Horrible service, sure they can change a lock but so can I. I called them since I didn't have the tools or a spare lock. They charged me a $100 which was okay. The tech they sent was the biggest asshole I've ever met in my life. The way he spoke to me was ridiculous, I understand I paid for the lock changing service but I'm sure that also included some fucking respect from the tech. These guys were horrible!!! Took 2 hours for them to finally show up, then couldn't find parking and then almost left. I was quoted 45-95$ and he wanted to charge me 150$ at first then 125$ if cash then I called his manager and he told him to do 89$. Phenomenal customer service. I needed a car key replaced after losing it, they showed up very quickly after I called, and the whole process only took about 30 min to cut and program the new key. It also came out to be much cheaper than if I had towed my car to the dealership and had them replace the key. I found this company randomly, and finding a service provider in a random way rarely works out well in Miami. What a surprise it was to have a different experience. I have used their services many times now over the past 3 years (multiple properties) and always experience the same thing: extreme responsiveness, flexible timing to meet my work schedule; and sound advice as to what should be used to solve my issue. For example, they aren't going to sell you the pretty digital internet lock you might ask for, at least not without telling you they are less secure than the cheaper, old fashioned type. And the recommendations are always specific to the issue. For example, handling the locks on my home (with trusted person access such as housekeeper/dog walker) vs. a tenanted property (where priority is saving the expense of re-keying the main lock between each tenant) led to 2 different recommendations and solutions. Service is so good, and I trust them so much, I call David (owner) with my periodic issues as if he's a long-time friend. (As in, "Hey David, it's Ken.") It's comforting to know that if I'm locked out, standing in front of my house in the rain, it will not be for long. I know David will be ready to help me. Great, great company. MUST READ: To say that I had an absolutely awful experience with this company would be an understatement. For those of you who want a quick read, ill sum it up in 3 words: SLOW, UNPROFESSIONAL, ROBBERY. For those who care to read on: Unfortunately, I have found myself in need of a locksmith more times than I would like to admit so I am all to familiar with the different options available to get in when you are locked out. There is the classic lock picking, bumping (using a blank key), the credit card slide, drilling (a locksmiths gold mine) and then the customer favorite, the "under the door tool" (no clue what the proper name is). For those of you that do not know what I am talking about, the "under the door tool" is this thin, metal wire device (imagine an unfolded, flexible hanger), that slides under your door, hooks onto the door handle from the inside, and in just one swift, non-destructive motion, pulls the handle down and opens the door! It literally takes no longer than 60 seconds and the door is open - with absolutely NO DAMAGE to your lock. Why isn't this method always used you wonder? Because companies like Quickly Locksmith prefer to make a buck off of a person already in a bad situation with being locked out - and they are rude while doing it. As for my experience - its quite simple: I was locked out in the middle of the night (around 3am) with no phone, the front desk calls Quickly Locksmith (which I agree with other users, almost certainly has a deal of some sort with the building). The locksmith arrives over 1 hour after the call. The first question he asks - "how will you be paying for this?" After explaining that I had both cash and credit inside of the apartment but nothing actually on me (shocker, considering I was LOCKED OUT), he gave me a hard time about doing the job because I couldn't prove that I could pay. As if that wasn't ridiculous in and of itself, he then starts speaking in Spanish with the people who work at the building to see if they had already told me a price - incorrectly assuming that I couldn't understand every single word that he said. He then says to me (in English), "price will depend on how I get in." In an effort to avoid conflict, I just said ok and led him to the door. Before even looking at the lock, he takes out his drilling tools. I asked him to try less destructive methods first and he glares at me and says "are you the locksmith or am I?" Again, trying to avoid conflict, I apologize and nicely ask again that he try something else first. He does, but "can't" get it open. Just as he was about to start drilling I noticed the under the door tool in his bag, immediately stopped him from drilling, and insisted that he use that to open my lock. What do you know, about 45 seconds later, I was in my apartment with no damage to the door. Sounds like a happy ending right? WRONG. The guy charges me $150 for "his services and time" - ironic considering this whole thing would have taken 5 seconds had he not tried to scam me first by attempting to drill my lock right away. Could he really not get the lock open before or was that all just an act to make it seem like drilling my door was necessary? I vote the latter. And even if he couldn't get the lock open, why would he not trying to use the tool conveniently hidden in his bag before drilling my lock? I believe the answer is obvious - money, money, money. Had I not seen that tool stashed away in his bag, who knows how much I would have been paying him to replace my lock! Bottom line, this whole ordeal took over 2 hours of my time (when clearly the door could have been opened in under 1 minute), the locksmith himself was a complete tool (no pun intended), and I paid $150 for a service that has previously cost me no more than $80. David did a great work on placing a lock on a pocket door but charged U$200 for it + U$75 to replace an American handle lock. As I could see, he is a very busy person, the price has not been negotiated before his work. After he finished to install the first 2 items, and I finally asked him the price for each item, I declined to continue doing the work. I paid U$275 for a simple handle replacement and to install a pocket door lock. I am feeling like an idiot! Without mentioning the dirt he left behind. read more
