I came here 5 minutes before my appointment. They told me to come back at my appointment time. If they don't want you to come early they should probably notify people in advance. Most other offices would like their customers to be early or on time. Not here. I saw other customers go through the same issue here. Also, the lady at the front desk gives vague instructions and gets upset when people don't understand her instructions. I noticed her get upset with an elderly man who didn't understand what, "go to room 1" meant. Maybe it would be nice to say "come through the closed door and proceed to room 1". Overall, very unprofessional experience. I will be looking for somewhere else to go in the future. read more

This is a terrible place to get lab work done. 1. I couldn't get a hold of one person via phone and was in their rabbit hole phone system for a long time 2. Since I couldn't get a hold of anyone, asking a question was impossible 3. The phlebotomists was sweet but not very good. She pulled the needle back and forth at least 8Xs and still missed getting into my vein. She then said that I want to bruise. No, you kept poking through my vein and therefore, I will be bruising. 4. They wouldn't give me a copy of my results and said they can only send it to my MD which they didn't do and my MD had to track down my results. Nothing but a headache. I prefer to use LabCorp. read more

Usually, I have a great experience here. Today was a terrible one. I checked in at 11:00am and my appointment was at 11:30am. They have a waiting list on a tv screen in the waiting room. I saw people having 11:40am appointments get taken in at 11:05am. One by one people got taken in. Around 11:18am My name was taken off of the waiting list as if I would be called in very soon. The lady in room 1 today was super rude! She came out as I was standing at the counter waiting and said may I help you in a very sarcastic manner. I said I checked in a long time ago and I still haven't been called in. She said the computer wont let us call people in until 5-10 minutes before their actual appointment. She told me to go wait into room 1. I went in an my ID card was on the screen. When you check in here you are supposed to scan your ID. The fact that my ID was on the screen had to have meant that she was able to see my check in at the very least 5 minutes before she came out if not more. Also, the fact that she had my ID on the computer screen had to have meant that she already knew who I was before coming to the front desk and saying may I help you sarcastically. When the lady administered the blood work needle, I've never had in my life where there as pain going in, more pain while in and pain everlasting for 5 minutes after the needle was taken out. From 4 hrs later my arm is all black and blue. Shows just how bad she was. The same lady said that the dr will get my results in 4 days. Every other time I've gone the dr has received my blood work the same day. I like the place here, but I give the person who helped me in room 1 today an F for my experience with her. read more

Referred there by my physical. First impressions count and receptionist treated me in highly unprofessional manner. I walked in at 3:45 pm just to get information on making a lab appointment. Stood at reception desk and representative would not look up at me. I finally said hello and and with a disgusted look on her face asked me what I wanted. She finally handed me a business card and said to make an appointment online. Took my wife there for a routine blood draw. They took her medical insurance cards and her drivers license and Dr.'s orders. They were only running 15 minutes late which was not a problem. However upon leaving I checked with my wife to see if they gave her back all of her cards and we found out that they had LOST her drivers license. We did not even leave the office so when we asked Leticia at the front desk she just said that she doesn't see it anywhere and just leave our contact info in case they find it. To me it seems that the license was given to another patient or who knows what? We were very disappointed as now we need to go to the DMV and get another one. When we left there was a lady leaving at the same time and she said that it happened to her there last month but it was her insurance cards that were lost. I went again early on a Friday morning, not a soul in sight, and these Fuckers wouldn't take me for a 5 minute blood draw which would have been my second visit in a month. I was conflicted on how many stars to give this location. On one hand, I was frustrated that I couldn't be seen and that they don't truly take walk ins, but on the other hand, the lady at the front desk at least tried to help me. She gave me information on the website to make an appointment and even a QR code. She looked up clinics in the area that may have an opening. This place is absolute bullshit. I had an 8:10 appointment and was there at 8:15. There is no person at the counter to check you in, only a computer you use. I had to wait 5 minutes to check in because someone was using it. And then waited for 30 minutes for my appointment until a lady came out and told me since I was over 10 minutes late, they couldn't take me. Everyone there was extremely unhelpful and rude. I understand not taking people who are late to appointments. But literally 10 minutes late and then it cancels your appointment? And the computer doesn't tell you that. It just tells you to wait. I went to this location today. I had an appointment, but was told they didn't have the orders. No one was in the waiting room so I tried to call the doctor's office. The receptionist who looked like she could barely keep her eyes open, informed me I couldn't use my phone. I just had knee replacement surgery so I was just trying to assist her in getting the orders. After 45 minutes I got it straightened out. After she drew my blood, she put gauze on to stop the bleeding. She was going to put tape on and I had to tell her I was allergic to the tape. Most of the time they have that stretchy material. She said this is all we've got and walked out of the room. The worst attitude ever. When I had told my friend I was going to this location, she said she would never go back here because they were so rude to her. I concur. read more

The wait was a little bit long to get my labs drawn, but the phlebotomists are quite good at what they do and are really quick to draw your labs when they when take you back. The receptionist and the woman who drew my blood were so incredibly rude. They had no empathy whatsoever. As I sat in the waiting room, I overheard the receptionist be rude to each and every person who was checking in. I was saddened to overhear her be rude to an elderly woman who did not know how to check in electronically. She made her take a seat for about 10 minutes until she called her back up, to help her. There was no reason for that. I was annoyed and angered to overhear her tell a gentleman that he had to reschedule his appointment because he checked in 10 minutes past his time. He was physically there in the office on time, but he had to wait in the long line until he was able to check in. I do not know how that was resolved. The waiting room started filling up, so the receptionist said, "It's too crowded in here people. Some of you need to go wait in the hall." If we chose to move into the hall, there was no way of notifying us that it was our turn. Once I was in the room to have my blood drawn, the vibe of the technician was "mean." She was clearly annoyed with my presence, and didn't take the time to ask my name. All she said was, "birthdate," with no eye contact. When she saw that had I two different orders, she looked at me with an unfriendly face and said, "Next time, you need to book two different appointments for this." (No one had provided me with that information, so how was I to know). As she took 10 vials of blood from me, in an annoyed manner, another technician walked in and asked her for some blue lidded vials. She said, "There's no blue ones left so just use yellow." The other technician said, "That's not the type of test that I am running." In her annoyed voice she said, "Just use the yellow and write on it." That was a very unsafe suggestion! When I was finished, she just wrapped my arm, and walked away with no goodbye. I had to ask whether or not my appointment was complete, and she said, "yeah," without turning around to me. I didn't dare ask when my results would be ready. As I walked out of the office, the people who were still waiting, did not look happy, as well as the people standing in the hall. Two stars for my lab tech being friendly and for a clean facility. Everything else was a zero. As I was waiting to be called, two of the employees got into an argument and one stormed out. The other employee came and sat in the waiting room, loudly saying that she "wishes she would," and generally talking smack. The third employee tried to stay out of it. The third employee drew my blood and was very polite and friendly. My veins roll and are usually a problem, but she got my vein in one shot. I thought all was well. Cut to a few hours later. I can't move or use my arm, and I have a knot the size and shape of my thumb where she drew the blood. This was a week ago and I still have a huge purple bruise and knot. Apparently, the needle went all the way through my vein and caused blood to pool under the skin. It still feels sore and I have weekness in my arm. Awesome. Please, go elsewhere. I came here as a walk in and arrived 30 mins before 8a. There was already 3 other folks in line. By the time it was 8a, the line was probably 10-15 people deep. Once it opened, they efficiently move people through by grabbing their lab order and insurance card. The biggest downside to this place is because they rush you, the phlebotomist drawing blood was nervous and frantic. As a result, she did a terrible job and likely punctured my vein. Quest Diagnostics on Prospect Blvd. is the absolute worst lab I've ever been to. I've been going to labs every 3 - 6 months for over 38 years due to several auto immune system disorders. When I walked in the receptionist was very ill ( coughing, sneezing and the doctor said she kept going to the bathroom and would be leaving soon). She was using the same bathroom we use for our "specimens". Great! She never left. Plus when I went in the restroom - let's just say there is NO way it was sanitary , especially for lab work. read more

Yep this is my 5 star review during a pandemic. I was able to schedule an appt next day (day after getting labs from doc). They are in the same building as my doc just two floors up- they take your temp outside office, I literally walked right in, peed in a cup gave 5 vials of blood, the girl who helped me was super friendly and talked to me as if we had known each other for years, the gals up front were also same type of friendly and I was out the entire thing maybe took 10 min. Not sure why all the bad reviews. The staff here is efficient, friendly, and professional. To avoid a wait, I got there at 7:40am and waited outside with a few other people. I was second in line. They opened promptly at 8 o'clock on the dot. Right after I signed in, I was immediately taken into a room and got my blood drawn. The phlebotomist was super nice! I hate getting my blood drawn, almost fainted but she talked me through a breathing exercise and all was well! I was in and out in 15 minutes and on my way to work! The thing that front desk woman Cynthia is extremely rude and unprofessional isn't even the reason I am leaving this review. For the third time during my visit, they are being lazy not even accepting many patients at all, the system did not work so I could not schedule appointmen over the phone , nor online nor via quest portal and not only that they were not willing to help, they were not even accepting patients who had an appointment! Cynthia was talking to me for over 10 min, not trusting me that phone system did not work, tried calling herself to find out appointment was not possible to schedule, instead of simply taking my blood ... She lied they accept 3 patients every 15 min because as I was there for that period of time nobody was giving blood. Overall - horrible human beings working there ! When I was about to leave, older lady came in saying how she had an appointment in early morning but could not reschedule due to the system issues and she didn't really feel well to arrive in early am at the scheduled time being in a very poor condition with scheduled surgery and neither Cynthia nor Dannte ( who was taking blood) wanted to accept her! Witnessing that was very disturbing and that's what initially made me write this review because If I didn't complain and yell at those two, they would let the lady leave ! Absolutely insane and unacceptable from quest diagnostics keeping these two! I asked a contact of supervisor from them to give me which they refused to do telling me to leave. I was persistent in not leaving until I get the number of their supervisor... They gave me the number of supervisor who's name is Al... we will see if he reaches out and what will happen. I also noticed here in reviews that there are multiple 5 stars reviews from the SAME PERSON so let's please also erase that who ever is checking these reviews here. I have been coming here for a long time but recently the technicians have been quite rude and would not take two orders at once even though they have done it before. They also didn't give me the copy of my insurance card and when I asked for it they said next time bring one that they can have.Mind you they have always made a copy and gave me the original back. I had to make an appt at San Pedro and the technician was lovely and helpful, I asked if two doctors orders could be processed on one visit and she said yes, the only Time it might be difficult would be if I had a fasting and a non-fasting lab order. I went today to get bloodwork done for a usual check up. I had to have 8 vials taken (cholestorol, thyroid). Peter V was amazing. He was very professional. It didn't hurt at all. The process was smooth. The staff was friendly. The office was clean. I appreciate our front line employees who are helping all of us in this tough time. I would recommend coming here. Wow. Did we visit a different lab? What a lot of negative reviews. Today was my third visit to this lab. There are a number of other labs not far from my home which I could've visited, but my last two experiences at this Quest really were just fine. There was no reason to go elsewhere. On all three visits I went without an appointment. My first visit was probably nine am-ish, the last two shortly before lunchtime. Other than today's visit (which I'll explain below) waiting time has been so minimal, I saw no advantage to scheduling an appointment. The first time I was there, the female phlebotomist was quick and efficient, didn't probe the vein, nor did she hurt me in the least. Given that she'd done nothing technically wrong, (I used to draw blood as part of a long-ago job) I've no clue why I ended up with a bruised, purple-spotted arm two days later. Maybe she went in at too steep an angle... The next time I went in, the check-in system was down, so we signed in the old-fashioned way. There were a few people waiting, but again the visit was amazingly brief, completely uneventful, and I was back home in no time. This morning at 11:30 I arrived to a more or less full waiting room. For the first ten minutes of my wait, no one seemed to go in or out. Then, things started moving very quickly. The same phlebotomist worked on me as the last time-- a young Hispanic male who has my permission to draw my blood any time I need it done. Unfortunately, the usually reliable vein in my right arm decided not to yield, so he went to the other arm which cooperated quite nicely. No pain in either stick. It was still was short of noon by the time I left-- certainly not the quick stops my last two visits had been, but a completely reasonable amount of time considering the crowd in the waiting room and the fact that I hadn't made an appointment. If I have any complaint about this place at all, it's perhaps that the person at the front desk might want to look a little more welcoming. An acknowledgment and a greeting (ie "Good morning. Please sign in.") would be nice. Just a thought. read more

This place is a joke! I had an appointment at 11:00 that I had to fast for and I didn't get to get my blood drawn till 11:30! The front desk lady looked and spoke to me as she just woke up. I had my blood drawn by LaTanya and she was horrible. Both my arms's veins are VISIBLE and I never had anyone not being able to get blood out of me with any issues except for her. UPDATE: My sole complaint would be with the fact that Quest doesn't have a telephone number where one can actually speak with someone. Or, at the very least for their individual locations, provide a current recording which furnishes not merely their location, but whether, or not they're open on certain holidays that aren't universally honored by all businesses, e.g. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; thereby minimizing the chances of a Patient making an unnecessary trip ~The Online search only indicates that hours may he affected by the holiday~ In my case, Monday is my sole day off the entire week, so I try and fit as much in as possible, especially wellness appointments & lab work. I don't have the luxury of wasting time to make the trip only to discover that they're closed. Hence, I'll have to defer for an entire week. Thus, I have deducted 1 star. read more

UPDATE - I just received a follow-up call from the Physician and they are stunned that Quest pulled 8 vials of blood and screwed up the processing of the order. They are going to reorder the missing test at Labcorp so that we never have to deal with Quest again. UPDATE - Physician's office rewrote order to Labcorp to avoid the Quest facility at BCHD. Formal complaint has been made by them to Quest corporate. ORIGINAL COMMENT - Total screw ups. Drew blood, Didn't mark the fasting status correctly. Failed to draw necessary blood correctly resulting in tests not being able to be completed. Pick a different Quest facility until this one is restaffed. read more

Cynthia the front desk woman had a very negative demeanor the moment I arrived. She was cutting me off while speaking and had a very standoffish attitude. I was bringing my little one to have blood drawn with my husband. The last time I was there Quest didn't have the proper tools to withdraw blood from my child due to inventory. I had to waste my time coming back, but at least the woman who took us in to the room allowed my husband and I together with out 1 year old son. Cynthia refused and told us only one parent allowed even though previous staff never enforced that at multiple quest locations. She was standoffish and cold with her response and wouldn't accept what was more comfortable for my baby. She literallly looked liked she hates her job and is a bad representative of this company. Sadly I feel as if I will seek other labs and suggest to others that Quest simply doesn't have standards of conduct. Maybe one day they would hire competent and caring individuals. I accidently went to a nearby Labcorp so I was 15 minutes late for my 12:15 appointment. When I got there, the place was empty and the attendant told me I'm only allowed to be 10 minutes late for an appointment so they would not be able to take me. Of course I was shocked -- I asked her to please show some mercy since I was only 5 minutes past the allowed time.....and then some one else came over. Now nowhere on any document that I received did it state that your appointment would be lost if you were 15 minutes late! The other employee that came over said - "no, it's our lunch time". I said that there was no one else there -- couldn't she please just take me now. She replied "No -- it would take an hour to complete the process" I have a lot of health issues and it's not easy for me to just "go to a different location and wait in line" as was suggested by the second employee. I could not believe how cold and uncompassionate these people were to me. I've never been treated this way before and will not coming back. read more
