My experience at this Quest location was great. I easily booked a same-day appointment online on the Quest website. They had plenty of times available which was nice. Once I got to the lab, the reception area was empty. Guess I went at a good time! They have a kiosk for you to self check-in to your appointment but the phlebotomist, Lauren, was expecting me and brought me in before I even had time to check in. Very nice! Lauren was very friendly, professional, and efficient while drawing my blood. She made the whole process feel easy and effortless which was very much appreciated. I was in and out within 10 minutes! I know this won't be everyone's experience as I was lucky to get in during a slow time. However, for my visit, I really appreciated the ease of making an appointment, Lauren's friendliness, and the promptness with which I was attended. I arrived late for my 3:10 PM appointment, but when I got there at 3:20 PM, the door was already locked. I knocked multiple times and no one bothered to answer. What's especially frustrating is that their posted hours are until 3:30 PM, and they even had a 3:20 PM appointment slot available. I completely understand wanting to wrap up at the end of the day, but if you're open until 3:30 PM and accepting appointments at 3:20 PM, you should actually be open and available during that time. It really felt like the staff simply didn't want to do the work and decided to close up early. If you don't want to serve patients until your posted closing time, then don't offer appointments that late. Very disappointing and unprofessional. read more

I came here for a standard blood test last year. Their website is terrible, it doesn't allow you to book appointments online. However, the website did say that walk ins are welcome. I called their number and it directed me to their website for appointments. The hotline again, did tell me that walk ins are welcome. So I finally decided to head to this location. As I open the door, I see there's a sign taped to it saying walk ins are welcome. I wait at the counter and the nurse comes to ask if I have an appointment, I tell her no and that I tried the website and phone number with no luck. She immediately gives me attitude and says that they generally don't accept walk ins. I explain to her again that it was literally impossible for me to book an appointment because the website and phone number aren't allowing it. The lady takes a big sigh and tells me to come to the back and helps draw some blood. As I was sitting there waiting, I noticed that there's only one other patient there. Why was she giving me so much attitude about not having an appointment when they clearly aren't busy at all? These people do not care about doing their jobs or helping others. read more

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it here if you can help it. The Lead lady is extremely rude and when I had asked for a possibility of a smaller gauge needle, she shot me down immediately and told me that if I have a problem with her, I can go to a different place. When I asked if I can speak to somebody about this because of the way she's treating me she told me that if I don't like it, I can go to another lab because this is the way it is here. She got so mad she basically told me that I can leave. When I said I'll just stay and do lab she basically sent me to someone else. And the other lab person awkwardly drew my lab and basically didn't have me sign anything even though I'm supposed to sign stuff because the other girl has my chart open and he doesn't have any of my information. I am pretty sure that's not conducted right and I'm very concerned about this facility. The guy also inserted the needle after touching the area with his glove finger despise that's not the proper technique to do so as it breaks the clean area that was sanitized with alcohol. I am a phlebotomist so I'm aware of how people can be on both sides. At the end of the day it's their job and if they hate it they should look into working somewhere that they don't have to deal with the public. I made a same-day appointment today. I was worried about parking but it was a breeze - underground level 2 was practically empty! I checked in via the link they texted as I walked up. There were only 2 people waiting and I sat down for less than 5 min, got called in and was outta there in maybe 10 min (also did a urinalysis). So so quick and efficient even though there was only 1 person working at the time. I don't love getting blood drawn but you really only feel the initial prick of the needle and then a little soreness after but again, so quick! read more

I came to this location hoping to make walk in appointment because The website didn't allow me to schedule online!!! there was no appointment time option -- so I had visit in person. When I arrived, the staff (especially one woman Latina ) spoke to me in a dismissive and condescending way. As an Asian woman with an accent, I felt they assumed I didn't understand English, even though I communicated clearly. The tone and attitude were rude and made me feel unwelcome. Patients should be treated with respect regardless of background or accent. I hope management provides training on cultural sensitivity and better communication. DO NOT GO HERE!! No employees to help and they are rude!! This is the worst place ever. Last week I had an appointment for a blood draw. I show up in crutches bc l'd had a procedure, I checked in when I parked my car. Walked over to the tiny office and there was a line at the door. Everyone was in line and they said I had to get in line even though I told them I had already registered and I had an appointment. No one there to ask for help or manage the crowd.I still tried to make my way and got into the waiting room 3 minutes before my appointment time only to realize l'd been kicked out of the queue. A young lady came out I told her my name wasn't on the screen and she said we must have called you name and it deleted your appointment too bad. She was very rude. l asked if I could speak to a supervisor and she said there was no one there to speak to and said too bad. In my crutches I turned around and left. That is the worst customer service ever and I was freaking disabled in crutches. No one to talk to and just dismissed. To the lady who did that, if you hate your job don't work there because the medical industry needs compassion. To the company, how horrible to employ people that treat patients like that when they are there sometimes disabled or looking for answers to ailments and vulnerable to be treated like trash. What an embarrassment and disappointment for a company to treat its customers like that. Shame on you Quest to continue to employ people who treat other humans without dignity!!! Specifically, I had the misfortune of being assisted by an employee, identified by her 222 or 333 wrist tattoo, who exhibited behavior that was not only disrespectful but also discriminatory. My husband and I arrived with my twins to have their blood work done. The employee instructed my husband to bring in my first twin, despite the fact that I was already holding her. When I politely asked if I could go first, she refused, stating, "no, we need him to be able to hold her down." I reiterated that I could handle it, but she insisted that my husband perform the task, offering no other option. I pointed out that this was a sexist decision, as either gender is equally capable of performing the task at hand, and she denied it, dismissing my concerns with, "I'm not being sexist." Her refusal to allow me, a mother, to hold my own child during a necessary procedure was not only insulting but completely unnecessary. After my husband returned, he expressed the same frustration, confirming that there was no reason for her to deny me this right. As a mother of two children, I have more than ample experience holding them and ensuring their safety, and I should never have been made to justify my ability to care for my child. Would she have denied me the same treatment if I was alone? Would she have demanded that a man be present as a requirement for my child's care? Her behavior raises serious questions about her qualifications and professionalism in working with patients and families. this employee's demeanor has been consistently rude in past interactions, not only with me but with others as well. Such behavior is unacceptable, and I strongly believe that she should either undergo further training or be reassigned to a role where she does not interact directly with patients. I want to make it clear that I have also sent a formal complaint to your corporate headquarters regarding this incident, as I believe it is critical that such behavior is addressed at the highest level. Efficiency means little when respect is missing -- my visit exposed behaviors that no patient should face -- An Unnecessarily Disappointing and Undeserving Experience. Customers--especially patients--are entitled to share courteous feedback for improvement, let alone a simple clarification of a physician's lab order. Unfortunately, my recent visit to this Quest Diagnostics location reflected not only a lack of professionalism but also unnecessary hostility that I hope their leadership will address. When I clarified that my lab order included different panels, the technologist assisting me, Lauren, became defensive and repeatedly asked me to restate my comment. After I explained, she bluntly replied that I didn't need to remind her because it was her job. During the blood draw, she appeared visibly unfriendly and gave abrupt, blunt instructions--clearly showing she was not pleased with my clarification. Afterward, I told her, "You did a good job, and you could be more friendly." She immediately replied, "You too should be more friendly. You shouldn't have reminded me of my job," and told me to leave. When I returned from the restroom and asked for her name, she refused at first and again bluntly told me to leave. Karen, from the adjacent room, came out, raised her voice, made inaccurate assumptions, and acted even more aggressively--ordering me to leave as if I were a trespasser and nearly closing the door on my arm. Customer service should never escalate into confrontation. Quest is otherwise a well-run organization--its appointment system is efficient, and I rarely wait long. I commend them for that. But good service is as vital as good systems. Efficiency means little when respect and compassion are missing. I have sent my concern to Quest leadership and await their response. As a patient, we deserve to be heard and updated on how this matter is addressed. I truly hope leadership will act decisively to ensure every patient is treated with professionalism, empathy, and respect. Simple yet serious violations of patient rights, if left unchecked, should warrant attention from the Department of Consumer Affairs. Based on their quick escalation and aggressive reactions and serious concerning reviews from other patients, I truly believe both Lauren and Karen (if they provided correct names) may display this toxic temperament more often with other patients. read more

On behalf of my Mom thank you for the exceptional care and good service at Quest Diagnostics. The office is clean and very peaceful when we walked in. Checking in was very easy and compared to Sun Clinical Laboratories there wasn't any need to wait in line just check in and wait for your name to be called. Walk in was very simple. In less than 30 minutes my Moms name was called and the Mexican Hispanic man gave my Mom the gentle care during her blood drawn. The employees here are very rude and unprofessional I was a bit taken back by their actions. I was a walk in and when I signed up it gave me a time, didn't specify that it was an appointment the screen literally said "earliest time is". There was about 8 other people in the lobby waiting prior to me getting there. After an hour and a half of waiting , I got called in and just asked the employee if she was sure I can go becuase there were others that had checked in before me. She began to raise her voice and said she didn't want to take me anymore, at the same time the other patients waiting began to express their frustrations. The employee then began yelling at them saying she's not going to help them and they can "just sit in the lobby". She then took me to the room to begin the blood draw the proceeded to explain how it's "always the ones on medical, always the unemployed people" and how she "has her license and isn't going to risk it for anyone" which is pretty hypocritical regarding the fact that I who is on medical felt pretty targeted by that comment. Times are hard with money and health especially right now so to hear a health care worker speak like that in front of a patient is pretty disgusting, and disappointing to say the least. I am not sure if we may or may not be talking about the same staff members. In February, I didn't have an appt so I did walk-in and showed my wait time will be 30-45mins, which it was accurate. I waited approximately 30 minutes. I see the girls cleared the room for both appointments and walk-ins within an hour. Today, I had an appointment, arrived 20mins prior. I was in and out within 5mins after check in. There was only 1 person waiting when I arrived. Just want to give pros to the ladies working here on a Saturday, while most locations are closed. I would say they're very good at what they're doing and also good time management. I got two different nurses on these visits and they were both very nice. One negative thing is the tape they put around my arm afterward really kills me while taking it off...it hurts more than getting poked. Haha but at least it doesn't irritate my skin like those crazy good quality bandages. read more

They forgot to test the lipid panel listed on the blood work paper at first. I have high cholesterol and lipid panel is very important. I called the 800 numbers immediately and the customer service sent me to this location to draw blood again . Instead of apologizing, this female technician stationed at the very end of the cubicle refused to draw my blood again due to no paperwork. Again I submitted the paperwork to this location just last week .she gave me this attitude like I'm not listening to her instruction of asking my doctor for another bloodwork paper. When I told her about the customer service, she said that it's none of her business as if she's not working for the same company. came here today for bloodwork and the person that assisted me was quite unprofessional. she needed to withdraw 4 tubes of blood and almost dropped a vial of blood. thank god it landed on my legs in between my thighs. i handed it to her while she was still withdrawing blood and she goes "oops thank you". why on earth would you place the bin where you put the vials on the wobbly part of where the patient would sit/place their arm? makes no sense to me. do not go to this location. read more

Staff members present Fri. May 2, 2025 turned me away when there was no one else present in the waiting room. I was told by a thoroughly masked female staff person that "we do not accept walk-ins after 2 p.m." The Quest website advises that "walk ins are welcome". The door at the facility also says "walk ins are welcome". There is no advice in either case that the welcome extends only to 2 p.m. whereas the facility itself is set to close at 3:30 p.m. (per the hours posted). There was a gleeful triumphant quality to the manner of the masked lady in telling me no. I couldn't help but be struck by how she seemed to enjoy turning away a customer. I see that this resonates with other reviews of this quest location, where people are repeatedly given a firm no to reasonable requests. How is it that there is no management awareness of this pattern? Some people do not belong in a helping profession... If I were a manager, I'd want to monitor how often someone checks into the kiosk but then is never served. I imagine data might reveal a problem at this particular quest location. A reputation for firmly saying no might even account for why the waiting room is perhaps routinely empty. I was stunned by the response to my request for service. I sat in the waiting room, curious to observe what might happen next. A young couple came in, keyed in an entry at the kiosk and seated themselves. I asked them if they had an appointment. No, they said, they were counting on walk-in mode. One of them grew impatient after about 15 minutes of waiting and knocked at the door. No one responded. He sat down for a few minutes more, then he knocked again. The two were still waiting when I left at 3:20 p.m. They were apparently simply being ignored, although the facility had no further traffic. We three had been the only potential customers. So I can only surmise that the staff had decided to shut down early. They were planning to do no further venipuncture that day, possibly before I arrived. How is this good for the reputation or the profitability of Quest? I will ask my doctor for a lab order that is good at a competing operation, after this. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience this morning with the phlebotomist that drew my blood. She was not wearing a name badge. She did not identify herself. After drawing my blood I asked to see my name on the tubes of blood she drew from me. She showed me quickly by passing the tube in front of my face. I asked to see my date of birth on the same tube she said 'you can't see it, it's too small so I touched the tube to bring it closer to me to make sure my info was correct. I proceeded to leave but returned to ask for her name and she adamantly refused to give me her name not only did she refused she threatened to call the 'police' on me just for asking her name. I asked another phlebotomist for the young ladies name and she also refused. My phlebotomist said 'she is not going to give you my name so go ahead and call you lawyer, go ahead'. I am a professional in the medical field. Patient identification is a basic safety measure we use to make sure we have the right patient and avoid mislabeling patient specimens, etc. etc.These measures are put in place to ensure patient safety, but unfortunately this young phlebotomist with an attitude needs to go back to basic training and customer service classes so that she can learn basic patience safety procedures and treat patients with respect and dignity. read more

The WORST unprofessional lab ever! The manager of this lab needs to be fired for cultivating a disgusting, vile working environment. One of the staff who worked there seemed to be hired directly from the streets. This staff was egregiously unprofessional and ready to throw a punch at your face if she could get away with it. This lab closed at 2:30pm and I arrived at 2pm. There were a total of 3 patients waiting and I was the 2nd in line. Then came this young Latina (staff) with tattoos filled arms. She said, they could see patient 1 and 3 but not 2. I asked her why they couldn't draw my blood but could see the patient who came after me. This staff was aggressive and gave me a reason that made no sense. Soon this turned into a shouting match between us. She came up inches to my face and was ready to swing her fist at me. I said, OMG, are you going to hit me? She then back off and realized her behavior could cost her job. Over all, this was my first encountered with a medical facility that ran by thugs. This lab needs to be shut down until professional management takes over. They have no idea what respect and common courtesy mean. Below is an email I sent to Quest Diagnostics CEO: Hello Mr. Davis, Have you read any of the reviews on your lab located in Alhambra California via YELP? Most likely not because their egregious, unprofessional customer service rank one of the poorest but your corporate office is tone deaf on the mounting pile of customers' complaints. Please take action and clean house. The staff at that location lack basic training and have no knowledge what respect, courtesy and empathy mean. Some of the staff you employed at the Alhambra location shouldn't be working in the medical profession at all. It will be a complete shame if hundreds of negative reviews lead to no change or improvement in your staffing at Quest Diagnostics. read more

Brought my mom here for a blood test appointment we made online. They texted us to notify them when we've arrived via phone and to just sit in the waiting room for our name to be called. We waited for 20 minutes and no one called us. I noticed another woman come in and sit then was called right away. I asked one of the staff why we haven't been called yet, even though we've already checked in online and she said she didn't get anything and to check in through the kiosk and wait for our name to be called. The rude worker comes out and she's calling our number and she asks for our information. I let her know and she says we have to check in through the kiosk if we came early.. we came at 11:39 for our 11:40 appointment. Then she asks to see our email and it says 11:40am and she raises her voice and says no we're late because it's 12:02... girl I've literally been saying that we've been waiting here since 11:39????? literal common sense???? I've never dealt with someone so weird about it and rude. How's she going to raise her voice at us basically stating that it's our fault when we've been waiting for our name to be called and she didn't get anything on her end? After debriefing in the car with my mom after this ordeal, we tried to wrap our head around it and we remembered while waiting, they did call my moms name but another women walked in. My mom has a common name so we just brushed it aside. We think they probably called her name but another woman took her place. So what ever happened on their end, they should learn how to deal with situations like this more professionally than blaming others. I needed a blood draw as part of my second trimester screen so I called in to make an appointment. They have an automated system set up for appointments - it was pretty easy. When I got there, I found parking on the ground level, but there's also an underground structure. Walked on over to the store, checked in on the iPad and waited for my name to be called. It was a bit crowded inside for a little store (~6 people in the waiting area)... just FYI. Took about 10 minutes before my name was called - not bad! Now I want to take a minute to go back in time to when little Denise was about 8 or 9 years old. Very thin veins run in my family - my mom and brother have the same issue. I remember like it was yesterday - the nurse at my pediatrician's office had difficulty finding my vein. Took 6 pokes before she was successful. 6 POKES. Ever since, I get anxious during blood draws. doesn't help that I've had similar incidences with multiple pokes in my arm throughout my lifetime. I'm fine with needles such as when getting a vaccine, but I feel dread at the thought of getting my blood drawn. Fast forward to the present. I'm sitting on the chair... feeling apprehension. In walks a very nice lady and she introduces herself. I believe her name was Margarita or Maria? I told her about my small veins and she assures me that she takes her time and doesn't attempt the draw until she finds the vein. And she was right! She was patient and careful and thank goodness she found the vein on the first try. I'm not sure if I can request her the next time I need to come here, but I sure hope I can! read more

Worst blood draw I've ever gotten in my life. I have Hashimoto's and I have to get my blood drawn often. I live in Alhambra, so I thought this location would be convenient but I usually get my blood drawn at the Bellefonte location in Pasadena. The young lady that took my blood couldn't get it the first time on my left arm and fished for my vein (I have great veins), which was extremely painful. Finally, she got it on the right arm. After coming home and waiting a while to take off the gauze and tape, there was so much blood from my left arm and both arms hurt to bend. I will definitely be bruised . I will not be coming back to this location ever again. read more

What an amazing visit I had. Service was quick. I showed up about 20 min early to my 11:20 am appointment and I was taken in as soon as I checked in. I barely sat down and they called me up right away (there was no one else currently waiting). The lady who assisted me was very professional and kind. I was brought over and got my blood pressure checked right away, then I got my height and weight checked right after. Next up was my blood test . I haven't had blood drawn since I was about 17 (currently 23) and yes I don't like needles. The lady was really nice and sweet and she helped calm me down and get me prepared for the blood work. I pulled my arm back a few times and she assured me everything was going to be okay and it would be quick. And yes it was. I finally let my arm out and within a quick minute she took out the necessary blood and was all done. I barely had any bleeding afterward. I could barely tell where she even poked me. I did a walk in here for a blood test and waited around 30 minutes after checking in in the kiosk. I can see on the TV screen the number of patients (appointments vs walk ins) at all times, so I had a general idea of how long it would take. I saw a lot of people come and go and the staff was generally patient the whole time, despite some people getting a little bit testy. Once it was my turn, I was led to a cubicle and was serviced by Linda who was so gentle and is an absolute sweetheart. I have small veins and usually have issues with getting blood drawn but she did it without a problem. Facility was clean and staff were great -- this may be my go-to center from now on! (Also the location is close to a lot of food and boba places, so that's an added bonus especially if you are fasting) read more

There are people who get their blood work like clockwise and there is me! However, getting my blood draw at Quest made it a lot more enjoyable. I remember Quest being a bit more north on Garfield closer to Mission but I guess they have moved closer to Valley Blvd. I made an appointment because who doesn't love going in and out of places faster. Also, I picked a 9:30 appointment, earlier the better so you won't be starving waiting for your appointment time. Parking was okay but a bit more crowded when all the other buildings are open. I checked in with the nice lady. She was waiting outside and getting all my information before I can head in. Once, she allowed me in, I just scan my appointment bar code through the kiosk and the machine asked me if I would be waiting in the waiting room or in my car. I opted for my car since it was a small waiting room with a couple of people sitting around. After a few minutes, I get a phone call and they assigned me to my room. Blood work was fast and easy. It felt safe with everyone in safety gear and using gloves. I was in and out in no time. read more

One of the staff, the fat lady who can speak Spanish, is super rude, impatient, and unreasonably controlling. I had a terrible glucose test under her "help". (1) In the lobby, we took a photo of just about my bottle of the glucose liquid, in case of an allergy as this was my first time drinking this. She yelled at us and required us to delete the photo like she was the police. Is the bottle considered privacy? Other Quest lab centers are all okay with patients taking photos of the intake liquid! (2) Due to my medical condition, I brought a clean straw which is a way some clinics usually recommended. She refused to allow me try my straw and insisted on requesting me directly drink in front of her. Her reason was "drinking by straw is too slow". Seriously? Finishing within 5 minutes of drinking - does a straw bother you? (2) During the waiting, I found out that I wasn't the only be treated by her without respect. She couldn't listen to people. We could hear she was bitching a lot in the music but her work was much slower compared to the other staff. To avoid her, I requested the other staff to do my blood draw. PS: I think this same employee was also mentioned in the other reviews. She discriminated patients and should not work in health care industry. read more
