I've been to this location many times. The experience is hit or miss. Most visits, I leave with soreness for days after a simple blood draw, which has been frustrating. However, there have been two ladies who stood out--both were gentle, friendly, and took the time to talk, which I appreciated. There's never anyone at the front desk, but I believe that's standard for Quest locations. Overall, it gets the job done, but the quality of care varies. read more

While I wait here in an empty lobby I am asked to step away from the area that is used to check in because I might cause people to feel uncomfortable when it comes time to check in. I ask the lady if their is any way I can be seen a little early being that obviously no one is waiting to be seen and I am a little early and all I need is to drop off a sample. She tells me I have to wait because people might walk in any minute to their appointment and it would not be fair to make them wait. Mind you I have been waiting 30 minutes. Call me old fashioned, but when did these places become so customer unfriendly? I remember when ALL medical professionals treated customers or patients with dignity. Now they act like they are doing you a favor by being open and you should be so lucky. I am guessing this lady transferred from the Mill Street location from the squawking that was yelled into the lobby. There are three people in the lobby, one with an appointment and 2 walk-ins. This employee came up to the counter and instead of calling the walk-ins over and inviting them to leave, she yells "if you are a walk-in find the phone number and make an appointment, we are not going to help you today." Not that big of a deal right? Maybe not, but 4 times in 16 minutes with the same BS? She could have easily talked to (not yelled at) the 2 walk-ins in a shorter time, or god forbid done at least one of the blood draws and try to get caught up. By the way I was one with an appointment, but her behavior did not improve. Once I was in the back, she was griping about one thing after another and then standing around because there was "10 minutes until the next scheduled appointment." It is sad that, like me, people get stuck with little to no choice of where they have to put up with lab "services" because of insurance but I am done with this location for good. read more

I was 16 minutes late for my scheduled appointment @ 1:40 pm, I signed in for a walk in after I realized I was late. The technician refused to fit me in as a walk in. Just complained she was by herself when there was one other person back there and she had nobody currently waiting...... what a joke! I drove one hour to be here, and I hit some traffic which made me late. I'm 40 years old I've been late to numerous doctors appointments and I've never been turned away or refused service. Says a lot about Quest, and their obtuse staff. I will never recommend them nor will I ever go to one again. read more

It's never fun going to have someone stick needles in you to get blood, however over the years there are a few places that I preferred to go to. Over the last few years, this is the Lab I've chosen as it usually has a low line if you're a walk-in. You can however go online and make appointments and they usually get you in pretty quick. The ladies are always friendly. Though today the girl with me Judy was very professional and nice, however one of the other technicians are nurses or whatever they are was just gabbing and gossiping about her daughter the whole time. I mean I understand it's a workplace, however there are clients that are paying to be here, and may not want to hear about Teenage girls choice of music changing and birthday parties and whatever social issues her daughter is having. It's not horrible, however maybe don't force that information on clients? Other than that, very nice very clean very professional. I find myself having to visit Quest locations quite often, and this is the only location that never seems to want to help. Sadly, it's the closest to me so I find myself having to use this location from time to time. Today, I was a walk-in at approximately 3:25 (check the cameras, Quest). As is common with this location, the lights and TV are off. No one is up front and no one ever greets you or even acknowledges you're there. It always feels like they want to give the impression that they're closed. Anyway, I signed in at the kiosk and the touch-screen gave a notice that my wait time was approximately 6 minutes. Easy peasy. Now it's 3:39 and Judi comes up front and asks me for my appointment confirmation. No greeting, just obvious irritation that I was there. I replied that I was a walk-in. Judi then tells me that their policy is to not allow walk-ins after 3:30 and I'll need to come back next week. I was very confused because not only is this "policy" not visible on their website, front door, or their touch-screen kiosk, I was also signed in before 3:30. (Again, check the cameras, Quest). When I mentioned this policy not being listed anywhere, Judi replied "I hear that a lot". When I then told Judi that I was signed in and waiting prior to 3:30, she shook her head and said she came up front at 3:37 and no one was there. I was right there, in front of the check in desk in PLENTY of time. Judi's not-so-subtle accusation that I was lying about my arrival time was outrageous. I encouraged her to check the time on the kiosk to see when I signed in, but she refused and told me "We're closed". The time at this point was about 3:40. My lab work could have been easily done by now. This is not okay, Quest. I understand how busy your staff is (how busy we ALL are) but this exceptionally poor treatment and refusal to help by Judi is unacceptable. I will abide by policies, but this seems arbitrary. Clearly Judi was ready to start her weekend early and nothing was going to stop that. read more

If I could give a 0 star, I would. The ladies there are so rude. Especially 1 of them. I forgot my mask at home because I had just washed them. I asked if they had mask available she said no. So I called my bf down the street to bring me one. I checked in and within 5 mins they called me in. I went in to tell them I was waiting outside for my mask. The nicer employee said that's o.k. as long as you are here within 15 mins of your appt. I went in and sat down. They never called my name so I asked them . Lady that worked there was rude and was no help at all to me. Denied another customer of services because of insurance before me. Would not take insurance out of state, or any secondary insurances. Waited 2 hours here. They said they could not access any labs that was ordered to this location. She spoke to me very rudely and impatient, gave me such attitude for no reason and wanted me gone. I was the only person there, they get no customers cuz of their bad service. Was definitely a waste of time going here. All the doctors there have their name badges turned over so u can't get their names. Since they rejected me the first time, I had to come back the following Monday because I desperately needed my labs done in order to have access to important medications prescribed to me. This was the closest location I could access, I wasn't pleased with idea but desperately needed the labs done. The same lady worked there and would not make eye contact with me. After I checked in, said if I was 1 min late from checking in. My appointment would be cancelled and I'd have to wait to do walk in schedule. Keep in mind I was fasting, my appointment was at 10:44 I was a couple mins late for check in cuz of traffic. So after I was denied service, they said I'd have to wait till after twelve, I finally got service at 1:25, went all morning without food, shaking and almost ready to pass out. I need food regularly in my system in order to function cuz of low blood sugar. This other guy there also was a minute late and had to wait till 1:45. I felt bad for him and was also very mad at the whole situation. They said they couldn't take me cuz they were understaffed and busy, there was barely any people in the waiting room. This is the worst customer service you can get. I finally got called back and the rude lady said she couldn't find my doctors office location and threw her hands and gave me the worst attitude. I calmly gave her the address to my doctor and fax number. And she told me rudely to take a seet. Cuz I had low blood sugar from fasting, I needed the bed in order to not pass out, she was rude and questioned me and gave me smart ass comments. I never said a word and kept my cool and finally got it over with, I had to sit on the table for a few min so I could function enough to walk out to my car, she kept coming back and checking on me to make me leave. She wanted me gone and out of there. It's been a week and they have not faxed my lab results to my doctor, I have been without my medication for 5 days now. I can't even call them directly to correct them and push them to fax the results over. The automated system is the worst on the phone. I am frustrated of this whole thing. read more

Quest Diagnostics is a very unprofessional business. We live in a day and age where technology and daily life should be seamless and on point to guarantee customer satisfaction. Today, I had an appointment scheduled at 8:30 on Saturday February 20. Unfortunately my girlfriend was taking me to the appointment when we got sideswiped as well as a hit and run so we were tied up with highway patrol for the morning. I checked the website to see if walk-ins were available and it stated that "DRUG SCREEN WALK-INS" were available on Saturday from 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM. To double-check, I called the number to Quest Diagnostics. The calling system is as dated as it gets. I called and it starts with a two minute intro that is extremely repetitive then continues to ask you a series of questions to schedule an appointment. If you choose a specific location and the times are not right for you, you must start completely over from the very beginning and choose a new location to see the times of others. This was an extreme inconvenience. But finally, after 20 minutes of navigating my way through this nightmare it informs me that all locations take walk-ins as stated above. So, I drive all the way over to the location off Vista in Sparks and the place was completely closed and had a sign on the door stating completely different information. As someone who is a temp through Tesla, my job is on the line, and these events were out of my control and the last thing that any employee wants to go through on their day off is this. So do yourself a favor if at all possible and avoid doing any service through Quest Diagnostics. Pictures attached below of website hours, and the actual front door. First day they system is down and couldn't accept any patients at all , second day , system is up but walk in patients was pushed out because 20min between appointments wasn't enough to take care at least one walk in , I was told in very rudely and unprofessional way . If you can't accept walk ins and can't even treat your walk in in respectful way , just change it to appointment only !!!! I have been using Quest for almost a decade. Tried to make an appointment online, and that failed. Tried to call for an appointment and was on hold for ninety minutes before being cut off. Went to the Quest Lab on Vista and was told it would be a two hour wait. The website showed a 15 minute wait. I have no blood test, and will have to go to Emergency at Saint Mary's for blood work. Does not accept digital lab orders. Must fax or have paper copy. Waited over 30 minutes for e-fax to be acknowledged and to get service. Staff did not check in, had to wait where I could be seen from behind the counter in the back of the building and ask for assistance. I would not recommend here for quick easy service. read more

Felt like I was at the DMV shuffling through cattle lines and getting scolded for every single thing I did or did not do. So if you're feeling a little too good about yourself today, stop by Quest! I know these places get a bad rap, but i had a great experience so i thought I'd share. A woman and i assume her husband showed up right before me. While she talked with the woman at the front desk, it got pretty heated. She was upset because quest wasn't in her coverage, so she would need to pay out of pocket, or go to a lab that was in network. She was very frustrated and caused a scene before leaving. When it was my turn, the woman at the front desk was so god damn sweet and helpful, and i could never imagine being mad at her. We had a nice little conversation, before letting the lab techs know i was ready. The girl who took my blood was also very friendly and nice to talk to. I got there at a good time during the day, so it was just me, and the Karen who showed up right before me, so i was in and out really fast. It was a really pleasant experience and i feel so bad for the employees who I'm sure constantly have to deal with frustrated and negative people. Obviously anytime you have to be dealing with health related places, and insurance and all that nonsense youre going to be frustrated, and maybe on edge. But these peeps are just doing their jobs. Why would they purposely do things to upset you? That just creates an awful situation and makes their day so much worse. Anyways. My experience was great. The only times i yelp are when businesses really surprise me with how great they are. Maybe some of the employees here suck, idk, but the employees i met were fabulous read more

Usually theres a slight prick of discomfort when they begin, but she somehow was so experienced I didnt even feel it ! No joke. I was in and out of there in 10 min. I was in this morning around 8am without an appointment. I expected it to be a zoo and to have to wait a while. To my surprise, I was the only one there with another person coming in shortly after me with an appointment. I was seen within 15 minutes of getting there. A few others arrived while I was there, but the waiting room was never full. The technician, Judy, was extremely polite! So friendly and made me feel at ease and didn't hurt me one bit! I mentioned that I was surprised by their 2.5 star review on Yelp and she said it's normally very busy at that location and that I caught them at the right time. But nothing beats the customer service I received. Both ladies working at that time were incredibly friendly and I left there with a smile. Not something you can usually say about a lab. read more

Also, they have appointment times listed, and they are always full, no matter how far out you go. I was very leery about going to Quest Labs. My Dr. had handed me a lab slip and pointed in their direction, stating "Just drop in after 10days. Don't need an appointment. I waited my 10 days and went to look up their address and Holy Cow, all the negative responses and why, scared me. I called their on line phone number and the tree service Sucks, but I was determined to speak to a live person and sat listening to the cheesy music for 15 minutes. Emity did tell me it was better to go in with an appointment and what she could see on line was for the Sparks facility there was only a 5 minute wait. (I wasn't taking any chances with a show up and wait game) so she politely gave me a 3:30 appointment. When I arrived there was only 1 person in waiting room. I was called in by 3:25 and informed my testing was to include a 20 minute wait after drinking some liquid...and they close at 4pm. My tech was very polite and giggled when I told her what I read on Yelp, and MY FEAR. While I was waiting in waiting room for the 20 minutes to pass another tech was on the phone describing a challenging patient to someone and how she could no longer see his information to add remarks...she actually said the person's name and described his reason for testing. This is most definitely a HIPPAA violation. Not only did I hear his name, I knew he was not going to get a job or worse (UA drug screen problem). I'm sure there are offices in the back where this conversation could have been done without the other folks in the waiting room listening. My tech did reassure me that walk ins are welcome, but expect to wait especially in the mornings, because folks take up appointment times in a.m. and those do take priority. The waiting room appeared tidy, nothing fancy. I wonder how many times the chairs and handles, and door knobs are wiped down with bleach wipes? After all, most people going to get labs drawn are there because they "might be sick?" It was 3:50 and I saw no idle techs wiping down waiting room areas or front door handles. Maybe they have a daily cleaning service, but coming from the Medical Field, it is everyone's job to start a decontamination schedule. One can never rely solely on a Cleaning Company to do more than empty garbage cans, swab toilets and wipe the glass front door. I'm sure somewhere is a procedure book that every employee must initial and abide by. Its up to Office Manager to do spot checks to make sure that all employees are complying to procedures. Quest in Sparks was okay, but there is room for improvement. read more

The waiting room is dirty, old carpet and uncomfortable chair. There is nothing to block the sun coming from the windows so if you come in the afternoon, the sun will be shining directly in your eyeballs. There is one person working when I arrived so despite having an appointment, the wait was longer than I anticipated. The tech was very nice though. She explained the procedures properly and gave very clear instructions. However, the lab failed to process all of my MD's request -- they have to do two sets of test but only did one. Now I have to come back and redo the test -- I have to collect specimen again and then come back to the lab to drop off the specimen. I made it very clear how uncomfortable (and gross) that is for me (I dropped out of Nursing for a reason) and yet they still managed to screw it up. For some reason they didn't get the order. Stepped out and called the doctor and had them resend it. Came back in and they ignored me. Even signed back in again to get someone's attention. Then the new fax the lady says was for someone else. Not sure if she was having reading issues or what. Finally talked them through it and got the draw but while sitting in the chair to do the insurance stuff someone knocked on the door and the lady sighs heavily that she had to go see who was at the front desk. At 9:45am I was able to make an 11:45 same day appointment. I scheduled it online and was also able to check online if Quest accepted my insurance. I arrived about 20 minutes early, got checked in through the code I was emailed. I had just sat down when my name was called and I went directly back to have my blood drawn by Judy, who was friendly and efficient. In and out of there took less than 30 minutes. This is the second time I have used Quest for lab work and both times I have had very little to no wait, definitely a change from other labs I have used, where waiting an hour is not uncommon. read more

Please keep in mind this is not a review of the person that actually took my blood. This office, like other Quest offices I have been to, is extremely slow. My appt. was for 8:45, due to traffic I arrived 5 minutes late. There was another person in the room and because I was late they took him first. No issues as it wasn't crowded. It actually took a full 30 minutes before that patient left and another was called in. By this time, the waiting area had filled up with about 7 new patients. When the employee came out to call someone, she called one of the new people that had come in, not me. I was a little frustrated at this point and had to wait another 10 minutes for another employee to come get me. She took me back to draw my blood, and had to stop to input the information from my lab orders into her system. I now realized what took so long for the other patient. Would it make more sense to have someone in the front putting the information in the system, and allow the lab tech to draw blood from patients coming in? Making patients wait so long is ridiculous and happens all the time it seems. I realize I was late, and understand the consequences of that action on my part. However, your system seems a little outdated. I realize you are probably saving money by not having someone up front but come on, your wait time is crazy. read more

This place is absolutely great. The other reviews are foul because I my personal experience was 10/10. The people working there were very tentative and I was greeted upon coming in. They answered all my questions and made the urine test go comfortably well. If you make an appointment online you should be in/out in no time! Fast and efficient. read more

The payment guidelines changed without notice until appointment. With that said trying to collect payment card to bill whatever charges after insurance. Therefore, use your card to bill whatever charges insurance doesn't cover. Terrible business practices. I will never use their lab again and will advise everyone I know of their business billing practices. read more
