My husband was referred here by his doctor. Located in Castro Valley by Lake Chabot Rd. Easy to find by the freeway. For some reason, there is plenty of parking but is always full. I would get here early for your appt for easy parking choices. This office is located in the Eden Medical Building. Close walking distance to Starbucks/Denica's for coffee, drinks and food if you are the one waiting. Got here on time but was delayed due to missing a front staff person. The procedure went fast and smoothly. Each person was like an assembly line once one was done, the next patient was taken care of. Once you get that shot through the IV, you're out in 10 mins. It took about an hour and half from when he got inside. You will be spoken to the doctor if there was a big issue to be said but he was able to leave with paperwork of what happens next. I have been here for an endoscopy and colonoscopy and both times everything went well. The front office is friendly and helpful and all the nurses were awesome. First, I don't understand why a nurse would put a blood pressure monitor on my arm before asking me what arm she could use!! I had breast cancer a long time ago! So never on my left side! Secondly, during my colonoscopy I threw up all over my hair! They do not provide hair nets! They need to consider using them! After my colonoscopy they do not offer any type of snack like other surgery places always do!!! The anesthesiologist was the greatest! He kept me from being so out of sorts, he kept me calmer and was a joy, thank you so much! read more

I don't recommend this place you are better off going somewhere that will properly breakdown costs and not hit you with hidden facility charges. I had previously asked the doctors office who preformed my procedures regarding the facility and they informed me that the costs would be covered by my deductible that I paid ahead. Unfortunately that was not true. I was hit with multiple bills all separately billed which was all reasonable except for the bill coming from the BAE facility. Dr. Wei Fang Ko, and the nurses at the procedure/operating room were great. The people in the front office/reception area are mediocre and perfunctory, not comforting at all. God help you after the fact, through. A few months later you get a bill. You pay it. Then a few months later you get another bill. Unhelpful person at BAEC billing, blames software for information, cannot tell me anything, does not know or care, is rude, and tells me to call insurance company. If I could give a rating of zero (0) then I would. I reported to the Greater Bay Endoscopy Center to have a procedure performed for an appointment that I set up with Dr. Adler's office three weeks prior. When I started to check-in, I was told I did not have an appointment today. A half hour later I was told that my appointment had been cancelled but that I could wait around and they would "try to squeeze me in". I then proceed to contact Dr. Adler's office was told "your appointment was cancelled by your girlfriend because you wanted to go to San Leandro Hospital due to insurance reasons". I responded that I had never cancelled my appointment and that there had been a major mistake on your staff's part in confusing me with another patient. It's concerning there was a note in my chart that should have been in another patient's chart. Fortunately, this error in charting occurred regarding scheduling of a procedure and not directly related to mine or another other patient's medical care, which would cause pause for a risk management issue. During a telephone conversation with Dr. Adler about the situation and mistake made by his staff, Dr. Adler expressed a laissez-faire and cavalier attitude regarding this situation in stating, "these things happen and slip through the cracks at times". Dr. Adler also stated that I should "go with the flow and that nobody died or contracted cancer". This is the most unprofessional statement and attitude that I have ever seen or heard from a physician and certainly, not one of empathy, as facilitated in Dr. Adler's medical training. This situation and response by Dr. Adler and his staff does not bode well in instilling confidence in the overall care being coordinated for me as a patient. First impressions are everything in life. Dr. Adler, along with his staff, have made a lasting impression alright, but in a negative manner. read more

Endoscopy done by Dr Ghevariya at Bay Area Endoscopy Center in February 2019. Everyone was knowledgeable and nice - no attitude! I got cold & they covered me with a warmed blanket. It was quick, I didn't feel a thing and no problems & no soreness afterwards. They also called later to make sure everything was okay. If possible, take a relative with you so they can keep you company in the prep room before the procedure. read more

I am amazed. First of all I went in and they took me right away. 3 people took care of me in the prep stages and they constantly verified that it was me and my DOB. Next I was rolled in. The procedure was to be a 9:30 but I was already prepped and ready to go at 9:05. The gave me a medium anesthetic. There was the doctor who conversed with me before hand, confirming our meeting in October and the procedure and what to expect. I was alert during the entire procedure and watched it on the screen next to me. It was fascinating. I was reeled back, my sister was brought in, the doctor came in and explained everything and will be sending me a full, written report, and I was ready to go. I found the entire procedure flawless and professional starting with the offices confirming my appointment and insurance the day before, the receptionist going over everything that I was signing, the 3 medical prep staff, the doctor, the procedure, the recovery, the explanation, review and information. The ONLY drawback: Parking. We got in a 8:25am and the left parking lot was totally empty as it is only for handicapped parking. They have about 12 - 14 spaces. The right hand side parking lot had no patient spaces. They were taken up by staff, doctors, maintenance or reserved. They could easily make at least 6 stalls on the left hand side (handicapped side) for the staff and leave the rest on the right hand side for patients. Otherwise: Just Fantastic! read more

They are running behind their time. My dad made an appointment at 10:30am for his procedure. We got in their office 30 minutes before, and they said they gave us a call that his procedure was at 12pm. We did have to wait for 2 hours for his procedure to start. read more

Check in was super easy and I didn't have to wait long to be taken in and prepped. The nurses were efficient and very attentive. It is a small center, with maybe 6 beds for both prep and recovery, so the nurses were close at all times. The staff worked together very well, which gave it that comfy feeling when employees have a good time together. I was assigned to one nurse, but the other nurse was just as attentive when my nurse was busy. Even when the doctor zipped through, there was the same feel of casual camaraderie. Going into the procedure seemed amazingly fast compared to the two other facilities in which I've had the same procedure done. Once in the procedure room, it is brisk efficiency. In other facilities I've lain there and watched them laboriously check all the tubes and equipment and plug everything in to see if it is working, and they did all that here, but with much less fuss. It also seemed to me that they had everything that they needed close to hand, whereas at the other facilities, both hospitals, they had to go retrieve things from outside of the room. It was like watching an orchestra: they put me in the room, everyone knew their part and did it well, the doctor came in with no lag time, I got my meds and away we went. Recovery was nice and easy. The nurses knew the minute I opened my eyes, even though the curtain was closed. My friend was called, I got dressed and when they needed the bed they transferred me to a corner waiting area with a cushy recliner to doze in while I waited. My friend was almost an hour late picking me up, but I never felt pressured to leave and the nurses still kept checking on me. They gave me juice and crackers, too! It turned out to be a good thing my friend was so late, because something had tied the doctor up and he had not been able to give me the report until just before I left, but those things happen in a doctor's life. Someone called the next day to make sure I was feeling all right, that I had no lingering effects from the meds, that there was nothing wrong with my inner workings and to remind me to make a follow up appointment with my doctor. Also, prior to my appointment, they were very pleasant when they called to confirm my appointment and to explain the process and what to expect. They were not rushed or curt in any way. The same was true when they called back to adjust the time of my procedure, saying the doctor asked me to come in a half hour earlier, which was fine with me. I highly recommend the Center and have no concerns about my upcoming procedure with them. I'm sorry the first reviewer had such a bad experience with the office staff and doctor. My doctor is Dr. Sawhney and I highly recommend him as well. read more

My mom, Dad and I all had procedures there. Every time there was some kind of scheduling snafu. Getting into the building is even hard. You have to punch in the suite number at the pad at the door, but there is no sign telling you to do that and they don't tell you that when you get your appointment. Some kind of mental health place sharing the facility I think. They also said they were on my insurance but turns out - not. I was lucky to get a grace coverage from my insurance. I don't think they have any doctors of their own, so at least that part was OK. read more

Horrible place to have colonoscopy done. Asked to be there one hour before scheduled procedure and got there on time. Had to wait 30 minutes to be checked in with receptionist. Finally was sent back to surgery area. The pre-op nurses never checked on me but one was on phone with a friend talking very loudly. The others sat at the nurses station gossiping about what they did over the weekend and making plans for their next Friday night out. The most unprofessional medical service I have ever received. Had to give a rating in order to post this review but in all honesty I would give this place zero stars if I could. Would not recommend. read more

Every visit here has meant delays. On one occasion, the staff did not have the correct instruments available, and we waited an additional hour (past the "routine" one hour delay) while the instruments were located and sterilized. We also find the doctor-patient conversations unhelpful and lacking in information that we need. Our most recent concern is that the staff , which sends its tissues to Dr. John Collins for pathology reports, did not take responsibility for assuring that the pathology lab at San Leandro Hospital was in-network with Cigna, as had always been the case in previous years. San Leandro Hospital was being sold to Alameda Co. Health, and the transition resulted in them being out of network for a while. Despite many attempts to mitigate the charges we were forced to pay, the Endoscopy Center will assume no responsibility. Nor will Dr. Collins. That, plus long wait times and less than satisfactory communication with the doctors, have convinced us to go elsewhere. read more
