STAY AWAY! The online booking system is completely broken and has been for weeks!Their website is an absolute joke. Two weeks ago, I tried booking on my phone, but it kept glitching and saying "phone number is required"--even though I filled it out perfectly.Today, two weeks later, the exact same mobile bug is still there. So I switched to my desktop, only to encounter a worse nightmare: after filling out all my info, I selected over 20 different "available" time slots, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I clicked submit, it gave me the error "select a new time for your appointment."Are they seriously not fixing this trash website for weeks? Do they expect everyone to just show up and wait for hours as a walk-in? Completely unacceptable and a massive waste of patients' time. Fix your broken system! read more

Quest Diagnostics - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Castro Valley, California

Very unprofessional and disrespectful experience. I had a 12:40 PM appointment on September 2, 2026, and had already been waiting for a while. I briefly stepped away to make a phone call and did not hear my name being called. When I returned, I asked whether they had called my name. A staff member then asked another colleague whether she had called my name. During that exchange, the staff member stated, "these people, man." She said it loudly and within my hearing. I had already been waiting beyond my scheduled appointment time, and briefly stepping away and missing my name being called did not warrant a derogatory comment from a staff member. If there was an issue, it could have simply been communicated to me professionally. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Referring to a patient as "these people" while speaking to coworkers is inappropriate and unprofessional, especially in a healthcare setting. read more

After trying to go to the Mowry location yesterday and being met with senseless service, long waits, and rude staff- it was the opposite from my impression here. Practically empty waiting room around 3pm on a weekday with a much smaller waiting room as well. Whole process was quick and easy. I had an appt that I made the night before. The phlebotomist who drew my blood was friendly and did great! Most painless experience yet. Barely felt the poke and he kept his hand super steady with each collection tube change. First time here but this will be my new go-to location moving forward. read more

Quest Diagnostics - Located inside Eden Medical Building - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Castro Valley, California

This lab is totally user unfriendly. There is no human contact in the waiting room. There is no way to reach them on the phone. Making appointments are required but they are weeks if not months to wait. I came as a walk in but I have no idea if I'm on a list. There is a wall between the lad and the eaiting room. No window. No humans. Just a pad on a pole. I hate this lab! read more

I've had mixed experiences at this location. Sometimes resulting in a long wait, other times the lab never received my doctor's orders, or even not having the most gentle experience with getting the blood work. Luckily today I had a great experience with Karina and it went smooth and efficient. I was in and out and treated with attentive care. This is the experience I hope to receive every time in the future! Thanks Quest read more

The way of their work is so outdated. Sometimes they ignore customer's questions because they are busy and short of staff. They just keep saying "Have a seat and wait." On one of my appointment days, they had me wait one hour. I decided I will never visit this place again. Now I visit another place which is so cool. read more

Would not recommend , words were not very honest throughout the process. The customer interaction was terrible.

We paid and our insurance paid and we are at 5 months of being promised a refund. Terrible customer service in billing.

Abysmal. Came to my appointment on time, no human being to speak to, just a machine with unclear instructions. Chose to receive a text instead of waiting. Instead of texting me when they're actually ready for me, they text me immediately and tell me to wait in the waiting room. More than a dozen people waiting in there, treated like cattle. Waited for more than HALF AN HOUR past my appointment time- it was for routine bloodwork that's supposed to take no more than a couple minutes, I skipped breakfast to be there. I go in and they don't have the order. I have to physically go to my doctor's office (where, thankfully, I spoke to an actual human being who was friendly and helpful and took care of the completely unexpected request in about 2 minutes) and get a print-out of the order and bring it back. I do so, and I'm told that actually, they can't do it here, I have to go to Oakland. Wretched experience and I got the feeling everybody who worked there knew it. read more

I am disabled and mobility challenged. My doctor ordered a lab test but I needed information from the lab. YOU CANNOT GET A LIVE BODY TO TALK TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. Damn ridiculous. Because they're too lazy to answer their phone. I can't get the information I need prior to going in. If I go in without the required information, I will have to make a second trip. It's very difficult for me to get there once let alone twice if I don't have the required paperwork or information and this is totally unacceptable. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but they must have some way for people to get in touch that need information not covered by their talking robots. read more

This review is an addendum to my review of two days ago. After checking in I was told that I would receive a text when they were ready to see me. That was Thursday. Today is Saturday. i have yet to receive the text. read more

Quest Diagnostics in Hayward at 20400 Castro Valley , Lake Chabot Rd 94546 . HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced in the Medical field. I wish I could give them Zero stars .No one was at the front desk for questions and concerns the office had so many patients waiting for what ever needs were . I had a scheduled appointment , apparently some one in the rear said my Moms name was not on the form and had and she had and she could not find her on the kiosk .. I printed and screenshot like I always have for my mother and showed it to her . She gave some lame excuse were" Were running behind and I can read Thank you " apparently you cannot comprehend as well ! You can hear them giggling and laughing in the back than someone went on lunch as 2 more arrived back from lunch I was listening . "Why Why are 2 on lunch at the same time and the third Lady should have waited until the other 2 returned I I ALWAYS make my appointments normally in Sanleandro . Than some lady finally arrives and claims she cannot find the facsimile the Dr. Office confirmed she had already faxed over . But she shows me some Doctored up paper with My Moms first and last name on it but she claims it was a pregnancy request from Florida . That makes NO SENSE at all .. I asked for the Office Manager " than I I was told " she was off today whom another patient stated she had waited for her schedule appointment for 50 minutes while she was in the rear " I heard her say that lady has been waiting for someone she with her Mom we had the same scheduled Appointment ! Than her comes another lady saying call your Maybe she can email it to us , with a smirk smile on her face . Our appointment was at 12:20pm we arrived at 12:12pm And left at 1:45 still NO HELP as they continued to help everyone else . I phoned my mom's Doctor office and the reply was" We have faxed your Moms Document twice " already .! Some lady says "have a seat someone will check our system "! I had had enough!! I know what the problem is DIVERSITY / laziness that office needs a FACELIFT if you are not a certain ethnicity you will be IGNORED !! I will let everyone I know DONT go there until changes are made . Boycott them !! All that Giggling and conversations amongst themselves in there language while the office is full of WAITING patients is UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! I will never return there EVER I will continue to go to San Leandro quest Diagnostics . You are In and Out those ladies takes there jobs and profession Serious . Thank you I have learned my lesson now! read more

My family and I come here for routine blood work, and have never had any issues. I appreciate that they take appointments and also allow you to wait outside to be seen, to avoid cramming people into their waiting room. I like Quest Diagnostics a LOT better than Labcorp, which in my experience have rundown offices and are in dire need of an office space update. My advice for Quest: 1. Make an appointment 2. If you do a walk in, be prepared to wait in the mornings as there are many people who are fasting and in the office first thing to get their blood drawn 3. If you do a walk in, afternoons are probably best (we walked in on a Tuesday afternoon at 4pm and didn't have to wait) read more

I'm not surprised this place has such low stars, in a word it is awful. My neurologist referred me here to get some tests done before my next appointment, so the paperwork and all of my information was pre-submitted well before my appointment. Yet, the tech, Marisela, who was extremely unprofessional and rude, tells me at my appointment that my insurance is not accepted. How is this information just being discovered when I'm checking in for my labs, after fasting for 12 hours plus taking time off from work. It literally makes no sense why due diligence isn't performed BEFORE an appointment so that a patient's time is respected and honored. If you have to go here for any reason, it's up to you to make sure the professionals have done their part so that your time isn't wasted with merely a shrug of dismissal. If you can, go elsewhere! read more

The two experts withdrew blood from me quickly and relatively painlessly. The wait is brief. Both times I was there, walk-in or apt, it didn't make much of a difference. Going during the weekday is better than the weekend said a tech. She said the experienced go during the weekday sand they're all good at it then. read more

Great location, my favorite Bay Area Quest location by far. Always fully staffed, very clean, early location to find, and always has available parking. Despite having a set appointment, this team honors people who were late or standing by. Multiple people pulled PAST my appointment time. All the while I am sitting here checked in. Marcelina is Amazing!! I have very deep veins; therefore it is always difficult to withdraw blood in my arm. I had mastectomy in my breath. I can only withdraw blood on my left arm. Most nurses or technicians had to put the needle and dived in to search my vein. Usually they would have to poke me SEVERAL times before they find my vein. It was not only horribly painful; the worst were all the BLAMING from the nurses or he technicians. I have just had a bloodwork this morning in this location. It was amazingly quick like magic. Because it was super quick, there was no time to feel the pain!! I did not have appointment. I just walked in and had my service done very soon!! I will definitely comeback in the future. read more

They do a great job here and it's close to home. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment! The do everything in their power to honor appointments. With no appointment, you will wait... and wait... and wait. The staff has always been great, personable and know what they are doing. There may not be enough seating in the waiting area, but other than that... it's a great place for lab work for those of us that live in the area. read more

I would give 1 star if they don't have Joe works in this lab. The ladies in this lab are rude and unprofessional. They would not try to find your vein. Also make sure to make your appointment or else you might end up waiting all day. read more

I get my blood drawn monthly for my Accutane acne medication and usually they do so well. But there was this new worker that I've never seen and she was so aggressive. She pulled the needle out too fast and at a wrong angle and tore open my vein. I now have a huge bruise and it hurt so bad for the whole day. I went back there to complain and I hope they talked to their supervisor about it because I refuse to have her hands on me again. read more

Hi Everyone, This review will differ from the norm in that I'm searching for one of their former employees. Yep. Claudette. Best in the business. And I should know, as I've been deemed "tough to hit" by just about every lab worker in the Bay Area. Claudette, if by chance you're out there reading this, I'm the guy in Castro Valley that used to always tell you that if I won the lottery, I'd just put you on retainer, so that if I ever needed a blood draw, you'd be at the ready. When I showed up at CV Quest and they told me you were gone, "no forwarding address", I just about broke down in tears. So if you see this, please private message me here and let me know where you're currently plying your trade. I'd run through a brick wall to get you back. Thanks. And now back to your regularly scheduled program. read more

I would never recommend this place. Every time we've gone there they're always so cold look so bothered don't greet say hello or speak not nice at all; when I said on the sight says walk in okay that's not true. Was told wont be seen if don't make an appointment. Told them had a problem with the site. The black phlebotomist there replied no one else is having problems. Told can't be seen without appointment. Even though tried again and had problems with site. He could care less. Didn't offer any help or suggestions. I end up calling the number for my 87 yo aunty. We got there at 9:30 10:00; appointment available made was 3:30. He still hadn't asked if we got appointment. I had to ask if she could be seen earlier since were there. Only then he said have a seat. Today 10:17/22 returned for labs again. So sad they don't speak. Really cold office. Dread having to take my aunty there!!!!!! read more

Marcelina was Very unprofessional with walk-in customers. My mother and I arrived at 10:40a with one waiting before us. 4 appointments came in throughout the time we waiting and were treated. The last of which appointment was at 12p and at 11:45a they removed my mothers name from the board called my mother's name and then said never mind they will treat the 12p appointment before treating my mother and she would need to continue to wait. The staff member Marcelina told my mother it's the lunch hour and the policy here is appointment only. She gave me a stack of cards and said call and check when you call it says appointments only "Appointments are our policy" This was a very horrible experience for my mother after having a great hospital visit. Do not recommend this place to anyone looking to walk in. read more

In the past, this clinic was efficient and I was able to make appointments quickly. But now I am trying for the second time to get a blood test. The first time for some reason the appointment confirmation did not go through. And when I got there, I was surprised that the front desk area was completely covered so that I couldn't ask for help unless one of people came out to call the next person. It is much more crowded than I ever remember it was. The second time I ensured that I got a confirmation along with an appointment . I ended up waiting for 25 minutes and when my name was called I was told by a rude worker that she does not have my paperwork from the doctor and requested that I get the paperwork next door. When I returned that same worker, who I told that I need to get back to work and I can't wait much longer anymore, told me that she can't take me because there was a person in line before me . I was pretty frustrated at this point because I was waiting for 40 minutes already up to this point. Thankfully, within 5 minutes, a friendly worker named Jason quickly got my blood test done. I am honestly disappointed at how inefficient this place has become. I had a blood test here multiple times before, but o haven't seen it this full of people and long waiting time ever until now. read more

Horrible service. The associates working were yelling at each other while patients were in the waiting room. I ended up leaving because I heard them trying to get blood from a patient and the patient was screaming and they kept yelling at the patient. I was standing at the counter for 10 minutes before anyone greeted me and they were all sitting there at the desk. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER.Would not recommend. read more

They have the worst customer services in the world, tons of patients had super bad experience. Because of the insurance coverage and location. They don't have choices to move others, so they need to come back. I was at the waiting room after I checked in. Then I don't see my name on the screen, so I did it one more time after 15 minutes. It still didn't show up. So I waited at the door to see if there had anyone can help. When I saw someone, I asked the technician, he replied with a very unprofessional attitude. Seem like many patient asked questions, he was not supposed to answer your questions. There was no services at all, we are not expect a services like restaurant, retail store or others. Just a simple questions. They still don't willing to answer. it makes a lot of patients miss their best time to treat, because no appointments and even though they accept walk-in, it takes forever. They said you will be called, it takes 5-6 hours, but finally they told you that was not guaranteed. It shouldn't tell the wait time on the screen 30-60 minutes, but end up you waste your whole day. People read this message, please share your experience. Hope one day the company can improve it and help people get the best time to treat their life. read more

OMG! DO NOT COME HERE. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT LOCATION! Ridiculous long wait Horrible customer service Small parking lot Place inside stinks! All I needed was a drug test. 5 minutes tops. BUT I WAITED AN HOUR AND A HALF!! I got there at 10:45am, I didn't get called until 12:15pm!! I even called the day before to make an appointment but they told me to just come in the morning. So I didn't think it would take this long and it ruined some of my plans for the day. I was soo mad. I asked the lady if they were ready for my test yet because I've been waiting for so long and here's our convo: Me: "Excuse me, is it my turn for my drug test yet? I've been waiting for over an hour.." Lady: "Is your name on the list? " Me: "Yes" Lady: "Then you'll have to wait (Fake bitchy smile) When they finally called my name, they didn't even say "sorry for the wait" or "thanks for waiting." What horrible service!!! If I could give this place half a star I would. I had a 1:30pm appointment and they asked me to email the lab requests to them so I did. I've been over an hour for an APPOINTMENT at 1:30pm...what's the point of making an appointment if you're not going to be attended to when it's your appointment time. When they finally realized I had been sitting in front of reception for an hour they asked the guy, Joe, to check the email I sent, apparently I had misspelled something but you're going to wait over an hour and take walkins and other appointments when I had an appointment at 1:30??? I could hear them having a good time in the back while I wait having my time wasted. I'm a nurse and I understand the process, but this experience is ridiculous. I don't understand what their protocols and procedures are but I highly doubt I'll ever return to this location if I have to go through a quest again. read more

The worst -- I will never use this company again. My Doctor ordered a full panel of tests. Quest forgot to perform one of the tests. They told me total cost of tests, and charged me $106. 3 months later, they sent me a bill for $344 -- completely ignoring the $106 I had already paid. I called Quest to deal with this, and the person I spoke to was an idiot, telling me "You weren't charged for the test we forgot to give you". So what? Now I have to contact my Healthcare company to try & straighten this out. I am seriously considering legal action. I don't have time for this BS. Do you? DANGER . . . THIS PLACE COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH Nobody has put in a review here since December 2010. I will confirm to all that nothing has changed. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE First off, I am not a newbie to having my blood drawn, and I have large enough arm veins that would make any phlebotomist smile. I have been here for two blood draws. Both experiences were aweful. Long wait regardless of who is in the room Rude customer service The two phlebotomists claim to be 'long term experienced' BUT forget it. They are both terrible. the last visit I had resulted in my arm swelling up with a huge knot at the draw site. Hurt like hell, and turned into a bruise that covered half of the inside of my arm. It's now been three weeks and although the knot is gone, the bruising still remains and my arm is still really sore. I see my doctor tomorrow for the face-to-face discussion of my bloodwork, and what has happened here. BOTTOM LINE - DON'T GO HERE !!! read more

The office is packed and uncomfortable, everyone is shoulder to shoulder. If you don't have an appointment, you wait and wait and wait... What's even more annoying is that the staff sees a full waiting room and there is ZERO sense of urgency. The staff is completely unsympathetic to your need to get on with your life. My wait time for a simple blood draw was over an hour. Of course, you'll always have to come back and use this place again.... BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY PLACE YOU CAN GO.
