I had a routine lab work completed at 3440 Lomita, Torrance office, which is one of my favorites. I have tiny veins and majority of the times, hospitals, lab offices, doctor offices have problems seeing my vein. I normally hate when I have to do lab work, but for my health and well being, I know it must be done. This office on 3440 Lomita, Torrance always complete my lab work with no problems. However, I had lab work completed today and the person who completed my lab work was the best I have ever had since I have been having to do lab work. She did it with ease and I felt nothing!!! I normally do not write reviews but I was so amazed at her expertise. She talk to me and made me feel real comfortable. I guess she notice that I was afraid. I was still waiting for her to put the needle in my vein until I look at my arm and seem she had already completed one tube and was on the second tube. She was awesome!! I wish I could get her every time I go but she assure me that all the ones who work in this office was great. Her name was Diane F. Well, I don't know if I am going to get Mrs. Diane F again, but I am going to really try to get her. If I don't get her next time, at least I know I will be comfortable in getting my lab work at this branch. She will definitely be on my "Christmas list". This place is horrible. I had an appointment at 12:30pm was waiting outside of the door of the office at 12:15. I had an appointment and no one told me that I had to pull out a QR code if I had an appointment only until after I waited 40 mins just to get a routine blood draw. They need to have a better system in place. There was a lady that told me I was on the list for the appointment--NO MENTION AT ALL about a QR code. When I approached the front desk lady after I had waited, she then told me about the QR code. All the meanwhile they have a stapled list of names of people with appointments. Ridiculous. I had a very disappointing experience at this location while coming in for a scheduled blood draw appointment. When I checked in, I had already entered my insurance information, so I did not immediately have my insurance card in hand. When the front desk called me up and asked for it, I opened my small phone bag to take it out. It only took a few seconds, but the front desk employee then made a loud announcement in front of everyone reminding patients to have their insurance cards ready before approaching the desk. I felt embarrassed and singled out by this comment, especially since I already had the card out in front of her. I arrived at 10:17 am for my 10:30 am appointment and waited. After noticing that people who arrived after me were being called before me, I went to the front desk at 11:09 AM to ask about my wait time. I was told there were three people ahead of me, including someone from a 9:30 am appointment. I accepted the explanation and returned to my seat, but just seconds later I was called up. Having to walk back and forth immediately after being told there were still multiple people ahead of me was confusing and frustrating. My blood was taken at 11:30 so over an hour wait from the time I checked in. Overall, I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I understand that delays can happen, but I would appreciate more respectful communication from the front desk staff and better handling of appointment check-ins so patients feel valued rather than embarrassed. read more

Am I the only person who walks into a business and automatically thinks about how I'd improve the experience? I doubt it. I think there are a lot of us. I lost count the amount of times I heard the front desk announce to those entering to "check-in at the kiosk". Seems the wall of kiosks should announce: Start Here, and just maybe it'll alleviate some of the monotonous repetitive announcements. I checked in from my phone because, well because I read the instructions when I made the appointment - I didn't have to use the kiosk. I get it. Too many people don't read so the need to instruct is necessary. This location is convenient. Service was friendly and I'm grateful I had an appointment because walk ins had at least an hour wait. I waited maybe 6 minutes before I was called, but the blood draw was fast, painless and efficient. Loads of parking. First floor, easy to find. The front desk staff handles an unbelievable amount of questions. I wonder if the check-in process were improved a bit, would it help with efficiency? read more

This was by far the worst Labcorp you could possibly go to. Made an appt @ 10:00 waited 1 hour to be called in. As I was brought to room #1 another patient was walking out. They told me to have a seat. Clearly this chair/room was not sterilized or wiped down. So before I sat down I grabbed the disinfectant and sprayed all over the chair and arm rest. Waited in the room for another 45 min before a lab tech came in. Bless her heart she said she was 72 yr old and she moved like one too. She talked and talked and talked.. At this point I just listened to her, she was thankful for her job and loved what she does. Had to give a urine sample there were no wipes, asked the front desk and got a rude response but finally was given a handful of wipes, I told her I needed one she said put the rest in the basket.....omg!!!!!! Never...Never....Ever choose this Labcorb. Finally out the door at 11:45 Freedom!!!! read more

I don't usually leave reviews but after the service we received today I feel I must. Our Doctor recommended this office after the lab corp in San Pedro didn't feel confident in drawing our 6 month olds lab. I get it, babies are tough patients. And we appreciated their honesty but the way the pedro office handled my baby and her little arms just rubbed my husband and I the wrong way, they were so rough, seemed annoyed and almost in a hurry to get us out, so we are glad they didn't attempt to do the draw. So we scheduled here. We got seen almost immediately with an appointment, the two ladies were so very gentle and patient with our baby gave her a warm compact to help find a vein, and even showed my husband how to hold her during the process ( both of these things the other office didn't even bother to do) It was very difficult for us as first time parents to see our baby go through a process like this but the ladies were so kind and were able to get her lab done on the first try. So thank you to both these caring ladies for being so gentle and caring with our little girl. read more

Had a 8:15 appointment and the guy at desk called me up for my lab papers. Was never called in. I continue to ask when i will be called they said we are still working on previous appointments. After 1 hour at 9:15 i asked again and wad told he never entered my paperwork in the system. When he was asked by coworker he replied I know its is just overwhelming here. My advice is to seek a different location if you need routine blood work. Horrible here read more

Had an appointment, checked in 15 minutes early as the email stated I should. After waiting over half an hour I was told there are 3 other appointments with my time and to be patient. I understand, but they took every other person with my time before me, none of who came early and one who they scolded for coming late. My grandma just got back from her appointment and was distraught. She said the African American receptionist lady was being rude and disrespectful towards her and every patient that was there at this location. If she doesn't want to work there find a different job, don't take your anger and frustration out on the patients especially old people who are not a threat. My grandma has Medicare, but that shouldn't matter that African American lady is still there getting paid to do her job. Whether the receptionist lady was white black Mexican Asian purple green doesn't matter, there would still be a problem regardless of who was being disrespectful towards my grandma. The one time she goes alone this happens, moving forward we will make sure not to miss another appointment for her safety and well being. Great team at this very busy Labcorp location! Like 10+ people waiting (not counting the folks outside) because so many walk-ins! Thankfully, we had 2 appts for my elderly parents. Both SHERRY and EN VON L. VON-GARDE did a fantastic job getting people checked in and blood drawn efficiently! We especially enjoyed the work from En Von where my parents are typically "hard sticks" and it's hard to draw their blood BUT En Von came through with the first try for each of them. This location allows walk-ins and I love it! The wait is never long. Check-in is quick an easy. You do everything through an automated machine in the lobby. You have to scan your ID, insurance card, and they call you in shortly. The lab is located on the second floor of the medical building. There are plenty of free parking. The staff is really nice and accommodating except one lady at the front desk. She is always rude, disrespectful, and acts like she doesn't want to be there. Patients at the lab are already not feeling well and don't need rudeness. My mom also comes to this location. It's extremely hard to draw blood from her veins because of the chemotherapy treatment she received. However, phlebotomists at this facility never have a problem to locate her veins and draw the blood. Overall, it's a clean location with pleasant staff and short waiting time. read more

This location opens at 7am and they also take walk-ins. I've been at this location many times over the years (by appointment and as a walk-in) and it's been a fairly good experience in the past. Today I didn't have an appointment, but I was 4th in line. They allow 3 at a time to enter their lobby to check in at the kiosks. I was in the second group of 3. We were invited in and we each signed in at the kiosks. When I finished, I noticed the other 2 people (who were behind me in the outside line) were now in front of me in the inside line. Apparently one had an appointment, but the other didn't. There are 5 patient rooms, so that meant I had to wait. Ugh!! I didn't want to make a scene about it, but I was disappointed that the lady who was directing us didn't say something. So I sat down and waited. Typically I've only waited about 20 minutes... However, not today! Surprisingly I witnessed 5 people taken in, who showed up 15 minutes to 1 hour before their scheduled appointments, while us walk-ins had to wait, wait, wait. I think I was in and out in 10 minutes, and my results were up online the following day! Parking was free, and there were a few spots open right in front of the building. I made an appointment for 3pm on a Monday, and everything went so smoothly. I walked right up to the counter (a few minutes early) and was brought in right away. I was lucky to have an awesome phlebotomist who was super kind and made me comfortable. I usually bruise terribly and end up with a phlebotomist who has trouble finding a vein. A paper on the front door of the building sends you across the parking lot to a labcorp with two chairs and a an office and hallway crammed with people. And then not honor your appointment. I made my appointment and as soon as I arrived, the lady in the front desk was very friendly and professional. She completely verified me and right away assigned me into a room for blood draw. Not even a minute, a wonderful, professional and super friendly lady named "Sherry G" withdrew my blood and I did not felt a pinch at all. So easy, no pain. Sherry then verified my name and had me spell my name, address and date of birth and also on the blood vials. I felt so secured and comfortable. She is so AWESOME!! If I can give less than one star I would. My mom went to this LabCorp for her blood work because the one she likes to goto is closed. The wait for to draw her blood was about 1.5 hours and when it was time to draw her blood, most of the office was on lunch. Well the person who drew her blood jammed the needle into her arm. My mom never screamed when she gets her blood drawn but because of this person who has no bedside manners, shoved the needle into her arm and kept doing it after she screamed. I'm sure my comment will over looked by the management staff because of their lack of empathy for people whose need their help. I hope I don't see this man again. I will not hold back my mood if this action repeats once again. Firstly this lab staff need to be educated how to treat people with respect especially their there to entrust you to draw their blood or whatever they needed to complete lab work to get healthy. Second, management need to reevaluate themselves why some many people are giving their office so many complaints about their lack of respect for people. This is THE BEST place to get a blood test in the South Bay. The staff knows what they are doing and don't turn you into a pin cushion. Wait time is reasonable. Lobby isn't very big but I've never had to wait for any unreasonable length of time. Staff is friendly and professional. Parking can be a problem depending on the time of day since there are so many other medical businesses in the same area but as far as this establishment goes, I think these guys are great. read more

i always have a terrific experience at this office all you need to do to make it a pleasant experience here is to go online and make an appointment . I am usually in and out within 15 minutes even with a line out the door when I have an appointment . The staff here is very friendly and is familiar you when you come on a regular basis as I do . there are usually two ladies at the front desk and up to 30 patients in the waiting room keep that in mind when you're waiting - 2 of them to 30 of you .Give them a break!! this office is really organized , never has made mistakes with my paperwork , results always get to my doctor timeley . One of the ladies at the front desk has been there for at least 10 years. She's got it down! She is also one of the friendliest staff. The phlebotomy staff are also super here. I'm sensitive , but rarely even feel a stick & I never bruise ! Just make an appointment and you will see how easy it is to have a pleasant experience . These guys are very efficient. Went to Quest Diagnostics first and they were a complete disaster. They were in the same building and so I think some people were pretty confused about where they were supposed to be. My visit overall was very quick, the staff were a thousand times more helpful and kind than the Quest staff. You are actually greeted by a human and not an iPad on a stick. Horrible, inexperienced phlebotomist botched blood draw. Front desk staff were good-natured, and there was no wait whatsoever. Apparently I came *after* the usual lunch time "rush hour" of patients. However, this was the worst blood draw experience I have ever had. Normally, I don't have trouble getting blood drawn, but "Edson", the phlebotomist at LabCorp on 3500 Lomita Blvd in Torrance, did not seem to know what he was doing during my visit Thursday, 9/17/2015. Edson tapped tentatively around my right arm, seeming completely clueless and uncertain. Then he switched to the other arm, trying to find a vein for a long time. Finally he switched back to my right arm. By that point, a more experienced phlebotomist had come over, and was coaching Edson, as he seemed to dig around in my arm. Finally, after too long and too much painful fumbling around, I could tell this just wasn't right, and I said, "You know what? Forget it." Blood spilled out over the chair, my dress, and the floor, but Edson had failed to fill even drop of blood in the tube. I have had blood drawn many times in the past and yet had never experienced anything like this before. The ugly marks on my arm are so bad today, that everyone has been asking "What happened to your arm?" When I tell them what happened, people can't believe this was from an inexperienced phlebotomist who failed to draw any blood at all. I am lodging a formal complaint with LabCorp as well as through my health insurance co, as we don't think we should have to pay to be stabbed by an untrained hack with a needle. I'm clearly very pregnant but the phlebotomist was still really rude to me. He barely said anything to me. Just pointed at the screen instead of actually asking me questions. Followed by a painful blood draw where he was pushing down on the needle while drawing my blood. 12 hours later it still hurts when I touch the area. I've never had that happen before. Then he gave me a cup for a urine sample, pointed at the bathroom, and then pointed at the room where I'm supposed to drop off my sample. Again, barely saying anything to me. I'm never going back to this office again. Word of advice: go to the labCorp in the building next door at 3400. There's a labCorp on level 2! read more

I walked in to the office and it is really small and their are 7 people waiting at 9:30am I ask the young lady at the window how long might the wait be and she said about 30 minutes. I asked what might be the wait time upstairs be? She smartly said our competitor? I don't know! I then apologized but it did not matter because she needed to made a side joke to one of her associates in the office that don't people know where they are? This seemed to amuse both of them when I was walking to a chair. The young lady then asked for me to go to the window. I re said the name and she just said "sure!". I give her the sheet I was given and she rudely said their is nothing on this sheet. She also made a comment that our child's doctor should have know better on just giving this paper and not a work order. Closed for lunch from 11:30-12:30. Not friendly hours 3. Won't take sample bc no order which they could easily print out Doctors please don't use lab Corp. it's ran inefficiently and directions are vague which will make it a problem for everyone!
