Came back today for one of my least favorite things to do...have my blood drawn. I was surprised that I was able to get an appointment when I logged into the website 2 days ago. The phlebotomist told me someone must have canceled when I mentioned it to her today. I arrived about 40 minutes early, but wasn't seen until close to my appointment time as other patients who walked in after me must have had earlier ones. As I watched interactions between staff and patients, I noticed some improvement in service. They must have read their reviews and were a little friendlier. My phlebotomist was skilled and didn't leave me with any bruises. Hopefully I won't have to go back for another year. read more

Very disappointing experience. Despite having an appointment, the wait was extremely long. I was told I needed either a physical copy of my lab order or to email it to an address that's only posted inside the office -- something that should have been communicated ahead of time. Even after emailing it, I waited over 45 minutes for them to receive it. Meanwhile, two other people also had to come back to the waiting room to email their lab orders while I was there, so it clearly wasn't just me. When I suggested this process should be explained online, the lab technician rudely responded that she "doesn't manage the website," which felt dismissive and unhelpful. I told that tech that I wasn't comfortable with her drawing my blood, and as I left she I saw her speaking rudely to someone else in the waiting room. read more

I hate them so much I just had to drop off a sample and they were so rude and arrogant saying I need to make an appointment. An appointment to DROP OFF A SAMPLE?? I was like all you have to do is take this bag from my hand and put it in the fridge but these utterly lazy and incompetent people refused to. And told me to leave and come back with an appointment. Wow, things have crazy improved here! That is if you make your appointment in advance and use the text message system to check in. Everything was set up perfectly with my order from my doctor, already in their system, and all of my identification already loaded in. I was really glad I spent some time to set everything up online so that I was in and out in a total of five minutes. For my part, I was one minute early for my appointment, and I did all the appropriate checking in. There is easy, free parking in the basement and then just take the elevator straight up to the third-floor, go out to the left, and they are two doors down. I had insurance change and Lab Corp is no longer in their network. Came to Quest to get a routine annual blood work. I will be changing my network back so I can return back to Lab Corp and Eff this place! Supposedly they do not take walk ins anymore even though their recordings and advertisement say walk ins welcome. They only have 2 patients in the waiting room and keep telling me it will take a while to get to me because they have to take appointments first... basically trying to persuade me and turn me away because of 2 patients in the lobby, lmao! They are so slow it takes them almost 20 minutes to complete one patient which usually a normal blood draws take 5 minutes to complete Monday mid morning, there were 2 nurses and no front desk receptionist to help you at all! If you're a walk in, you have to wait until all the patients with the appointments get seen first. At the slow rate they are going and patients with appointments keep coming in you are pushed back and back and back! That's exactly what they told me. This place is so S.L.O.W. and R.U.D.E. employees with no empathy!! But kill them with kindness and sometimes it works. I get it, it's not all their fault. They are probably understaffed. Blame the corporate, Quest Diagnostic.. they got rid of receptionist because they are cutting back but yet they are busy with lots of patients with only 2 nurses. They close for lunch hour. Located off Prospect in Redondo Beach. Came here due to my other locations I go to didn't have any appts available and this location had only one left in the morning and was the closest. The parking here is a little challenging since it's a medical building lots of people come here. They do have underground parking as well and that fills up quick too. The wait room area here is small. The staff was nice and took my appt on time. Overall not a bad experience here only downside is the parking and small waiting area. read more

My insurance takes Quest as an in network provider. I went here for some blood work and received a bill from a different company other than quest? When you call the office for the billing department no one ever answers or returns calls. My insurance said it was out of network since Quest didn't send the bill. Literally the WORST lab to go to for any blood draw. Nobody is ever available to answer questions or assist with checking in. I have been coming here for years and always have a great experience... as good as you can giving blood. My doctors office made a mistake and labeled my orders non-fasting so I had to come back twice. All the early morning appointments were booked two weeks ahead. They let me do walk in first thing in the morning. I was done in five minutes and within that short time the office filled up with appointments. These nurses work hard and I appreciate them. Came in to get labwork, just a blood draw done at 9am and 1 patient waiting. Granted I didn't have an appointment, so I am sure that experience is better, but for a lab to have no capacity for walk-ins is just sad. Staff was nice. Unfortunately, I've made quite a few trips to different quest locations in Los Angeles in 2024. I used to live on the westside and had a handful of different locations close to me. That said my experience with all of them was absolutely terrible. Super unprofessional. And honestly ratchet. Detestable patient care. That said this location which is now the closest one to my new address, comparatively is absolutely outstanding. They actually do their job here exceptionally well. It's possible to get appointments with a day or two notice. The staff is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable, and they genuinely seem to care about their patients. Which was not my experience at all with every other quest I've ever been to! They're also good at what they do. Meaning they can find lab orders in their system and ensure that insurance is linked to your account. Both things I had ongoing issues with at other locations. Can't recommend this quest more highly! Charissa has taken care of me twice in the past month, she is wonderful! read more

As an update, I will say I sent quest corporate an email describing my poor interaction, and somebody did reach out to me. I was told that they take patient satisfaction seriously, and would look into things at this particular location. I did receive a follow up message and appreciated the discussion I had with the lady that called me. The only thing I would say is when speaking to corporate and describing details of my dissatisfaction, she did say a few times as an excuse for the poor behavior that "they could have been having a bad day." Unfortunately, in the medical profession, that's not an excuse, and we should all know that before choosing this, as a profession. But overall satisfied with the fact that somebody did reach out to me because I did not think they would. Hopefully the phone call amounts to some type of change. read more

This is one of the worst labs I've been to. I had an appointment and waiting in the lobby feels like waiting to be sentenced. The staff was rude, harsh (I always bruise from their phlebotomists) and took in other people with later appointments before me. They requested I leave a card on file and although I was apprehensive, due to a fear of being charged incorrectly, they refused to perform the blood draw. So I agreed. Then lo and behold, they did charge my card incorrectly and I have spent hours trying to resolve this. Please do yourself a favor and do not come here. read more

First of all, someone else here who left a review said they don't accept walk-ins anymore. Untrue! I was a walk-on today. Apparently when I got there, the sign-in machine said that because I was a walk-in, I may have to wait a half hour to an hour, and maybe even more, and suggested that I make an appointment if I don't want to wait. I needed to get this done today, so I chose the option to wait for an opening. I sat down, pulled out my phone, and prepared to wait for an hour or so. But to my surprise, people were moving in and out pretty quickly, and maybe 10 minutes into my wait (at most) my name was called. The person who called me into the back and took my blood was named Laura. She was very friendly, and fast. A lot of nurses and phlebotomists have trouble finding va good vein on me, but Laura found it quick, and on the first Try. And it didn't hurt at all! I was out of there MUCH sooner than I thought I would be, and I left with a huge smile on my face! . I will definitely return here for future blood testing. My one suggestion is to make a reservation ahead of time. There were 2 people who came in after me, who apparently made appointments, so they were called back almost as soon as they checked in. Are there zero stars available? I have never been treated so rudely at a place before. There's a big sign in the door that says walk ins welcome. You check in and they make it so you don't even make eye contact with a human. I eventually went up to ask a question about my insurance- she had no idea there was even a walk in signed up and was SO rude...The attitude she gave me was unacceptable. Kindness goes a long way. Wish I had this woman's name but I was so taken aback at how horribly I was treated I just walked out. Wouldn't have trusted these people taking my blood even if I had an appt. I meant to write this cautionary review sooner but just got around to it today: On Friday 12/21/2018 I went into Quest to have blood drawn for my annual wellness exam. Quest is the only lab nearby covered by my insurance, so I pretty much have to go to them. First, let me say that having blood drawn is not something I'm fond of. In fact, I'm rather squeamish but I usually get through it without incident. On one past occasion at Quest, the phlebotomist insisted that I had to look at the vials of blood to identify them; I was equally adamant that I would not. Fortunately, she relented and there were no other traumas until this most recent visit. BTW, my veins are very easy to find. Not that I could recall a specific phlebotomist on the basis of an annual visit, but I can say with certainty that the one who drew my blood on that day has never done so before--and never will again. He was a youngish White or Hispanic male. Seemed personable and normal enough at the outset. Things progressed in a routine manner (which means I look away and hum to myself to get through it) until right after he drew my blood. At that point he began massaging the site, rather than simply applying pressure for moment or two. I thought it was odd and even commented to him that I had never experienced this protocol before. He said nothing in response. After he was done with his weird massage of the draw site, he applied an oversized gauze pad that required two strips of tape to secure it. I had a bad feeling about what he had done to me... . Sure enough, when I stripped off the bandage a couple of hours later I had the makings of a big-assed bruise where he had done his funky thing to my arm that took weeks to heal. Great fun right before the holidays. I tried to contact Quest to report this but you can't get a hold of a live person to speak to, or even a place to leave a message of concern. So, all I can do is forewarn you--and make sure this strange fellow doesn't get anywhere near me again. BTW, my veins are very easy to find, so there is no anatomical excuse for what happened. I had an appointment and they made me go sit in the lobby on standby because they couldn't find my order and couldn't wait a minute while I was on the phone with my doctor. I needed my blood drawn because I've been sick for weeks and the lady wouldn't stop talking over me as I'm trying to explain my situation. It was either go back to the lobby on standby or walk out. So I walked out I don't have time to sit there for hours even tho I had an appointment. I don't know why people choose to work somewhere and then treat the patients with disrespect, no care, and no patience. The nurses are awesome but front desk is horrifying. Incredibly rude! They make you feel like you walked into their own house and you weren't invited. Your doctor will say walk-in is ok but at this location it is NOT. They will turn you away and send you to another lab so they don't have to work. The front desk has a way of making you feel like you made a mistake which can be hard if you're old, pregnant, frustrated or missed work to get a lab draw. I do NOT recommend this lab. read more

TL;DR if you are going here for anti body testing and paying the inhumane 125$ fee- do NOT let nurse Peter touch you. See pictures for reference. I understand that these are unprecedented times and that medical workers are truly at the front line of this pandemic. With that being said, that is not an excuse for malpractice and profanities. My boyfriend returned today on the verge of tears with blood stains on his shirt. He was poked and proddered multiple times left with blood (see photos) to which the nurse Peter proclaimed F***. Next he said that he'd have to reschedule to let the wounds heel and was not able to draw the blood. Quest labs clearly does not care about people, just the money they are getting off this pandemic. I went in today to have blood drawn for my annual physical exam. I had never been to this facility before, but couldn't imagine I would have any issues. After all, what can go wrong when drawing blood and peeing in a cup? I was seen by Cynthia and she was rude from the get go. The office has a sign, suggesting that patients use a mask. I ask for one and she said they didn't provide masks to patients. I handed her the paperwork for the exam and the insurance card. She said they were not contracted with my medical group. I explained I had just changed medical groups but all the insurance information was correct. She told me she would need the name of the medical group and I asked her if she couldn't get it from the doctor's paperwork requesting the exam. She said no. If I didn't have it, I'll have to pay out-of-pocket. So I got the information and provided it to her. She never asks from which arm I would rather have the blood drawn. She never asked me to confirm that it is my name on the blood tubes. So I ask her to check if the tubes have my correct information after she was done drawing the blood. She shows me a sheet with labels that are not placed on the tubes and does not put them on while I'm there. This is 100% against protocol. read more

I had an email with an official electronically signed order for lab work alongside an appointment there was a guy working there on June 29 he said there's nothing he could do for me that he needed a "hardcopy " . in this day and age an email isn't considered a hardcopy with proof and identification ? I went to another location in Palos Verdes , a LabCorp , they said I was absolutely right that this guy did not know what he was doing and that was an absolutely official order , drew my blood no problem. This guy wasted my time at this location was militant and does not belong in this industry . to boot I heard another phlebotomist prior to me being called in a woman said she didn't have an order the woman brought her right in and just asked about her insurance information and helped her. don't go here it's a disgrace. read more

Another L for quest. This location is just as poorly run as the others in the South Bay. Doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not. You will wait, and sometimes an hour or longer. Each location gives different instructions on what to do upon arrival. Avoid any Quest if possible. read more

The WORST!! I had an 8:10 appointment. I checked in via text as instructed at 8 and waited in my car for them to let me know to come up as per their instructions. After waiting 20 minutes I came into the office and was told they texted me at 8 to come up. I never received it and showed them my phone but they didn't care hat note I missed my appointment and have to wait until they are finished with all their other appointments. The receptionists are always unpleasant and fight with patients. The office has a bad vibe. I only come here because it's closer to my home. read more

I'm very impressed with Latanya, the lab technician who was working there on Wednesday the 23rd. She was not only cheerful and helpful, making the patient at ease; she was also very skilled at what she does, my mom said she did not feel the needle at all. I can't recommend the lady who sat at the check-in desk however. It was not easy to communicate with her. She has that authoritative unwelcome look about her, and with that grim face she quenched any communication thirst I had, i.e., could I get my mom's urine sample now since she has the urge, anyway I swallowed whatever the questions I had while sitting there. No nonsense, convenient and quick. Make an appointment and you're sure to be seen at your pre-set time. Easy check in, a table located at the reception desk ready for you to type in a few pieces of info so your name pops up on the appointment list. The tablet is not so fantastic as far as feeling welcome, but as soon as I was greeted by the lab technician I felt perfectly comfortable. Seems the process here is pretty straight forward, nothing left me questioning my decision to visit this location. Loads of free parking, convenient location. Decent waiting area with television and the obligatory magazines to partake while you wait. I love that I don't leave with lots of paperwork describing my visit; I felt confident lab results would interface with my health insurance and all would be accessible to me within an hour or two (and it was!) read more
