I came here for my 3 hour glucose after LabCorp messed up the first time. The staff here is very nice. I couldn't leave for the whole three hours I was there since I had to get my blood drawn every hour. If I did, it would jeopardize the integrity of the test and also they need to monitor you in case you get light headed or nauseous from the fasting the night before or the glucose drink. I have always been scared of needles, my experience here has been pretty professional with the exception of them not offering the butterfly needle. I did inform them that I have small no visible veins and tend to bruise. Welps...I guess if you didn't know to request for butterfly needles they won't offer it to you. (I didnt know) so all four of my entry spots ended up bruising. read more

I had an appt today and brought a lab order & my insurance card. I was told I needed to pay the estimate for the services up front. I have used Quest for many years, used the appt system, and been to different locations as well as this one and have not been asked to pay up front. I don't have an outstanding balance. I have Blue Shield PPO. I do not have a co pay. I asked to be billed once my insurance was billed, and she said Quest doesn't bill customers anymore. How am I supposed to know how much I owe before I go? She said I could call my insurance ahead of time and ask. If this is true, it is terrible customer service. I called the billing number she gave me when I got home, and they confirmed this was a staff error. I should be billed after the visit. It is optional to pay the estimate up front. I tried to call the location directly to let them know this, and there is only a recorded message. Hopefully they see this. The old Quest Diagnostics on Hellman Ave moved to this location on the 3rd floor. I made an appointment for my annual "biometric screening" on a Friday at 10:30AM. I arrived at 10:30AM, was called in from the waiting room at 10:35AM, and was out at 10:50AM. The same lady who helped me last year, Anna, helped me this year as well. She was courteous and professional - drew my blood, took my height, weight, and blood pressure, and then I was on my way. read more

Attn: Office Manager or Supervisor I want to bring your attention to file a complaint the sluppiness and incompetence of one of your employee which is totally unacceptable. I went to your office on 5/13/19 Monday at 10:15am did not call me until 2:30pm. Prior to I submitted the doctor's requisition for my PSA blood test. When the time to call, your employee could not find the dr's requisition and it was wrongly put in someone's else file. She also had to call the other patient to come back as my information was given to the other patient. Because of this mistake, I doubt if the blood result belongs to me. This was an easy breezy experience! I was kind of surprised to see poor reviews, but for what it's worth.... The people I dealt with were super nice and the gentleman who drew my blood (Luis) was so super calming! I haven't had blood work done in ages so I was quite nervous... My doctor told me to come here early so that I wouldn't have to wait long. Arrived at around 9:00 am on a Thursday and got done within an hours time (no appointment). Luis checked both arms and found it easier to pull blood off my left arm. I got poked. Sat looking out the window for what seemed like an eternity and... Wah-la! I came on a Saturday at 8:45am and was in and out in 15 minutes! There was only 1 person ahead of me. Check in was quick and easy! And the lady who drew my blood was fast and it didn't hurt at all!! This place is the WORST place that was ever created. I wish I could give negative stars!! The other reviews on here are terribly dishonest, and that is a shame. First I tried booking an appointment at another quest location and they cancelled on me last minute saying "Construction in the building". That was annoying but I rescheduled with this Alhambra location. I literally booked an appointment on the quest website. I fasted for 14 hrs and waited another hr for them to tell me they don't take the insurance. THAT IS RIGHT, ONE HOUR IN THE MIDDLE OF A COVID PANDEMIC AFTER BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT. There was no other customers even there! Now I know why. Why would I have to wait an hour for them to tell me this when they got the insurance card a minute after I entered? The part that is really wild is I had called Quest prior and they flat out told me that they do take my insurance. You check the Quest website and it even says they take the insurance! I checked before, and after, and it says they take the insurance. I called Quest corporate afterwards and they couldn't explain why the website says they take the insurance but I go to this location and they won't take it! I called my insurance prior as well and they told me they take the insurance. Yet this location, they tell me it's cash only after waiting an hr. I literally left, hungry, time wasted after waiting an entire hour for them to tell me something like that when no one else was there after having an appointment. Why one star? NOT the wait, parking, or ease of making appointment... Mainly the staff: 1. Receptionist - almost placed a wrong order until I insisted to see on her monitor to verify the order. 2. The female, blonde phlebotomist (or nurse) who took my blood was definitely not happy, confirmed by her verbal expressions: I was just trying to break the ice by saying,"Busy day today, huh?" She retorted back, "You guys don't understand there are only two of us here." I understood she was frustrated, giving her the benefit of the doubt, continued, "Does making appointment beforehand better for you?" She responded, annoyed, "Making appointment doesn't make our lives easier! it actually slows us down especially when it has complicated order like this (referring to my out-of-network prescriber who ordered the lab)." She continued typing in my order on the keyboard with her hands gloved on. Then she swapped a spot on my arm with a piece of alcohol swab, then used a dry gauze to wipe off the alcohol, which she was not supposed to do because the gauze is not sterile, and she is supposed to wait for the alcohol to dry off (which really would only take seconds). Then she touched the spot with the same gloves she wore touching the keyboard and other stuff in the room, and punctured my arm to draw the blood. I asked, "You guys do change gloves for every patient right?" To this she said," I never got asked that question before! I dont know anywhere who wouldn't." She obviously was upset with my question, so I didnt have the guts to say what was truly on my mind, which was, how futile was the alcohol swab on my arm, if she contaminated with whatever on the surface of the room and keyboard, which she might use while using other pair of gloves she wore with other patients. She continued," We use new needles, new gauzes, and new gloves for each patient." I went there because its the closest to my house. But after this experience, I'd rather drive to a further place to draw my blood. read more

When I signed in, I let them know that this was a pediatric blood draw and this lady working the front desk made a face like ok like i care. Her name was Ana Marie. My daughter is 3 yrs old and this was our first time getting her blood drawn. When we got in I was not able to hold her down on my own so the guy asked Ana Marie to come in and help I thought great not her again. She had a shitty face coming in. She held my daughter so hard that she puncture her skin with her nails. I didn't not see that until we got into the car. U bet corporate will hear about this. Advice to parents don't take your kids here. They try to rush you out,even if it means hurting your child. No one here seems to like people or their job. This is the most unfriendly experience I've had with a phlebotomy establishment. I took a blood draw order from my doctor. They didn't even allow me to fill my name out on the form. She and her manager went out of their way to write no name on the form to render it useless. I am a licensed medical provider and wouldn't jeopardize my standing by charting on a form. So distrustful of humanity. Guess where I will be sending patients for lab draws, not Quest Diagnostics. Don't even deserve a 1 star. Have a good one. read more

The office is clean and nice, that's what they get the one star for. Service not so good. I went to the one on Hellman first since my dr gave me a list and even when I called the line still worked. I waited for half an hour right at one. No one ever showed up so I came to this one. When I asked what happened to the store in Hellman, she said it was closed and relocated there. I asked why there wasn't a sign or customers won't waste their time. She said in a smug way, there was but its been 6 months so they took it down. No apology or empathy. I proceeded to get my blood drawn and she had to poke me 3 times, 2 times on one arm and one on the other in order for her to draw any blood. Not to mention she poked and twisted the needle around. While inserting the needle into my son, she was constantly bringing new topics to talk about to help my son forget that there was a needle in him. I have to wait in line with the walk-ins to sign in on the only screen available. I have an appointment. I also have the app. Why can't I sign in through the app? Once I get signed in, you would think they would take my paperwork. Not so. I have to wait to be called. My appointment time comes and goes. Finally I get called just to hand over my paperwork. Did I mention I have an appointment? And why do they always have to copy my insurance card? I have an account. I can scan it and upload it to my account. If there was another lab close to me I'd go there. Both times I've come with an appointment. The first time they didn't check if I had an appointment, so I ended up waiting on the walk in list for a while before I realized what happened. The second time I came 15 min early, signed in to the appointment list, and ended up waiting 30 min before checking what happened--someone had accidentally crossed my name off. The rude girl at the front desk is yelling at people asking them to split the line since there are appointments and walk-ins (I was a walk in). So I sign in and wait for about 20 minutes, I overhear them saying their online system is down (my DR. only submits my labs online) so I went up to the rude lady and asked her if the system was gonna up anytime today, she rudely tells me "you can go to the quest in Duarte since their system is up". By this time I had wasted almost an hour there. I did end up going to the quest in Arcadia where I had to wait another hour. It pays to get up early I got there early with my son and was out in 15 minutes on other people can't expect to just show up and get your blood work done you need to plan ahead. The place fills up quickly. Staff were courteous and the place was clean with lots of seats inside. read more

Came in for an 8:15 AM appointment to have my blood drawn. Arrived at 8:05, was seen by 8:20, and out the door by 8:28. If you can, go in with an appointment instead of doing a walk-in. Even though I arrived shortly after the office opened, there was a steady stream of incoming patients. I imagine it would get even more crowded later. I made an appointment online for 8:30 AM on a Tuesday, checked in at 8:25 AM, got called within 5 minutes despite the waiting room packed with people (assuming most of them were walk ins?). The lady taking my blood introduced herself and was friendly and personable! I had blood drawn and a urine sample and I was out of the door by 8:50am. Since the location is very convinient for me, and the parking is plenty, I kept giving a try until today. - Staff are rude (their attitudes make you feel like you are begging for the services for free) - Information is inaccurate (reception keeps saying i have to pay for it because its not part of the regular services??? but whatever, i know insurance will cover) - The nurse or technician are not patient, it hurted so bad after each time they poked (i have been servied by 2 technicians, one is caucasian lady with blonde hair, and one is spanish speaker) - The wait is forever if you don't have an appointment, they keep saying i'm next since i'm the first one on the non-appointment list, but after an hour, I left. I just wanted to clarify they will serve all appointment patients first, or will squeeze in once in a while a non-appointment patient, because otherwise, appointment patients keep coming in, and with their slow services, they won't get to any non-appointment and there's no point to wait for 1-2 hours and get nothing done. They thought I want to cut the line and said blah blah... give up on them. I just go to another lab with better services and correct information. read more

Careful, they will overcharge if you don't pay attention. I thought my insurance paid for every service but the employees at Quest told me that it didn't. Wanting to finish my lab work in a hurry, I gave them my card and thought nothing of it. Then I saw my insurance bill, my insurance covered EVERYTHING. What the hell are these employees doing?
