I needed a container for a stool sample due to possible contiguous situation. I quietly asked for a container and he yelled at me to make an appointment. I said I just did he said you can wait about 3 hrs. Very rude asked me who said I could just pick when up. I had an urge to go to the restroom. The gal at urgent care gave me one. As she was giving it to me I heard the quest tech yelling about if you don't have an appointment blah blah so rude to people. I've been in the medical field over 30 years. I had an appointment, got the text to check in, then they said it says to wait in lobby, no need to check in again. Simple right? They called my name and I guess I didn't get up fast enough, cuz they shut the door before I could get there. I was only 5 feet from the door. I knocked and when I fold them they just called me, she said no they didn't. I said yes you did, why would I be standing at the door if you didn't. Mind you there was a bunch of people that said, yes you did call her. The person then proceeded to tell me that that person was already helped, so you have two people with the exact same name getting tested???? Ummmm, nice try! She then closed the door again and called two other people before someone called me in to sit and wait for the next person to do my blood work. Really??? Waited 1.5hrs for a TB test appointment to only be told that I had to pay for the test prior to the appointment. This was after they called me back for the test. I was willing to pay at that moment and informed that I had insurance, but I was dismissed with no help. Staff wanted me to wait longer and stated that the payment may take 24hrs to process. QD site allowed me to schedule a TB without paying, and I was very upset with the lack of accommodation. Even if they could not see me, the lack of empathy and customer service made me seek elsewhere to ensure better service. read more

I've had visits at this place that were fast, but today visit was terrible. It took an hour (with an appointment). I checked in 20 minutes before my appointment time. I was called in 20 minutes after my appointment time. One patient had the same appointment time as mine, checked in after me, and was serviced before me. Several people arrived after my appointment time were serviced before me. I asked two workers and they were dismissive and rude. No one did anything to try to rectify the issue. I was also asked if I want to make a "copay" in the amount of $1. I figured it's only $1, why not? The receipt came out to $1.42, which is not a big deal. However it's not an actual copay, but only an estimated amount. Quest will only charges the credit card after insurance has processed the claim. Patient will get a bill if the patient responsibility exceeds the pre authorized amount. It seems like a trick just to get the credit card number on file. read more

I cant speak for this location in general but on the day I visited, the staff were all taking extended lunch or something and no one even came to the lobby about 30 min past their said lunch time. Of course at least 15 of us all complained as they showed up. They did not even give insincere apology and pretended this was usual. Well, the only thing positive was that once I was in, I was out in 2 min. They were so much in hurry that they were talking to me even before I sat on the chair (I was here to draw 5 vials of blood) and didnt even ask to check my nane on the label on the vials. read more

I do NOT recommended this location. Even with an appointment, and arriving the recommendation 10 mins early, I waited more than 40 minutes. This has happened on two separate occasions. There were any other patients in the waiting room who were experiencing the same issue and were greatly frustrated. This office has also eliminated the human receptionist at the front desk. Patients are required to check in on a tablet type kiosk. The is no receptionist! I witnessed many elderly patients who were very intimidated or unable to check themselves in. And since there is absolutely no office staff available to help, these patients became very frustrated. Myself and other patients helped some elderly and non-English speaking patients navigate the kiosk and check in. Without a receptionist, there is no one to ask if you have questions. The only human interaction is with the phlebotomist who calls your name and takes you in for the blood draw. When the phlebotomist would open the door to call names, some patients would ask them questions regarding check-in and wait time. The phlebotomists were visibly irritated by the fact that they are now forced to serve as the office receptionist. Of course this likely slows down the blood draw process for the phlebotomist and pushes the schedule further behind.. Patients are forced to knock on the door and get the attention of a phlebotomist to answer check-in and wait time questions. During my blood draw, a persistent patient kept knocking to the point where the phlebotomist was interrupted. I will not return to this location due to long wait times and lack of customer service. If you plan to use this location, I suggest you make an appointment for first thing in the morning, before they get behind on their appointments. Also know that if you have any problems or issues during check-in then there is NO ONE to speak to and help. read more

Had to get bloodwork done (routine physical) Would have given 1 star but they get 4 [All because of the great lab tech Kalina. Shall explain] Due to Covid: It is very strange. You have to make an appointment otherwise there are no guarantees they will see you at all. See all the negative reviews (Even for something as quick as drawing blood) Its cumbersome and annoying. Anyways, after fasting for 10 hrs I go. My first time there. The receptionist Deborah is beyond rude to everyone. Absolutely no help whatsoever. Acts like she cannot be bothered with anything. I've met prison guards who are nicer than her. It doesn't take anything just to be nice. I did get called in before my appt (which was good) As someone who hates needles. The Lab tech Kalina was a total sweetheart. Made the process pleasant and super easy. This place would be getting 1 star and be avoided completely due to their confusing appt system and horrible front desk lady. Think of the impression she gives customers. I was a walk in mind you, so they may give great service to appointment patients but I was asked to go wait in my car , because I was a walk in and I would be notified an estimate for a wait time. Understand I was waiting in the lobby before they opened. I waited more than a hour with no text message or phone call update. So I decided to go home and wait for the estimated time. At about 2 hours I get a phone call with not an estimate of time, but with a notification to go back in. The person on the phone asked if I was in the parking lot, and I explained how I waited for the estimate for time. She said she didn't give that to me. I told her I know that, and so I decided to go home to wait for that update, but since I was not in the parking lot they said they were going to call the next patient. Sorry to say, but to tell someone to wait in there car for almost 2 hours and no updates, to only take them off the list is pretty disappointing. The person couldn't even tell me another estimate of time, and said I would just have to make the appointment online. If an appointment was available I would have made one, but since there wasn't I've always was able to get into the other quest locations with no problem on a walk in basis. Sure, bad planning on my part, but terrible service on theirs. No follow up and doing what they say they are going to do. If they told me it would be a 2 hour I would have known to wait. If they said it would be 3 hours I would know that I have time to go back close to the time available. Good luck and I hope everyone else has better service with them. read more

Had a 1pm appointment that I made the day before. Checked in at 1:02 on the tablet. There were about 7 people in the waiting room. Saw 2 walkins were waiting on the monitor. We were called back about 1:10. Out the door at 1:14. They were very efficient and friendly!! Not sure what all the complaints are about but our experience was great! so quick and easy! I had two paper orders in hand for my son, yet they refused to do one because it didn't show in their system. I'd spent a long time that morning speaking to customer service after reading all the terrible reviews, to ensure they are able and have equipment for pediatric blood draws. And had confirmed over phone the paperwork was sufficient before even booking or bringing said child. Yet, todays visit was still a disaster. Do you know how frustrating this is as a parent, to have called ahead to make sure child's apt will go smoothly, then have rude staff and only half the tests able to be completed. Even with having each paper order in hand, all while I'm holding a squirmy, upset, stressed out child. There seems to be a serious disconnect between customer service/corporate, the app, and the actually system the techs see. I didn't want to have to bring him twice or have him poked twice. Just when I think Hoag can't get any better with their health centers and accessibility they go and open a brand new center that is sparkling clean and super quiet and peaceful! If thought the Sand Canyon location was great this one might top the cake! Instead of having an onsite lab like the Sand Canyon location they put a Quest lab inside this one and it's easy breezy! Especially if you make your appointment online way ahead of time like I do! I always make my mom's appointments 2-3 weeks ahead of time. We have noticed that the lab inside the Sand Canyon location has gone downhill over the last year and after leaving feeling frustrated and in pain from being poked I told my mom next time let's try a different location and sure enough this location is a winner chicken dinner! First off it's located inside the Hoag health center which is in the new Kensington Park shopping center. There's tons of parking and it's so quiet coming here! I didn't even feel like we were at a medical center much less a Quest! There's 2 iPad tablets to sign in and within minutes after signing in someone calls you up and you proceed with your orders and insurance/ID. While my mom was taking her labs, I was reading while I waited and it was so peaceful and kind of homey feeling. Nice window seating too! A nice employee came out and apologized to keep me waiting! I let her know I wasn't waiting to be called back but just waiting for my mom. Talk about exceptional customer service! Within 30 minutes we were finished and the best part, my mom didn't come out hurting or in agony! It's as if she never had her blood drawn! She said her tech was precise and painfree! Total night and day difference from the Sand Canyon location! This will be our go to for her routine blood work not to mention it has my favorite.. Dunkin Donuts so you can get your coffee fix too! I'm old-school and believe in having humans at the front desk, so I dislike this trend intently. I also agree with another reviewer, who said if you are punching in all this information on the kiosk, or you pre-registered before coming, why do you have to give all your information yet again to the technician? Other than that, the technicians are usually always friendly and competent. Walked in today with my 4 year daughter. The gal who took care of us was really sweet and professional. Showed me how to hold my daughter(wrap my legs around hers and hold the other arm) really simple and had someone else come help her hold my daughter arm. Few days ago walked into a quest and did not have an appt at 930am and there was 2 patients in the waiting room and was told no more appts available schedule an appt. So I did schedule one and arrived 20 mins early and have been standing 20 mins at their front desk and they have no receptionist and no employees checking on the long line of patients waiting. The kiosks to check in are not working. Not sure what the problem is at Quest but they are on their way down down. I will no longer go to quest. read more

Honestly, this was the first time I didn't want to pull my hair out after having to use a Quest facility. I'll admit, the online appointment software sucked, but that's not the fault of this location. We arrived early, the check-in using the kiosk was a breeze! There was a gentleman there who'd had an issue with his appointment, and the staff all seemed very kind to him, and it appeared that they got his stuff corrected and he was happy! My husband and I were both there for blood tests from our respective doctors. My husband really struggles with a phobia of needles and especially blood work, and the nurse taking care of him was so sweet to him. She actually brought him into my same room, and I was able to help get him through it. She even used the butterfly needle on him to try and decrease his pain and discomfort. I've had horrible experiences at other Quest facilities, so the attitudes of the staff and ease of using this location made this a breeze instead of a nightmare visit as usual. read more

They make you sign in without any estimate but more importantly without any intention to take you off the list! After one hour waiting keep asking and she gave me an attitude and a robotic response that there is no guarantee to get in. She also said 3 or 4 hours is the typical wait time! 4 hours!!!!! Who in the world will be here for 4 hours to get lab work? This definitely doesn't look like a health care place. Here nobody cares!!! I have been going to Quest for so long it has been at 3 locations now. The newest is nice and clean and in the same shopping center as an awesome Stater Brothers store that I read is an acre in size. Everything started out well, I made a same day appointment and was taken at my scheduled time. The technician did a good job. I paid to have a simple blood type test. It was just a curiosity. A week later still no results. Glad I did not have a life threatening problem, I would be dead by now. Very, very disappointed!! read more

Tech was great! Outer office was friendly on 7/15. My daughter however went today with an appointment. She pressed " Ill wait outside" on the kiosk check in . She was never texted. They only called her name inside. At 10:30 it was crowded, a problem due to sm waiting area. She was told she was 89th in line. Receptionist told her to ignore that number. Other people arrived without an appointment. She took them anyway which made for long delays. Nobody ever cleaned the kiosk pad between check ins . It's a new beautiful location. I arrived at 8 15 this morning for a blood test. First, the door was locked to the area where they test without a posted notice that you need to enter at the main entrance to the building. I waited by this door for someone to open, but eventually someone from the parking lot told me about the main entrance. Very confusing. Meanwhile about 6 people arrived ahead of me through the main door while I waited. Next there wasn't anyone at the desk, so I waited in this line for maybe 5 minutes before someone told me I needed to sign in at the kiosk. I didn't have an appointment, so thought the kiosk was for those who do. (This is how it is at any Kaiser office) So again, 4 people got ahead of me. Then after registering, the posted sign above told me the wait time for my name was 27 minutes. Last straw, 1 and 1/2 hours later, it said my wait time was still 17 minutes. So knowing this meant (maybe another 45 min to an hour) I left without taking my test. Suggestion to management....1. Place a sign at the outside door telling those arriving to enter at the main entry. 2. Place a sign near the kiosk to first register/sign in here. 3.Hire more staff since this is a growing local it seems. 4. Have a staff person available somewhere to welcome and guide you, or give you a heads up that the sign above with your name and wait time is at least double or triple what it says. I will not return....but the furnishing are beautiful! read more

I made an appt for my toddler online & registered him online as well just to make the process easier. Arriving to the location, we had to option to wait in the car until my son was able to be seen. We didn't wait long at all & before entering the hoag building we had our temperatures taken. I've never been to this quest before but this one by far is the friendliest & most cleanest. The nurses that drew blood from my son were very gentle with him as well patient. I recommend this quest to my mother in law as well & shes loves it just as much. Highly recommend! read more

Clearly they did not if they had to take my info and number to get back to me because the lady that took it originally went to lunch. I was received a call at 10:00, as they had a cancellation and they said if you can get here in 15 minutes we can admit you. I did and they did. I really appreciated the great service they provide. I was hoping to add a positive review for this location (as my visit last week was quite positive), but after my experiences today, I can't (in good conscience) give a high review. Firstly, the location closes from noon to 1. I found this out the hard way, as I ventured out to the office during my work break only to find no receptionist or away sign posted. This was a bit frustrating, as I waited around for a while and ultimately left, since I had to return to work. (I needed to drop off a sample and was previously advised to arrive at any moment, during business hours, as no appointment was necessary for drop off.) Note: They have no drop box and there was no way to leave a message. Imagine my profound disappointment when I returned at 4:05 p.m. to find a sign posted, stating that business hours are from 8-4, and not as listed here or on the Quest Diagnostics site (from 8-5). A bit infuriating, to say the least... (taking into account that I carried 'drop-off items' with me all day. I'll add that it is pointless to call their contact number, as you will absolutely not be speaking to an actual human being. I lost so much time/energy/ etc. today because of their inaccurate information. I sincerely hope that this review helps prevent other patients from having an equally disappointing experience. read more
