Walked into this facility which is APPT ONLY. I signed in via the kiosk and the wait room was a bit busy. However, the registration desk/lab techs were nice, courteous, and very helpful. They even helped a customer who didn't have their shx together coupled w a language barrier. That was above and beyond in any lab or outpatient facility. Arlene is the BEST! She took my blood and I felt nothing. It is incredibly difficult for me to get my blood drawn. I need to be lying down with a cold compress on my forehead. I will even get nauseous. When Arlene took my blood, I felt nothing. I didn't even feel the needle go in. I thought we were just talking. When I realized she was taking the blood, she was done! I asked the phlebotomist, Raymond, if he had a butterfly needle (it's the smallest type for difficult veins and I was advised by another phlebotomist to let whoever is working on me know that I need this). He was walking away as I said it and when he came back, he didn't acknowledge my question. I placed my arm on the rest and he asked, "What's this?" I had applied Lidocaine (numbing cream) with Tegaderm (medical dressing to keep the cream in place) to numb the area before my appointment. I said "It's Lidocaine, I typically have issues with my veins." He seemed annoyed and tried to pick at the edges, pinching around at different spots quickly. I offered to do it since it seemed difficult with the gloves he had on. Raymond said "I'll do it" and abruptly yanked at the center of the Tegaderm and tore it off, it was startling. Referring to the Lidocaine, he said "You know these things don't work right?" I started to respond but he immediately cut me off with "Why don't you let me do this and look over there and I'll tell you when I'm done." I mentioned again, "Butterfly needles usually work better on me." He seemed to take this personally like I didn't think he could do his job and seemed annoyed again and said "Do you know how long I have been doing this?"I was surprised at how he was talking to me and stayed quiet. He did the draw and said, "Do you see this here?" as he pointed the redness from removing the Tegaderm. I said "Well, it's worth it because I've learned that if I apply the Lidocaine 2 hours ahead, it works for me." He scoffed. The realization that my skin was red was because he tore off the Tegaderm was delayed because I was in shock at my experience. I have used Tegaderm many times before for lab work, no other medical staff has ever torn it off in that way. They always carefully remove it, so my skin has never gotten red afterwards. What Raymond doesn't know and didn't bother to know is that I have had severe health issues for 12 years. I have had over 80 sessions of chemotherapy, plus scans and bloodwork - almost all of these entail getting access to my veins. I have experimented with the numbing cream to find out what works. Those trying to access my veins have needed the use of ultrasound machines to find my veins. This is one of the most disappointing experiences I've had medically. No one should be treated like this. My partner took me to the appointment and asked if I wanted him to come in with me. I didn't think it was necessary, so I said no, but in hindsight, I don't think Raymond would have been that disrespectful if someone else were there. When I first walked into the lobby, it was full. All of the seats were taken and several people standing. Raymond was making an announcement not to come up and ask about wait times, that it would delay the receptionists checking patients in. And that if we had questions, to ask him. One of the two check-in kiosks were out of order. One of the people waiting said that their appointment was at 11:45am and their spouse or whoever just got called in at 12:30pm. It's reasonable that people want to know how long the wait is going to be. The TV overhead has 1/4 section showing the wait list of who is a walk-in and who has appointments, with no indicator as how long the delay times are. One man without an appointment had been waiting since 8 something that morning, I felt bad for him. He was struggling to walk with his cane and seemed defeated, which is no surprise, seeing as it had been 4+ hours for him. It baffles me that some companies continually put the bottom line ahead of people. I hope that everyone who contributes to this sort of work culture is put into a position to see how disheartening and de-humanizing these sort of experiences are. Maybe then, there would be change. More and more, LabCorp testing locations are short-staffed, the workers are stretched thin, overworked and just plain burnt out. But that does not excuse rudeness and disrespect. read more

Not that many chairs in the lobby but it's clean, not gross. For the blood drawing process, I wasn't a fan because of the draw location. I wanted to leave a huge thank you to Arlene and Christina at Labcorp for taking such wonderful care of my pre-teen daughters during their very first blood draw yesterday. We had to come in as walk-ins for pediatrician-ordered allergy testing since scheduled appointments were booked out a month. Even though the posted wait time was over 2.5 hours, we were pleasantly surprised to be called in just an hour. Waiting can be tough on kids-and it would be amazing if Labcorp ever considered a priority lane for children to help minimize building nerves, but Arlene was so warm, friendly, and reassuring at check-in. She clearly understood how stressful long waits and first-time blood draws can be for young kids, which immediately helped put us at ease. Christina handled the blood draws for both girls and was absolutely phenomenal. She talked them through the process, kept them calm, and made what could have been a scary first experience completely stress-free. She was so thoughtful-she even let them pick out their own bandage colors and sweetly asked if they wanted stickers or if they felt too old for them (which was perfect, as they actually keep a sticker book!). TLDR: make an appointment and verify during the check-in that you select whether or not you have an appoint. I had an appointment for 8am and arrived at 730. It was for blood work. I tried checking in via mobile but their systems were down. I signed in. I wrote my check in time and I wrote the time for my appointment as well as indicate what word needed to be done (blood). I knew they were behind, so i didnt say much except letting the rest of the patients know to check in manually. As 8:45 arrived, i asked why i got skipped if i had an appointment scheduled for 8. They told me I didnt indicate the bubble that said something about having an appointment. And why i didnt say anything sooner. I thought what i wrote down was enough, but they just highlighted my name and didnt even call me to verify anything. The staff was nice, a little overwhelmed due to the system being down and the guests yelling at them, but i was able to get my blood work done and they did apologize and thanked me for being patient. This was the second labcorp I went to today. The first one on Cesar was PACKED. Having difficulty parking should have been an indicator. I didn't even make it in the door. This location, on Fremont, was equally busy but a much smaller site with lots of easy parking. I checked myself in using the kiosk. It asked me for my phone number to be notified when it was my turn. I left for about 20 minutes walking outside. When I returned they called me. i tried to wait outside but was told unless I'm inside i won't hear then call me. So i waited inside The tech who helped me made more conversation with Maria her coworker and the patient MARIA was helping. My tech was Blanca. All the patients in the waiting room were basically walk-ins with an expected wait time of 2 hours but were being called back within the hour in between appointment patients. Once taken back you wait little to nothing. The staff is professional and courteous. The lab draw went by quick and she explain throughly, providing top notch care at a really busy time. I ended up leaving not even an hour after I had arrived and checked in for 2 different labs and all other people waiting before me were gone too. Extremely unorganized. No one ever answers the phone on their 888 number. I arrived at 8 a.m. and was told there would be a 3.5-hour wait. You have to sign in using the computers on the right (not at the front desk ) or the staff will be rude about it instead of offering help. There aren't enough chairs for the number of people waiting, which makes it especially hard for elderly visitors. I ended up not waiting at all. The whole experience was so discouraging that I decided to leave without getting my bloodwork done. After finally getting through to someone on the phone, I was told there are no appointments available until next year. Next time, I'm going straight to the ER where I can get comprehensive care instead of being sent from urgent care to this lab. read more

Labcorp used to have a location in San Gabriel (330 W Las Tunas Dr Ste 2), but they moved to this new location in 2023. The new lab is located right next to Kohl's in Alhambra and has a smaller waiting area than the Arcadia (622 W Duarte Rd #303) location. I initially visited Sun Clinical Laboratories and they did not accept my test order because (1) my test order was more than 6 months and (2) I recently switched to a new insurance during the 2024 open enrollment & Sun Clinical Laboratories is not a part of the Cigna network. I had to do a quick search and Cigna works with two of the largest national laboratories - Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) and Quest Diagnostics, Inc. (Quest). [Appointment]: Right after I was turned down by Sun Clinical Laboratories, I got extremely lucky and was able to make a same-day appointment at this location. I scheduled 10:30 AM appointments at 9 AM and came here at 10 AM (mobile check-in is available as early as 30 minutes before the appointment time). I ultimately waited 45 minutes until my name was called at 10:45 AM. If possible, please try to set up an appointment on the website 2 weeks ahead of time. Yes Labcorp accepts walk in, but visitors with no appointment can expect to wait for 2+ hours. I overheard a conversation and the staff said the best time to schedule is Friday, but even Friday can be a hit-and-miss. [Amenities]: No restroom in the waiting area and visitors will need to ask the staff to access restroom inside of the blood-drawing area. Check-in is pretty standard as visitors use the self check-in kiosk and the staff will call each visitor's name for additional follow-ups. While the blood drawing experience was efficient and completed in one attempt, my phlebotomist this time wasn't as skillful as previous Labcorp phlebotomists and I certainly felt a sharp pain (still manageable) during the blood draw. More convenient location and bigger space than the old Las Tunas location, but I certainly missed my painless blood draw experience from Sun Clinical Laboratories in Rosemead. read more

I visit the lab at Hillcrest South Tulsa and have been for over 5yrs. I am not sure when they acquiredthis lab but can say wait Wait times and the overall visit experience have become extremely frustrating. It used to be simple check in, exchange a few pleasantries, get your blood drawn, and be on your way. Now there's a kiosk, and more often than not, other patients (frequently seniors) can't figure out how to use it. So you end up helping them check in, then checking yourself in, and possibly helping even more people essentially doing a receptionist's job without being paid. The last time I visited, I waited over an hour and ultimately had to leave because I ran out of time. This has happened repeatedly since the location switched to LabCorp. The phlebotomists are being stretched thin, juggling check-ins, blood draws, and what appears to be payment processing all at once. It's an unreasonable workload for anyone. This is exactly why wait times have become so excessive. These companies are cutting costs by piling more responsibilities onto existing staff, and it's affecting both the employees and the patients. A phlebotomist is not a receptionist. Please hire dedicated front desk staff at this location to streamline the process the current situation is simply unacceptable. read more
