I have been to Dr. Bhandari's medical offices dozens of time over last six years. My mother & my nephew are his patients. The best thing I like about Dr. Bhandari is his nature & professionalism. He smiles and make his patients very comfortable before. Second best thing is that he listens very carefully to his patients. There have been times when we had to wait lil bit, but it is worthy. One Leaves with a sense of care. On 12/5/19, a Person named Preet tended to my mother & she patiently answered answered my mom's questions. I normally do not leave Yelp reviews but this "Doctor's office " is the worst that I have been! First off, my father has a scheduled appointment for them at 1:30 PM. We arrived there 10 minutes early for courtesy thinking there will be temperature checks & Covid related checking before entering the building. The doors were closed. One of the assistants opened the door at 1:30 and let us is. When my father approached their check in desk, rudely one of the assistants told him, "sir we are still at lunch!" According to their note at the door & voicemail, their lunch hour is between 12:30 to 1:30 pm. I understand maybe they are finishing up so we sat. 15 minutes had past they are still chatting behind the counter. None of the assistants acknowledged us or informed us that they are running a little late or at least to say sorry for the wait. To think we are the only one waiting there. No one was there!!! The scariest thing is they had no hand sanitizers or wipes and they dead a DEAD PLANT in the office! That tells alot that they just simply do not care. We walked out of that horrible old building. They saw us leave and didn't they even bother at all. We arrived home 30 mins later, not even a phone call from them asking where we at or if he father is going to make the appointment. Please do not waste your time with this doctor. You are better off somewhere who would check if you have covid symptoms and sanitizing station. Bhupinder N bhandari is the worst gastrointestinal Doctor in the bay. I have been struggling with a flare up since the Corona virus shut down. He has ignored all my phone calls. I had scheduled several calls with him that he would not return purposely. When he returned the phone call He intentionally forgot to prescribe me the medication needed. I had reach out to my insurance to make him give me my Meds. I can't believe he would do this, flare is life threatening and painful. He told me to call him back a week latter so he could fill out his part of SDI. I called back a week latter just so he could tell me no he won't fill out his part of SDI. He Completely wasted my time with false hope. If he would have said no A week ago I could have planned for another source of income before the Edd website crashed. Neglect, Lies and insurance fraud is all you will get from the doctor and his staff. Having him as a doctor has been the worst mistake of my life. In the past He has made me wait 2 hours for all his appointment. After waiting for two hours he would send in some random doctor I have never seen before,, just to avoid me. The doctors will often lie and say he left for the day, but will send him in only If I Stood up for myself. He also commits insurance fraud. One day I made appointment to see him for prescriptions.He sent all of them electronically to the pharmacy except one. I called, went to the office, left sticky notes for 3 months requesting the medication he forgot. Finally I contacted My insurance. My insurance reached out to him and he told them, if I want the medication, I will have to make another appointment with him.... meaning that I will have to pay another co pay for something he forgot on the last appointment. Smh! He also breaks hippa law. I went to visit him for a procedure that required me to be exposed form the stomach down. He invited his student doctors in the room without my consent. I had to tell him twice not to do this. Each time he would get an attitude as if I had no rights. Even my pharmacy complains about him and his staff! It's a shame that I had to be treated like this during corona virus spread, it goes to show that some doctor shouldn't be doctor! I went to Bhandari for cerumen management, which is basically ear wax removal. He was very late to his shift, and for a while the clinic was without a doctor. We were just waiting. I waited a total of four hours to see him. The restrooms at the clinic are a mess and they were clogged up. When he finally saw me, I was the last patient to be seen. Granted I was a walk-in but how absolutely ridiculous to wait so long. He ordered the nurse to set me up in a room, and he had such a demeaning and condescending tone about it. Bhandari you do not deserve that level of respect, because you cannot deliver. He saw me quickly and he prescribed Debrox, and simply wrote "use as directed" on the prescription note. I was in utter disbelief. Did he just prescribe me over the counter ear drops?! I could've done this myself without having even walked in. I then visited CityHealth in San Leandro where the, mind you, medical assistant was able to successfully remove the earwax blockage rather quickly. After I told them about my experience with Bhandari, they were in disbelief that he didn't just remove the blockage himself there. Absolutely deplorable practice he has running there. I recommend you go everywhere else if he cannot do as simple as an ear wax removal. read more

My first time coming in, my appointment was for 3:45pm and they did not notify me that their running late for my appointment. Very unprofessional. Not sure how long I'm going to have to wait currently to see the doctor but these people need to respect their patients time and atleast notify their "appointment" patients if they are running late or needing to reschedule. Seems like others have been waiting here for longer than expected. If you read others comments it really tells you how they operate a serious professional business. Dr. Bhupinder Bhandri is our family doctor, and a very good human being also, he listens. Girls work on front desk very nice too and give us appointment whenever we needed. I've just started coming to Dr. Bhandari as a patient. The staff are nice and prompt. My grandmom was his patient for 15+ years along with Dr. Pareek from the same office. He's very patient, and loves being of help to patients, and family. They were very good with continuing my grandmom's outpatient care, and follow up appointments after her hospitalizations. They were much better than St. Rose doctors. They worked with Sutter Health Hospitals very easily, and coordinated with their resident doctors really well. Very unprofessional staff. Had an appointment for 2:00pm. Doors did not open until 2:00pm. Was not called in until 2:40pm. Complained to one of the assistants who could care less. Once seeing the dr., he asked one question," do you have any pain in your stomach?" ,said he needed to see the prior lab results and see you in 1month. As a new patient of his HAYWARD location , I have high expectations for someone who hates going to the doctors. When I came in I was greeted with warm welcome by the front desk representative. But when the nurse who took my weight and other things she seemed like she wanted to go home and just gave me attitude. The overall place seems like creepy as if it is a scene from a scary movie. As a person, Dr. Bhandari is very nice and friendly, but as a doctor, I give him a thumbs down for one very significant reason. Ive had two endo/colo's done by Dr. Bhandari for stomach bloating and throat issues, both supposedly coming up without any remarkable results. After the second one, my hematologist, who doesn't miss a beat, decided to look up the results for a specific reason. As she was reading the results half aloud and half quietly to herself, I heard her mention the word "cirrhosis". "What" I said? "Cirrhosis???". Yes, she confirmed and kept on reading. How can that be? I thought. Dr. Bhandari made no mention of it while reading off my results. So I scheduled another appt with him to get further information. He came in the room and said he had looked over the test results and he couldn't find anything to do with cirrhosis. I insisted that my other doc had seen it listed on the results. He went back to check again and re-confirmed that there wasn't anything on the results. Knowing how thorough and trustworthy my hematologist is, I then brought it up to my heart specialist at Stanford. Because it was an eventual likelihood for me over time, he ordered liver function tests and a CT scan of my upper/lower abdomen. Sure enough, I had stage 3 cirrhosis caused by congestion from my congenital heart condition. I was so disappointed in Dr. Bhandari, because he's otherwise pretty decent. I honestly couldn't believe it. How can a doctor look at his own test results 3 times and miss such an important thing such as this. Needless to say, there won't be an opportunity to screw up a 4th time. read more

My doctors visit at 1090 La Playa Dr was, objectively speaking, the worst experience I have ever had at a doctor's visit. If you'll look through my reviews, you'll see that they are overwhelmingly positive; I wish that I could give my appointment today a similarly positive review. Here is a summary of my visit. Arrive for my 3 pm appointment. Fill out some paperwork (standard). Wait in waiting room. 30 minutes later, called into the back and talk to someone and explain the reason for my visit. Told to wait in the hallway of the offices. Get called in a second time to a different room. Explain the same things. Get told to wait outside again. Finally see the doctor. He didn't even look at me, and instead wanted to schedule x-rays. He completely glossed over my chief complaint, and when he attempted to have me ushered out of his office, I asked, "what about this?" To which he replied, "you tell me" and then said I would need to go see a skin doctor (again...without even looking at me). It should further be noted that none of the three times I got to talk to someone was the door closed (so everyone in the hallway could hear if they were by the door). Essentially, I wasted an hour and half plus $15 (my copay) to get nothing out of my afternoon. As a side note, a number of other patients were sharing my frustration, complaining about long wait times. A patient barged into another doctors office at one point, and a loud verbal exchange occurred. Overall, a terrible experience, wish I had gone to an urgent care or ER instead. Worst doctor ever! BEWARE. Unprofessional to say the least. My husband saw this very ignorant doctor on 5/15/2019. The doctor basically did nothing and was uninterested in finding the reasons behind my husband's allergic reaction. He never called to explain test results and only took 10 minutes to excuse himself from the appt. Also, taking a 5 minute call in the appt and talking to someone else in the room during the appt. Worst doctor I've ever seen. I had an infection and was diagnosed with a disease because my symptoms mimicked the symptoms to that disease. When diagnosing me with an inaccurate diagnosis, Dr. Bhandari just brushed me away with "go look on the internet". Never gave me eye contact while telling me I had an autoimmune disease. Wait times were hours among hours for him to rush me out. Receptionists always on their cellphones when you walk in, they look at you like you're bothering them because you're there and need help. The only person that truly showed empathy and cared, was their Physician's assistant/Nurse Practitioner Niala, very sweet person. If it wasn't for her I would've never been able to get a second opinion because she helped send my referral to UCSF Medical - Gastroenterology. I called a handful of times because each time I asked the receptionists to do something for me, they would mess up. Niala was the only one that took charge and did their work for them. I had a second opinion, a whole panel of testing only to find out I have NO autoimmune disease. In fact, the doctor at UCSF was shocked at why Bhandari insisted I had one because he jumped to an endoscopy first without doing a panel of blood work prior to that other procedure. I feel very fortunate that I got seen at UCSF because I finally got to learn the truth about my body. Two of my UCSF Doctors even said "I notice that a lot of doctors out there are over diagnosing patients all the time. Please do not go anywhere else again, stay with UCSF." read more

I have an adult disabled son with numerous medical needs. I was referred to him by his prior primary who could no longer treat him. Initially I was reluctant because of my sons ongoing administrative and medical needs. I did however give it a shot. In my observation and interaction, Dr. Bhandari and his staffing not only accommodated, but handled my requests in a very professional and efficient manner (my son has numerous administrative documents which requires processing, some having to appeal medical insurance company for decline of service for my sons special needs). Most recently his Fremont location, where were are normally seen, has implemented a new protocol, which has reduced the number of patients in waiting area - thus reducing overcrowding. This allows less stress and more efficiency in whole office operation flow. Dr. Bhandari holds a respective status and affiliations with Washington Hospital which is a critical standard for me. He and staffing are very easy for work with and receptive to my proactive requests ( a clear sign he is confident and not threatened by parent input - I have had doctors in the past who were unwilling to work as a 'team'.) This is vital to ensure my sons needs are met. Despite his status of years of professional accomplishments, there is no 'ego' or battling for a doctor to work cohesively. He is always willing and open to my input and suggestions, thus offering his professional advice. He and staffing are very pleasant who have treated us with respect and professionalism.
