I went to Dr. Kinlay last year for a period of six months. I was having extreme digestive problems and thyroid issues and wanted to get to root cause. At first I was hopeful when seeing her because the first visit is very in depth. She instantly prescribed a ton of supplements, however made me buy from her office. When I asked if I could get from full script, much more affordable for same products, she said she would refuse to give me the quantity And dosages, that should have been my first red flag. With return visits you are charged per time, however every time I returned she completely forgot my case, I had to spend 20 minutes reminding her what was wrong with me, wasting my time and money. She was all over the place and chaotic every visit, throwing tons of things at me hoping something would work. Nothing ever did, I wasted thousands of dollars. The straw that broke the camels back for me was month six when I got my stool test back, she said that my case was curious and she had to take more time to try to think of what to do with me - never a good sign when you stump your doctor. She said the solution would be for me to go vegan and take the same supplements that weren't working and costing me $500 from her office that would cost $300 on fullscript. I got a second opinion from a naturopath where she easily diagnosed me, had me eat a more reasonable diet, and had me on supplements for only 3 months that cured me. My main issue with this doctor is her lack of organization, our chaotic energy, could not remember what was wrong with me, forcing me to only use her high priced supplements, and lack of knowledge in complex cases. I have Since worked with 2 naturopaths which are amazing, save me money by prescribing me things in fullscript, and actually care about my health versus sucking me for money. I encourage you do choose a different doctor and not waist the thousands of dollars and countless hours working with her. I regret SO MUCH coming to this office and spending close to 2k out of pocket. I almost have PTSD from here. I had an hour consult which consisted majority of Dr Kinaly taking my daughter's history. I know of other facilities that take the patient's history beforehand so that you can just review it which leaves more time for a better consult. Dr Kinaly asks if there are any additional questions or what not but of course she doesn't mind cus she charges so much by the minute!! So at the end, she just says "I have some idea in my head" without much explanation and provides 10 supplements provided at her office that costs over another $400. Here's what really irked me.. I like to look into the supplements I give my daughter and choose the ones that I think are of good quality and do my research. I asked her if she could just give me the name of the supplement and the dosage so that I could buy the ones I want. She got so offended and refused to give me the name & dosages of the supplements my daughter needs unless I buy it from her!!! Are you kidding me??? I found Dr. Kinaly when I had a nasty flare-up of ulcerative colitis. Most doctors would have put me on steroids and possibly removed part of my colon. Dr. Kinaly resolved the flare-up in a week or two with a regimen of over-the-counter pills & probiotics, with some diet changes. No adverse side effects or surgery. I've been maintaining symptom-free for a few years now with only turmeric, probiotics, and some diet changes, thanks to her. Okay so, I have been through a lot. I had a mystery illness no one could figure out, so I decided to see if I had lyme disease. If you go online there is a spew of crap about having lyme disease and treating people for it if you only have the symptoms... First off thats insane because the symptoms for lyme disease are symptoms of MANY different diseases! This doctor charges up the ying yang for basically nothing. This doctor basically checked off a check list for lyme disease and said 'well you have lyme disease!' And gave me antibiotics. The antibiotics made me feel like absolute crap I felt like I was dying. I couldn't eat, I honestly thought they would kill me. She also tested me for some random viruses (I had antibodies for herpes 6 & mono which 95% of the population has!!!) and she gave me antivirals. I didnt take them thank god. She had me take all of these horribly expensive tests in their office and then they basically tell you "you submit it to your insurance for a refund and we will charge you for it right here" she also gave me a ton of vitamins to buy costing over $1000. I'm an idiot and I didn't read the ingredients of the vitamins but they were things I could have bought on amazon for $10-30 dollars myself. The doctor just gave me a weird feeling, she is all over the place, total scatter brain spaz. Thank god I trusted my better judgment and bailed on this disaster. I got tested with a 10 week culture test for lyme disease and it was absolutely negative. Also this doctor had me do these IV vitamins and IV hydration that made me feel EVEN WORSE. She gave me penicillin shots which probably did my body harm as well! Don't trust these 'holistic' doctors they take people who are desperate and sell them snake oil and smile their shit eating grins as they rob you of your money. This review has taken me a long time to write because it was hard for me to get past the rage and grief of thinking I found treatment for PANS/PANDAS kid and receiving such terrible care. We parents of these kiddos are a very vulnerable community. Please do not bring your kiddo here. Dr. Kinaly seems very kind and like she cares a lot, and that is compelling; however, their approach is totally cookie cutter (classic anti-inflammatory diet that you can find *anywhere* online) at its best. At its worst, it includes Dr. Kinaly's son, who is verbally abusive and truly, practices medicine without a license by calling to do the "follow ups" (that you pay for) and tell you everything you should be doing with your kid. When you ask him why, he attacks you. In fact, if you have any serious questions or issues, they become extremely combative. Parents, there are amazing pans/pandas groups on FB and lots of parent experiences with so many different treatments. Please don't think you've finally found your doctor because they found a marketing niche and are playing hard to it. I know how hopeless and exhausted you must be feeling right now, because I feel it constantly. We have made some progress elsewhere, and we are still looking to level up some more, but this experience set me back emotionally, and with time and energy in a way that is hard to describe. By the way, I now know of two other parents (from pans/pandas FB groups - I don't know them personally - that had horrible experiences here too, left reviews here, and their reviews were taken down). This is not okay. This was my real experience. Although you may PM me, I'm not on Yelp a lot these days since things have become so hard. Claimed latent Epstein-Barr, Herpes 6, and Herpes1 were causing tiredness. Except, 95% of adults have latent EBV, about 100% have latent herpes 6 from Roseola as a child, and 50% have herpes 1 causing cold sores (another 15% have herpes 2). Tests were completely unnecessary and interpretation nonsensical-- you'd have a hard time finding someone without latent viruses to see if they were healthier. Diagnosed "oral thrush" from across the room without looking closer or exploring normal causes of a white tongue (like congestion causing me to breathe through my mouth frequently, difficulties with oral hygiene, and fasting for expected blood tests). Then recommended a solution I might be allergic to even after I disclosed allergies. The Lyme disease lab she uses, iGeneX, is known for a high rate of false positives and doesn't follow CDC guidelines. At least two of the diagnoses put on the form were flatly contradicted by blood test results. Basically, a business model of running a lot of tests to find a scary sounding result and encourage further visits. read more

This office is terrible at returning calls to patients and has difficulty returning calls to the pharmacist. I have been a patient for many years and I have struggled with the front office, as well as communication w/ the office manager, if you can get them to answer. Days turn into weeks without return phone calls regarding refills and change in Rx's. Pharmacy struggles with them as well. It is a disorganized office, bumbling around on the phone, changing Rx without warning or without knowledge and then change it again. Order repeatedly wrong blood work, over and over, causing extra charges for the many vials of unnecessary blood drawn. Poorly run office which is dangerous. I have brought this up with the office manager, to my dismay didn't show any empathy or remorse for what I would consider to be a serious concern. read more

I have been going to Dr. Kinaly for several years now. The difference between her and other doctors is that she manages your health on a proactive, holistic basis. She does targeted blood tests (which are, admittedly, expensive) and prescribes supplements based on the results. A couple of years ago, when I had my first bone scan, the results showed that I had osteopenia (the early stages of osteoporosis). Dr. Kinaly prescribed a supplement for me, and the latest bone scan I had done several months ago showed no osteopenia at all. So, as she predicted, the supplement completely reversed the osteopenia. Dr. Kinaly also spends a lot of time with you and actually listens to what you have to say. She questions you about your diet, exercise, etc. She is not in my insurance network, so my copay is much higher, but it is worth it. I don't think I've been sick a single day since I started going to her, and as I'm now in my 50's, I am grateful that I have someone to manage my health on a holistic basis. read more

Unresponsive and NOT helpful. I came to Dr. Kinaly already equipped with test results and a diagnosis that had a pretty clear and established treatment regiment. I only went the integrative medicine route because I was concerned that there might be additional factors that might need to be addressed and also because I was under the gun time-wise and if it wasn't addressed I will have to make SERIOUS life changes, and I didn't want to have to wait for referrals and such from the standard medicine route. Rather than dealing AT ALL with my identified issue, Dr. Kinaly ordered up 25 (I counted them) different supplements (all for sale at her office btw) and hundreds of dollars worth of useless tests that were completely unrelated to my issue (possibly even thousands of dollars--I stopped adding after the first two tests came in at over $800.) NOT A SINGLE RECOMMENDATION ADDRESSED MY PRIMARY DIAGNOSIS!! And THEN, when I called to ask if she could prioritize her recommendations so I could do just one or two things and see if I was going to have a bad reaction--crickets! Haven't heard a word since I called with that questions. It was a COMPLETE waste of money and more importantly time, which as I said I don't have much of. This is the most thorough doctor and staff I have ever been to. They dig deep into your health history to connect the dots on your current health issues. I could spend hours with Dr Kinaly. She is brilliant and compassionate. She truly cares about her patients. She is so invested and listens to all your concerns adressing them, targeting them on all angles and getting to the root. She recommends supplements (that work!) but she isn't pushy. She has a lot supplements that are kid friendly chewables or small liquid solutions that can mix in juice and even under the tounge droppers. I spent a year trying to find an answer to my childs sudden change in behaviors. I was told he needed psych meds and therapy. With a few blood draws that showed he had excessive yeast and PANDAS syndrome some treatment and he is back to himself. Happy and full of joy. We never have behavioral issues now. I am so relieved that I found Dr Kinaly!!!! I have been searching for a primary care doc for years and never enjoyed the process of getting my annual physical. This experience was completely different! The office is beautifully decorated, relaxing, and warm and inviting. I am so happy I will never have to look elsewhere!! I am an athlete on a plant-based diet and make the effort to be as healthy as possible, so it is important for me to know if I am deficient in any vitamins or minerals. They don't do the basic blood test here, but a comprehensive panel that checks for literally everything - the report is 17 pages! When we checked out, they said we had to pay more for extra time with the doctor because she couldn't see other patients. We were the only people there. When we saw the prescriptions were not filled. We called and called to try and get a hold of them. No response. They told us they would call it in the same day and send us a statement for insurance which they never did. They take advantage of people. This is not a real doctor and this place needs to be shut Down. DO NOT GO HERE. Message me for details. They lied about everything. Completely ignored our calls. We got no prescriptions or specialist recommendations. This place is total bullshit. Even if we got the prescriptions, at this point, all trust is lost. Fake "Dr. Mae Kinaly" is a disgusting disgrace to the medical profession, an unethical crook who takes advantage of people in desperate situations.
