Came here around 10:30am for my 2 hour glucose tolerance test as a walk in on a Tuesday. Upon arrival I was greeted by the receptionist and went through filling out the paper work I brought in, waited for them to call me and handed them the filled out paperwork with my insurance card. I was in the back getting my blood work done within 15 mins since walking in and was told exactly what was the procedure to follow to make sure my test was done correctly. Every step was easy with no confusion. The staff was pleasant too - no attitudes or stuck up people compared to other places I have been to which was refreshing. I did call ahead of time and was told that I may have to wait a while before getting thw blood work done as this office does not close for lunch as their other lab in Torrance does but I was attended quickly and only had to wait 15 minutes as I had mentioned. read more

I dont know why i did not choose labcorp from the beginning. I had previously gone to quest diagnostic which is next door to labcorp and the girls at quest are rude and have no experience in customer service! Especially for the elderly i feel they should be treated w respect and patience they pist me off on how they spoke to people but anyway labcorp i been there couple of times i feel there is more organized ways there is definitely more room but its always busy plus the lady in the front desk very polite very friendly and made u feel like she wants to help. They have water on the side and restrooms ... i will definitely continue to come here not to the other place. Again i dont know why i didnt choose labcorp since the beginning. read more

Came in for something to pick something up. Very sick and cannot stay somewhere more than 10 minutes without running to the bathroom, which is clear from the test ordered. The girl at the front desk says ok I'll get it for you in a second. I'm standing there 10 minutes watching her do paperwork. I go outside then come back in and ask how much longer and she goes "yeah I'll get it now." Really? How little compassion can you have? This is what's wrong with healthcare. I hate getting my blood drawn - I literally can't look while they do it and stay distracted by the phone. Since I had to fast for this blood work, I got here pretty quickly. I was planning on going to one of the other places that opened at 8 (so I could sleep in a little) but ended up waking up early and arriving here at around 7:15ish. With no appointment, I was in the door and never even sat down in the waiting room - they took me back immediately. I waited less than 5 minutes in a chair before someone was in to do the blood draw. The lady was nice and quick - not the most gentle blood draw I've ever had done, but not horrible rough either (and like I said, I'm a wimp when it comes to needles so I'm probably more sensitive than most). I was in and out in maybe 10 minutes. I made it just in time though - when I left, the waitig room had gotten packed. read more

Although they have convenient hours, the wait is HORRENDOUS!!!! I walked in on a Saturday and waited 2hrs. Supposedly they were short handed but 2hrs to get blood drawn? I then thought "I should have made an appointment"... but in talking to other ppl waiting I learned some had made appts and they too had to wait 2hrs. That is unacceptable. I was at their mercy because I needed my blood drawn that day and I couldn't go back another day. To make matters worse, the receptionist (Betty or something like that) was extremely unprofessional, rude and I was ready to slap her. First, don't expect the patient to shout out their Date of Birth, Phone # or anything else you need to complete the sign in process. You call them up to the check in area, and give them their privacy. I am sensitive to this because I've been a victim of Identity Theft. She then started complaining (very loudly) that she was going to have to stay longer than expected due to the amount of patients that showed up, even though she said "this is the way it is every Saturday." I would expect a manager to make sure there is enough people to take care of patients especially when YOU know Saturday's are busy. I will be making a call to the facility and speaking to the manager. I hope I don't need additional lab work but if I do, I won't be visiting this facility. read more

I give a one star merely for the receptionist at the front desk who checks you in. The phlebotomist were great! Especially Diane, she's a sweetheart!!! The receptionist Veronica was the rudest person that I've encountered. She lacked common social and people skills that is typically required for such a position. Dealing with multiple people day in day out you'd think that she'd know better. She needs to find another career choice. Instead of asking nicely for information she demanded and snapped at clients. I even complained to other coworkers and they recommended to file a complaint. If coworkers don't enjoy your communication skills, you've got to go!! read more

I get it clinics get busy. But Monica, you cant be dismissive of your company's patients. Maybe try some eye contact and more than one minute to say "we don't do walk-ins". Also don't say "Thankyou" in the most condescending way and be surprised when you're told "You're welcome" in an even more condescending way. First off, very nice inside, that's the only positive thing I have to say. I'm a licensed phlebotomist, so with that said, here's the bad: 1) the lady who drew my blood was rude! 2) refused to used a butterfly needle even though I have super tiny veins (almost like a child), which is why they couldn't draw my blood at the doctor's office. 3) I needed a glucose test which requires fasting, she never asked me if I was fasting. 4) it took wayyyy too long to draw 5 tubes because she didn't use the proper needle. It would've taken 2 seconds instead of almost 5 mins of she would've used the proper equipment. I will never come back to this labcorp! read more

I just had the most painful blood draw of my life. Drawing blood has never phased me, but this phlebotomist's needle placement.....I reached my car and still felt nauseous from the pain. My vein is highly visible and very easy to draw from. It could have been worse. He didn't have to poke and repoke me multiple times; he was able to draw blood with the first placement, but it was still exceptionally painful. That said, I came before 7:30 a.m. and waited for only one minute. It seems to pick up quickly though. read more

Have been here twice the last year for employee hiring process. My travel nurse company uses Labcorp for the hiring process. I have been to other Labcorp locations, and this one doesn't do it for me. Long wait times, somewhat disorganized, closes during the day (annoying when the wait times are so long), overall not well run. Staff is friendly but needs some work. Recently visited another LabCorp in Orange County, they got me in and out much quicker and their hours of service were much more duable for me. read more

There must have been some staff changes or try to come on a week day. The last couple of times I was here, the receptionist was friendly, multi-tasked efficiently fast, and explained everything to me twice. The guy who drew my blood was even more efficient and swift. I am writing about my experiences with Chantay Franklin, phlebotomist, at LabCorp located at 3440 Lomita Blvd, #136, in Torrance, California. Over the years I have been told many times that I am what is commonly called a 'hard stick' and more times then not, the draw wasn't successful and I had to reschedule. I recently had to have blood work done and was dreading it. I went to LabCorp and Chantay Franklin was the person assigned to draw my blood. I told her of my previous bad experiences and she was very sympathetic and understood my doubts about her success. She offered me reassurance and with that and her excellent clinical skills she got the job done the first time!! Ms. Franklin is outstanding in both her clinical and people skills!! I pretty much like this LabCorp, I've been here a bunch of times to get my blood drawn. I have small veins, so people usually have a hard time. All of the phlebotomist a are really good.. Except the young Hispanic girl with all the tattoos. She's usually at the reception desk, and will draw blood when busy. Plz DO NOT let her, esp if you don't have easy veins!! I have been coming here since 2014 and it was always nice until the past 3 or 4 months. The service here since August has been downright awful and horrible. The nice and friendly receptionist who used to be here for 14 years, quit in July and was replaced by a very rude and unfriendly receptionist. All of them are jive but this particular one is the worst. She doesn't even smile when she approaches or greets patients or talks to them in a polite and friendly tone. She always talks to patients in a tone that's very unfriendly as if she's always mad or frustrated at them--she has definitely an attitude!! She also looks extremely unprofessional with both her arms covered in ugly and disgusting tattoos and an earring in her nose!!!!THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT HOW A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL SHOULD BEHAVE AND LOOK WHEN THEY ARE DEALING WITH PATIENTS. She was very rude to me the last two times I came here for Lab work; talking to me like I was trash, as if I didn't matter. The second time she did the same thing to me so talked to her in a bitchy tone back!! I am a nice person and I talk to people and behave to people very nice and respectfully but when a person disrespects me back or does not reciprocate the kindness--you bet I'm going to give them a taste of their own medicine!!!!! She needs to learn how to talk in a polite and kind tone to patients . Word from the wise--HOW YOU SAY SOMETHING IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS WHAT YOU SAY. When I went there Thursday, which was the second time--she looked like a gang banger--bulky sweats with an earring on her nose. You know the way you appear to patients in any medical field is very important. If you work in a lab or any kind of medical place, you should be required to wear nice clothes that you would wear to a job interview or church. IT IS NOT PROFESSIONAL AND CERTAINLY DOES NOT LOOK PROFESSIONAL TO SHOW OFF ARMS FULL OF TATTOOS AND WEAR EARRINGS ON THEIR NOSE OR LIP. I really miss the old receptionist who left. She was so awesome to the patients; so nice, kind, and friendly and polite to the patients who came here. And she always looked professional wearing a nice cardigan and blouse and pants. She was always happy to help patients on any matter as well. The lab techs here though are still very nice at least but it's not enough for me to give this lab a passing grade. Maybe when the people at the front desk become nice and polite like the way it used to be, maybe I'll give 3 stars. This place's grade is definitely a D. Very disgusted by the way they treated me the last two visits. It's sad if the patient is nice but the kindness is not reciprocated back!!!!! Definitely moving to another Labcorp. read more

I've been having my blood drawn at this location for at least six years and have never had a problem. In fact, I went there this morning for a "fasting" blood test. Checked in at 7:15 and left at 7:30. I'm a "hard draw" because my veins roll and collapse and are hard to locate but the phlebotomists at this facility have no problem taking my blood. For sanitation alone this place gets only 1 star and that's just to make myself feel better about coming here for lab tests. Pray for me. Standard Operating Procedure for this place wasn't thought out too well: First they have you give them a urine sample in the same bathroom as shared by those in the waiting room. You must take your sample out of the bathroom by holding your urine filled cup and walk down a hallway, passing those that are currently giving blood. Sanitation wise you just pee'd in a cup and after washing your hands you are required to hold this urine filled cup, walk out the bathroom (you are touching the door knob) and then walk this urine sample 20 feet past several blood drawing stations. I really think this needs to be re-thought out. The location in San Pedro was much better thought out. You leave your sample in the bathroom. read more

Their hours are nice and flexible but the receptionist is not exactly the friendliest. I got seated in a timely manner though and they were pretty systematic about going through the motions of getting my blood drawn and scheduling for getting me the results. Took my son here for a blood test a while ago, the older lady who drew the blood was calm, patient and did a great job. Receptionist was very friendly, BUT two of the the younger people working in the back had the worst attitudes I've ever experienced in a medical environment. Blatantly rude, hostile, ignorant, and made a rude comment about my fiancé, about my son, who was crying at the time. When I walked in, I felt like I was at the DMV. People in line waiting, the waiting room had basic chairs and old tile floors. The staff was friendly, and the individuals drawing the blood were clean, neat and double checked the spelling of my name. Blood draw was fine as I always drink water prior to having blood drawn and request the butterfly needle. No problems, easy! Problems come with their billing. The administrative staff must be the worst ever - always double billing, or posting late. I am always double checking their work or calling to make sure payments are credited. Secondly, LabCorp online website (to obtain a copy of blood work) is not user friendly at all - the layout is very busy, so you will have to take the time to navigate to find what you are looking for. My husband and I both had blood drawn at the Madison St. facility in Torrance Ca. yesterday in preparation for our upcoming physical examinations. The one hour and twenty minutes seemed excessive considering the lack of activity taking place but could have been forgiven since we did show up at 7:00 am without an appointment. However, combined with the lethargic service and borderline maintenance of the facility it left us disappointed enough to come home and compose this review. I would not go so far as to call the staff rude but there was absolutely no sense of urgency nor any form of a chipper "good morning" to greet customers. The chair where I had my blood drawn was worn and appeared less than sparkling clean. The vials and etc. used to draw blood were placed on questionable armrest during the procedure. Paint missing from the wall next to the chair only added to what I would call the third world experience had I not had more pleasant experiences in third world countries. In closing I would point out that we were not alone in feeling this way and that several others in the waiting room were more distressed than us. read more

I have been getting blood work at this location since the beginning of my pregnancy 7 months now. As any normal human this is something we never look forward to however the staff at this location always make it so comfortable and pleasant. From the moment you walk In The door you are greeted by the sweetest receptionist Aterica. She is one of the main reasons that keep me coming back to this location. As I have spent a lot of time here I hear her greet all age ranges in a professional manner but us her heart felt touch on each greeting. She calls everyone by name and is prompt with getting you Ito a chair. I have had the pleasure with getting my blood drawn by several of the techs and all are so gentle and make me feel comfortable. I am here today for my 3 hour glucose testing and am currently 7 months pregnant, so you can only imagine that I am super uncomfortable. But that's not the case, they allowed me to make myself at home and put my feet up. Thank you to the staff for aiding in making my pregnancy a wonderful experience. read more
