Wait time was minimal before being called in to pre-op on my surgery day. They have a big screen in the waiting room to keep track of patients which was pretty nice. Restrooms close by and clean. Sarah was my nurse and she helped me feel at ease during my procedure prep. We chatted and compared our Italy trips while she got me dressed and took vitals. My Dr came shortly before my surgery and went over a few things and left me in good hands. Everyone there was friendly and thorough in explaining what would be happening. Before I knew it I was wheeling into the operating room and given my anesthesia and lights out! I awoke in the recovery room and was asked by Joe if I was in pain. I was barely awake but said yes so he gave me some pain meds in my IV which helped quickly. I was able to wake up more and helped to get dressed to leave. I was wheeled out to my ride and felt ready to go. My only other hospital experience was with Renown but now I feel confident in going to NNMC in the future if necessary!

The bill read: "Need to set up a payment plan? Call customer service at..." Hoping to do just that, I called the 800 number shown on the bill. I was on hold for 35 frustrating minutes until I got connected with a representative who's command of English is "not exemplary", requiring me to ask her several times to repeat things she said so I could understand her. Despite the bill stating that payment in full was due "yesterday" (Sunday 2/22/26), I was told my bill was not "finalized" yet and that she could not set up a payment plan until it was. I asked when that would happen and she suggested I "call back in a week or two" (meaning: she didn't know). Extremely frustrating!!

I have a broken toe, which is why I initially made an appointment at the St.Mary's urgent care for tonight. They referred me to roc because I KNEW my toe was broken, so they felt like it was better for them to see me. Once I got back, the xray tech was amazing. He made me very comfortable, since my toe is purple and very sensitive, that mattered to me and I really appreciated it. Once I got back to the room, the dr (white lady, hair pulled back, no mask, quite an off-putting attitude immediately) was ready and confirmed that my toe was, indeed broken. Then she proceeded to give me ZERO options. Mind you, I worked 8 hours today, and have to work the next 2 days, on soft mats, required to wear closed toe shoes. She didn't seem to care at all. She said "oh man, yeah, money...amiright?" As if that was funny. Then she offered me a sandal type boot, that I cannot wear at work, after I already told her that I couldn't wear those. Then she said I should be wearing a "hiking boot" on my foot, with a broken toe. I don't have hiking boots, but even if I did, wearing my Air Max's today hurt because of the pressure on my broken Toe, I couldn't even imagine having a hiking boot on. THEN she told me to order a carbon fiber hard plate for my foot on AMAZON, and it'll "only take a couple days to get to you"....even though I told her I have to work on my feet for the next 2 days straight, at 4am. At this point, I'm very frustrated (but didn't show it). After nothing proactive was offered by this "dr", I was told that she would only write me a script for "some stronger anti-inflammatories". Kind if refusing to give me any pain medication, even though my toe is 100% broken and causing me 8/10 pain. Oh, and on top of that, she was the ONLY one in the office who wasn't wearing a mask, even though their own door stated that they're required. What a great leader. I'm so sick of this shit. So now I'm still in pain. I called cvs for whatever medication she sent in, and guess what....there's nothing for me. And now the roc clinic is closed and I work at 4am. What a really bad experience, with no results at all. I do not recommend this doctor at all.

Rarely has there ever been a good reason to the emergency room, unless someone is having a baby or…read moresomething but I have been very fortunate the few occasions I've had to go to Renown's Emergency, the medical staff took very good care of me. It's takes a certain kind of person to be a nurse, doctor or EMT and Renown's medical staff earnestly seem to be very dedicated to providing excellent quality of care; they're so friendly, professional and wonderful bedside manner, I feel very at ease whenever I interact with them. As negative as the reason I had for going to the emergency, I had a pleasant and positive experience with Renown's staff. My mother only critique is when I had to go to the emergency, the emergency parking lot was full, so I had drive away and park to the nearest Renown parking structure, to the right of the emergency entrance and unfortunately there was construction at the main road too. Fortunately, I found a parking spot at the ground level but I had to walk all the way back to the emergency room entrance and according to the receptionist I asked the fastest way from the parking lot to the emergency room was just following the sidewalk path outside; had my condition been a really dire one, all that walking would've been really inconvenient. Maybe Renown would consider adding additional parking spaces by the emergency room entrance? That's my only suggestion/critique.

After triage we waited over 2 hours and still had not been taken to a room to be seen by a doctor. I asked the desk and explained his breathing is getting worse, especially with visitors coming in with over powering perfume and cologne. The person at the desk said they would update the charge nurse. Almost 45 minutes later still nothing so we left. In that time I saw people brought in by ambulance and were pushed into the waiting room to wait to be seen. Like really, isn't that the put of being brought in by an ambulance??? Absolutely horrific experience in the er and clearly there is no rush on getting anyone care. With all the money they spend on new facilities you would think they would have updated this er, it is lost in time and looks like it did 30 years ago. I hope Kaiser buys Renown out, then maybe we actually get doctors and better care. Also, my husband is still having issues and was never seen last night, and of course with your very apparent doctor shortage I can't even find a new doctor for him since his last one left.

What followed was not the provision of medical care consistent with Nevada law or accepted standards of practice, but a sequence of dismissals, misrepresentations, and dangerous prescribing decisions (AGAIN) that placed me, the patient, at risk and violated my rights. 1. Clinical Analysis of the Discharge Record Even though the staff verbally "scoffed" and suggested it was just a 'kidney stone', the After Visit Summary tells a different story: Official Diagnosis: They have officially documented Ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction as a primary diagnosis. This is not a "simple kidney stone"; it is the exact pathology identified at the first ER. Abnormal Lab Results: My urinalysis showed Trace Protein and 1+ Ketones, which indicates my kidneys are under stress. Medication: They administered Ketorolac (Toradol) at 6:32 PM. Toradol is an NSAID that can be hard on the kidneys; given my history of kidney failure, this needs to be monitored closely. Breach of the Standard of Care: This occurs when a provider fails to provide the level of care a competent professional would. (e.g., dismissing an acute UPJ obstruction as "chronic pain" without new imaging). Failure to Diagnose / Delay in Diagnosis: The refusal by SMRMC to perform a new CT or MRI despite worsening lab markers (Protein/Ketones) and a 1.9 cm lesion. Patient Abandonment/Violation of Rights: Repeated requests for a Patient Advocate were denied, and call buttons were ignored. I WILL ADD THIS TO MY ON-GOING CASE, PICTURED BELOW AND THE COMPARISONS OF BOTH EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT FALIURES.

Having lived in Orange County, California for a time (where medical jobs are extremely competitive-- especially at hospitals like Kaiser where my mom and sisters-in-law have worked) I can say I have a high bar for medical care. My husband and I have had nothing but good experiences in Renown; we have always felt that our children have been well cared for within the Renown healthcare system (and no, that's not because the staff knows I have family in the medical field, I always keep that piece of information to myself-- though I will say having family in the field is extremely helpful for confirming if the interventions being taken are good ones!). Our most recent trip was for my 22 month old who was having trouble breathing (oxygen was immediately provided at the first ER off South Meadows followed by a treatment of DuoNeb). Our daughter still labored to breathe after interventions so they ended up transporting us to this location's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Overall, I highly recommend Renown.

What could have been a terrifying and traumatic night was made so much less scary thanks to the incredible team at Renown's Children's ER. From the moment we arrived, every staff member was gentle, compassionate, and reassuring--not just with our daughter, but with us as parents, too. They explained everything calmly and thoroughly, and treated her with such care and kindness. When they found out it was her birthday, they surprised her with gifts after her X-rays, which completely lifted her spirits and brought a smile to her face. Thanks to their warmth and encouragement, she stayed so brave through it all. The next morning, she woke up and said, "I can't believe I did that. I was so brave!" That moment alone told us how much their approach helped her process everything. We're so grateful for the way they handled everything. They turned what should've been a traumatic memory into something our little girl could feel proud of. Thank you to the entire team for making a scary situation so much easier--for all of us.

As we walk in first point of contact was front desk girl who looked so upset that we were walking in. I get it, sucks to work on a Saturday but if you are the first thing a patient sees as they are hurting maybe you should be a little more welcoming or compassionate. We got help by person sitting next to her who right away greeted us with a smile. My sister felt worst in Monday 5/12 so I took her back as she had said she felt like something had snapped in her knee and this time she was not able to put any weight on it. As soon as Sierra saw us she said and I quote" You were here Saturday, we aren't going to be able to do anything for your today" I work in healthcare and I would never just off the bat refuse service to anyone. Front desk staff should not be giving out medical advice! This girl didn't even let us get a word in before she even shut us down. And once again she had that annoyed/ mad expression. My sister asked for a doctor's note and she said " I can't provide that for you, the Dr. Has to do it" Sierra if you would of let us just speak you would understand we were not asking YOU for the note as you are not the provider that saw her or treated her! But since she obviously looks like she hates her job she ushered us out fast. We were able to get seen in the ER as my sister did dislocate her knee and from Saturday to Monday the situation changed! Thankfully SWIFT got us in right away as well! Please ROC do better with your front desk staff. We are coming to you scared, hurt and just needing help or resources as to what to do next. But instead we got treated poorly by front desk staff. Horrible experience!
