No wait on a Tuesday afternoon around 4pm. I was in and out pretty quickly. The nurse who took my blood was very quick.

I would've put 1 star because in the morning and right after lunch, you can wait almost 2 hours. The waiting room itself isn't clean, the bathrooms are worse and the front desk staff aren't the kindest. There was 1 odd experience where the front desk staff asked me to pay $10 cash (no one else was there) for my blood draw, when I NEVER paid before or after that 1 scenario. My insurance didn't change either so it seemed a bit weird... The staff that draws blood are usually kind, patient (even if there's a lot of people) and are efficient. I saw a lot of bad reviews but my experience was actually great. I went in around 3:30 on a Wednesday and was in and out in 15 minutes or less. The process was quick and painless and the staff was really friendly. They got it on the first try, so I didn't have to be poked multiple times. Well I needed to get my blood test so I swung by Sun labs to get it done. It was a quick and easy process as they had their own bathroom to liquify a small container and then I was quickly called in to draw five bikes of blood. The technician stated she saw a vein maybe from her angle on my left arm but I told her I think my vein on my right arm is better but she decided my left arm was where she'd get my bloodwork. After poking me it hurt slightly and blood slowly dripped out for the first vile but by the time she went to the second nothing came out and she was moving the needle around. I was like asking her if she should be doing that and she said it was fine and asked if I was hydrated. I confirmed by stating I had drank 500mL of water prior to seeing my Doctor. A supervisor came and she told her staff to try a second vile and claiming that possibly the vile was defective but again just a little blood came out. So she said let's try your right arm. What got me thinking afterwards was they used the same needle from my left arm to my right arm. I guess same body but shouldn't they use all brand new equipment? I don't know but I had plenty of blood spewing out of my right arm. My doctor sent me here to get blood work and I was terrified to go here because of all the negative reviews, however I must've gone at a good time/day because it was empty. I arrived on a Thursday afternoon at 1:15pm and I was out by 1:23pm. The front desk took my paperwork, had me take a seat and wait to be called in, 1 minute later the nurse took me in to get the blood work done, no pain, no issues, didn't feel a thing! Over the last several years, I've had many doctor's appointments at the Garfield Health Center and this lab is on the same floor. Thus, if you need labs, it's convenient to walk over to Sun Clinical after you finish with the doctor. The check-in policy has changed the last two times I've been to this location. Now, you take a number and when they will call your number, that's when they will process your paperwork, ID, and insurance. After they check you in, they put your paperwork at the end of the line, so they call people in order that they finished their paperwork. The technician will call you by name and take you back. It's very crowded in the mornings (maybe afternoons too) here and that's why people probably get upset. Yes, the staff could be a little friendlier or nicer, but they do a good job of helping a lot of patients as quickly as possible. That's why I give them 3.25 stars. They are trying and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. It would probably help if they post a sign that says take a number and we'll review your paperwork when we call the number. I think this system is better than having a long line at the front counter, which is what is used to be (first come first served at the counter). Overall, I know they are trying their best, so be nice to them and hopefully they will do a better job for you. The parking lot is a hot mess! Not enough spaces for the large building. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING..... I don't think I've even been this annoyed, irritated, disgusted, and provoked by a medical facility before.... If you don't speak the language, good luck. I went in and had NO idea what to do. There were people standing EVERYWHERE including the hallways. Signs? They aren't visible unless you're looking behind the people waiting. The sad excuse for a reception desk had two I want to say nurses calling out numbers and answering phones. The least they could do is attempt to be friendly and say take a number not yell at someone in Chinese. After being told in both Chinese and in English (which by the way was extremely demeaning "You take a number and wait" spoken to me TWICE so fucking slowly like I couldn't understand), I took a number and stood outside the sardine can of a lobby. Urine sample cups are asked to be left inside a small basket in the corner of the RECEPTION ledge. I swear after this incident I'm driving my ass to another location regardless of distance. Side Note: Avoid the restroom. It's a fucking health hazard with wet floors, no soap, no paper towels, and a sign that reads "please keep clean"..... Why bother with the sign... read more

DO NOT COME HERE. You will not feel safe or have your safety considered for during the pandemic. People are all crowded into a room. There are people sneezing and coughing repeatedly, people standing so close to you that you can hear them breathe. I don't care you if have a mask on, if I can hear you breathe you are too close and it's not working. They don't instruct the coughing or sneezing patients to leave. It's impossible to communicate with the front desk. They do not care and are doing nothing to make sure it safe and limit spread of possible COVID. read more

When I received a bill in the mail from Sun Clinical Laboratory - a place I'd never been to or heard of - I thought it was a scam. In November 2021, I had routine blood work done at a local doctor's office. Without my knowledge, it was outsourced to Sun Labs. I was first contacted by Sun Labs in February 2022, three months after my lab work. I received a surprise bill in the mail notifying me that not only did I owe them money, but that my account was past due. I was confused, as I paid hundreds of dollars in fees at the doctor's office, and I was suspicious, as, again, I had never been to or heard of Sun Labs. In May 2022 - six months after my lab work - I received another notification notifying me that my account was, this time, severely past due and would be sent to collections if not paid. Of the five times I called to inquire about this charge, I was told the billing person was out twice, sent to voicemail once, and redirected to my doctor's office. On the fifth time, I finally spoke with the billing person, who continuously excused the poor communication from start to finish. tl;dr - poor communication makes for unhappy customers read more

The whole office is DIRTY, they didn't offer hand sanitizer and no social distance requirement. Plus the bathroom is rwally dirty, the floor is wet and the roller paper roll was wet with the liquid you don't know?? Also there is no handtowl... If your copy is under $20 they will charge you $1 fee to use cards,, and yhere is no sign about the card fee. I've been to different locations and none of one requests for it. The nurse should go back to get training as well, she was not willing to try to find the vessel until I told her to try harder and she found it immediately..... Got there at 7:15am and there was a line like 6 people in front of me . They open this staircase door at 7:45 ish and you go up the flight up stairs and wait up stairs business door to the lab is at 8am . I was provided a number wait and sit , they call you . Process your paperwork and you do your lab stuff etc . I was out by 8:25an had to get blood work and provide a urine sample . I had a stool sample needed as well and they didn't let me use the bathroom there for that so i had to either come back another time to drop it off or use the restroom at a public space. U had to drive a mile to use the McDonald's. Only downfall . Be aware it's mostly all Asians. I had good customer service and language barrier wasn't an issue . read more

Came here during covid. Super unsanitary and crowded. The waiting area is extremely small so social distancing is difficult to enforce. People were coughing. The only bathroom is a total mess. If I could, they'd get zero stars. I had the worst service ever. I got there at 730 and waited. Because there were so many people, I was number 30, which was fine. However, around 810, I asked if I could use the restroom. One of the receptionists checked my lab papers and asked me to wait cause I had to do a urine analysis. So I said okay. But around 830, I really had to go and couldn't hold it in any longer since I had been holding it for so long. When I asked to use the restroom again, they asked me to wait a little longer. I asked them if I could take the cup and that I'd even hold it with me. When she proceeded to ask the other receptionist, she yelled and told me to wait my turn. When I was finally called, my blood was taken before I was able to use the restroom. Though, that is now besides the point. When the nurse took my blood, she poked me once, but prodded me everywhere inside my arm. My arm began turning pale blue and was completely numb. They should have a sign on the door saying that! Anyhow, giving this place one star. Even though my wait wasn't long, unlike the last time I was at one of the Alhambra offices, I waited 90+ minutes, the lady in the front locked the door 15 minutes prior to their 5:00 closing. Someone had just stuck her foot in the door, so she was allowed in. But at 4:50, when I was leaving, there was someone at the door trying to get in. Hey, I understand the staff wants to be out by 5, but it's not right to close before then. Just saying, I'd be upset to arrive before their closing time and not be able to be serviced. I called this place before I showed up because another Sun Clinical Lab was closed down the street. The person who answered the phone sounded nice and answered my questions. Shortly after, I came to get my blood drawn here and I had a decent experience. It wasn't crowded at all, and they seem to be following covid precautions alright. They only allowed 1 person in at a time to do paperwork and draw blood. The person who took my information down when I showed up to the front desk was cordial and she also drew my blood. Yeah, the lab looks quite outdated and isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, but what do you expect ? The building itself is quite old and outdated. Cleanliness seemed okay to me. Like many others, I do not recommend this place to do your blood and urine sample. This place is ABSOLUTELY disorganised and disgusting! I couldn't believe it was a lab. Check-In: You check in my grabbing a dirty paper with a number (i.e. 1, 2, etc ). The receptionist there was useless because she didn't tell me to grab a paper and I waited 10 minutes till I realise that. She didn't check my documents and just told me to wait till my number was called. Waiting room: It was really crowded and a mess because there were papers on the floors and not enough seats. Restroom: When they told me to do the urine sample in the restroom, I wanted to puke. Not because of the urine sample but my how disgusting the restroom was. There was urine on the floor and on the toilet seats. Trash can filled to the brim that toilet paper topple out. There was no toilet seat paper covers and no soap. To add on, the restroom stink so badly. I don't even know how I was able to get my urine sample done with is disaster. Never want to come back again. *bonus: Once done, you put your urine sample in a clear box on top of the receptionist counter. This was beyond nasty and very unhygienic. Blood withdrawal: They called me in and withdraw my blood with ease. This was the only thing I don't have a complaint for because I didn't bruise and it didn't hurt that much. She accused me of returning mail from post office when I questioned why Sun Clinical never sent me anything. Come to find out, I'm not the only one that feels there's something suspicious with their billing. I just received a call today from collections for a bill I wasn't even aware of and this is dated back in 2016. I'm pretty up to date with all my bills. It's now 2018 and I'm sent to collections??? Well the office needs a major remodel. Some of the other offices in this building are remodeled and up to date. While this office is not. The restroom is dirty and not well kept. As I came to check in at the counter they have a tray with no sign where the patients put their urine sample on it. I was about to drop the tray and that's when I saw someone's urine sample. Worst customer service I have ever experienced tried to contact their supervisor Michelle several times she was always running a little late or on lunch. Labs were drawn on the 29th of February it's now the 18th of March blood expired for failure of them to process due to their inability to verify insurance on their end. Spoke with them over 15 times in 2 weeks with no results spoke with insurance and physician who deemed labs as urgent 15 days ago which is why they were ordered. Medication that literally keeps me alive is based on these lab values. Their lack of effenicency and disregard for follow up has compromised my health and well being. I'm am reporting them to all governing boards for investigation and verification of their process and failure to comply with the physician order. Stay away from this place.... read more

The service I received from Sun Clinical lab was fine. My review was mainly for their billing team. I receive bill that had an open balance, so I called today, spoke to a lady in the billing department, and gave her my credit card info to pay off my balance. Due to reimbursement from my company HSA, at the end of the call, I was asking for a receipt in either email, paper in house mail, or even text. The lady told me that she can only read me a credit card confirmation number from my payment which is useless to my HSA reimbursement. At the end, she said she will mail me an balance invoice which shown my today payment plus the zero balance. I would not enter this poor review if I did not hear what this lady told me next, "we usually do not send this update balance bill out but I did you a flavor on doing this".
