Every time I come here there is always some sort of issue with getting your blood drawn. Most of the time it has to do with whether they take walk ins or if you need an appointment. If they do take walk-ins then when they take them is another wild card variable. It is a moving target. Today it was we don't take walk-ins on Fridays. I specifically checked the website before coming here to verify they take walk-ins and if so what days and times. There was nothing saying they don't take walk-ins on Fridays. I don't know if all locations are as poorly managed as this one or if it is a company wide problem. I don't know if all locations are as poorly ran as this one. This place is always so chaotic. It's usually busy and the techs always seem to be flustered/confused. While they're friendly, and I enjoy chatting with them, I would not recommend this place. It often happens that I spend 20 minutes plus here WITH AN APPOINTMENT (they recently became appointment only). I almost hate to recommend the Whittier location because I don't want it to get crowded. Beyond the wait time and annoyances like always having to request a new lab order, (even though I have a standing lab order because I get the same tests done every month) the place is convenient because it's five minutes from my home. Parking is typically tight and street parking it tough because it's near residences. I highly suggest you make an appointment here and come prepared to spend some time and get a headache here. On labcorp website it says appointment is recommended however this location is actually appointment required. What a waste of time. If you have a family member with a language barrier or just from an older generation, make sure you schedule an appointment for them on their website and come with them. The front desk staff is not patient or friendly at all to those with tech illiteracy. First of all, the stress of COVID precautions means only 7 patients are allowed at a time in the waiting room. Which is not a bad thing, but it creates a waiting system especially for those without an appointment. Personally, I did not have any problem checking in or waiting to be seen. It was smooth sailing for me. But it really bothers me when our elders and those with a language barrier are treated as second class citizens when the people working there obviously also speak Spanish too, proven because I heard them speak it. I tried calling in and no one answered (the number listed online is not for the direct office ) and there were no appointments online until three weeks out. I never thought I would say this but I love this place and staff is always nice. They never have a problem finding a vein on my son and staff in hospitals always struggled. The process is fast, you are in and out. I love that you can check in on the tablet by scanning the barcode confirmation on your phone. I always make an appointment but have also been there last minute without appointment and most I have waited is 10-15 minutes in a full waiting area. Parking is easy, I park in the back right in front of the glass doors. There is another LabCorp closer to my house but I have been coming here... been 15+ years, it's worth it. I'm honestly being generous with a 3 star review and I'm only doing that because the phlebotomist that helped me at the end and drew my blood was sweet, helpful and I felt absolutely no pain when she withdrew blood. They lost 2 stars because of the first lazy female that acted like she didn't know how to get my insurance information. I didn't have my insurance card because I had just made changes to my insurance and had not received my new card yet. I told her this and she tells me she couldn't help me without my card. I mentioned to her that "Quest" would look it up using my name, DOB, and SSN. I also asked aren't you able to call and get the information you need? She tells me, "I wouldn't know who to call". Seriously??? I'm POSITIVE they deal with insurance ALL DAY LONG EVERYDAY!! Mind you I had my ID number. What she said she needed was my group #. Ok whatever I'll do your job for you since you're lazy. I call my insurance get the group # hang up. I give this female what she needed and she looks at me like I'm crazy and says,"Ummmm I need the group name " WTH!!! YOU SAID GROUP NUMBER and I even repeated it and you said yes group #!! So now I'm really irritated!! I had her write down everything SHE NEEDED TO HELP ME without having to make more unnecessary calls. I call my insurance back and once I was on the phone for the second call the other female finished helping me. Which I'm glad she stepped in because the other Spanish looking female with glasses is FREAKING LAZY! I didn't catch the name of the one that ended up helping me at the end but she was tall really pretty with blonde hair. They lacked particular needles required for our blood work and failed to notify us that the draw couldn't be performed that day so we showed up and time wasted. Horrible service. No help is offered. People pointed towards a machine and are told to register. They are provide no tech assistance to register. My parents (78 and 67yrs old) had to ask another patient for help. My mom witnessed 4 other patients be turned away after waiting for over an hour because they didn't understand or know how to register correctly. Apparently walk in are strictly only received between 7-8am if you register any time after 8am you will be turned away, but NO ONE comes out to announce this so people are left to wait and wonder for over an hour until they are told they did something wrong and must come back. People are sitting there hungry and or with urgencies to urinate only to be turned away. These are mostly elderly patients... this lab need to come up with a better way more user friendly way to register for the elderly, non tech savvy, and those who can't read. For people to wait an hour not knowing what to expect means that NO ONE comes out or offers help for over an hour. That is unacceptable. Here is a solution LabCorp if you think of responding with we are low staffed have the staff that called out for the next patient to remind waiting patients of the expectations then they wouldn't have to wait until there name is called an hour later and be turned away. read more

Unbelievable! Came here after booking an appt. They could not find the order which was sent electronically and according to the doctors office they confirmed receipt a few days ago. Had to wait longer than necessary. But the worst part was what I witnessed. The staff seemed to have forgotten how to have compassion for people receiving their services. I imagine a standing blood test is a sign that someone is ill. But, this didn't stop the staff for continually disrespecting a patient and basically walked away from him saying "I'm tired of this abuse." Lack of compassion and poor customer service at a place like this really disappoints me. I'm going back to Quest. Never again to Lab Corp. so yes, young lady, we do have choices (she told the patient this) and I hope someday when you are in need of service due to an illness that no one will treat you the way you treat your client. read more

I am upset with them because they ask you to 'check in' with a computer on the wall, by placing your medical card in a tray. I don't EVER carry my Medicare card but rather a copy of it, which they should already have in their computer. All OLDER people have a trouble with this danged machine and it hold us up in line. Four people came in after me, but because they were more "computer literate", I had to wait longer than they did. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL to make demands of people who don't know how to use these danged machines. THEN, they did NOT give me the proper test, and NOW I have to return to do it all over again! If they had listened to me verbally, I could have told them what my doctor required! REALLY UPSETTING. read more

So I'm back because they forgot one of the tests from my original order and they gave 2 sets of results for the ones they did complete. They now have kiosks which work well at Quest but clearly aren't a good idea for this location. The girl at the front with glasses and short hair was very rude and was too lazy to help the patients who struggled with it. One man asked what they do if they have a blind patient to which she replied "well we would help blind people or elderly if they need help". He answered back, "well I've been asking and you won't help". Her response? "Well you haven't really asked for help." At that point he had already asked 3 questions within 5 minutes clearly demonstrating he was struggling. Did she get up at that point to assist? Nope! She still had to ask "well do you need assistance?" She definitely shouldn't be working the front if she doesn't know how to deal with people. People getting blood work are ill most of the time and don't need to be made to feel stupid on top of what they are already dealing with. read more

I've came to this place a total of 3 times now, the first time I came for my child. Each time they were friendly and very compassionate. The do everything fast and they're very professional about it.. The 2nd and 3rd time I came it was for me, and even though my doctor messed up my requisition form twice the staff in this office didn't act rude or different. They were still very friendly. Today I was able to get my blood drawn, and the staff was very attentive, my blood draw was very quick. I was in and out of the office in less than 10 minutes. I will recommend this office to everyone I know when they need work done! :) (and no I wasn't bribed to leave this review) there is a private parking lot with plenty of parking!
