I don't typically leave reviews for labs lol but this was necessary. Typically if nothing bad happens it's good enough. This time I was blown away by all the good. I saw a waiting room with a number of folks and immediately regretted not having my headphones. Yet within a few minutes of checking in they called me. I was surprised by how fast it was. Do note I did make an appointment but typically would still need to wait esp if the waiting area has some folks. Hayleigh was the best nurse ever. I had many vials and she was able to swap them without ever moving the needle. We all know that click in click out is uncomfortable af. I also had minimal bleeding after she removed the needle (I tend to bleed after always). She's the best! I wish all nurses were like her! read more

Came in today at 3:30, with note from Dr's office for bld test, that needed to be urgently drawn. Due to histamine reaction. I was told no ! You need a appt, I told them that I had a note and it said, please call drs office if they have any questions. They insisted no they would not call , I could call myself, I was in disbelief that they would disregard a Dr's note . I got a hold of my Dr's office his nurse gave them a verbal that I needed to be drawn right away . I was told to drive to Placerville during my reaction if I needed to get my blood drawn . They claimed they got their supervisor on the phone to tell me this. ( I later found that the supervisor was on Vacation ) I told her I was dizzy, lightheaded and couldn't drive. I told her my MD wrote a note plus she talked to his nurse to verify. They said we have a lot people with appts , that I could go to hospital . I told them with all my documentation plus a verbal they needed to draw my bld. I asked them for there fax number so the MD could fax over another documentation saying it was stat. The employee told me she did not know the fax number. She refused to get me any numbers . I was not able to identify her because she took her name badge and turned it backwards so her face and name was not able to be obtained. She said wait in waiting room we will draw you when we can. I did follow up with a filed complaint with the district manager who was extremely helpful as well as apologetic . They will be looking into the matter which is very reassuring as the lab documents were very clear . Please voice your opinion to the District manager not the supervisor it falls on deaf ears . I hope this location goes back to how it was ran several years ago . read more

I was a walk in this AM, as they had no morning Appts for over a week. Arrived at 6:30, even though I knew they opened at 7:00, and was second in line. I waited 2 1/2 hours and finally called my primary care doc to have her send over lab order to Sutter on E. Bidwell. I am here now...and expect to be called back within a few minutes. There is actually a person to greet patients and check you in. Very clean...professional, and my new facility for all future lab work. They are also open Saturdays. Though there was one very nice gal at Quest, the overall vibe was not nice, kiosk check in, and not exactly clean. Will not go back. read more

What a S$!those of a place. So unorganized. Appointments or not they just call whoever. Came in early and watching staff come in at all odd times. Whose shift starts at 8:05am? Then they call people that are checked in at 10:10 at 8:30 for services. Plus everyone looks like they hate their jobs. Zero sense of urgency here. The screen says 24 appointments in the next 60min. Scheduled an appointment through their app. Appointment was on a Saturday. Turns out they're not open Saturdays. I showed up early to my appointment (that required me to be fasting for 12 hours) only to be met with the lights off & doors locked. Not sure why they would let me schedule it then & why nobody at their office called to reschedule it, being they knew about it for over a month prior to the appointment date. Over the years, I have visited Quest's Creekside location several times. The actual location and waiting room are quite underwhelming, with poor lighting. Perhaps the building or Quest management have refreshed the waiting room since my last visit. If not, one could get rather depressed waiting to be seen. In the meantime, I have been going to the Quest Prairie City ("PC") location for a weekly blood draw for the past eight months. The PC location is convenient (from Rt 50) with plenty of parking, and the phlebotomists are upbeat, kind, professional, and efficient. Lastly, whether it be the Creekside or PC location, you "must" make an appointment otherwise, you might find yourself waiting for hours waiting to be seen. Hope this helps. read more

The big dude on staff is really kinda terrible. I had an appointment this morning. They have a screen on the wall where a person can see where they are in the lineup. I noticed my name had gone missing I was supposed to get a txt when it was my turn. No such txt came. The big fella on staff emerged from behind a door. I asked him what happened; he just kinda shrugged said they called my name twice (an hour past my appointment time) and would try to fit me in sometime later. I pointed out no one heard my name called and I had received no txt. He shrugged called someone else's name, escorted to them the back and closed the door behind him. I was about halfway through writing this review when a very sweet young woman came out called my name and escorted me back. She was so gentle and nice I barely even felt the poke. She had to draw 8-9 vials and kept checking in with me to make sure I was still ok.. She is really the saving grace of this place. When we were done and I went back out to the waiting area where my husband was waiting for me to be finished. My husband told me he watched the big guy do the exact same thing to 2 other people that he did to me. Only the other people were actually sitting in the waiting room the entire time . I dislike getting my blood drawn and I didn't have my new insurance card. However, I told Tara (my phlebotomist) what was going on. She was kind and understanding. I got my insurance information and she was able to update my file with Quest. Also it was cool to see how the staff here interacted with patients and each other. They were all in a good mood and greet everyone. You could also tell they work well with each other. Good experience here today! read more

DON'T EVER GO HERE! There is a man that works there that is absolutely unfit to work in the medical field in any capacity! I will own that I didn't arrive the 10 minutes earlier than my appt and had a little difficulty checking in at the machine however he was clearly very angry. My appt was 11:40 and I ended up actually being taken in 11:46. He was rude, hostile and aggressive. I asked him why he was being so combative and he said "you said out there that you were grumpy" which I did but was joking because of the issue I was having Checking in. I asked him to leave and get somebody else to draw my blood. There was no way I was going to let him do it. FYI my daughter went for bloodwork there 4 years ago and ended up leaving crying too! For yours and your loved ones sake choose ANY OTHER location. The other employees were very nice, but one rotten apple spoils the whole bunch. First time at 1600 creekside location. very smooth in and out. lab technician were nice and communicating with the patient to make sure if they are walk in then it will take some time. nothing wrong in telling them ahead of time that they will have to wait, because Lab people have to take care of the appointments first. read more

I had billing problem with them before but I think the whole management has problem now. I went for my physical blood test there two weeks ago and still didn't get my results. Roxane at the Folsom Quest Disgnostics on Creekside was such a gift. I walked in with lab orders that were going to cost me a fortune- to the point I had to leave without getting my blood drawn. She took the time to show me how to pay for certain packages that would save me money and still give the Doctor what they need. she even printed up the instructions and told me exactly what to do. She also encouraged me to ask some clarifying questions of my doctor and reassured me how I could come back the next day and still get results in time for upcoming medical treatments. I was stressed and not in a good space and now I'm in and out with bloodwork done - and results heading to me and my doctor thanks to her adjustment of my account. thank you Roxane!!! read more

DO NOT go here. GO UPSTAIRS TO LABCORP!!! At Quest I couldn't even schedule an appointment for 4 days... so I waited for my appointment (9:40am) 4 days after it was ordered. I Fasted and left work, I arrived for my 9:40 appointment at 9:46 and was REFUSED TO BE SEEN. This was because I waited behind 4 people to check in at a KIOSK (not even a real person!) and by the time I got to it at 9:51, I was considered too late. They told me that I could sit and wait as a walk in, but that it would take hours at minimum, and that it was pointless because I likely would not be seen AT ALL that day. I understand I was late... but by SIX MINUTES! How is this considered healthCARE?! LABCORP was able to take me without an appointment almost right away! read more

Nothing negative at all to say about the phlebotomists here, they're efficient, they're good sticks, and they listen to any concerns you may have...once you can make it behind the locked doors. On the waiting room side though, it's a totally different experience. They seriously need to go back to having somebody at a desk that can answer patient questions. Currently they have a shower curtain or something blocking the window and you're just stuck in a blank waiting space with no one to ask questions. I was in the waiting room just this morning with several people who did not speak English well and needed to talk to somebody on the staff, but they're unable to because everybody is behind lock doors that only open for a few seconds at a time. Also, my fault, I was late to my appointment and went on the stand by list along with another gentleman who needed to get to work by 9:30. We had both been on standby for over an hour at this point (their check-in screen says average is 30-60 with no guarantees). We were finally able to ask a staff member if they could give us an estimate, and all she did was parrot their "policy". I've had better customer care at a Battalion aid station when I was a PFC than I received here today. This location used to provide excellent customer service and prompt attention, but has truly gone downhill. I will not be going back to this location. read more

I politely asked if they could look up to see if I had a lab request from my doctor and if it had arrived, so that I wouldn't have to wait an hour for a blood draw that I wouldn't be able to have (if the lab hadn't arrived). They refused. They made me wait in the lobby for an appointment even though they knew I might not need one, instead of giving me an answer and both of the ladies were incredibly rude. My recent Quest Diagnostics experience: Early May- I go to Quest's website and sign up for an appointment for Covid-19 antibody testing due to severe cough in February that lasted more than a month. I am paying out of pocket. I am 4.5 months pregnant, and while Quest says very clearly on their website I don't need an appointment and can come for "VIP care through our new Peace of Mind program" the first hour of each day at "your nearby Quest location", I sign up for an appointment two weeks out anyway, during that first hour, just in case. Nowhere on the website at the time does it ask for my credit card info - I find that odd, but figure I'll pay on site. I get a text to confirm my appointment. I confirm my appointment. May 21 - I arrive at my appointment on time (7:30am), masked and gloved. I follow a very elderly couple inside (the woman can barely walk, has a leg brace, they both wear masks) and stand behind them as they check in. They do not have an appointment. The woman at the front desk (mid length brown hair) reprimands them for this. She says that "starting NEXT Tuesday" you'll need an appointment, which strikes me again as odd, because today is Friday so why should they care about the policy that starts next week? The couple is also clearly older than 60 and we are in the first hour of operation in which case, you know, "Peace of Mind". After making them feel bad, the person checking them in says "we can accommodate you however today". I check in at the kiosk because I DO have an appointment. It's just after 7:30am. I'm called in to the lab about 5 minutes later. The lab tech, who is lovely, cannot find my "order". I explain I don't have a doctor's order, that I signed up for an appointment online and it didn't ask me to pay otherwise I would have. I have my credit card with me to pay. She goes outside to the front desk lady and then comes back. She explains I have to go to a different website and pay in advance. She tells me to go get my cell phone (which I left in the car), sign up/pay, and return. I go to my car and get my phone. This time when I go to the Quest website, it very clearly asks me if I have a doctors referral or if I'm paying out of pocket (this was not the case 2 weeks ago, Quest must have changed their website, good for them I think). I pay and it makes me select a new appointment (it won't let me pay without doing this). So I select the next available time figuring when I go inside they will just delete that new appointment. I go back inside. It's around 7:50ish am (still the first hour of operation and 20 minutes past the appointment I've already checked in for). The woman at the front desk gives me a look like "why are you here". I explain, thinking maybe she forgot me, that I was just here, I have an appointment but I had to register/pay for the test, and now I'm back. She tells me that I have to return at the date/time of my NEW appointment which is in a week. I tell her I don't understand, I HAVE an appointment for that day/morning and have already checked in. She insists I must come back in a week. I say, but I'm pregnant (pointing at my very pregnant belly, second pregnancy, majorly showing) and it's the first hour of the day? Even without the appointment the website said I can come in. She said no, you need an appointment even if pregnant during the first hour. I know this is wrong, but I'm getting flustered and her certainty confuses me. There are only 2 other people in the waiting room. I say "so even if I wait until after these two people, you can't accommodate me?" She looks angrily at a list of names and says (you can wait until 11:15am). I'm not even sure what that list is. Maybe it already has my name on it because I have an appointment? It's not a list of people waiting, because there are only 2 people. I leave. I should have asked for her manager, or pulled up the website and showed her very clearly she was in violation of her own company's guidelines on top of just the guidelines of being an accommodating, reasonable human being. But I leave because I'm afraid I might cry (pregnancy hormones). I've changed my appointment to another location later this week. But the situation really irked me. This is a stressful time for a lot of people, health providers included and I'll give her that. But's its 7:30am in the morning, there are only 2 people in the waiting room, and you treat old people and a pregnant lady with a power trip when in fact they are in accordance of the rules and you are not? Even if I was wrong, mistaken, confused why not be kind and let me wait until you have seen the TWO other people and then see me? read more

Being a frontline worker, I appreciate that I can make a fasting appointment on a day that fits my schedule. Made appointment online. Went to appointment. Checked in on the app. Received a text that the center was ready for me to enter. Once inside only one other inside the awaiting room. Once formalities where taken care of. Never had any issues with this location before. Today however they went above and beyond. After making appointment 2 weeks ago and coming in they looked me up and couldn't find any bloodwork orders. So they called my primary care physicians office and stayed on hold for 10 minutes then spoke with them for a good 5 mins. They let me know I could wait for the doctors office to put in orders but offered me priority appointment once it was done. They also confirmed my doctor would call me when they submitted orders. So I took the card and went home. My doctor called me a couple hours later (glad I didn't wait) and I went right back down as I was still technically fasting. Only drinking black coffee. Went back in and saw same woman at front desk. She remembered me, confirmed the orders were in and got me in within less than 5 mins. In and out and resolved. Now I'm eating lunch. Honestly, I had a wonderful experience! Roxane, my phlebotomist, was FANTASTIC. Super friendly, fast, and accurate. Although I had to have several vials drawn, she made the time fly and did an excellent job. On the way out, another staff member grabbed the door for me and wished me well. I know this Quest location has received bad reviews, but my experience was top notch. Yes, there was a wait because with COVID they are understaffed, but they did a great job at moving quickly. I've had to have bloodwork every 4 months for the past 3 years, I ALWAYS go to this Quest & they've ALWAYS come to the door & called my name. I went this morning for blood work my DR wants done. I checked the website last night to find out what time they open which was 8am. The website said they do walk-in so I should up at 7:10 and waited. It was me and another person waiting. Finally a skinny blond woman shows up and goes in. When she came out she ask at that point the 3 of us if we had appointments myself and the other person that had been there forever said no. The lady then got really rude said that after December something they are only doing appointments. I told her I had been there since 7:10 in which she responds you saw me walk past you. Why would I think to ask if they are doing walk-ins when their website says they are. don't waist your time going to this location. read more

I should read the reviews for this location before I made an appointment to get my blood drawn for my prenatal and genetics screening. This place is horrible, like literally. I mean...how do you mess up on my blood work...twice! TWICE! First time I came here, it was fine...she took my blood...we chit chatted...everything was smooth. I get a call a week later from my doctor saying that they didn't submit my blood work in time and so I had to do it again. Second time I came here (seriously, I should've known better)...the lady took me to the back to get my blood drawn. It literally took an hour! It was probably her first time because she kept asking her co workers if she was doing every...single...step correctly. After she puts all the information in the computer and starts to get all the tubes out, I noticed that she was missing a couple of tubes (I counted how many tubes of blood they took from me last time). When I told her about it she was like...well, it says right here 5 only. Ok... She then proceeds to take my blood. One, she stabs me and it hurts like a muther. And then afterwards she goes, "oops, I didn't get your vein. I'm gonna have someone else draw for me." WHAT?!? How unprofessional is that?!? The second lady who took my blood was alright, her hand was heavy so it was uncomfortable. So, two days later....quest called to say that they didn't take all the blood work needed to finish the test. Are you kidding me?!? I mentioned that to your co worker last time I was there! So, I eventually took my blood work elsewhere. Now, I got a call from my doctor saying it was too late for them to give me the results for my genetics test because of all the mess up that this office did! Horrible, horrible! My experiences with this Quest location have always been positive, so the negative reviews are hard to imagine, but every business has it's down day, and certainly every person has theirs. My visit today for a fasting lab could not have gone more smoothly. Roxanne was delightful, capable and efficient. Katie, who in my view, is highly professional, added personalization and some smiles to what is admittedly a pretty clinical and not always fun experience. I'm a very understanding person, but if I could give 0 stars, I would! I'm sitting in the parking lot writing this because I'm PISSED!!! I came in yesterday (Friday) because my doctor suddenly wanted me to have labs done over the weekend so they could decide my treatment for Monday morning. When I arrived, it was 4:30pm and the waiting room was full! The woman looked at me and, before I could sign in or hand her my slip, she mentioned there was a 45minute wait and 6 people ahead of me.... Gee thanks for making me feel welcomed! I explained my situation and she offered to check my slip and see if they could even do these tests over the weekend. Well 2 she said they couldn't complete but the rest they could. I told her I would wait and she then told me they were open tomorrow (Saturday) and I could come back then if I wanted to avoid the wait. So I reluctantly agreed. Well, it's Saturday. I'm here. But no one else is.... As I'm looking at the front door, the hours say Monday thru Friday ONLY!! That bitch lied to me to get me out of her office!!! I'm SOOOO beyond pissed off right now, and I guess my doctor will be pretty pissed off too come Monday morning! Especially if I end up in the ER over the weekend... Ridiculous!! read more

They definitely could benefit from someone coming in an re-structuring their process of checking in and calling patients back. I told the gal working the front desk that my doctor faxed the lab slip and she asked "they didn't send it electronically? The staff at this lab are phenomenal. They are very patient and understanding with my family member. They are kind and friendly. The only complaint I have is that it takes well over a week to get results, even with dr's request to cc me on these results. My family member has weekly blood draws necessary to confirm his dose is correct. Having to wait so long means med adjustments have to wait. read more

Turns out this location, which their never ending phone tree told me was the next closest place - was "emergency" closed until further notice.
