My appointments with her have averaged 30-45 minutes in length. She listens....really listens! I've been seeing Dr Mitchell for a few years and she is great but there practice has gone downhill since I first started with them. It seems like they have way to many patients then they can handle and it's affecting there customer service. I've had to leave several request to talk to Kelly the office manager (and still haven't received a callback), it takes days to receive a phone call for your follow up after your appointment, and now they are not giving authorizations on prescriptions they send to the pharmacy because it's an administrative burden. A burden??? No, it's part of running a business and it's called customer service. How about you stop taking new patients and focus on providing all around customer service to your existing patients? As much as I like Dr Mitchell, it might be time to find a new doctors office. read more

I started seeing Dr. Cyndee Mitchell about 5 months ago for HRT and I am SO happy that I found her. She is so easy to talk to even about the most private things that we as women experience during perimenopause. She actually listens to what you're saying and takes really thorough notes. She is open to try different approaches in order to find what will work for you. I feel like it's tough to find doctors these days who don't make you feel like just another number and who rush you through your appointment. Finding Dr. Mitchell has been a lifesaver. She has been one of the only doctors I've encountered that really truly listens to my concerns and doesn't stop until a solution is found. She is a classically trained MD, but practices more integrative/functional medicine than other doctors in my opinion. This means she is able to look at the big picture and not just rely on charts dictating "normal" vs "not normal" bloodwork. Ive been at this office for years. Initially it's been nothing but wonderful. I began seeing PA Gonzales in 2024. She had me start HRT, progesterone to be exact. I started at 100mg and then at the next appointment a month later, I told her I was waking a lot, wired. She bumped me to 200mg. I then began experiencing severe panic and anxiety, my OCD got worse which sent me seeing a therapist (didn't have one prior) to 4x a week. $25 copay. I messaged PA Gonzales asking her if this is normal, if my labs or thyroid could cause this change. I was IGNORED. Mind you, I have two young kids I homeschool. I was terrified, not sleeping (went on for 2 weeks) so I sent two more messages. Still no response. Dr Kaur then contacted me for an appointment. I began seeing her, I know her heart meant well, but she did not understand hormone withdrawal or side effects. She then had me taking 600mg progesterone (lotion and pills). I was told to take several different supplements to "calm me." At this point I was spending hundreds and $35 copay for several visits. Once up to 600mg I saw a new Dr and she couldn't believe I was that high, I'm 33 years old. Tapering off sent me to the ER, $1500 bill. I was ready to walk into a mental hospital, but I have two kids, no family, and husband working to pay for the ridiculous bills/supplements. I had an appointment that was already scheduled with PA Gonzales. So I went to discuss this all. My cortisol kept climbing, almost doubling and she stated this isn't really caused from p, also told her my kidney/adrenal area was still giving me lots of pain. That was mentioned at the appointment prior and she said it was adrenal pain. She then had me watch some therapy she recommended I try. Then I realized she just thought my OCD was at fault, I was crazy, also never been seen there that much nor anywhere else in my life. Messaging portal gave me a message saying to "stop bugging them we aren't a primary care office." Don't put people on hormones then abandon them , if u can't follow thru don't put them at 600mg because the ER didn't know what to do with me bc it's not recommended to be that high at 33 years old with a period. Back to my office visit with Gonzales, she said "what would make your brain happy, what does your brain want, a full body scan?" And I knew she was using my OCD diagnosis and anxiety against me. So I requested just my kidneys be checked. And what do ya know, I had kidney stones! Needed a CT scan. So that wasn't in my head. I bawled my eyes out in the car. Broke, husband upset at all the money we are forking over, failing my children and feeling absolutely insane. I'm 4 months off progesterone and because she also had me taking it daily for months, my body is so damaged. All my hormones are a mess. Progesterone withdrawal is very much real. Side effects are real. You CAN take too much progesterone. Mine converted straight to cortisol and then I was made to feel crazy. I suffer from PTSD now from this, and I don't say that lightly. This was truly cruel, mistakes were made. If this review helps one person, that's what it's for. Dr Kaur does not understand side effects of HRT and PA Gonzales is flat out cruel. read more

I just wanted to update that I went in to Dr. Rita to help me with fertility. I am now a month pregnant and went to see her in August 2019 (it is now December 2019). She strengthened me for fertility. She is truly a God-sent and wouldn't trade her as my primary doctor for anyone else! She is highly recommended BTW, no other traditional doctor (who doesn't take a more natural, holistic approach) was able to do something like this for me (& all the science and research is out there folks!). read more

Having read the ratings for TLC. I have been battling Diabetes since age 40. I know the health care system and know that it can be frustrating to deal with. I also am painfully aware that I and only I am ultimately responsible for my care. It is my responsibility to read and study recommendations and such. During my care with Dr Ellethorpe i have been successful in lowering my AC1 Levels I have been kindly and at tentatively cared for. I have actually become friends with those I have dealt with so often. I would be more successful if I would only choose to control my eating just like the Doctor said! I couldn't be more furious. I have visited TLC a few times, and been given the generic "eat less dairy, less wheat, less wine etc." talk and told to take various supplements. While that's all fine, they do not provide basic medical care. Do NOT call them if you are sick. I just called with severe strep throat symptoms, and I was told "we wouldn't be able to see you until late August or early September. We advise you to go to urgent care or a primary care physician." Isn't the entire point of being a more holistic or integrative practice is to care for patient's health and steer them AWAY from traditional urgent care facilities? Absolutely useless practice if you are sick, and don't just want to spend $500 on herbs and supplements. Do better TLC. read more

If you are looking for a doctor who is knowledgeable in eastern and western medicine this is the place for you!!! Dr. Faraj and his staff are so knowledgeable! I'm here for my 3rd office visit. I have Hashimoto's which is an autoimmune thyroid disease. I am here to see my 2nd set blood labs and see how my body has improved since I started this journey. Coming here has finally given me the hope I have been searching for!! They have their own vitamin shop and blood labs on site. I have never felt this comfortable going to the doctors in my life. Also they take my PPO insurance, which is huge in my book!!! Update: I just finished with Dr. Faraj. I'm happy to report that my labs show a good improvement in my health!! He is increasing my thyroid medicine and I am making some slight changes in my bulletproof coffee every morning so I am doing intermediate fasting. I also need to continue with lowering my carbs. There are many naturopathic doctors to see in OC, so I would look further. This office charged me thousands for visits, vitamins and chelation and then refused to waive a $50 missed appointment fee due to their double booking. When I requested that they waive the $50 fee due to the duplicate appointment their lab tech "Arlene" said they can't because it's lost time and they can't bill for the lost time. Arlene had no appreciation or understanding of the thousands already spent or the fact that I was there weekly for about 5 months. She had an attitude big time and was very dismissive. Further, some of the lab nurses are unprofessional. At times, I had to listen to them fight upon arriving early in am for appointments. It's several hundred dollars every time you buy their supplements. After 4K in chelation my results haven't changed which means - yep you guessed it more chelation needed and more money needed. I spent well over 5K on vitamins and chelation with big promises and few results. If you have cash to burn for the heck of it give it a try but its definitely a place focused on revenue and a cash is king mentality not the well being of the patient. My body has been through the ringer since I visited Dr. Ellithorpe. I made an appointment because of chronic fatigue and insomnia. A friend of mine believes that Dr. Ellithorpe cured her of a skin cancer under her eye. So I was ready to try anything. Here are some of my experiences. 1. It is very expensive. Even though she accepts insurance, my bills not covered by insurance in the first month were $1700. 2. She will put you on a Keto-like 50 carb max diet per day. That seems to be the predominant diet fad at this time (and seems to help many people), but my body rebelled and reacted with severe insomnia and tremors. You will not be instructed about the nuances of how to make this diet work for you. (Like adequate healthy fats, sufficient electrolytes and the difference between total carbs and net carbs.) 3. You get signed up for Juice Plus+ vitamins which are also very expensive and a multi-level marketing scheme, where the doctor gets a cut of the profit. She claims that these are the only vitamins that have been proven to help people, but according to what I have read, all of the "studies" were financed by the manufacturer, were small, not adequately controlled, not peer reviewed, and not compared with other vitamins. 4. After each visit, she summarizes your diagnosis and instructions in the hearing of all of the office staff and all of the patients in the waiting room. This is not only insensitive, but illegal. In my case, everyone was told where I was supposed to apply my estrogen cream. I'll leave that to your imagination. 5. She doubled my progesterone (400mg!) and doubled my thyroid (but I only have taken 33% more.) Most practitioners will increase these hormones a little bit at a time and see how your body reacts. 6. The progesterone pills that they sold me were not quality controlled as to the dosage that is listed. Some of them barely affect me, and some of them make me literally fall into bed and feel groggy with headache the next day. When I complained and asked for a refund and to have my prescription called into a compounding pharmacy that I trust, I was refunded less than half of what I paid. I think I should be at least refunded 100%, especially because of the chaos my body has experienced. 7. Dr. Ellithorpe can be short and rude. When I asked what benefit she was hoping for by my adhering to this diet, she said something like preventing cancer and heart disease. I don't object to what she said, but the smart-alecky way she said it. I happen to believe that that's a reasonable question for a patient to ask a doctor. 8. I question the wisdom of drastically changing so many systems in a person's body at the same time - hormones, diet, supplements. When the body reacts negatively to something, it's hard to figure out the culprit. 9. Even though I have endured a very expensive, exhausting summer, the good news is that I lost 10 pounds and my body seems to have adjusted to a lower carb (not Keto) diet. I think I'll stay at about 100 carbs per day. But I will not be going back to Tustin Longevity Center. read more

This occurred a while ago but I felt compelled to let others know what happened to me in my experience with Dr. Cyndee Mitchell. She is a very nice lady, but unfortunately her mistake in treating me has changed my life forever. I now have Graves Disease because she prescribed too much synthetic thyroid hormone for me, sending my body into a thyroid storm. It made me very sick and simulated Grave Eye Disease. When I brought my symptoms to her attention she did not know what was going on. My endocrinologist told me it was a hugh mistake and definitely caused my Graves Disease. Coming to TLC was the best medical decision I've ever made. As far as I'm concerned, no other medical practice, integrative or otherwise, comes close. As a six-month new patient of Dr. Ellithorpe, I am extremely impressed and feel blessed to be a patient. I have learned so much about restoring my health and preventing future issues. After a bad experience at Quest, I started having all of my Labs done at TLC, and it's always a great experience. They always follow full proper protocol with me, including vigorously wiping down a check-in iPad over and over before handing it to me once when I forgot to check in using the app. They go above and beyond for patient health and safety, and I've noticed that they have True Hepa Filters in every room (even the restrooms and the Supplement Suite) for pure air filtering, which I greatly appreciate. TLC's doctors and staff have earned my trust so completely that I brought in my mother who is now on the road to far better health as a patient of Dr. Kaur, who is also excellent. Now I know exactly which vitamins and supplements (and how much of each) to give my mom, and which foods she needs and which to avoid. I have health insurance through Kaiser but I more than willing to pay to see a Dr. Mitchell because she has changed my health for the better (something none of my Kaiser doctors have done). I started Seeing PA-C Priya Patel at Tustin Longevity Center (TLC) a few months back and have had great results so far. She has helped me keep my diet in check and has given me a lot of insights into my own health. I am very pleased with how she gives me different options. My visits have been very thorough. This is the first time I have had a health professional sit down with me for an extended period of time and just listen and take notes. She really took the time to get caught up on my medical history which really impressed me. Instead of throwing pills at the issues, PA-C Priya Patel took a more natural and holistic approach. I certainly appreciate doctors who take a more holistic approach, but it does me no good if they do not honor their appointments. I had a 10:30 appointment this morning, which I arrived a few minutes early for. At 10:50, while I was still in the waiting room, I informed the receptionist that I could not be gone from work this long and needed to be seen by Dr. Mitchell immediately. The receptionist reminded the doctor that I was waiting out front, but she still continued to speak with a patient in her office. At 11:00, when I had now been waiting nearly 35 minutes, I had them print off my records and walked out. They also asked me if I wanted to reschedule. Is that a joke?? It's clear that they do not respect patients' time whatsoever, and I just wasted an hour and a half of my day, when I could have stayed at work and been selling and making money instead. It further upsets me that they called me THREE times on Friday night to remind me of my appointment and then texted me today with another reminder. Maybe you should be less concerned with your patients' punctuality and more concerned with your doctors'. I will certainly not be back. **UPDATE: Dr. Mitchell called me to apologize, which was a pleasant surprise, so for that I increased rating to two stars. She really took ownership of being late and didn't make excuses, which I thought was commendable. read more

I appreciate the update to your policy. It is a turn off for customers. 2. For those of you who are unaware - this office DOES take insurance. They are out of network, but they do take it. Horray! I have not seen my EOB yet, so likely an update to come regarding that. 3. My first visit went well. As someone who is familiar with this type of medicine, it felt good to finally have a doctor listen to me and understand my dilemma. Horray! Dr. Faraj is an outstanding doctor and human being. I appreciate that he sees me as an individual and understands the importance of honoring the "Inner Physician" which resides in us all. There is room for my opinions and my intuition when it comes to developing strategies to address my healthcare issues and concerns. Many doctors I have encountered in the past have what I refer to as the "God complex"......not the case with Dr. Faraj. Although he is extremely knowledgable he is also humble and listens to new ideas and acknowledges new technology with an open mind. I went to use the LTC lab services and I had a terrible experience. I was fasting and had to provide Urine sample. I had no idea how long I would have to wait and I needed to go. They do not follow Covid procedures such as checking your temp. The waiting room was small with many people waiting. They made me fill out a bunch of Covid questions on a touch I-pad that has been touched by other patients. They did not clean it. The receptionist had no idea how much longer I would have to wait as it was past my appointment time. Stay away from this lab. read more
