I was looking into care options for a love one and a friend of mine highly recommends this place. She was impressed with the quality of care her mom received. I decided to take a tour As I arrived, the tour manager had infos ready for me.. She was very helpful and all my questions were answered. THIS PLACE IS IMPRESSIVE IN ALL ASPECTS!! Location and physical plant is topnotch. I love the exceptional cleanliness and home-like environment. Dining area is like a sit-down restaurant. Great library with lots of reading materials. Their recreational activities provides opportunities for mental and physical stimulation. As I observed the staff, I'm in awe of the respect, attention and kindness to their residents. Beware!!!! Moved my dad out of Eskaton after living there for 3 years. Had his apartment professionally cleaned including the carpet. He was charged for a month longer than he stayed and 2 months later we still haven't gotten his d 500.00 deposit back. Beware!!! read more

If I could give this business 10 stars I would. It's a hard decision to put a loved one in assisted living but after meeting with the Director at Eskaton I knew he would do well. They have lots of activities, an awesome pool and spa ( I would swim with him frequently), beautiful grounds with chairs and tables where you can sit with a cocktail and take in the beautiful view of the small lake and the surroundings. We both thought the food was great in the dining room. If you have a craving for something and they have the fix'ins they will make it for you. I had mentioned to one of the waitress' I had such a craving for a rootbeer float. A while later she brought one out to me. Such thoughtfulness. They have two banquets during the year, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Buffet style, Prime rib, turkey, poached salmon with all the trimmings with desserts galore. When my husband started declining I contacted Hospice and between Hospice, me and the Caregivers at Eskaton he was in very good hands. The caregivers and med techs were wonderful. They treated my husband like he was their own grandfather. He was treated with dignity, love and some shed tears when he passed. He very much enjoyed the people he met. Some becoming good friends and they would meet mornings for breakfast. He was very well taken care of. I have no regrets......... read more

Our mother was in assisted living at the Lodge for a year and a half. She moved here from another out-of-state Assisted Living Facility that was elegant but had terrible care. We cannot speak highly enough about the staff ... care givers, med techs, facilities, activities, dining, front desk, etc. While there will always be hiccups when caring for a mobility- and sight-impaired person on a lot of medication, this facility always went out of their way to care for her and make her feel loved, welcome, and that she belonged. We have experience with 2 other facilities and cannot recommend the Lodge at Placerville Eskaton highly enough. read more

My dad lived at Eskaton Placerville for 3 years: 1 year in the cottages and 2 years in assisted living. Not only is it a beautiful setting but the facility was always super clean and the staff were very professional, caring, and always made an effort to connect with my dad and the other residents who live there. My dad enjoyed the various activities and themed holiday events. I really didn't want to give 2 stars as the facilities and staff are all awesome. I'm giving 2 stars because of just one person (Evelyn) and she is the head of the care home. She is one of the rudest person I have ever met. It is hard enough having to put your love one in a home but on top of that having someone that doesn't even seem to care and is really a "the b word" in charge....that is just wrong. My grandmother was a former resident of Eskaton Village Placerville. Me and my whole family are thankful for the love and care she experienced during her stay. The facilities are great, all the staffs are accommodating and competent with their work. My grandmother was picky with foods but she has always loved and gave praises to the selection of food. Most of all, the various activities kept all the residents happy - bingo, painting, crossword and a lot more. They keep the residents healthy with their exercise activities too. I have attended the Luau party and my grandmother enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend Eskaton Village Placerville! All residents are taken cared of with a smile. read more

My friend Mary invited me for lunch at Eskaton Placerville where she lives. Mary said she loves the facility and the staff are very friendly and helpful. When I arrived at the Reception desk, I was greeted by a staff member and I told them I was visiting my friend Mary. The staff made me feel welcome. The facility was clean and the residents seem to be happy. The staff was warm and very accommodating to our request. I noticed they pay a lot of attention to the residents. All of the staff we met were so kind and welcoming, and helped me feel at ease with some difficult decisions we are trying to make. Our mother has been a resident at Eskaton Village Placerville for 7 years, mostly in Memroy Village. It is difficult having a loved one with Alzheimer's, but everyone at EVP has made it the best possible experience. It's a really nice place to visit: EVP has beautifully decorated, comfortable and inviting spaces and it is always clean. The RCAs are respectful and caring, as is the rest of the staff. If medical care is needed, the staff is great working with us and doctors. There is plenty of activity for those up for it. We are happy to have our mother live here. read more

Eskaton Placerville is a beautiful campus with fantastic views. It's located on a private hill and has 24/7 campus patrol. The food is SO GOOD! If we don't like what is on the menu for the day there are a lot of alternatives to choose from. Staff is very polite and helpful. My mother is a homeowner in this community. The HOAs are outrageous and continually go up. Currently due to COVID, some of the amenities such as pool, gym, activities and classes have been suspended, however, the homeowners are still expected to pay the exorbitant fees. This seems to be taking advantage of the elderly and I hope someone slaps them with a lawsuit. read more

We as a family felt confident in my grandmothers care, and we were very sad when we had to decide to move her elsewhere. I enjoy my job and my residents. My mom's landscape was allowed to decline. Anyone looking to buy a home here should look at the yards and Common Areas at the end of Diggings Court and Ridge Court, and ask for an explanation. I have paid over $500 for plants to replace dead or dying plants and her yard still looks bad. I am seriously considering filing suit against the HOA in Small Claims Court, because my mom has been paying quite a lot for landscape "maintenance and repair". read more

My Great Aunt was a resident of Eskaton for 2 years before she passed away. Because of how well she was cared for I have been a volunteer in the Memory Care Unit for the past 2 years....I volunteer under the activity Assistant and assist her with activities...The residents participate in activities such as walking, chair yoga..among other activities.....We also engage them in crossword puzzles and trivia to stimulate their minds and believe me, they do better at these activities than I do!!!!...there is weekly live music performed by singers, piano players, etc...and the residents love it...they sing along and are so happy and joyous to participate.....I am so impressed how the staff treat the residents like family and are so attentive and compassionate....I feel so grateful that I can spend time with these residents..and be a positive part of their lives.... read more

In my personal opinion, Eskaton Placerville has a great hard-working staff aside from management and administration.. Most workers complain of being overworked and barely paid minimum wage, it seems they have a new staff every month, A very money hungry company they will do anything to get your money.. read more
