Found this place on Yelp, confirmed its quality with a local. Arrived late afternoon on a Saturday. We were the only ones there. Interesting decor (appropriately themed) and good service. No complimentary salsa. The menu offers atypical Mexican dishes. A little pricey all around. Our meals ( orange shrimp and bean enchiladas) were ok--not great. While the shrimp were nicely seasoned, the enchiladas were small, bland, and drizzled with an unremarkable tomato sauce. The mixed veggie side was mushy and under seasoned. Our chips/salsa appetizer came with tomato and verde salsa. Both had far too much onion. On the whole, we were a bit disappointed. While not terrible, I don't think we'd recommend it. read more

What a great surprise in downtown Brevard. We were looking for a bite of Mexican, but we got much more. Everything we had was excellent from the Mole, tortilla soup, a stuffed pepper dish with a wonderful sauce to the dessert churros and chocolate cake. The staff was friendly and attentive and described the dishes well, answering all of our questions. Wow. As we walked into this beautiful setting, we were greeted with warmth and laughter by Diego, who seated us at a window table to enjoy downtown Brevard. Every dish we ordered was perfectly cooked. We enjoyed pork carnitas tacos, pollo con manzanas (chicken with a creamy pecan sauce and apples) and Momias, a delicate pasta dish with a creamy mango salsa topped with bacon-wrapped shrimp. My wife and I dined at Quixote on August 15; we were greeted by an indifferent host and served by a waitress that was inattentive with minimal interaction skill. While the restaurant has a nice location and upscale feel, the food quality did not match said atmosphere. Quixote is overpriced for what you get, and Brevard has better alternatives. read more

Five-stars all around! The seating areas (inside and out) are beautiful and comfortable, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was simply top notch! The chips and salsa are not free, but definitely worth ordering-even the kids like the salsa verde (mild), the salsa roja (medium) was packed with flavor, and the guacamole was fresh and they clearly used ripe avocados-not too tough or creamy. I got the chicken in mole sauce per the reviews, and it did not disappoint! It had a deep, smoky-ish flavor, and with the rice (cooked perfectly-light & fluffy) and salsa in a corn tortilla, it was amazing! Would certainly come back! read more

Our family of 5 waited for over an hour to be seated, which would have been okay if they had been honest and/or made even the slightest attempt to be fair. We were repeatedly told by staff that we were next to be seated, but people who had not been waiting were given preference on multiple occasions. They had slightly smaller parties, so we were understanding the first few times it happened. The final straw occurred when we were told that a specific table would be ours whenever the current patrons left. We waited patiently through their entire meal- from when they were seated to when the table was cleared. However, staff instead gave it away to an online reservation and told us that the online reservation took precedent. They strung us along and screwed us over in the end without even an apology. Very poor customer service. Wish I could give a review of the food, but we never even got close to being able to eat. read more

I'm not usually a complainer. I own a business, I understand how things can go. We waited for almost an hour in a near empty dining room for substandard fajitas. Worst of all, we were running late for a show, we had to take it to go and we hadn't seen our waitress and 30 minutes. She never checked on us. When we expressed urgency she said let me check, and then "it'll be a few minutes". Once our to-go order was packed, she was unapologetic. This message is for the manager. Just so you know. This was our first visit to Quixote, but will not be the last. We began with the appetizer sampler of queso, guacamole and a creamy cucumber dip. Two members of our party enjoyed the rib eye steak with rajas. I ordered the Tamarindera-chicken cooked with bacon and tamarind sauce. All of our food was delicious. We had the house made margaritas along with our meal and they were quite good. A special treat of the evening was a complimentary sample of the broccoli soup. It was the best we had ever tasted. Will be back again to try all of their other soups! Taylor, our waiter, was attentive and very helpful in placing our order. Not your local Tex-Mex. The menu is innovative, fresh and tasty. The service was superb and the prices were moderate. I'll be coming back to sample the other items on the menu that looked good. Our favorite restaurant in Brevard! This is authentic, made-from-scratch, home-style Mexican food. The closest I've ever come to the type of food I ate while living in Mexico decades ago. Our favorite appetizer is the guacamole and chips (warm and tasty). I love, love, love the pollo con manzana (chicken with apple) in a creamy nut and apple sauce. The chicken is super tender and moist and the sauce is heaven on a plate. The sopas (corn cakes) are piled high with either chicken, pork, or chorizo and dusted with crumbly queso. The bean and cheese burritos are simply divine. The pinto beans have that creamy, authentic Mexican flavor that I've not tasted outside Mexico. Not sure how they cook them, but I'd love the have the recipe! The daily specials are always tasty. The soups....yum-o! They also are freshly made and have that layered flavor. I especially like the carrot soup. The flan is a perfect end to the meal. Their mixed drinks are good and they have a decent wine list. I'm not much of a wine connoisseur but enjoyed tremendously a really smooth and flavorful wine called New Age white from Argentina (or something like that). The service is always terrific. The owner walks around, talks with diners, and makes sure you are satisfied. read more

Loved the old place, but they really hit a grand slam with the new location. It is very relaxing and the perfect place to have some really wonderful food. It is Mexican, but not Americanized TexMex fare. Fresh ingredients and ample portions are the standard. The staff reflect the management's dedication to making your dining experience a marvelous one. I just finished a wonderful meal at Quixote in Brevard, NC. I had the Lomo en Salsa de Champinones (Lunch Portion). It was preceded by a cup of the soup of the day. Both the soup and the entree were delicious. The meal was accompanied by a nice Chilean Cabernet that was very good. As I ate my meal, I wondered why I don't dine at Quixote more. I have always had very fine food there. I decided that, at 77, it must be "out of sight; out of mind." Quixote serves fine Mexican dishes. It is not a Tex-Mex in and out restaurant. The food is very well prepared and very pleasant on the palate. I have decided that I shall try to remember to eat at least one meal per week at Quixote. read more

I stopped for dinner on a Sunday evening after a great weekend mountain biking with Pilot Cove and Seth's Bike Hacks. I ordered Tacos al Pastor and the carrot soup. I highly recommend both. The 4 tacos were excellent and amply filled with meat. I did ask for limes to squeeze onto the pork. The carrot soup was also delicious. The Gomez family and their staff are very friendly and gracious, and the food is excellent. I love their huevos con chorizo, and my wife and I recently had a very good chocolate cake dessert. We were in Brevard to celebrate my birthday and this was my birthday dinner. I hate to say this because people there were incredibly nice across the board - but the food was simply disappointing. My steak tacos were dry and lacking in flavor - and my companion's mamias - shrimp wrapped in bacon over pasta - was - according to him - an insult to both the shrimp and the pig. This was a big birthday and we had a lovely time in Brevard - and as noted we really enjoyed the people - but I am still bummed about this dinner. read more

Now that the restaurant has move to downtown Brevard, our retirement group wanted to try it. We've heard both good and bad, and had to see ourselves. The poblano with cheese was OK, not as tasty as I've had at other places. But the guacamole was very disappointing because it was made with CHICKEN stock. Being a vegetarian, I'm sensitive to the taste. To be sure, I had the other members of the group taste it, and 6 of the 8 tasted chicken. I contacted the manager, and he didn't taste the dish, but insisted it was not made with chicken, and refused to compensate me in any way. On the positive side, the craft beer was good and fairly priced, at $4/pint. IF we ever go to Quixote's again, we'll sit outside, order a couple of craft beers, and secretly open the really GOOD guacamole from Ingles Market, and enjoy the evening! :) Al C. read more

Drove 45 min. Out of our way to come here. We were here two months ago, and I was thrilled when the restaurant my husband wanted to go was closed tonight.
