PA Stella Lee is amazing, I had two visits with her and I felt like she really cared, unfortunately the way this clinic runs is a little odd... 2 times the RNs gave me wrong supplements so when I got home I was all confused with the supplements that were in my bag and also very confusing with the instructions given in person and instructions that were in my patient account, both instructions of different supplements were completely different... mind you this happened twice! When I contacted someone at the office they just said: Follow the instructions that are in your account... I can tell there was a huge miscommunication between the nurse and the PA and that's probably the worst thing you can have in a medical office The other issue that happened here was the billing... I wish the front desk was more truthful about how billing and your insurance works... there's a reason why there's a billing department in the clinic right? To make sure they explain everything to the patient, Well I was so confused on why I kept paying $145-151 per office visit plus a deductible and when I spoke to someone on the phone they pretty much said that's what I have to pay every visit to meet my deductible, again I wish someone from the office would've explain this to me from day 1 and not just say "your insurance covers everything" The staff was friendly don't get me wrong but I can tell they are very busy and don't really care about explaining things to you because they don't have time, to me this clinic felt like your typical medical clinic that there's so many people, waiting and waiting to be seen etc... I had a mixed experience at Lam Clinic. The best part of my visit was the nurse practitioner, Lynn. She was warm, informative, and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. I never felt pressured by her, and it genuinely felt like she was there to help me understand my options and answer my questions. Unfortunately, my interaction with Dr. Carrie Lam left a very different impression. She spent less than a minute with me and seemed primarily focused on discussing the clinic's membership program. I was disappointed that she did not appear to go over the details of my visit with Lynn before speaking with me, which made the interaction feel rushed and impersonal. The same feeling carried through with the rest of the staff as well. Aside from Lynn, the overall tone felt cold, and there was a strong emphasis on memberships, supplements, and additional spending. I completely understand that clinics need revenue streams, but the pressure to spend money seemed to take priority over making me feel cared for as a patient. I left very appreciative of Lynn's care and professionalism, but wishing the rest of the experience had felt more patient-centered and less transactional. I have been coming to the clinic now for a few months, which has given me a bit more insight into the practice. I am sure this clinic has been beneficial to some. My experience thus far is that although I initially had high hopes, certain instances have caused me to question the expertise and thoroughness of the care I have been given. When going over my blood test results, my ferritin score was 26. I have been brushed off as normal because I am within range by other providers, so I thought coming to Lam Clinic would be different. But my LAM provider said it was "normal". Upon my second follow up, I brought it up and they said agreed it was low and suboptimal, but only after I raised the issue. For me, this was a red flag especially because one of my main issues is fatigue. Another major issue I have is that supplement guidance was poor. I take Levothyroxine and there was no initial mention by my provider about taking it away from other supplements. I was told to take one supplement which is heavy in calcium with my breakfast, but then came to realize on my own, if I have a breakfast high in iron that the supplement would inhibit the iron absorption. I have been given numerous supplements that add up monetarily. They are also hard to keep up with because some require me to take them at specific times of the day, which is difficult due to my schedule and because I have to time them out with meals, etc. I initially told my provider this was going to be hard but they didn't seem to understand why. I found this insensitive from my position as a the mother of a young child with a chronic illness, who also has several physical issues I am working through. It was also off putting to me that when I said I didn't want to continue with the IV nutrient infusions because I already completed the 6-7 rounds recommended, they kept suggesting I do it because my insurance covered them. They said something along the lines of, "People really like it and they pay out of pocket. You are only paying the minimal payment." She suggested I go back weekly. But when I revealed my family is a one income family at the moment, what is inexpensive to someone might not be accessible to another, the treatment plan changed. I understand maybe this was coming from a place of trying to help me get back to a place where I thrive and not just minimally function, but it rubbed me the wrong way. Finally, I asked my provider if my progesterone estrogen ratio indicated I was in perimenopause and they initially said, "No, you have a lot of eggs," (which I don't know how that would have been measured, given I also only have one ovary). This left me very confused due to my symptoms and test results. However, at my second follow up I brought it up again and they said the number was indicative of perimenopause. This was another red flag, leaving me to wonder if I can fully trust what I am being told. I asked to see the doctor because I was being seen by an NP, but was told seeing the doctor was only allowed by people who have a membership to LAM, whereas I use insurance. I find that I keep having to do my own research, be my own advocate, fill in lots of gaps in the translation of knowledge/care advice to everyday life and practical routines. My trust in my provider is moderate. Staff has always been friendly and kind. Referral for more support from a counselor, dietician or occupational therapist to help with dietary, lifestyle and habit change would be helpful, but not discussed during sessions. read more

Unfortunately, I thought they really cared about their patients. I came in in the month of April to get liver scan. I was told that it wouldn't be performed until I paid my past balance from August and October. When I asked for the reason, the receptionist told me it was for the IV treatment. That was a year ago, they had sold me into believing that I would only pay a deductible and my insurance would pay the rest. They were very pushy into getting additional service while getting the IV treatment. Although I denied any additional add-ons to the IV bag, I was still hit with a bill a year later. They claimed that my insurance will take care of it, I paid the deductible and the $25 additional charge for the mixture. Now a year later they tell me I have to pay this, Bill. If they would've given me the option to get IV treatment out-of-pocket I would've declined.
