking expresó. Set us is unique and very spacious with plenty of two seat tables. There are a couple of tables for groups and also a handful of couches. Best part is an easy to navigate drive thru. The Valley is a strange place when it comes to coffee options. There are an astonishing amount of drive thru stands that you can get all kinds of hot beverages, but when you want to just sit in a coffee shop and chill, it becomes a whole lot harder. On a rare weekday I had off work, I wanted to do just that, so I took to Yelp. To my amazement, there were almost no options of a cozy space to curl up with a latte and plug away on my laptop and reminisce on all those years in Seattle. Thomas Hammer came out on top of that short list, and I am glad that it did. The interior is minimal, but comfortable. There is fast, free wifi, and there are plenty of electrical outlets. Of course, you're supposed to come there for the coffee, and they definitely doing it up right. They have multiple non-dairy milk options, which is now the norm, but I recall them having almond milk before that other big chain we won't mention did. And MAJOR PROPS for offering coconut-based whipped cream. I don't know of any other coffee shops locally that have a non-dairy whip option. Of course, you can break the bank pretty quickly here when you start adding in all the extras, but for me it was a treat. If I had to whine about something, it would be that no one really clears the parking lot, so it's a slip and slide fest, but that seems to be the norm in Spokane for some reason anyway. read more

This is the *only* Thomas Hammer I avoid. I am convinced this is a training center because of the rate of fails I experience - and i don't come here often. Between my wife and I, the coffee experience varies. It's too week, too strong, too cool, my coffee cup size is not available, or some other weird unexpected variation. This last time (and I mean it this time) they botched the timing by not consider the drive-thru rush. My wife's order was served before the rush while mine was delayed until all the car orders were fulfilled. Basic training exercise. Consider tipping AFTER you are served. read more

I'd consider myself a bit of a coffee snob. I'm blessed enough to own my own espresso machine and make them from home. When I'm out I still get my lattes though! A girl needs her coffee all the time! No matter where you go you're probably going to find one barista that doesn't really know or care what she/he is doing. But at Thomas Hammer this one particular girl did know and I was extremely impressed. There has never been a coffee stand that I've been at that will "pull" a shot and decide that it didn't pull correctly and redo it, until I came here. She actually cared about it! Very impressive! I will drive out of my way to continue to do business where money isn't the only thing they are thinking of. So thank you! Store is nice and service is great, but like the other reviewer said, the coffee seems stale or off. Though this won't matter if you buy blended drinks full of sweetener and added flavors, that's usually enough to hide the staleness. It's a shame because the busier downtown locations are actually pretty good, but I doubt this location does enough business to keep inventory fresh. On two occasions I've also bought 2lbs of coffee ground on-site for cold brew coffee (course ground) and each time I've tried to make cold brew, it'll plug the cold brew filter up with thick brown sludge. So either their grinder is not set up right, the employee is setting it wrong (not likely), or it's a result of grinding stale, dried out coffee beans that results in powdery coffee dust that plugs up my filter. Either way, I won't be going back to this or any less trafficked TH location because of doubts about freshness. read more

Dropped by this new Thomas Hammer several days ago. Drive up window for 16 oz brewed coffee. Cashier was friendly, coffee was reasonably priced. It was very hot and after cooling to a drinkable temperature, it tasted stale. Very stale--as if it had been kept hot for 4- 5 hours. Returned today at about 10 AM and went inside. The place was clean and fairly nicely decorated. There were only 3 customers, and I counted 4 employees. The drink menu was fairly clear. However, the food menu left a lot to be desired. "Sammich" is cute but not very professional. This is especially true when the term is describing a half dozen desiccated objects that may have been sandwiches last week. There were also some things that may have been meat pies or small round quiches. Baked goods were almost all packaged and not clearly labeled as to what was in the bag. I tried a piece of "poppy seed loaf." It was so greasy it was almost inedible. My wife tried a chocolate covered Oreo. Ok, but not worth the price. My brewed coffee was tongue-burning hot. And when cooled to a drinkable temperature tasted like it was from the same batch I had the week before. My Wife had a 16 oz low-fat vanilla latte. It appeared to be an espresso shot with vanilla syrup diluted with hot milk. There was no frothing-just hot milky coffee. Never seen a latte that lacked any froth. Maybe that is why the cashier asked if I wanted whipped cream on top of it. Why does this place run your as credit and include a tip space and require a signature? Surely a debit option is possible. The cashier neglected to supply me with a receipt. And when I asked her for one, said "Sure . . .but I'll have to dig around a little bit." after a couple of minutes, I told her never mind, I'll check my bank account online. read more
