My first impression was that the waiting area wasn't crowded, it was clean, check in was smooth and easy, and my appt was on time. Emily was professional and thorough. She has great bedside manner and I hardly felt the poke. I was in and out of there in under 10 minutes. Beyond a drag. Have been twice, with appointments for draws that required fasting. First time the technician called me in, 30 minutes late, to tell me my insurance didn't cover the test. Turned out it would have had she done things right. Second time, 15 minutes after my 10:40 appointment time, I was told they were running late, and it would take at least 45 more minutes to get to me. Btw, one person got there 10 minutes before me, so she got the news after waiting 25 minutes. Awful experience. It broke up my morning, and missed work for an hour, because I had to drive 40 minutes (total) plus the wait. read more

Now I know why this place has such a bad reputation. Stopped by to drop a urine collection I had to do and there was one person waiting in the lobby. No-one at the front. I knocked several times, and finally a Hispanic lady came out of the back and I told her I needed to drop off my sample. She told me she couldn't take it right then and to sign in at the kiosk. 10 minutes later a customer leaves and she comes out and announces to us she would be taking a break! We both looked at each other with bewilderment - the place had only been open for an hour and 45 minutes and she was taking a break? After 20 minutes she comes back and disappears into the back room. Another 15 minutes go by before she comes to get another customer before me. After she calls a second customer she proceeds to tell me she can't take me today. I asked her why not? She replies because I have to check your ID and insurance. I said that would take less than 5 minutes. She said make an appointment and come back another time! Unbelievable! read more

I have a new doctor within the Sutter group and they use Sutter and Quest Diagnostics. I arrived at the Quest office in Placerville and was prompted to register on a kiosk which informed me there were no appointments left. I called out through the receptionist's window to the "void" asking if I could speak to someone. The attendant appeared to be working there alone - she yelled back in an irritated tone that she would be with me in a few minutes. When she appeared, I asked if they had received my doctor's order; after a few minutes she reappeared, standing in front of the restroom, wagging a plastic cup which looked more like a to-go container than a sterile specimen bottle and said something like "come on". I felt humiliated and felt exposed in front of others who were waiting. She told me she'd written my initials on the cup in Sharpie and for me to place the cup in a tray next to other specimens on a wall shelf in a room where another patient was sitting in a chair waiting perhaps for a blood draw. I imagined that this is what it feels like to be processed into jail! No privacy and no labeled, sterile specimen jar. I was not confident that they would know whose specimen it was! (I thought, what if another patient has the same initials as I do?) On top of the misery I was experiencing, the initial "not knowing" if I was even going to be helped, combined with the harried attitude of a lab tech who could not keep up with the volume and therefore was unable to treat patients in a professional way with care and concern and with respect for patient confidentiality leads me to this one-star review. read more

I do not like that everything has to be done online or by phone menus. You cannot reach a human by phone. I even submitted a question several days in advance, and got no response which was frustrating. Give me a human! read more

Normally I wouldn't write a review for a lab unless they excelled or really failed. This place failed big time. I was treated so rudely by the staff here, I will be asking my doctors to use any other lab from now on. P.S. The old office is closed. There's no sign. I went twice before someone saw me knocking on the door and told me they'd moved. I mentioned that to the staff and they ignored me. Also, they did scold me, twice, for not making an appointment, but when I told them I tried but their appointment system isn't working, I got a shrug. Worst possible place to get a lab test. Walk in appointments are rarely available and they don't tell you that in advance. Then if you make an appointment while at their office there is no way to change or cancel it with a phone call or by going online - you have to physically go back to their office. So that makes TWO wasted trips to their office! Try calling their customer service number (530) 295-8329 and you will see there is no representative you can talk to to change or cancel appointments. The final insult is that a patient cannot call Quest in Placerville to see if a lab test you need is available or not before making an appointment. So if it isn't (e.g. the H. pylori test was not available on June 6, 2022) the patient would have wasted yet another trip! The Marshall Hospital Lab in downtown Placerville and at Cameron Park doesn't have these problems, plus you get your lab results the same day. read more

This place is always problematic. Today was the proverbial straw. I went in for my appointment as scheduled. I was 10 minutes early. I checked in electronically and sat on the floor, as there were only three chairs in the waiting room, with about five or six patients(mostly elderly) standing or sitting on the floor. 20 minutes after my appointment, without seeing an employee or hearing a patient called, I left. This will effect my doctor's appointment, but I don't care. This is no way to treat customers of any business. I will not be back. read more

I was willing to wait since I didn't have an appt. but after waiting 1 1/2 hours and staff not checking back with me for some sort of update as to when I might be able to get in I left. Had a choice of using Marshall labs or Quest but chose Quest as they had on-line appointments. I had been to Quest before and never had to wait long. I arrived at my appointment on time to find a half dozen people ahead of me and only three chairs in the room. After a half hour, I finally was seen. I'm not sure what the point is of offering appointment times. Are they overbooking or just taking walk-ins as they arrive? read more

3/3/17. Quest moved to a new facility. Hooray. It's clean! This review is in no way reflective of the staff. The counter gal and the tech were fantastic! Friendly, nice and knowledgeable. Now the actual place. It is a complete hole in the wall. When you walk in this place it has a STRONG Oder of mold. The carpet is filthy and the shades are draw so it is musty and damp. I can't believe the health department would think this is a sanitary place to be drawing blood and taking other vital things. I had made an appointment and needed to get blood work so I went s head with the appointment. NEVER again! You might catch something if you go to this place or have your blood contaminated!!! read more

I just went to the Cedar Ravine location in Placerville, after going to the old location on Corker (I didn't know they moved). The wait was minimal (less than 10 minutes). I fore-warned the Tech I'm a difficult draw because of almost invisible veins. She missed! Not her fault. No biggie, the second Tech hit a home run using a butterfly needle. Super clean, better location than Corker and no complaints here. Let's face it, no one wants to be stuck by a needle but this morning was a pleasant experience. Thank you Ladies! read more

I'm sure this quest location is loved by plenty of locals who have had better experiences than I did, so I'm in no way suggesting that my opinion is of the highest value. I simply wish that between needing to google whether the tests ordered for me even existed and shutting down my questions by saying she is "only able to work at her wage" that Alyssa had felt "working at her wage" didn't mean that I don't have a right to understand or ask questions about the contradictory information I'm being repeatedly given. I understand that it falls on the provider to order tests accurately, and that it's not her fault that I was somehow allowed to get all the way to her before it was discovered that my condition was not really testable via lab tests. However, reacting defensively to my confusion and desire to ask questions regarding the tests she first surmised I needed instead of those ordered, then eventually admitting she didn't actually know anything about or where I could get them, is not an adequate substitute for simply referring me to someone qualified to answer my questions. Punctuating this unprofessional behavior with plenty of "babe" and "hun" types of uncalled for terms of endearment is condescending and insulting. But oh well, I suppose I'm just the idiot who had the gall to walk in 20 minutes before she got to go on her lunch break, with tests I didn't know I didn't need. I truly didn't mean to piss you off or waste your time by asking questions I didn't know you didn't know the answer to. read more

I just had my blood drawn there and the place was clean and neat as a pin. Nobody was there, so I was "in & out" in a matter of mere minutes. The gal who checked me in and drew my blood gets 5 stars! I am usually a "hard stick" but she made it look and feel, so easy! A real Pro, plus a nice personality to chat with. read more

It's not possible to make an afternoon apt . They send you away when no people are there or only one. Not everybody can come at 7:30 am . Once you put in over 60 it only gives that time . People that live far should not have to drive far to get blood and else tested. The number doesnt work too. Make funny noise ! Please fix it fast. Insurance pays and you should be allowed to wait and get it done. Nothing works , the number and time . Should give you all windows of time . Fix it please . I give it no stars . One lady Nintendo is very nice . Had a good chat . Sure people do cancel and not show up all the time . So hearing we are all full doesn't make any sense ? You should be able to walk in and take care of lab work . It's always been like that . Now not . Why ? They test your temp before taking you. So why can't you just walk in ? Scheduled an appt online (very convenient) for 7:45 am on a Monday and when I arrived, was in and out within 20 minutes, including paperwork and taking my blood. Raymonda was very friendly, the facility was clean, and parking ample. Would definitely use them again if necessary. read more

This is not about the person that was working. This is about how the office is managed. There is only one person on staff. That person has to greet people do all of the paperwork and then do all the blood draws. This is a system that is due to cause errors. We made an appointment but still had to wait for a half hour before being seen. The person working was apologetic and was working her butt off. Kudos to the person working. read more

Don't go to the Cedar Ravine Rd Quest. I went to them for tests my Stanford Doctor order to diagnosis a rare disease he thinks I may have. They are incompetent and unprofessional. They made the process of getting three test done so hard and made me feel like leaving my samples with this lab was a waste of time. They acted like looking up the instructions on how to handle my samples was an inconvenience rather then their job. They even laughed at the difficulty they were creating for me. Shame on them for treating a patient that way. I felt like my samples might not be handled correctly. Go to the Quest in Cameron Park. They are professional and handled my samples with care. read more

Quest is my go to lab and I go weekly for tests. I have been to Cameron Park,Placerville, and El Dorado Hills. I have had good and bad experiences depending on the day/office. Brittney, formerly at the CP office, is now in Placerville. She's the best at what she does and is incredibly efficient. I only wish I could leave no stars. The hours are not convenient for anybody who works with hours from 7am-11:30 closed for lunch then 12:30pm-4pm???Really? Bankers hours for a couple of techs? I waited 30 minutes at the Cedar Ravine location with kidney stones with infection and at 12:30pm exactly the door was opened and the first tech could see I was desperate and in pain so sent me back to leave my specimen. When I came out I needed to leave within a few minutes as my ride was leaving, I told another tech checking in a new patient (she was chit chatting asking how the patient felt discussing her issues in front of me) so I spoke up to say I needed to check out and she (brown shoulder length hair and glasses) rudely and loudly ordered me to sit down and said she'd be out to deal with me later!!!! As I said I had to go but left all of my info for them name,phone number, insurance billing info and that bitch threw my specimen away!!! Needless to say my physician was not pleased to hear about Quest Diagnostics lab tech's behavior. She has set me back in my treatment and I have already filed a complaint against the ignorant woman who mistreated me. Not a good representation for Quest Diagnostics. Been there 4 times. Clean, friendly staff and convenient location. I don't plan to spend a long time there, so I don't understand prior comments about the "decor". I don't need a fancy place to draw my blood, I'm not there for the furniture! What they do have is quite comfortable for those waiting. I've never waited long, if at all. I've always had pleasant conversations with all the techs while my blood was drawn. read more
