I spent 30 minutes trying to get someone to answer a phone at ANY Quest office. A telephone call to find a location which may offer a specific test landed me in the rat maze with an obnoxious voice offering numerous options which provided me with additional options except an option to speak to a live person. I hope they soon invent the "live person" at Quest. Customers are not lab animals and this rat is out. Ratatouille read more

What a wonderful location! Came in this morning with my daughter who was very nervous about the blood draw. The lady that checked me in was not helpful and misplaced my paperwork. I waited forever and saw a new person at the front. Her name was Tracy and she was immediately helpful. She found my paperwork and was so gentle and caring with my daughter. She took the time to make sure she felt comfortable. We were so fortunate that she also drew her blood because when my daughter fainted, she was calm, professional, and immediately took action to take care of the situation. Thank you Tracy for making a hard experience so much more pleasant. My daughter only wants to come to this location and with you for any future blood draws! read more

After reading the other 1 star reviews it's clear that this company does not care about the patient experience. There are at least 4 phlebotomists on staff today. However on average they serve one person at a time. It's very clear that they do not want walk-in patients because the wait is ridiculously long. If no one is being served, why can't a person waiting be served in between appointments? It's ridiculous at this point. I'm literally on the waiting list because a "website glitch" caused my appointment to get cancelled and I was already here. Had I known it would take this long I wouldn't have waited. In the last HOUR they have called ZERO people from the wait list when at most there are only 2 people checked in for appointments and again at least FOUR phlebotomists here. What are they doing in between appointments?!!! It seems like they are purposely waiting until the next appointment to serve anyone. At this point, I guess I have to ride it out. Maybe I'll get seen before 2024. read more

Terrible lab and there is no one at the lab or at the register to help you. They have made it automated and self registration by a stupid machine. If you walk-in without a prior appointment, and starting self registration, the stupid machine takes all of your information including your driver's license, insurance information. and the end, the message is that they have no more appointments. A silly process. Save your time and do not go there at all. They are trying "save" money. read more

This is my fourth time coming back and Tracy was the only one able to order my labs accurately! Thank you!

Wow 96 of 164 reviews one star! Whole heartedly agree...make it 97. In the big picture this company puts profits over people and has no accountability. They clearly do not care for the patients' experience. Computer check in only and no one to answer any questions at all. The staff person we encountered (older Caucasian lady with glasses) was outrageously rude and uncompasionate when she came out front to deal with UPS and my daughter dared to ask her a simple question. Apparently treating people with common decency and civility is not a requirement of the job. We arrived at 7 am when they opened, and their appointment board was scheduled for 5 people every 10 minutes. Only two lab workers were coming to call people in about every 10 minutes. By 7:20 they were already falling behind, due to gross over scheduling. We waited for 40 minutes, we not seen and there was no one to answer a simple question regarding an issue with the scheduling board. My disabled and chronically ill daughter left without her labs in tears, after her encounter with the verbally abusive woman. In our experience it is a work atmosphere where the staff are over-worked, and they take out their frustrations on the patients with no consequences. read more

Tracy is the best. One poke and no wiggle of the needle. Thank you Soooooo much for being professional and nice

For what it is this is my favorite lab. The Indian gentleman has been there for a while and is always friendly no matter what kind of crowd this place attracts. All the phlebotomists I've had are great with getting access. I have to say for lab draws at any place you choose, always make an appointment, come on time and come hydrated. And maybe you'll have a better experience. read more

Worst experience checking in! They have new system (Was here 4 months ago, not this way). Got here on time, but line was out the door. No separate line for appointment. By the time I get to front of line, and check in on stationed iPad, it states since I am 10 minutes late, I am now considered a walk in. Mind you, that is just check in. Ladies behind counter, which have very short tempers, have not even taken paperwork yet. That comes later. Waited at least ten more minutes for that. read more

If i have to give a 0 review I would do that. One of the phlebotomist in this place is so unprofessional m, has no basic etiquette, pokes you multiple times and there is blood coming out every time she pokes but she can't find a vein. After sitting there quietly letting them do their job she blames you for not helping you. I was not greeted when i sat on that chair she just comes n pokes multiple times, shuts you if you are trying to tell her what helped the last time the blood was drawn by another phlebotomist. And now day 3 i am still in extreme pain on my hand and neck from a failed blood draw. Last I know it shouldn't be this painful. Quest diagnostics in this branch should hire better professional phlebotomist not someone who is rude, can't find your vein and ends up blaming you for no reason whatsoever. I have got my blood drawn in various places n its never been unsuccessful. Ps: The things she could say during my blood draw was: -You are not helping me -How did they give a IV before -You have to drink more water -You are not leaving (when i was done with her rudeness and after getting poked multiple times was trying to get up) These are the words she used when she doesn't even have a basic etiquette to talk to a person, there were not even any patients for her to be so frustrated and impatient This behavior is unacceptable. read more

Bad service long lines not enough people in the back. Company making money but forgot to hire more ppl. Kids are crying, people are frustrated including employees. Everyone rushing that's really concerned me hygiene issues in the back. Hoping they have enough time for clean up the areas cuz people are coming in n out so fast this doesn't look good. Definitely not coming back. I been with Quest so many years but both locations on Barranca Irvine CA disappointed. Both locations front desk people are very rude cuz if they doesn't have enough help it's not our fault. read more

My wait was only 20 minutes which is very reasonable considering how busy they were. The girl who drew my blood, Brenda, was extremely sweet and professional. Plus, there was almost no pain and I didn't even know she drew my blood. I definitely have to give them 5 stars today. However be prepared to wait if you are not on time. read more

1.5 hour wait. I even had to wait after they called my name, the lady had like 4 other patients. Would rather die than do that again. Blood test wasted my day. The top of the company deserves to suffer, I wish they did. The workers are nice here, but Quest diagnostics is trash. They give 39 hours to most employees avoiding overtime and thats what caused my wait today. The employee working told me this. read more

Had an appointment for a blood draw, they were behind... just wonderful! What's the point of making an appointment when they are never on time? Also the lady at the front isn't too cheery. She seems to hate her job. The waiting room is a depressing small space with no drinking fountain for water. Finally when I did go in to get my blood drawn, the lady was incompetent!! She had to stick me with a needle 3 times to get it right! If you can, go somewhere else! read more

This place is a joke. The online wait times are just flat out lies, the front desk lady even admitted it. I've been waiting for almost an hour, two people have been called back. There are 4 more people ahead of me. The wait time online said "10 minutes" for walk ins. They're not accommodating, they're rude when you ask questions... go somewhere else, don't waste your time. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS QUEST! Absolutely terrible. I had Carol as the phlebotomist- she was absolutely terrible! See photo of the bruise I have now had for four days since I got the bloodwork done. NEVER GOING BACK! BE AWARE! It was a horrifying experience. I just hope my arm regains feeling soon. read more

I'm here for a glucose tolerance test. The front desk receptionist displayed an unacceptable attitude. I asked for the glucose drink and she gave me one from the fridge. I told her I'll get sick and have a stomachache if I drink anything cold (for medical reasons), and she became very impatient and kept telling me the drink will taste bad and I can't drink water even if I don't feel well after wards. And she stressed that I have to finish the drink in 5 minutes. (Having done this glucose testing before, I know I have more than 5 minutes to do it.) In fact, the room temperature ones are just stored in the cabinets above her head. I couldn't understand why people have such bad attitudes working in medical service industry when they are facing patients with some kind of sickness everyday. Com'on, people are coming in to have needles poked and blood drawn! I wouldn't say that's a pleasant experience in the beginning. Why can't they just make this a whole better experience by showing a little respect? Why can't they just appreciate having a healthy body while maintaining a positive and professional attitude toward the patients? read more

This is the worst experience ever!! What shows up on the tv screen as to the time you will wait and that does NOT match up at all with the actual time it takes to get in. When I arrived (a walk in at a slower time 12:00) it said 15 minutes. I have been here 1.5 hours. Staff comes and goes and not allowed to work more than 5 hours.... etc. If short handed why not approve for one to stay later???? Still waiting!!!!! Corporate just does not get it. This has been discussed by many. Very disappointing and disrespectful of everyone's time!! Don't say 15 min. And been fasting and now going on 2 hours!!! Are you kidding me? read more

Excellent service. I didn't have an appointment and I was still in and out within an hour. This place is so fucking stupid and careless. My lab results are still hasn't been send to my doctor and it has been 2 weeks since they drawn my blood... and you can't speak with anyone on the number that has been provided. Do I don't know who To contact. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL LAB. read more

I have never experienced such horrible service!!! The front office woman had an awful attitude. As I walked-in there was two list to sign in, one for the walk in and one with appointment. I also notice that there was a total of 2 people waiting, which one of them was called. I was the next person on the list, then I noticed that lots of people walked in with out appointment, well all the walking people with out appointment who arrived after us was called before us. When I told the woman in the front desk, she gave me all the excuses as possible, but she could not explain why all the walking patience who came after us was seeing before us. I notice also she treats some people better then others. We went there twice and we waited for over 1 hr, we left with out being called. We are in a bad economy, there are lots of people who can do a much better job yet they can't find a job. read more

Ouch! That really hurt. One of the less gentle Quests we've been to. My wife and I went and both of ours hurt more than normal - from two different phlebotomists. read more

Service is really bad, the attitude in the front desk of the blond lady and specially the indian guy, is that no matter what happen they are always "right and too busy!" I had a small issue cause they called, even spelled my last name and I didn't answer so they passed me, they were too lazy to try to call me by my name YOLIXTLY...hard to ignore and to pronounce.. anyways that was my bad to put my name and my last name inicials only... I didn't fight about it because previously they already argued with an other patience because of a FAX issue and I was not losing my time with these people. Suggestion if you end up here because of your doctor: - Ask your doctor to send you somewhere else - If no choice, make sure to have all your documents/prescription in order so you don't lose time. - Expect no politeness from them. - Be ready to spend some time waiting your turn - Don't attempt to fight them, save yourself a bad moment. About the service, my GOD!! I am used to weekly blood tests but if you are scared of needles or bring kids, don't even come here! The lady was rough and it did hurt, they have no sense of patience here... read more

I am aware that I didn't have an appointment so I knew I was going to wait, I was fasting so and I wouldn't have time any other day so I decided to wait. They girl told me about 1 hour or to make appointment, so I chose to wait. 1 hour 25 minutes later I go inside to ask and I see my name says 2 minutes, while I'm waiting for her to help me it bumps to 5 minutes and I ask her, how much longer I've been waiting for 1 hour and 25 min and she's says that every 15 minutes there are appointments and that keeps bumping me, she tells me there are 3 people ahead of me, so I ask her if more people keep coming to their time will they keep bumping me? And I'm not very happy at this point but I'm keeping my cool and she answers with a snooty attitude "appointments patients have priority", I really wanted to say something. But I just left. You need to tell people that up front, "THAT THEY WILL BE BUMPED EVERY TIME AN APPOINTMENT COMES IN", plain and simple. I have been to other Quests without appointments and that has never happened. Needless to say I left and I made an appointment at a different center. And yes I know I didn't have an appointment but be clear about the expectations. I tried making appointment but you didn't have any and I didn't want to have to come another day. read more

Went for a drug test for a new job. They said they didn't do it at that time and sent me to Laguna Hills 22 miles away. Get there and they have no affiliation with Quest nor do they do the test. Great Experience, and Tracy is THE BEST ! I used to go to another Quest location nearby (also located on Barranca) to get my blood work done, and my experience hasn't always been so satisfactory. Somehow I have some rather tiny veins that are hidden quite deep underneath my skin, so it typically costs me a long time as well as a lot of anxiety to have my blood drawn out in sufficient amounts needed for the labs, adding to the fact that the staff at that location is not experienced enough to competently deal with tough cases like this. I'm so glad that I finally came to the right place - this location is simply amazing! Not only are there very few patients and thus a minimal wait time, but the quality and efficiency of customer service here are just beyond description. The staff here upholds professional standards to the highest level by treating patients with so much care, respect, and attention. I had Tracy to do my blood work and she is THE BEST!! I almost anticipated my visit to last for some 20 to 30 minutes owing to the difficulty I experienced getting my tests done at another Quest location in the past. But all these negative feelings/anticipations were completely gone this time because of Tracy's remarkable expertise and the efficiency and precision with which she performed the work. She was able to accurately locate my veins upon first feeling my arms, and after seeing my uneasiness with my past experience, reassured me that things will all go very smoothly this time, as they really did ! The whole process of her confirming my information, preparing for the lab, and finally drawing the blood from my arm took less than 5 minutes. What an exceptional experience, and I just can't thank Tracy enough for the wonderful job she did! If you are also experiencing any pain or difficulty with your blood tests, I strongly recommend coming to this location as Tracy is sure to make it a fast, smooth, and painless experience for you!!! read more

Very courteous and kind ladies working today . I would recommend this lab over the West Pacific Lab any day.

If you used Google to find this place, please note that the office is within the medical building (suite 120). The staff is professional and one of the phlebotomist my clients had the pleasure of meeting was very courteous and understanding of their nervousness. She asked them what level she wanted their pain to be on a scale of 1 to 5, and of course both of them chose 1. Surprisingly, when she pricked them, both of them said it barely hurt. Unfortunately, not everyone is as nice as the kind phlebotomist. I returned to this location just a couple hours later the same day and apparently some type of office brawl occurred during lunch hour because everyone seemed to be in a sour mood. The receptionist was very dry and acted as though he couldn't help me with the proper documentation I needed for work. The secondary phlebotomist was also very dry and did not help my client to calm down or relax AT ALL. He seemed to be in a rush and told my 7 year old client "So I can poke you once or twice. Once if you don't move around a lot or scream, but ill have to do it twice if you don't. Your choice dude." I was shocked. I'm not sure if I'll be returning to this location or not. read more

The two employees the day I came in were extremely friendly, greeting patients when they came in and helpful. (Somewhat surprising given the typical rudeness of healthcare related staff. I made an appointment and was called up immediately but wouldn't even had to make one here, it's always very slow which is good for us! The one concern I had was with the record keeping. I am in their system as I come in often. My last name recently changed which I alerted them to. The employees had to regenerate a whole new account for me instead of just changing the name in the system. It seemed redundant, time consuming and could cause issues with my insurance. Otherwise Julian who did the bloodwork was very friendly. read more
