Excellent quick painless. I was a walk in. Full waiting room. Walked out an hour later.

This is my second time at this location. Front desk staff are professional and efficient. There are two check-in clipboards: one for appointments and other for walk-ins. This visit was to endure a painstaking 4 hour glucose tolerance test. Basically consists of chugging one bottle of glucose liquid and 5 individual blood draws each hour. Fun times? Trust me, this is a zero fun, zero pleasure, zero star procedure. However my five stars is really reserved for the people at this lab. Most notably, the best blood extractor in the business, Bridget. She was kind, patient, professional, and sensitive to those that are especially sensitive to needles. She did 4 of my 5 blood tests and proactively notified the next staff member my current status and special considerations. Will use this branch again, definitely will request Bridget to handle all my vein locating needs if she is available. read more

5 stars for phlebotomist Hida, 0 stars for front office. I was very disappointed with the service I received with the front desk staff. I walked in and the woman sitting there, (I believe her name was Hao) did not acknowledge me whatsoever. I said Hi and she continued to stare at her computer. I assumed I was to write my name on the clipboard, which I did and then sat down. She then asked for my insurance information and asked if I had an appointment, which I did but seemed annoyed that I wrote my name on the "walk in" sheet instead of the "appointment" sheet, although there was no direction. After she took my information she asked if I had visited before, and when I told her it was my first time she again seemed even more irritated. Once I was asked to verify my name by the phlebotomist Hina, (who is amazing) I realized a part of my last name was missing. She had to ask the front desk to change it before proceeding and I could overhear Hao arguing that she did it correctly and it was in fact my middle name that was left off.... I think I know what is my last name and what is my middle name! All together Hina made the experience painless and found my tiny vein no problem, she is great! But the lack of customer service that occurred in the front office was unacceptable. Oh and MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! read more

Receptionist is so nice, however, I had very bad experience here. Last year, I came two days to complete my blood test because HE can not find my vessel. This year, SHE did her job after 3 try. I feel so pain....... But one week ago I went Woodbury urgent care, how come that girl had no difficulty to find my vessel. read more

I have been to both of the Quest Labs on Barranca. The reviewers who said this location was dirty are partially correct. I saw grime in the corners of the floors in the draw area, which grossed me out and I immediately thought their cleaning service was not doing a good job. However the rest of the place was clean enough. Couple of pointers to first timers about the quirks of this location. (1) The entrance is on the south side of the building, outside, to the right of the lobby doors, and there is a sign that directs you. (2) the draws are done in the back at a partitioned "bar" setup. It's kind of weird at first. They direct you to sit at one of the bar stools and wait for a tech. (3) This location is busier than the other one up the street. Get there early. The lab actually opens at 7 even though their website says 8. I heard several people mention that to the staff when they checked in. As far as the actual blood work, the tech who did my blood draw was a Filipino woman who not only did an excellent job, she made it quick, and I had no bruise at all. read more

Today 11/4 We get there b4 they open , there are a lot people, after over hour wait , go there to ask front desk to check status, only been told that he has been calling us, but only he announce wrong both first name and last name, told us we need re sign in after all that wait. Wish I had read the reviews first. Had to go here because it's "in plan". I show up at 1030 one person in waiting room nobody at desk. A woman walks up and before I can ask she says we are going to lunch let me see what you got. Nope can't do that right now nope can't do that. Is this the only day you can do it?. Who cares right it's only our health and lives these lab draws are for. Plan a different place. It's obvious by these reviews as well as my own experience, that your health and your needs are last on their priority list. read more

Not one particular ALL Quest - NIGHTMARE. Need to find different lab to use. It's always something. They cut back on the people that work there. Their poor employees, it's like working in a sweat shop in China. There are 100 people waiting and they have 2 people drawing. Employee's are so rushed to help customers, that's when mistakes are made. Not a good working environment. Usually nice people that work there. Although one guy jabbed me so hard with the needle, it hurt so bad and then I was black and blue. They are usually gentle. My husband had to go on a Saturday, the lady on the phone told him 2 wrong places to go to, they were not open. She gave him the wrong address numbers too. When he finally got to one that was open on a Sat. there were 20 people already in line. Their online hours are not up-to-date. Yes, if you have to go there be sure to have an appointment or you will wait FOREVER. HOURS. They should list the hours OUTSIDE the building so you can drive by and check. read more

I wish I could give less than one star. When you enter, they have you sign a form, saying you are responsible for $75.00. Then, they billed us $3,000.00 for tests we can get anywhere for less than $300.00. From working in this industry previously, I know 'kickbacks' are common. I make no allegations; but, am at a loss to explain the price difference otherwise. One of the first signs your physician is on your side, may be that they do not use Quest. Quest Diagnostics grossly overcharges for their blood tests! I highly recommend that you ask them for a written list of their charges before you use them. I had a routine blood test and they billed me for $369.81. I later found out that I could have gotten the same test for much less money using other labs. I also found their billing department to be totally unhelpful in resolving this matter. In short, price shop before you consider using Quest. read more

This place is a joke! So I work in Irvine and live an hour from irvine sometimes almost 2hrs if traffic is bad. So I have to do a drug test (urine not blood) for a pre employment check, so I call to make an appt and ask how long it will take so I can possibly do it on my lunch, the phone is ALL automated! It's impossible to speak to an actual human being. There are no appointments until 6 days later and I need to get this done within 72 hrs of accepting the job offer. I go on my lunch thinking it might be quick, but the room was completely packed, she said an hr or more. So I left, then I came back after work....I leave work like 15min early I get to this place at like 2:50 and there are 2 people in the waiting room then five min later all these people from another lab say the other lab had an emergency and that they said they would honor their appt, which kinda screws the people who've been waiting but whatever that wasn't that big of a deal. An hr later this young Mexican girl with glasses calls me up and asks for my paper and I had forgot it in the car but had the email that the company sent, I asked if I could email it to her and she's just said no with a really harsh attitude so I went downstairs to my car, brought it back up and there was another girl at reception, she has just walked in to help out. She called me up, I gave her the paper and she said oh we stop doing drug screenings at 3!! It was now 4! I had gotten there just in time that they could've done it and I'd be out in a jiffy but that didn't happen! Why? Because the only sign they have is a sign that says "please notify us if you are taking a glucose test or other timed test" how the hell am I supposed to know that drug tests are "timed"? So on top of wasting my money because I left work early, they wasted my time, sitting there for a damn hr and also for having to sit in 4 o clock traffic because I still had to drive home!! SKIP THIS LOCATION! They are rude and careless! read more

To be clear I would like to give 5 stars for the phlebotomist who drew my blood, she was nice, quick and gentle. One of the best draws I have ever done which was surprising because I have been here before and it was not as pain-free before. My 3 stars is for the staff as their customer service is very poor. The way they speak to people is flat out rude and demeaning. Maybe they were having a bad day but I would never treat customers that way. If you don't like your job and it's clearly visible then maybe you should find a different job. So 5 stars for the technician and 3 stars for the staff. read more

Naquita is quite rude and try's to get away with it by saying I ask the same questions all day. Well that's not an excuse to be rude. It's not what you say but how you say it! She was not friendly at all while waiting I heard her be rude to two other customers going as far to tell one man to calm down when he was absolutely fine. After waiting 30 mins they called me back up and said they didn't take my insurance which was fine since I wanted to go to another facility anyway. As it turns out I went online to my insurance Cigna and found that they do take my insurance but I had the wrong card on me but I was still more than happy to go somewhere else. After I asked for her name she seemed to get a bit nicer or maybe she took delight in saying they didn't accept my insurance who knows, but she was unprofessional and totally represented that location in the worst way possible I will definitely not return there even with the correct insurance card. I went for an appt. today at Quest in Irvine, CA and even though I had an appt. time, I had to wait almost 20 minutes for service. When I did go in for my blood draw....I was presented with their form itemizing my charges and if I went ahead with the blood draw.....I could be responsible for almost 600$ in charges. I am fully insured and there is no way I should be responsible for any charges as all are related to a surgery that is scheduled in 3 weeks. I would like to praise my attendant, Tracy, as she was kind and patient with me ( I'm 76) She asked the supervisor to come in and validate what I was presented.... The supervisor was abrupt and curt and said basically check here if you want this draw or check here to deny it. And no information was given to me as to what I should do now. The only person that seemed concerned, other than me, was Tracy and she suggested I go back to my Dr. and have them check and see what needed to be done at Quest to honor the order. I did just that and the Dr. did call Quest and did what they were asked....which was more codes added...but the Dr. office said "NEVER" have they had to do this before and they only use Quest. Being 76, I don't think as fast as the young, and I just sat there thinking what should I do to fix this problem. I have to have this surgery and I have to have these tests... The supervisor was absolutely no help...when she certainly could have been. Without the thoughtful suggestion from Tracy.....I wouldn't have been able to fix this as easily as it was fixed. Finally it is was only 9:30 in the morning...when everyone is fresh...not 4:00 in the afternoon. read more

This place is horrible the receptionist is probably the rudest employee I have ever seen in my life and is not helpful at all. Did not know that I had to sign in on the iPad so i stood in front of her for 20 minutes and she completely ignored me, She didn't say hello or how can I help you or anything, She could've said oh go sign in on the iPad but she literally just let me stand there. I finally got tired and asked her what I should do and she said ummmm sign in on the iPad??? Then I asked very nicely if I could be paired with someone who is experienced because my veins are invisible and she said EVERYONE HERE IS GOOD MAM! With such a rude tone. I waited an hour and a half then i asked her if I was still on the wait because I stepped outside for 5 minutes to take a phone call. She told me that they already called my name and that I missed it but they'll call me again. I waited another hour after that and checked in with her again because I thought since they already called my name once they would put me in the front but no!! about 6 people went in and left keep in mind they all were people who came after me. I decided to check in with her again and she said that I'm the second person to be seen. I kept waiting and another 4 people went in and I was still sitting there and at that point I was waiting for 2 hours and a half. I called my older sister and she came and told me to just get my paper work and leave. When I wanted to get my paper work the receptionist was not in the front desk and we had to wait another 10 minutes just for her to come. She came and did not acknowledge me or my sister standing right in front of her and just looked at us without saying anything. My sister asked her for my paper work back and her name so we could file a complaint. She refused to give us her name and started raising her voice and said I'm not giving you my name mam, so we just left. Absolutely horrible! The receptionist deserves to get fired! Even DMV employees are 10000 nicer than her and better attitude than her! Absolutely disgusting! read more

We had our regular anual check ups in here. The customer service is TERRIBLE the person at the front desk was multitasking and she was in a bad mood, she's not helpful at all and gets a great at patients. My kid and I had appointments and were seen somehow fast. For some reason my husband had his appointment at their other location in 4050 on Barranca, same labs, we didn't realize this until we were at this location. So the front desk lady didn't want to take the appointment in here and decided to sign him as a walk in. The waiting time was excessive and what originally was a 30-40 minutes became more than an 1:30. Everything was worse when his name disappear from the screen where they display the patient names and the waiting time. My husband went to ask the desk lady and she bluntly dismissed him 5 times telling him "give me 1 minute and have a seat" then more time was passing by and when he asked again the lady said that she had lost his paper form. Oh well...about other 15-20 minutes passed by and when he asked again they said that since he wanted his paper back they removed him from the waiting list. Wait....what?! The front desk lady didn't even offer a fair explanation of anything and sent one of the technicians to deal with the problem. We ended up leaving after almost 2 hours waiting without his blood work done. Almost all the staff would give you attitude. They aren't professional on how they handle the paperwork and on how they do not give you a reasonable explanation regarding the waiting time. The lab wasn't even full they weren't more than 10-15 people there. The front desk lady, is not helpful in any mean and she gets mad for every si for question you ask her. The way how they moved out his form from the queue line without even telling him was completely unacceptable. Corporate should really look into training their staff or maybe even hiring new staff. The only reason that we use this lab is because of our insurance, we used to go to LabCorp for a few years and we NEVER had a problem with them. This is our second time using Quest and the first time I went to a different location where I also encountered with a badly trained staff and that time even with my appointment I had to waited for almost an hour. I was told at 1:35that the person doing my drug test would be there at 2. While I was waiting, I kept being told that they don't know where she is, she might be in the car, and that they've tried texting her. She walks in almost 30mins later on the phone. When I ask what was going on to the person in the front. The woman walks out asking the person in the front, "what are they saying" and tries giving an excuse. 10 mins later, I'm still waiting. She tried saying she was on her lunch but I saw her enter their break room way before 2pm (at about 1:40), so she either she lied or took a very long lunch. Maybe the other labs are better but avoid this one. And I'm actually worried they're going to do something to my test. She didn't show me all the steps and had the opportunity to alter it, unlike the 5 other times I've had a drug screen done. They've explained exactly what they were doing and showed me what they were doing. Not this place though. It was almost like she purposely blocked my view of what she was doing. Super unprofessional, so extremely rude. I'm going to try to complain even more to the company, because my experience here was that awful. Honestly. Avoid. I should have listened to the other reviews. You will leave pissed off. They should all be fired. read more

Walked in at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. No appointment. I was there for a blood test. I was met at the front desk by very pleasant woman. I asked how long was the wait. She said 10-15 minutes. I brought some work with me and started working. Within about 8 minutes they called me. I went back and met with Hani - incredibly nice woman. We talked and laughed, and within four minutes all paperwork was completed, blood taken, and I was out of there. I cannot recommend this place more highly. read more

The lab technicians are good but the customer service is terrible. You will NEVER get someone to answer the phone. If they make a mistake in the coding of a procedure and then your insurance will not pay it, GOOD LUCK!!! They will do Nothing to correct it. read more

I've been to this lab twice and my experience was similar both times. The waiting room is full of people waiting, but have no idea when they will be called. The front desk is small, yet there are too many people crammed behind it. Their check in system is disorderly. Their policies are not clear, and often people coming in don't know what is expected of them (e.g., whether they need to show their insurance card, whether the bill will be sent directly to the doctor or the insurance company, whether or not they were supposed to eat before the test, etc.) Today, a woman arrived with her two young children, presented her paperwork and insurance, and at that time she was told she would have to submit a test and stay for three hours without leaving in order to submit again. When the woman expressed her concern in having her children there that long, she was told by another employee that it would only be a two hour wait. In my experience, it's a long randomized wait amongst a bunch of people who are just hoping their name is drawn out of a hat. read more

Had an appointment at 1:15pm and was on my lunch break which I had to get back to work at 1:30. Scheduling an appointment thinking it will be faster but I was wrong! I was waiting in the back a long with other people for 35 mins! Office seems very busy and under staff. Only one phlebotomist in the back drawing blood and taking her sweet time chit chatting and finally another phlebotomist came over and started working one me, which only took like almost 2 mins! I returned to work late and I will think twice coming here again and making and appointment! Mind that I never complain about Quest Diagnotics until today at this location. read more

Advise your doctors not to use Quest Diagnostics. Their billing department is HORRIBLE! I sent in a payment back in June and they are still sending me monthly invoices because they "can't locate my payment". I have gone as far as to send them bank documents, showing proof that they had indeed cashed my check and the money had been withdrawn. It did not solve the problem, I am still calling asking them to rectify the situation. The only response I get from the customer service representatives is that they will place my account on hold while they try and locate my check. LOCATE THE CHECK THAT YOU ALREADY CASHED?! When I asked to speak with a supervisor she told me the same thing, she would put my account on hold and that was all they could do for me, and that I will keep receiving bills until they find my payment. I asked her if this happens often, she said YES. read more

Only if they have negative stars. this review is of the billing from Quest. We went in for a blood test and it turned out to not be covered by insurance. $2,900 for one blood test. If we Knew it wasn't covered we would shop around because other labs are 30% of the price. Anyway Quest would except a discounted price from my insurance but makes me pay an inflated price. Morally this is wrong. I actually think it should be illegal to charge the person with bad insurance more when their claims are denied. At least they should give you an estimate of the cost before they do the test. You can put this company in the group of evil corporations like pay day advance companies and BP. When you wonder what is wrong with America's heath Care system.... it is Quest Diagnostics. read more
