I was stressed as I was dealing with a lot. I googled and researched caregiver agencies in the Elk Grove/Sacramento area. I was nervous having a complete stranger watch my loved one. When I called, I was referred to someone (unfortunately, I forgot her name) but she was super helpful and empathetic. Eventually, a Care Designer named Victoria Roberts, came to evaluate my loved one and helped with all the paperwork. She was professional, asked all the right questions, and seemed very experienced. She started her search to get a caregiver come 3x/week right away, since I was on a time crunch. After discussing the situation with the rest of my family, they decided they could handle the situation and that we didn't need to spend the money. I felt horrible having to call Victoria to let her know we weren't moving forward with everything, as I knew she worked hard in trying to find a good caregiver for us last minute. I thought for sure Victoria would be angry given all the work she had to do. To my surprise, she was so kind and understanding! Plus, this was all after hours around 8pm! I was surprised on her availability to talk to me and her kindness. I slept in a recliner for 2 months in hospitals upon hospitals watching over a loved one. On top of work and everything else, I was exhausted. Victoria's kindness meant the world to me. Next time I need a caregiver, I most definitely will reach back out to Nurse Next Door.

One of the worst care provider services I have ever encountered. The owner operator has…read moreexceptionally poor and inappropriate interpersonal, professional and communication skills. Both the support staff and I experienced inappropriate conduct, harassment and retaliatory behavior from the owner operator. There was expectation from the owner operator that staff interrupt agreed upon support hours to deliver administrative forms on a routine basis. The owner operator will provide instructions in writing or orally then angrily and unprofessionally demands the exact opposite, then angrily demand the reverse again. The constant 180 degree back and forth and angry, unprofessional, punitive and retaliatory behaviors towards support staff and myself was wholly inappropriate and exhausting. We never knew what side was up at any given time due to the owner operators behavior and lack of ability to run the agency appropriately. There was agreement to move a problematic employee along which was ignored and not implemented without discussion. When the inevitable crisis occurred the client and other staff were blamed by management and management related against the client. Third party professionals that were involved concur with this assessment. There is also documentation to support. Above and Beyond engages in warm body staffing and refuses to problem solve. Direct support staff and clients are belittled by owner operator and staff are actively harassed due to former life events and on issues which are protected by labor law. Above and Beyond has a history of violating employment law. Due yourself a favor and do not engage this agency in any way.

There is a lot to navigate and some of the larger companies push hard to get you to go under contract. We initially went with a large company with good reviews but were less than happy for many reasons. Connect Fiji Care has been a lifesaver for us. The owner, Lusia is extremely professional and spent so much time with us discussing our father's needs. Then, the staff far exceeded our expectations. Our father has 2 caregivers as he needs 24/7 care. Both are experienced and know how to navigate dementia. They are attentive and engaging and manage his home very well. They also communicate with us if there are any concerns. Our father is now content and able to stay in the comfort of his own home and is enjoying the company of these two nice men. Again, we are so grateful for them and thankful to have found them. Highly recommend!
