I was at almost at my end trying to update my MacBook Pro. With all the OS updates, photos and what I thought was little to no storage I was using, I kept receiving update requests and messages my disk was full. I called quick fix and they were able to take me in and tuned up my MacBook in reasonable and surprisingly quick turnaround time. Marin helped me throughout the entire process. I had my computer fixed at this place and I am satisfied with the results. It was worth paying for their service as I wouldn't have been able to diagnose the issue on my own. However, I was not contacted in a timely manner. I was told it would take a week to fix my computer unless I paid extra for their speedy service. I waited for a week from the day I turned it in, which was a Friday, but I didn't get it back until the following Monday. So technically, I waited for 10 days to find the issue and pick it up. The cost to fix a custom PC is an additional $50, totaling $150 for the repair. I experienced a black screen of death, and I tried to repair it myself, but it only made it worse. Hence, I asked for professional service. It turned out that my SSD hard drive had failed, prompting me to discard it and run with a single hard drive. Came here with a second hand laptop to have it tuned up and have an SSD dropped in, and felt like what I was charged was truly fair. Had a PC issue after installing a new GPU and after many troubleshooting on both software & hardware on my end, I still could not figure it out. Constant crashes in gaming, browsing website, watching media. Brought the pc to Quick Fix, and after 5 days, was able to retrieve pc. The repairman said it was mix of hardware/software issue and had repaired my PC. 2 months later, and no issues with PC at all. Professional group of employees. Very knowledgeable and great at what they do. One of the partners, I think his name was Paul, was very nice and informative on why my system was malfunctioning. He helped my identify the problem with my build. Both my motherboard and cpu were both dead, the reason I state this specifically is because I've been to multiple computer service shops before and if they identify only one faulty component they won't bother to test the rest for functionality which could lead to future headaches when the faulty part is replaced and the system still doesn't work. Also decided to purchase a standard case so I wouldn't have to ever bring in my components separately. There is one thing I have to state although I'm sure it was an honest mistake. The system I took in had a m.2 SSD underneath a heat sink on my motherboard. When I received my whole system back I assumed the m.2 was still under the heat sink and didn't bother to check since I'm not about to unscrew it open and check. However it wasn't until I got a new motherboard and wanted to transfer over the ssd that I noticed it was missing. I called and was able to retrieve it as they had taken it out to test its functionality. I understand it was an honest mistake and that in their thorough inspection everything had to be tested, however it was about a 25/30 minute drive one way so I was a bit annoyed. With that though I would recommend this place 100%. Price of service is unmatched. The service itself is unmatched. I did the rush job which was finished on time as promised. And they even put my M.2 in a case for me to transport back home. Although they are further than I would usually go for service, I would make the trip 9x over for their quality work. As a general tip for any service, make sure to check all your components are returned when you pick up the system to save yourself the hassle I had to go through. These guys are super nice. I have been using computers supplied by my employers for years or doing everything on my phone. So when my son got a gaming rig from his grandparents I had no idea what to do when the screen wouldn't display properly. These gentlemen could have very easily taken the computer and charged me a fee for diagnostics or whatever but they plugged it in and showed me what we had been doing wrong (wrong HDMI port) and charged me nothing. My computer crashed, and despite going through all the recommended fixes posted online, and working with an Apple rep, my computer would not turn on. Of course, I didn't have my files backed up. My laptop had one faulty port, which wouldn't have been a problem had it not been the only one that hooks into the docking station. I had no idea where to bring it, so I checked Yelp! and found a ton of positive reviews. Not only was I not disappointed but I was also bowled over by their professionalism. They cleaned out the port, which didn't work (note: I did pay for same-day service, as I need the laptop for work). They offered to order a new port, and that if it didn't work, I wouldn't be charged either for the port or the labor. I took Old Betsy home, and a week and a half later, they called to say that the port had come in. Well, it wasn't the port--it was likely the motherboard. And nope, I wasn't charged for that port, and they did tell me that I should just get another computer when this breaks down further. They gave me a recommendation, with no hard sell. My laptop was not working because I needed a new charger and they were able to figure out this issue quickly. I really appreciated that they offered a free diagnostic screening with a bit of a longer waiting period. It helped me because currently I have been pinched for cash. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because once they told me the issue, they offered to sell me a used charger for $55+ tax. I looked online and saw the exact charger they were trying to sell me for $45 NEW. I realized the charger they were trying to sell me was marked up by at least $40. I brought this up when I picked up my laptop to see if there was something extra special about the used charger they were selling me I didn't know about or if they would be willing to negotiate the price down, but all they said was, "we have to make a profit somehow." All of this is true and I wanted to support them since they did a free diagnostic screening, but I just couldn't buy a used charger that was $15 more than the brand new one. If the used charger was more reasonably priced, I definitely would have bought it though. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonable computer repair services. When my 2017 iMac recently started shutting down suddenly for no apparent reason, I freaked out. As a graphic designer, my computer is my livelihood and any amount of downtime can be disastrous. I looked at the usual Apple-authorized facilities within a 50 mile radius for appointments and they were ALL BOOKED SOLID. Luckily, I was able to borrow a computer from a friend to continue working, but the fact remained that I had to get my computer looked at, stat. After consulting Google and Yelp, this place came up with high marks, and since they fixed Macs too I gave them a call to see if they could help. I opted for their next-day diagnostic service for $59 because I really couldn't wait 5-7 days for their free service (they, like every computer place these days, were backed up). They called me the next day and said they found a lot of dust and cat hair in my computer (oops) and thought my OS could be corrupt, so they fixed all that and it passed the stress test they put it through, so it seemed like it was all fixed and I picked it up. They offer a 90-day warranty on all their work, so when my computer started shutting down again a couple of days later, I took it right back in, and this time they took my whole computer apart and inspected all the components until they determined that it was a power supply that had gone bad. So I got a new power supply, and they credited me the amount for the initial service they'd done that hadn't worked, so all in all, I ended up spending about $400 in total (diagnostics, parts, labor, RAM upgrade), which I feel very lucky about. The computer's been running like a dream these past few days and I'm crossing my fingers it will continue, but if anything happens in the next 3 months I know I can take it back in. I don't know if taking it to an apple-authorized place to begin with might have prevented that second visit, but considering how backed up everyone was, I think this whole process was still faster than waiting for an appointment to open up elsewhere. Overall I was pleased with the service and speed, and since they are very close to me they were a lot more convenient to deal with than going to a place farther out.
