This place is fantastic! The tables were booked up so we sat at the bar. The Tamarind Margherita is delicious! We started with salsa and guacamole. Both were fresh and flavorful. We also had the pollo con manzana y nuez and the mixed fajitas. Both were extremely good! They do not have your typical Mexican food, it's all fresh ingredients and house made sauces. The owner Victor, was very personable and handled his staff very well. He said they just moved to this location so I think the staff was working to keep up with the increased traffic, but you wouldn't know it because he handled every situation with poise and respect for everyone on his team. Extremely enjoyable meal, definitely recommend, and we will be back! read more

A must try restaurant! Unbelievably we had a great Breakfast there, and the Lunch we had was fabulous. Wide variety of selections for everyone to choose from, everyone can find their own favorite. Great location, staff is super friendly, and the overall service was excellent. Try the smoothies - you will than me later. We will be back every time we come in for a visit! Quixote has recently relocated to Maine Street. I went in with excitement but walked out with disappointment. Serving store bought Tostitos vs. homemade tortilla chips was the first clue this place wasn't going to be good. This is the waffle house of Mexican. Terrible. I will never visit again. read more

Great place right downtown. My wife and I enjoyed Quixote and were pleasantly surprised by how good both our meals were. Also, I am a salsa snob, both their Red and Verde salsa were fantastic. I ordered the Manchus Mantel Mole and was using the corn tortillas to soak up every last bit. My wife had the Carnitas which were perfectly flavored. Was extremely unimpressed with this restaurant. The chips and salsa were poured from a bad and you have to pay for them. We ordered cocktails and there was little to no alcohol in them. The fish tacos had fried fish on a flour tortilla (menu said corn tortilla). There was fish and a lime slice on the tortilla, but nothing else. No sauce, no lettuce, no salsa. Really? Little flair or flavor. Boring presentation. Poorest excuse for a fish taco I have ever had. I cannot help to think this was a mistake. A big one. Nice location, helpful staff. We had to move to a table from a booth that didn't have enough room between the seats & table, and we aren't overweight. The food, while good, was in no way what I'd consider Mexican. The lack of any spiciness made it seem more like bland German food. Quixote has a great location but unfortunately the food wasn't up to par with the ambiance. I ordered the picadillo which according to the menu was shredded beef served with rice and beans. Instead I was served 5 tiny tacos each filled with at most two tablespoons of lukewarm picadillo, a tiny serving of bland hot sauce, and not a grain of rice or legume in sight. I would have said something to my server, but she went AWOL until she brought my check. She didn't ask if I wanted my empty glass of tea refilled or if I enjoyed my meal. As out-of-towners in the mood for Mexican food, we took a chance on Quixote despite only having 2 reviews on Yelp so far (though both highly rated as well). We weren't disappointed and enjoyed the surprising options on the menu. While you can find items similar to your typical Mexican restaurant (enmoladas similar to enchiladas, for example), you'll find lots of tasty new options as well. After some tasty appetizers (guac, cucumber salsa, and a spiced noodle soup), our table ordered the ancherra steak, a pork entree, chicken huerachas (similar to a tostada but a bit thicker), the creamy fruit/nut chicken, and two varieties of mole (say mo-lay) entrees (recommend getting the mole on the side for the enmoladas or asking for half as much). Everyone was happy. Even the toddlers and four-year-old. Delicious flan and okay cheesecake. The ambience and service were added bonuses. A big thumbs up to our waiter Taylor/Victor who was friendly, capable and made us feel welcome. And who wouldn't be charmed dining beneath starry lanterns in a fancy log cabin complete with with a roaring fireplace? Hope the locals keep this place in business so we have a chance to visit again if ever in Brevard. Reasonable prices (our share of the check was $45 for three and a baby, including a generous tip). Been here in Brevard for a month and we just had our first lunch at Quixote. Absolutely, hands down, the best meal we've had in the area. Regardless of the ethnic character of the cuisine, from appetizer (guacamole) to entrees (pollo con manzana and bistec poblano) the food tasted fresh and it was an excellently prepared meal. Let me explain why I didn't give it five stars besides the fact that I treat five stars like jewels. Everything we ordered was excellent but it wasn't knock-your-socks-off Mexican cuisine. I look forward to going back to Quixote very soon, not necessarily for Mexican food but, for really good food. Prices seemed very reasonable for the quality. I had high hopes after all the good reviews... But it was so unimpressive! We are pretty confident the red salsa was Campbell's tomato soup with a little spice. They served Pepsi and said it was Coke. The soup of the day was also something we have eaten out of a can before with a little spice. The fajitas were bland and served over lettuce-- it was so odd! I had very high hopes after reading the yelp reviews for this place. Sadly, we left hungry and disappointed. First off, they charge for chips and salsa. We ordered salsa and queso to start. The salsa was heated and it was really strange. The queso was not queso at all. It was just white cheese in a casserole dish. It wasn't a dip just melted shredded cheese, and this bit of cheese costed us 5.99. I ordered the chicken fajitas which were ok but served on a bed of lettuce, odd right? They did give us a sample of the carrot soup & it was great! All in all the entree wasn't terrible, service was great, but it was way overpriced and I don't think we will be back. read more

First off no free chips and salsa so you have to pay 3.50 for salty round bag chips that right away made me realize this was not "fine" mexican dining! The food was over priced and very bland plain white rice can refrieds no seasoning and the carnitas was super greasy. The wife got chicken enchiladas they were also bland literally just chicken and barley any sauce. I looked at the other reviews and I'm not sure that people actually went to this place if I could give no stars I would!!! Great! The service was very good and the food was yummy! They have a few vegetarian items on the menu and were able to accommodate my request for a special vegetarian enchilada. Place is very eclectic, almost odd decor! Statues of Don Quixote, and odd planters hanging in the middle of the restaurant~ needs some help!! The house cab and my husbands porter were great and reasonable. I had vegetable fajita/quesadilla- delish. My hubby had steak soft taco. Although pretty plain (no cheese, onion , etcetera) he liked it. Both served with beans and rice. Forgot to mention all entree come with cup of pablano pepper soup, which was delicious. Service was good, but perhaps maybe close to the the point of being intrusive. Someone came by our table over 5 times to ask about our dinners. I was expecting the worst from a Mexican restaurant in a small North Carolina town, but this place is pretty good. I'd even go so far as to say that it wouldn't be out of place in the Mexican cuisine haven that is Southern California, which is high praise from a SoCal native. I ordered the tacos al pastor ($9.99?), which came with 5 street tacos authentically double-wrapped in corn tortillas with adobo sauce on the side. The meal was delicious, flavorful, and fresh. My only complaint is that I wish they had come with a side of rice and/or beans for the price and to supplement the small portion. On the menu, it states that the pork filling is cooked in pineapple juice but doesn't mention that it is also served with pineapple chunks. If the texture of warm pineapple is off-putting to you, this might be an issue, but it didn't bother me. Along those same lines, the chips we got as an appetizer were delicious in my opinion, but if you don't like tasting the oil they were fried in (not that they were greasy, just that you could taste the cooking oil) you might want to pass on them. read more

I had to double-check the address to make sure we were eating at the same place that received all of the 4 and 5 star ratings. I just cannot imagine how because everything ... from the chips and salsa, to the 'top-shelf, $12 (!) margarita, to the fajitas ... was bland and unimaginative. We went anticipating a good, well prepared new and dining experience. What we got was very nice presentation and restaurant decor, but food quality that was very much below expectation. The steak tacos were awful, rubbery and not prepared well. The chicken tacos tasted like crock pot chicken, and no chips chips and salsa were provided. Five of us had a late lunch at Quixote and we were very impressed. We shared the appetizer sampler (queso fundido, guacamole, and pepino dip), which was excellent. It came with both soft tortillas and home-made tortilla chips. I had the chicken tacos (soft corn tortillas), and my companions had Mancha mantel (superb mole sauce!), baked salmon with veggies (lightly roasted), and shrimp with red salsa. We were given a small tasting of their poblano soup, which blew us away because it was so good. Portions were large; beer selection included craft beers, and the service was excellent. This is not your typical cookie cutter mex American place that serves tomato sauce and chips all dinner. The food is more tradition and has lots of fresh flavors. The owners took a chance that Brevard was ready for an authentic mexican restaurant and they nailed it. You wont find all of the deep fried drowned in sauce tex mex food here. These are slow cooked, family recipes and they are awesome. My favorite is the TAMARINDERA. Chicken in a sweet tamarind sauce with bacon and rice. Fantastic. Chunky guacamole is also a must while you wait. So good. Soups are amazing. You can really tell these are family recipes passed down through generations. read more
