Arrived at the store and asked which computer I could use to login to my account to print the label. Logged in and printed label. Attached label to package and handed it to the kid behind the counter. He says it's $1.22. Didn't even realize he was talking to me. So person who answered the phone made no mention of a fee. The kid who told me which computer I could use to print out the label made no mention of the fee. No sign next to the computer making any mention of a fee. When I hit the print button on the computer screen, it made no mention of a fee. It is their job to make the customers aware of a fee beforehand allowing us to decide if we still want to use this service. A woman in the store at the same time said she wanted to use the fax machine. She was immediately made aware of the cost, prior to using this service. CHARGING ME AFTER THE FACT IS ILLEGAL. What prevents them from charging me any amount they want. Should've taken my package and left. The amount charged is not the point.

New City Moving used to be my favorite out of them all in Chicago, but since they were bought out by New Sons, everything is going down the tubes. My recent move job went as follows. Movers showed up 25 minutes late on move day, had the audacity to ask for a tip, over-rode my instruction as to arrival time at the new location and approached the front desk to start unloading before my arrival, after I told them we had the elevator booked at a certain time. Apparently they had a full move after mine, which is something the "old " New City never did, so they were in a rush. I was willing to let all that slide until the next day I noticed that they drilled too far in to my clients dining table while assembling it and cracked the top of it in four areas. Funny how the lead Juan made sure to point out any items while packing that were previously damaged, or scratches on the floor of the new unit when we entered, but neglected to inform me that he busted my clients table right before he left for his next job. oh and for the record, I had tips for each team member on both pack and move day. point is, no one in service should ask for a tip. it's tacky. This UPS store is just fine. They also do passport photos here. There aren't any special hours for the passport photos so head in at any point during hours. As of February 2023, the cost for passport photos is only about $15. There's street parking a plenty here.

The selection is solid, considering nothing costs money. They put the belief that books should be for everyone into practice. When I was a HS English Teacher, I gave away dozens of copies to my former students to help start their personal libraries.
