Used this service for a short time for a family member who is learning how to walk again, needed…read moremobility assistance and help with physical therapy, and assistance with daily activities because of mobility issues. Their hourly fee is expensive. The In-home aid the Company sent had no training or experience with assisting anyone except perhaps a family member with dementia. We have insurance that contributes to part of the cost. The insurance requires a short form to be submitted with the assistance provided daily. The owners said we have our own form. We showed the owner what information was required. She said we will included that in our form. Their filled out form had multiple issues time after time. We paid them with a check which the owners lost, then found. We had to put a stop payment on the check. I hope there are better run services.

I'm sure that your experience (the quality of care, facility, or personnel is dependent on who you have and who you are, i.e. "your mileage may vary"). My experience was the exact opposite of the previous reviewer. From day one, Sonder was compassionate, efficient, and never left me feeling like I had no support. My mother's health declined rapidly, which I didn't see coming. Sonder provided a wonderful home health aid. (Griselda ), to help a few mornings a week, as well as RN support (shout out to Chichi, Asia, and Julio) when I needed it. Support staff was also wonderful (Jennifer and Joann stood out among the others).They took care of all DME needs and supplies quickly, adding whatever I needed whenever I asked. I probably wasn't the easiest client, as I had a few panics in the middle of the night. It's scary being a solo caregiver! Every time I needed them, they were available by phone to talk me through it, or showed up with kind words and voices of experience. My mom ended up passing very quickly, and Sonder handled it like a champ. Although I will never have the personal need again, I wouldn't hesitate to use them or recommend them to my family and friends. A parting thought... the Golden Rule has never seemed so obvious to me in the past months/years of caregiving. I always treat those helping me with kindness and compassion, remembering that what they do is not easy, and they could always be doing something else. They choose to be there taking care of our loved ones, and for that I am forever grateful!

Presentation consisted of what they could remember about what PACE offered. If a question was asked about a particular service i.e. respite care, yes, they have it, but no further expansion of what their "respite" care really offered -- no details. Then the presentation became a banter between the two men about how awful care we were probably receiving from our existing healthy plan and physicians: doctors have to see a patient every 6 minutes so how much care are you getting; have to have another doctor assign a specialist for further care; surgery especially critical surgery scheduling would leave patients in pain until the surgery -- rep. knew because he had to wait for 3 weeks for his wife's broken angle. Just more bashing of every other local health plan. One man was nicely dressed in polo shirt and slacks; the other man was a slob -- old jeans and white shirt that maybe fit 20 lbs. ago, but not now -- needed a hair cut -- talked down to people who asked questions and asked for details. Presentation was a waste of time! Most everything PACE offers is all locked down anyway -- social services and activities are available through ZOOM and other computer programs -- oh, yeah, big fun! I can do that now and not pay $2,300 a month (maybe because they didn't know the rate and after consultation with other decided it was on a sliding scale) for services offered on a computer and by consultation with their one doctor director presently in Natomas.

Every caregiver we've interacted with has been professional, kind, and genuinely caring--not just doing a job, but forming a real connection with my dad. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands. One of the biggest reliefs for us has been how they handle the billing process with CalPERS Long Term Care Insurance. They direct bill the insurance company, which means we don't have to worry about being the middle person or dealing with the stress of reimbursements. That alone has saved us so much time and energy. They also went out of their way and helped my mom in an emergency situation. They also are very quick and accommodating when last minute care is needed.
