We've been having our "fast food" hibachi here at the Fair Oaks Mall since 2018 and having tried the Warrenton location, I can definitively say that this is the location that has the best flavor out of the two - for both the hibachi and the sushi that they provide. Personal recommendations are the chicken hibachi with teriyaki sauce and yum yum sauce. As well as the shrimp tempura sushi. The veggies are a hit or miss - but the whole dish itself will still be pretty tasty - especially if you drizzle the yum yum sauce all over it. They used to do a promo where they'd give you a card and they'd punch it for you each time you ordered a hibachi, and you got the seventh one free - but I think they did away with it. Seating is limited at peak times, there's only like 5 or 6 booths, so you'd have to look elsewhere around the mall for a dining area. All-in-all, it's a decent place to get "fast food" hibachi. Located in Fair Oaks mall, this store has some fair priced quick bites or fast meals for you. Pretty standard menu, and I recommend eating everything outside of stores as the smell of some foods can be strong. If you choose to dine in, there are a few seats available, but the steam from all the cooking can be very loud, so I recommend eating elsewhere. This a great option for something filling for a great price! We ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi, chicken and salmon hibachi, chicken dumplings, shrimp tempura roll, and 2 extra yummy sauces and paid $32. Quick and polite service! We were starving and ate the sushi and dumplings on the way home but the shrimp tempura roll was my favorite! It was warm and crunchy but I think that's intended since it's fried but I loved it especially with the pickled ginger. My food was filling and so good I ate the majority of it without the yummy sauce in the car lol. No regrets stopping here for quick to go dinner! read more

I ordered their chicken bento box, which came with spring rolls and California rolls. The food was just okay: Stir fried chicken and rice okay, California roll fair, spring roll not very good, and a salad okay. Not something to write home about, but definitely on the better side for mall food. And it was fast (which is good for fast food). On the positive side, the staff were polite and accommodating, especially when I wanted some wasabi for the sushi in the box. Still, I'm not likely to try it again. read more

Do NOT order veggies all the "veggies" are is fried cabbage. The food was very very greasy, and had no flavor to it. Try to cover it up with teriyaki sauce, but didn't quite to it justice. I decided to check this place out because the Chick-Fil-A next door was closed. I ordered 2 chicken hibachis and I specifically wanted one to have white rice and the other brown rice. They already forgot that as shown in the photo. My personal complaint about this place is the fact that they made the beverage menus very complicated. I asked for Coke Zero and they said they only had Pepsi in bottles. Some other drinks were offered only in cans and some only in diets. That is why I removed two stars. They used to be good. Lately, it has been subpar and super SUPER SUPER SUPERFRRR stingy on their teriyaki sauce. I ordered teriyaki chicken bento and not a single drop of teriyaki sauce on it. I even ask if they include some on the side for me, twice. The second time I ask, they say they are going to charge if I want extra??? I went home and no teriyaki sauce on the food or on the side. Nada, took me over a week to force myself to eat the bland noodle and chicken because my kid would not have touch the disgusting tasting food. I avoided it afterwards for months. Then this week, I went back, thinking it's been some time, maybe the last time was just a mistake? Gave them another chance. Order a more simpler dish-teriyaki chicken. Again, ask for sauce on food and on side. What I got? A small, tiny container with teriyaki sauce, none on the food. Had bare enough for a few chicken. That was it. After wasted over $20 on teriyaki food without teriyaki, I am going to avoid it going forward. So ridiculous that they cannot put teriyaki sauce on a teriyaki dish. Then want to charge extra for teriyaki sauce they fail to give first time? Would give zero stars, but it was delicious previously (actually came with teriyaki sauce), so I factored that in, unless you order other non-teriyaki item or love your food minus the sauce, i recommend to avoid. read more

Over the weekend my roommate ordered some hibachi and seeing his leftovers in the fridge made me crave some for myself. Unfortunately, all the good restaurants in the area close at 2:30 so I was left searching for the best of the rest. Now I should preface, I went into this experience with low expectations. I'm literally getting a bento box from a Japanese restaurant in a mall during the mid-afternoon when most places are serving what's left over from the lunch rush. Somehow, I was still thoroughly disappointed by my meal. Let's tackle the biggest sin first: charging 50 cents for each tiny cup of white sauce. The overwhelming majority of diners that want Japanese food immediately go for it, and to be charged extra for every cup without including any with a combo is the worst cash grab I have ever seen. Can't blame them, though. That's knowing the market and finding the best way to make money off your customers. As for the food... I ordered a chicken and beef combo bento box. The meat was chopped so small that I could barely get it onto my fork and consistently kept falling into the small cups of white sauce. The food was exceptionally bland; I've tasted more seasoning at a family dinner in rural Iowa. (Guys, a little bit of salt and pepper goes a long way.) The California roll was falling apart as I tried to pick it up and was akin to the sushi you would get at a gas station in a moment of poor judgment. My drink was also slightly watered down and could certainly benefited from a little less ice. Two stars though, because for a place called Quickway the food was ready faster than many other hibachi places I've been to and the staff was very friendly. In summation, this is mall food. It is not designed to win you over. It is designed to fill a void in your stomach. That being said, this was still a letdown. read more

This place is dank. Some friends showed me this place because they wanted to get something cheap yet filling and tasty. Hibachi fulfills your needs and cravings. I ordered the chicken hibachi over white rice with mixed veggies for about $7 and it's super delicious. They give you lots of chicken and it's a large portion. I came around 2/3 pm on a weekday so there wasn't much of a line. If you're in Fair Oaks Mall and are hungry, this is the place to go to read more

If you need something to eat there's this place. It isn't terrible but it's not good either. Portions suck. You get 6 pieces of chicken, a half containers of rice and the other half of just cabbage when I specifically said no vegetables too. The teriyaki sauce also tasted funky. Like a raisin purée tbh. I went here like a year ago and it was super good!! But this time it was awful!! The sushi took forever and it didn't even have that much fish in it. It didn't taste super good and the rice was nasty!! It was soo sticky and I'm not sure what they put in it. I will never go back!! They charge high prices for terrible sushi!! quickway is always a filling meal with lots of rich flavors. the vegetable are usually cooked nicely and still have a little crunch to them. the yum yum sauce on the side is also always great. though today when i got the usual chicken hibachi, i was a little bummed out. the rice was very much clumped together, so i had to stab it over and over with my fork to separate it. the vegetables were noticeably cooked unevenly, some of them very crunchy and some of them mushy. it still tasted good, i just hope for a better experience with my food there next time. read more

Decently priced sitting inside mall, my family decided to try this place. we had following dish for the family of four: Bento beef box Bento beef and shrimp box chicken teriyaki dragon roll Shrimp tempura (3 pc ) they gave me a number on the receipt and I wasn't sure if we are supposed to pick up from the counter or not ( no clear instruction). while we waited for a bit, I've noticed that our food was at the counter top but nobody seemed to say anything until I went up to ask if it was ready ( it must have sit at least 5 min. or longer) they said it's ready, and asked if I want sauce( teriyaki sauce) on it. Looking at my beef bento box and beef and shrimp bento box, the beef was clearly overcooked and dry, unpleasant to eye as if this was reheated or left over from previous day. Anyway, asked for some light sauce on it figure it would help. Portion seemed pretty generous for 10plus bucks, but on my first bite, I regret so much coming here for lunch. 1. Food was luke warm due to sitting on top of counter. Considering they are cooking to order, I felt that it should be more hot and fresh but dried beef and some sort of funky smell from the vegetable killed my appetite. 2. when they charge .50 up charge for fried rice substitution, I would expect more than just adding teriyaki sauce and few pieces (literally "FEW" pieces) of peas. Taste aweful as if i'm tasting white rice with spoonful of teriyaki sauce. 3. Shrimp tempura was soaked in grease. I can taste oils in my mouth with every bite. 4. their version of dragon roll = shrimp tempura roll with avocado on top with again "Teriyaki" sauce drizzled on roll.... nasty we took few bites of each and couldn't bear, threw everything away left the place with aweful feeling. This small restaurant in Fair Oaks mall is A-Ok in my book. I do not eat anything fancy here. I have gotten sushi to-go on about 3 occasions from here. They have quick service and they are the only sushi place in the mall and they are cost effective (about $5 for 8 rolls) These are my reasons for going here. They only have a couple options for sushi so nothing too fancy- I have tried the Philly roll and most recently, the spicy tuna roll. Both were good- not the best but I wasn't expecting anything super. Their "yummy" sauce (house sauce) is very good though so I usually opt to use that instead of soy sauce. When I was here a couple days ago, I asked the cashier a couple questions about the menu and he couldn't answer me (didn't know English very well, I think) so he had to ask his coworkers who looked at me like I was asking an unreasonable question.. I asked what else they put in the spicy salmon roll (because they do not list what is in the rolls, they just put the name on the menu)- I wanted to know if there were cucumbers, avocado, sour cream, etc.. They just said it didn't have anything else (which I didn't think was entirely true). However, after I ordered the tuna, the cashier said that if I want he can have cucumber put in it my sushi as well- this was a nice gesture and I appreciated it. If you are looking for a quick and simple sushi meal/snack, this place is convenient and does the trick. read more
