I love textures and quality when it comes to clothes and that's why shopping when I'm on island is a must as they just have it sorted out! Sarah was so sweet about hanging with my 3.5 yr old while I tried on some pieces and I walked away with a cute pair of one teaspoon shorts and a basic white t shirt! The hand painted sarongs line one wall but the bed has Balinese batik silk sarongs in short and long styles that are incredible. I bought three and a sterling silver clasp. I loved all of them passionately so it was hard to choose. Silk scarves never wear out and neither will these. I bought several others as gifts to mail to relatives and friends. The shirts, blouses, bedding and gifts are definitely upscale. The shop is a regular trek for designers. While reasonable the designs are often one of a kind, so don't expect ABC price points. We live in California with a pool so buying quality makes a huge difference since we actually wear Hawaiian clothing. They are building a web site so online shopping is coming.

The Boogie Boards were old with flaps falling off that prevented us from catching good waves at Hanalei Bay and Poipu Beach. Make sure to inspect your gear before you leave! I didn't notice the quality of the boards until we were using them and seeing the rolls royce of nice boogie boards flying by us when we were trying to catch waves and going no where. Priced at $98. And this is one of the lower priced shirts that Kahala makes. Visited twice on different days while I contemplated the purchase. Met two different sales people who were both cheerful and friendly. Shirt is super well made, the fabric flows like the wind. It's supremely comfortable. If you are considering buying a shirt online the sizes run true.

On this trip to Hanalei, I had to see what was new because it had been at least 7 years since I had been on island. My only complaint about the clothing line itself is that their spaghetti strap dresses do not contain a shelf bra, so if you are on the bigger chest side of the spectrum, this may be difficult unless you have a really good strapless bra. From the moment I walked in, I was met with some high-pressure sales which was a major turn off. I have tried on their dresses before, but they are just not flattering on my body type. I am not fond of strapless bras because they tend to smash large breasts, and are too hot to wear, especially in the humidity of Kauai. Their line is stunning, and they have beautiful shirts for men as well. The dresses come with pockets which is a plus, but their items are extremely pricey, at $239+ per dress. Once again, I left empty handed due to the high-pressure sales, high prices, and lack of shelf bra incorporated into their dresses. I therefore I opted to wear a beautiful and colorful spaghetti strap dress with pockets and a shelf bra from Marshalls for $29.99 and still looked stunning. There is a location in Kapa'a as well. Beautiful clothing and 100% worth looking at.

Myrna helped me pick out two lovely dresses that I have received a lot of compliments on, and I had a really great shopping experience thanks to the both of them.
