I came here at night the other day and the other Quickly location I've been (in Chinatown) is worlds better than this one. First of all, there isn't much drink choices as there is in Chinatown. It's also more of a place to buy your drink and go. It's too cramped up and the cashier wasn't particularly friendly either. I ordered the Honeydew Milk Tea anyway and it came out very concentrated and sweet... Although the drinks are more expensive, Half & Half is just across the street. The quality of their drinks are much better and the staff are friendlier. Not planning to come to this Quickly location again. read more

It may not be quite as good as Sharetea's milk tea but at roughly half the price I have absolutely no complaints, and I'm usually in and out of there in less than five minutes. read more

Prices are unbeatable. I have never seen boba tea for such a steal. They have a special on their basic teas and I tried the Thai tea for .98c. It was awful. The mixture wasn't great because there was no mixture at all. It tasted like the Thai tea came from a bottle (which I wouldn't doubt). This place is so cheap, wow. For boba drinks under $3, I am always down. I ordered a matcha slushie with boba and the drink itself was sooo goooood. I feel like sometimes when I get matcha drinks, they don't blend in the matcha powder well enough and I end up getting chunks of it. But this place was great. The only thing is that the boba itself was really plain tasting. I love honey boba and I feel like when I was chewing their boba, it tasted like nothing. Also, I was looking at their food and it was also realllly cheap and looked pretty yummy too. For the price, I would be back, but I don't know if I would get my drink with boba! This review is solely for the popcorn chicken rice. For $5 including green/black/milk tea, it's such a steal. The rice comes with fried tofu, pickled vegetables, and soy sauce egg. The cleanliness of the store could be improved though. There's always some clutter on tables which makes it hard to sit down and enjoy your time there. My boss and I went here for lunch last week. We were looking for another shop with a similar name. We got spicy chicken and fries for the office. The amount of food you get for the price is very good. If you are into the whole juice bar/boba/tea type of place that is popping up all over the place you will probably love Quickly. I drink soda. I wish they had a few more food options that I like so that I could eat there more often. I will definitely go back next time I'm in the mood for spicy chicken stuff. That is kinda how I felt here... brought in chewed up and spat out as fast as possible... granted that is what I want when I am grabbing a boba on the go. I rolled up to this place on a 100 degree day and the proprietor is standing in the doorway with the door open looking for his next sucker err victim err patron. Well that was me. By the time I got into the store he was already impatiently asking me for what I wanted. Honestly I didn't know what I wanted yet and ended up spitting out lychee green tea w/boba. Pro Tip: They have some drink specials that change for $.99 ea here... Well the old guy wasn't making much sense (very bad accent or I have horrible hearing and likely both). Regardless he got my drink right, cheaper than the other quickly I go to more often closer to my house. They have a very small seating area here. They have like 3-4 tables tops. They also have a bookshelf with a ton of anime books on it to read while hanging out here if you are so inclined. It was quite refreshing, cheap, and just what I needed on a super hot day. Just be prepared to be run through the ordering and served process at breakneck speed... I ordered the Popcorn Chicken Rice meal today. While eating this, I found a DEAD FLY in the pork portion of my rice. I called them to let them know this and the employee insisted on trying to make me believe that it was a "fried piece of meat". After I took it back to the store, the employee took one look at the meal with the dead fly in it and immediately apologized. He gave me my money back. I remember coming here since I was in middle school, roughly 10 years ago. Back then, this was the spot to be and there was usually a crackin line out the door. Now looking at it, I'm surprised this place can stay afloat. Every time I drive by, the place has usually at most one customer or you'll see the owner just chillin outside in front. The interior has really taken a beating and they don't really maintain the cleanliness it was once had. There used to be friendly servers but the man who runs it now is a bit gruff and doesn't really rush you to order but basically expects you to know what you want already. I hadn't been back in so long so I had just stepped in the doorway, not even at the counter, and was staring at the menu board and he just says "what you want?" I just order a standard boba milk tea and a hot grass jelly for later. Really can't beat the prices since all the tea houses nowadays charges $3-5 for a drink. You can get 3-4 drinks here for that same $5! I think the milk tea was $1.10. It wasn't the best but its not like those janky watery milk teas you get for free when you order food at a Chinese takeout. Gets the job done. read more

Quickly. You see them everywhere (especially in this area). What makes this Quickly special from the others is that this is the first one. That's right. This is Quickly No. 1. The obvious difference between Quickly and what I consider more "high-end" tea places like Tea Station or Cha for Tea is the price. However, you get what you pay for. Since Quickly is in a different class than said "high-end" places, then I will not compare it to them. It would be like comparing McDonald's to Tommy's or something. Just unfair. Anyway, if you're looking for cheap milk tea that doesn't watered down, then Number 1 is definitely your place to go. Word of advice though: Don't order any food. Number 1 used to be a default meet up spot back in the day. My friends and I would just meet up and sit in front of the store for hours on end smoking and playing cards. Sure it looked shady, but it gave us a place to go and that's what made it cool. It still probably serves that purpose for the new generation of AZN kids. The reason why I rate Number 1 4 stars is not because of the quality of the milk tea, but the experience. If you order a drink and sit in front of the store for a couple hours (if they still allow it), I will guarantee you that you will experience the culture of San Gabriel Valley. The culture is then for you to decide whether you like it or not, but for me, even now, every time I pass by, I get that nostalgic feeling. read more

My 626 friends are always hating on the place, but for the price, I think it's great!! I tried the milk tea coffee. The coffee was strong and overall the drink was sweet and delish! I must admit the boba was a smidge too soft for my liking and the actual flavor of the boba was a bit lacking... but for only $2 a pop (HALF of what I would pay down the street!), this bobaphile is more than willing to be forgiving! In terms of the store itself, yeah it's a little ghetto, and teeny tiny, and okay it seemed a bit dirty too (seriously, do not plan on hanging there), but it gets the job done. Service-wise, the kids at the counter were attentive and the turn around time was less than a couple minutes. I came here once, not long ago, and had their popcorn chicken. It was raw. Straight up. Whoever was working the fryer gave up that night. This place is fairly cheap. My friend loves to come here and get the taro slushie for a little over $2 (this is before we discovered Cloud 9 and the super nice owner.) I really like the people who work here: they don't give you attitude. You'd think the sluggish business (actually, I'm not sure if business here is slow or not, but when we went, it was dead) would make the workers lazy and nonchalant. But no, the guy at the counter immediately stood at attention when we walked in, and asked us kindly what we wanted. This place is a high school hangout -- I think a lot of kiddies that play cards next door at Orbit make their way here after hours of battling each other with Magic cards, to quench their thirst and to return triumphantly to resume 3 more hours of intense card-slapping-down-on-table action. The place is small, but I have seen people still line up for drinks. I think the masses are finally tired of being jipped by paying $4 for their boba. Let's be clear: The only reason I come here is because of the cheapest boba around. $1.74 for a large boba milk tea so essentially I can get 2 for the price of 1 compared to most other boba joints, so I drink one then and take another to-go for the next day. I debated giving this place 2 stars and I'm generally a very patient, understanding customer but this business is pretty horribly run. Other than that this place is really in bad shape. The store is literally falling apart and dirty. Thankfully the drink order usually doesn't take too long so I can stand tolerably because the seats are old, dirty and look unstable. Haven't used the restrooms because honestly, I'm afraid to. I have ordered the popcorn chicken in the past and it was neither spectacular nor memorable, but due to the cleanliness issue I would not order food items from their menu again. One thing they are consistent about is their absolutely LITTLE to NO customer service. You're lucky if their staff even notices you're there, makes eye contact, or gets your order right. Not friendly at all and a pet peeve of mine - not handing back your change but making you pick up all the coins and dollars from their dirty counter. Forget about a simple thank you or if you happen to walk in and it's busy! I noticed someone order, sit down wait 5 minutes and everyone in line after them got their order and the staff made no apologies for the mistake when attention was called to it. There's one particular guy who works there who looks absolutely angry/depressed and miserable working there and it completely affects customers who frequent this location. Big turn-off and hope he isn't the son of the owner or a permanent fixture here because I may have to woman-up and move on to a more expensive but worthy boba place! We went to Quickly after stopping by Half-and-Half Tea Station one night after seeing that Half-and-Half was packed with people and they didn't have the sealed container for their boba milk tea (I desperately needed the boba container with a seal top to practice poking the seal with a thin straw, so I could be well-prepared to use the same technique to give vaccinations for my immunization lab the next day). This place is a little run-down, but to my surprise, the prices for their drinks and foods were cheap. I am from SF originally, and the prices at the Quickly stores are usually around $2.50 - $3.00 for a drink. We got one order of crispy chicken and two boba milk tea for under $6! The guy who took my order was very nice, and he generously gave me a big order of the crispy chicken (maybe it's just that I am so used to the SF Quickly giving me a small order for crispy chicken, which only fills up the bag halfway)! Just like all the other Quicklys in the area, this is independently run, which means service and upkeep is hugely variable. Unfortunately this place (or, this dump), looks nothing like it did many years ago. It's untidy, papers taped all over the place, signs are falling apart and ripping, and just down right dirty - yet I keep coming back for more. I've gotten their drinks here and popcorn chicken and fries many times. I think as long as I don't peek into the kitchen I should be fine. It's always the same guys working here, they probably own the place. The service sucks and is very matter of fact but it's just a boba shop afterall. Quickly on San Gabriel is known for their $1.11 Boba milk teas, and almost nothing else. The place is a popular hang out for neighborhood kids both young and old... old as in those of us 20-something-year-olds who have grown up with this place. Anyway, it's best not to order anything other than their $1.11 Bobas, because mostly any other drinks aren't that great. As for the snacks, they are pretty good (such as salted chicken, french fries, fried squid, etc) but those who work there would usually tell you that they have sold out of food items because they are too lazy to make them! If you can actually get them to make food for you, the Fried PorkChop rice is best! As for all you nerds out there, Orbit is just next door so you can get your boba on while playing magic cards all night or something :) read more

I'm surprised at the somewhat high ratings even though I'm sort of a regular here. I guess it's all about the value. Good cheap boba milk tea. Unfortunately I cant say the same about any of their other drinks I've tried. I like Jasmine boba milk tea so I get that every now and then, unfortunately they make this drink super inconsistent here. One day it'll be great, but 70% of the time it tastes all watered down. There's even been a couple of time where they forgot to add sugar!, so the entire drink was ruined. They also make the Almond milk tea too sweet. The parking here is a minus, because its pretty small so its always full. And even the store is pretty small, so its not necessarily a great place to hang out if you have company with you. But these guys are usually pretty fast. Get in, place order, get drinks and you're in and out within 15 mins. Basically if you want boba milk tea specifically and want it "quickly" this is the place for you. If you want any other drinks, go elsewhere. read more
