If you are a Quicksilver fan like I am you're gonna love this store! It has a splendid selection of men's and women's surf/casual apparel in addition to boards/gear. Pretty much everything you need for a day at the beach or for chilling on the island. This past summer in San Diego was so freaking cold that we were wearing fullsuits most/all of the time. Consequently, my first few days back surfing Hanalei brought on a bad ass case of BOARDRASH, between my legs (ahem), fml. No worries because it was the Big "Q" to the rescue. They put a hella lot of research into their products and I quickly traded in my 3 year old jams for some mighty fine new Cypher Wonderland "Diamond Dobby" and Cypher Ion "4Way Stretch" boardshorts and I was silk again in the water! The staff here is also totally helpful and is a wealth of information regarding local breaks, things to do, and other businesses in the area. Long Live the "Q"!!! read more

This is my must go to spot on Kaua'i. Hanalei is awesome already, but this shop is meaningful to me, as it is connected with da man, Titus Kinimaka! I love the Kai Kane meaning, as it is perfect for Titus Kinimaka, the waterman. The staff are friendly and the shop is beautifully set up with artifacts from over the years. I wish they would carry Kaua'i Boys clothing again and keep it there constantly, plus stickers too. read more

Stopped by after a day of swimming at Hanalei Bay. Super organized store, easy to find what you need. Kids shop in like 5 minutes but they always manage to find what they need. Love the vibe of this town, walk down the street in your slippers and you have no worries. Kid needed a new Hydroflask and this one had a logo, Hanalei, and the islands etched out in silver. Um, don't know if this will make it to his backpack, should've gotten 2! read more

This is your usual Quiksilver store with all the beach necessities from swimsuits, board shorts, rash guards, snorkel gear, slippahs, and hydroflasks. They have a few Kauai Quiksilver/Roxy T-shirts. Thanks Chuck! I got one of Titus Kinimaka's Hawaiian School of Surfing brochures when we first got to Kauai. The brochure showed a strong Hawaiian man with wild long hair and a determined look on his face. This is who I thought would be teaching me. Nope. It wasn't Titus. It was Chuck who taught me how to surf. Nothing against Chuck - he was great, but, he wasn't the guy in the brochure. Surprise! Advertising got me to the school. And, I learned how to surf! I guess I can let go the expectation that Titus himself would be teaching me. The surf lesson was 1-1/2 hours long. About 10-15 minutes on the beach learning the basics of paddling and popping up on the board. The rest of the time was in the water. Chuck helped me and two other newbies learn how to catch a wave and ride it all the way in. It was amazing! I had a few great runs and a few epic wipeouts. But I did it! We all did it! And they say if they can't teach you how to surf, they will refund your money. So head out to Quicksilver and learn how to surf! It was well worth it. read more

This is a great little shop that houses both Quicksilver and Roxy brand clothing for men, women, and keiki alike, though the selection is somewhat limited and prices aren't cheap. For me this was an iconic visit, as someone who grew up on the beach with these brands and the surfing lifestyle, I wanted to see what that means on the north shore of Kauai. They have specially branded clothing unique to Quicksilver Kauai, and they also house the Hanalei Branch of the Titus Kinimaka Hawaiian School of Surfing. We bought touristy shirts here for our Jersey Shore family back home, but also spent some time getting to know the staff because we booked both Stand Up Paddleboard lessons on the Hanalei River, and Surfing Lessons on the Hanalei Bay with Quicksilver Pro Surfers. I now wear my Titus Quicksilver shirt with pride and accomplishment. I recommend both SUP and surf lessons for beginners. You can rent a board for the day, and what's nice is you can come back all day long and switch the boards out until you find one you love to ride on. Everyone was very friendly, they answered all of our questions and offered advice and tips about our plans in the area. The staff in the retail store always had huge smiles and were friendly. The surf instructors were very knowledgeable, patient, laid back, but knowledgeable and fun. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and they made us feel at home there. Whenever we go back to Kauai, this will be one of my first stops. read more

While vacationing with my husband, in October 2017, I was told about Hydroflasks that were exclusive to Hawaii. We were staying in Princeville on the island of Kauai. I researched where I could find them, and found that Quicksilver in Hanalei had them. When we went there, I met a salesperson, named Sara. Sara informed me that they had not yet received them, and unfortunately would not be there before we left. I asked if I could leave my name and phone number so she could let me know when they received them. No offense to Sara, but I honestly didn't think I would hear from her again. Most likely, I would never see her again, so it wasn't like I could walk in and ask where my Hydroflask was. Boy, was I wrong. She called me, to keep me updated on the status of their order. The first time she contacted me, I had honestly forgotten about them. She contacted me a couple more times, and I finally received them on April 3, 2018. For about five months, she kept me updated, and followed through with getting them to me. That is above and beyond great customer service. She was such a nice person to deal with, at the store, and a pleasure to speak to on the phone, each time. Thank you Sara, for being so sweet and following up on this. I was in the store in Kauai on Friday night and I ask for an XL teal hoodie. The salesperson was busy talking when I ask for help. They were not happy with me. Now I get home to Texas and I have a complete wrong size. I have called their store 6 times no answer just 'this mobile has not set up a voice mail' I called another store and got voicemail and left CB # no callback NOT happy right now. read more

Very good selections at this store. Awesome Hawaiian branded selections too which you can't get on the mainland. The store was very neat, clean, and organized. I'd highly recommend coming here if you like the surf style. Big shoutout to Sara too. She was probably one of the nicest people I've met. Super helpful and pleasant. She was working the store alone on the day I was there. It got pretty busy but she never seemed stressed or irritated. Nick was a great surf coach! Never tried surfing before, and he started me off in the sand for a few minutes to get me used to the postures. I stood up and rode the wave on the first try.
