We are talking about Florida, God's waiting room. In any event, not the case. Dr's here run the routine annuals, review your meds and really don't seem to prescribe supplements. Yes, SUPPLEMENTS! If I recall correctly, Dr. Burke would order over 90 individual blood tests each year, track your progress and help you identify how to fix your results, naturally. Functional medicine. I had never heard of it prior to Dr. Burke and, apparently, it's still unheard of in SW Florida. If you are lucky enough to get to be her patient then you can look forward to being in good hands. I may move back to our home in California permanently just to be her patient. (If I can get in.) She is a treasure.

I'm hungry and thirsty because you can't eat or drink 8 hours before your procedure. I got here on time, but of course they are behind schedule saying some people came in out of sequence. What does that mean? Sigh. I appreciate being taken in on time and not made to sit around getting nervous. I still give this place, the nurses and the doctors high ratings, but I'm upset when they can't keep at least close to the schedule. It's not fair, it sucks, and this shouldn't happen. But, after I was taken in having waited and hour and 15 minutes, they explained how sometimes these things get thrown off due to complications etc. I want to thank the nurses and staff there for being awesome. Great place overall When I was brought in for my procedure I had really only waited about 1 1/4 hour. The nurse asked me how I was and I said, "Angry, I was told to be here at 1:15 for a 1:30 procedure, and I've been sitting here steaming I suppose, but now that you are taking me I'm over it." Lol, why do I do that to myself jeez! She apologized and explained how sometimes surgeries go longer than expected, and that this morning one surgery went an hour over. I too apologized and said I totally understood. Anyway, they are great in there and everything went perfect. Doctor Jarka is awesome, and I really appreciate his help. Keep it up El Dorado Surgery!

Since then, errors have been made on my long term medications, but worst of all, their phone system only works 50% of the time. If you do get through, there is no option to speak to anybody. They have acknowledged their phone system is wonky but it's been a year and it hasn't been fixed. I'd hate to give up the people who know me and who have cared for me for twenty years but this is becoming untenable. If a medical practice won't answer phones I'm not sure what use they can be to patients. They have a messaging system but they require three working days for a response. One week ago I took my son in for a new patient visit as our insurance changed and we couldn't keep…read morethe primary care doctor we had. My son suffers from a neuropsychiatric disorder associated with the auto immune diseases Lyme and PANDAS. It has been debilitating for 7 years for him. He had an episode in the waiting room, and after waiting nearly 20 minutes after our appointment was scheduled, we were told the doctor would not see my son. Only when pressed were we told that the doctor refused to see him because of the episode that they "saw" in the waiting room. We never received a follow up phone call to check to see how either of us were doing. When I went in today to pick up the hard copy of his paperwork they had it in a pile to shred (having put non of it in the computer). I thought part and parcel to their profession, doctors were to have compassion and concern for people. This one is obviously not one. It saddens me greatly. I will tell everyone I can to avoid this "Doctor" Unfortunately there are far too many doctors who is still do not believe that Lyme or PANDAS exist. If he is one of them all the more reason I need to do more homework before I make a new patient visit for my son again. And if he does believe they exist, then he is far worse than my experience has shown. The fact that he didn't even try to find out what caused the episode is despicable.
