It never crossed their minds, that blocking this communal driveway might be an inconvenience to the people who use it. How can a moving company arrive at a job underprepared, then bill the customer for procuring the very supplies they should have initially provided? Furthermore, we were charged by the hour for the two employees who went hunting for supplies. While two movers went supply hunting, and little to nothing was being done in our home, we were charged an hourly rate for 3 movers, because the moving company failed to bring necessary supplies, and by "supplies" I don't just mean boxes. I'm talking about the scissors, tape, tools, dolly, etc. We had been pleading with them for weeks to provide us with a detailed receipt because the charges for supplies were so inflated that we suspected an error. It required our assistant doggedly pursuing them day after day before they finally furnished us with an itemized receipt. This is not an honest company. It is poorly run, with poor leadership. If Yelp allows it, I am going to attach a copy of the invoice so everyone is able to take a look at exactly what this moving company sent us, the inaccuracies and inflated charges. I told him just a few simple things that were important to me in any move, which was shrink-wrapping of the items I wanted to be done that way, and how important my fairly new and expensive bed was to me because it was the last gift my mother bought me for my birthday before she passed away. I told him to be very careful with it and not to put it onto the floor - he listened and agreed readily. But when moving day had arrived, he flipped into major control mode, acting like it was all for HIS sake, and everything had to please HIM - he refused to do the very easy and simple things with some of my items that he had been so agreeable on over the phone about - right in front of me, he put one of the mattresses onto the floor, which wasn't clean that day due to people walking around for days before with me while we did packing preparations. I reminded him about the agreement and like a number of other things during the move, he had an excuse and brushed it off. Both movers were obviously very strong, Mario could have told his helper to keep it off the ground. They only kept the second mattress lifted because I was in the same room and told him if they both held it up it could be done. There were other issues created by his attitude that day which was upsetting for me, but the point of writing this review is about the bed - not too long afterwards, I discovered the build-in guard that was on one of the corners of the box-spring had been ripped half off - how they managed to cause this damage IF they actually DID put on the mattress cover as per our pre-move agreement. I tried to give Mario a chance to take care of this to save him having to deal with the Better Business Bureau and called him, but as I figured he would because of his disrespectful and overbearing attitude and behaviors that he showed up with on moving day - he continued with his extremely unprofessional behaviors and yelled at me at the same time I was speaking and falsely accused me of harassing him. His Mr. nice-guy act over the phone seems to be what he knows has worked many a time to get customers to hire his 2 man company for their moves. Because when he shows up on the day of the move with an entirely opposite attitude, it's too hard for the customer with all the stress of packing and moving to think of sending him away as soon as he starts acting up and trying to get another moving company to come over at the last minute. And that's how he manages to get away with what he does, it seems. When I was younger, I'd conscript a few friends and stuff a car beyond it's reasonable limits to save a few bucks. Ever cram a queen sized mattress into an Accord? I have. Anyways, time was of the essence for me to move out of my 2-bedroom apartment so I contacted these guys based on the Yelp reviews. Manel replied promptly and after I made my $100 deposit, we were off to the races. Moving day came and the two movers showed up with a massive truck. I'm guessing it was a 5 ton but I'm no expert but could've easily fit 3 times the contents of my condo. I guess they've probably helped a few hoarders with a move. The two guys (Jesse and I don't remember the other's name) ran 15 minutes late but called ahead to let me know. Once they got to work however, they were unstoppable. In just over an hour, they had my entire apartment in the back of the truck. (I also had packed and moved some of the smaller items already) Unloading at my new destination took a little longer due to a narrow entryway but they still navigated it like rockstars - and without any scratches. In total, the move took 4 hours. Their rate including the truck was $100/hr plus $100 delivery fee plus tax. I figure that's decent value. If I had to rent a truck and coerce some friends, it'd have taken me 3 times longer and I'd probably have to buy them dinner.

We did an initial video estimate and then the week of the move Ty came personally to see where things were at to ensure he had what was needed to be ready for moving day. They showed up on time. Their system was well executed, and they had us loaded very quickly. Igor, Manny, Daniel and Christian were very friendly, and professional, and took extra care with our fragile items. Ty was there for the loading as well, to ensure we had everything we needed. At the new place the unload went just as seamlessly and when the truck was empty they even took the time to ask if there was anything we wanted help putting together, and if we wanted them to move anything into a particular spot while they were still there. We did ask them to move a couple of the heavier items which they did happily. Payment was easy; the estimate was exact to the invoice. E-transfer payment was quick and simple. They are definitely competitive price wise, if not a bit better value than some of the larger companies and way better service. All around great team, great people, and i would definitely recommend them.

The second time was a nightmare, with them showing up with a 3.5 ton truck instead of a 5 ton truck, as was clearly communicated beforehand. Since we had to make a ferry reservation, it made everything morse stressful than necessary, with us having to deal with literally last minute solutions for left over stuff, turning over the old place to our landlady, loading remaining items in our own car, and helping the movers on top of it as some furniture had to be dissembled to fit in the truck. Although Ty brought anything they could not bring the first time, a couple of days later, there were too many damaged items due to the puzzle of trying to get everything into the small truck. Most damages were just labelled as 'can be easily replaced by going to the dollar store, or having a table top refinished locally, etc.' But Ty never followed up on it, instead mentioned that we had not bought the proper insurance (which was never offered in the first place). He gave us $500 off, but that does not make good for all the trouble we had. and all the damages, with some of them discovered after the move. The damages were: a broken high quality fan, a completely scratched dining table top, damaged artwork, two damaged standing lamps, one damaged storage unit, a broken antique pendant light, and almost all furniture with some new scratches, dents, and other minor damages, including damages from the tape that was not properly used. Having said this, the movers were friendly, and Ty is a nice person; but this was not handled as expected and with the care needed, also with never following up on him promising us the needed repairs. Even if only some small plastic parts (e.g., a wheel part, a fastening ring) are broken, it does not mean they can be easily replaced at the dollar store. If we had to repair and replace everything, it would easily exceed the $500 offered. I have moved over 20 times in my whole life, but this was by far the worst experience ever. I can only hope that they will handle your next move better.
