Needed to get bloodwork done and decided to give this location a shot. When I arrived, there was a line of people standing outside. There are some seats inside, but for some reason they had everyone stay out in the sun. Each patient had to sign in and get a number. The employees here seemed unprofessional. They were very adamant about going in order of the numbers. For one of the numbers they called out, no one was showing up. Instead of moving on to the next number, the employees spent almost ten minutes taking turns screaming the number and the person's name who disappeared. They laughed and thought it was funny, as they wasted our time. So they did this for like ten minutes when they could have been helping out other patients instead. When it was finally my turn to get blood drawn, I was seated in a small room with another patient. The seats were placed so that we faced each other. It was really weird watching each other get blood drawn. I am used to having more privacy for blood tests. To make things worse, their restroom was out of service. So every patient was given a urine sample cup and told to come back with it another time. Spent over an hour at this place just for bloodwork. It should have been no more than thirty minutes. Next time I would stick with another location that is more clean, organized, and professional.

    very Painful

The first time she pricked me with a large needle, it hurt a lot and no blood came out. I've never seen such a nurse before. I asked if she could be replaced, but she refused and continued to prick my other hand. Her technique was bad and her attitude was even worse. I don't recommend going there

This blood drawing station used to be the best Sun Clinical Laboratories out of 10+ other locations before the pandemic and it is still the best one when it comes to painless blood drawing experience, BUT one of the biggest drawback now is that this location has been transformed into a testing site for COVID-19 PCR nasal swab and COVID-19 antibody tests. As a result, the waiting time extended from a typical less than 10-minute wait (pre-COVID) to one-hour wait time (post-COVID) because this location does not have a separate wait line for routine blood draws vs COVID-19 antibody blood draws. [COVID tests]: COVID-19 PCR ($175) and COVID antibody IGM tests ($75) are required for anyone who's planning to fly to China. An additional COVID-19 antibody IGM N-protein ($275 = three tests) is also needed for travelers who received the COVID-19 vaccine in the US within the last 2 months. Most international flights require at least one COVID-19 PCR test. Same-day result will be available at 6 PM (or 8 PM on Saturday) if you come before 12 PM; otherwise afternoon results can be picked up next day after 9 AM. No appointment is needed and please bring your passport. [Check-in]: There are two check-in stations - one for COVID-19 PCR nasal swab (the white tent on the curb) and another one (the white tent closer to the front entrance) for blood draws. I signed in at 8:30 AM, wrote time of arrival, grabbed a number, waited 45 minutes before someone called my number, waited another 15 minutes, and finally had my blood draw. [Execution]: Apparently there was a typo on the gender info on doctor's order (wrote female instead of male), but the staff was professional and proceeded with my blood draw without any logistical hiccup. Blood draw was painless and I barely felt anything. I may consider visiting the other location in San Gabriel Medical Plaza due to unnecessary long wait at this El Monte location, but I still give a solid 4-star due to how good their phlebotomists are and fairly friendly service.

My Mom needed to get some lab work done for her annual checkup recently. We came here to Sun Clinical Labs in El Monte to drop off some samples. When we first arrived, there were already some people in front of us. The staff appeared to be scrambling around to get people checked-in and attended to. My Mom and I waited patiently in line. When more people came in, the staff attended to them before us. That didn't seem right to me so I quickly got one of the staff's attention and kindly insisted they help us since we were here first. It was chaos to say the least. Anyway, finally one of the ladies got our paperwork and started processing my Mom's order. Yeah, they were not very organized. I'm sure they were doing their best, but they really need to form a better system to get people checked-in in an orderly fashion. Hopefully, we'll have better experience next year.

I actually called the office to make sure I wouldn't get lost, and the receptionist who answered was incredibly sweet and reassuring. She even tried to help guide me to the right place. The office is located on the third floor in Suite 303. Once you walk in, you simply check in if you have an appointment and then take a seat. I waited about 15 minutes before being called, which wasn't bad. The person who did my blood work was very kind and gentle. The facility itself is quite cold, so I recommend bringing a jacket. Other than that, the whole process was smooth and easy, and my results came back within a day. I really appreciate that you can check your results online and that they provide clear explanations for each value with a color-coded sliding scale--it makes everything very easy to understand. There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This place is open and available with limited capacity. They are sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big; however, the lot is often full very quickly. Each parking spot size varies. Some are smaller than others, so be careful where you park. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, organized, and tidy. I highly recommend booking an appointment online and submitting your insurance stuff online. Then check in via the tablets in the waiting area or via your cellphone. Otherwise, you will have to submit all your insurance stuff on the day of your appointment and it can be kinda annoying. Just an FYI, Do NOT do walk ins. My phlebotomist told me that some people who walked in there without an appointment at 6AM are still there waiting to be called because they prioritize people who made appointments first. My appointment was scheduled for 10:40AM. So people who walked in at 6AM had been waiting for 4 hours already. That's crazy! Btw, even with my 10:40AM appointment time, I still waited an extra 20 minutes before being seen. That is how busy they are. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, professional, and compassionate. I witnessed a little boy being very scared, and his phlebotomist was so caring, gentle, kind, understanding, and compassionate towards him. How cute! My phlebotomist was very chill, funny, and great at her job. I barely felt the needle going in. Bathrooms are pretty clean. They clean and disinfect the bathroom very often.

Multiple people in the waiting room were complaining about how long they were waiting, how the Arcadia Quest used to be much faster, etc. After waiting in stand-by for an hour, I and another person were told that we would not be able to come in as standby, without an appointment. With only 10 minutes left to the day, staff stated that there were still two appointments they were waiting on and wouldn't take us, even though those people were not present. Since COVID, Quest has used this online appointment system which makes things so difficult for multiple patients and seems inefficient to the actual work of getting blood tests done during the work window.
