Super cute restaurant! Love the flowers and neat set up. The Smashed avocado with sweet potato chips were good, addicting to say the least. The Brussel sprouts were good except the fact that they were incredibly salty. The garden salad was super fresh but needed more vegetables and a variety rather than just lettuce. The egg sandwich was alright, had a great croissant but the egg itself tasted like it had came straight from a microwave. The Caesar salad had a pretty presentation and was simple to eat, yet it was not the traditional salad and there were dill seeds that were very strong. Came here for a work dinner (party of 6) and the place was pretty busy. The bar staff seemed overwhelmed not enough people for patrons and it took awhile to get a drink while we waited for our table to be ready. The service was just okay since our table was in the back corner, we felt overlooked. The worst offense was probably serving multiple bottles of practically room temperature white wine. The lamb and duck dishes were good, but not enough to want to come back here. read more

The staff was warm and welcoming. We got a last minute table - they were gracious and accommodating - and we had the best service and snacks. Delicious warm bread. I think they are baking it there. Don't pass up the avocado and sweet potato chips. The avocado is like guacamole and it's perfectly seasoned. The chips (crisps if you're English) are so crisp and delicious. The sparkling water is from Wales. No Pellegrino FYI The crab toast is so good. But you only get 1. Bummer. Lol. The burger was perfect and a generous size. The grilled shrimp were fresh, cooked well, and served in tons of butter w some toast to soak it up. Not spicy even though menu description might suggest. But probably not the most delicious thing on the menu. The fries (chips if you're looking for them on the menu) are salty and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Yum. The sparkling rosé is not French. Or from California. It's German. Fyi. It's lovely. Not sweet. Not dry. Beautiful color. The fab! After that we got few appetizers like bread and butter, prawn cocktail, elite corona and some fries. We waited about 20 minutes until our server came the first time around (note that the restaurant was almost entirely empty, so the delay was not due to customer saturation). I had to flag down the server in order to get a water refill, only to wait another 10 minutes before she finally brought over the water. What was she doing in the meantime? She was standing there chatting with other employees, cracking jokes, and not doing her job. Lastly, the food was just not worth it. Our filet mignon came COLD. Last time I checked, steak is not meant to be served cold. The squid ink linguini was borderline cold as well, and the clam was overcooked (yet still cold???). I will start by saying as a long time New Yorker, who eats out frequently, I have never written a negative restaurant review. My friend and I ordered the guacamole with chips. Part of the chip was crispy but the rest was hard and congealed, we had to spit it out. Was it stale or not cooked correctly? I spoke to a server, not our waiter, who took it back and eventually we got another order. I did eat the guacamole as I was hungry but the enthusiasm for the dish was gone. My main course was the halibut which was cold, and my friend the t bone lamb, which she struggled to find much meat on. It is a shock to have such an experience in the city, as usually the food in upmarket restaurants is generally very high but not the Queensyard restaurant at Hudson Yards. read more

The restaurant was absolutely not packed (I could see empty tables everywhere but still everything took forever, from water bottles to cocktails, to appetizers. We gave up on ordering 2nds of some of their delicious snacks just because the wait was already absurd. I booked for a birthday celebration and unfortunately that didn't matter. Maybe a little candle on the dessert? A little note card? A little verbal acknowledgment? Why even bother asking if it's a special occasion? The staff was still very polite, welcoming and happy to serve you but I would have loved to have been surprised with a nice warm touch. Maybe the abuse of the system from entitled people asking for free stuff caused this cold approach but nevertheless made the occasion feel unimportant. I've eaten at Queenyard twice. I'm hooked. The first time I arrived I had no reservations. No problem, we got a table in the lounge area and had a wonderful meal. Tonight I went on my own. This time I made a reservation and got a table in the dining area overlooking the Vessel. The meal was wonderful each time! Had filet mignon well done. It was silky smooth. Delicious! And, the bread, oh my! Fresh and fabulous! The potato, celeriac & sweet potato gratin is a creative dish! Enjoyed the chardonnay, but liked the Sauvignon Blanc even more. Both by the glass. At the end I looked my bill, they charged bread for $3.95. Are we in Italy?? This is America we get bread for free okay ! Finally my pasta arrived. Please look at the picture one. I am usually a customer who is not nip-picky and very easy to stisfy. I usually don't bother writing reviews but I absolutely had to write one this time. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone but someone who likes hideous experience. My family from abroad was visiting New York and I wanted to provide them a great time and nice lunch to remember. After viewing several reviews by past customers, I reserved a window seat to enjoy the nice view of the vessel. The restaurant was not busy and there were many servers, however, we had to wait for very long time to order our food since our server was gone after he served water. A manager finally came and took our order instead at our inconvenience. After we had our appetizer (mussel was not too bad), we were about to dig in to one of our main dish (risotto). And YUCK!!! We found a huge cockroach sitting right on top of our food!! It was so big that I could not miss it and THANK GOD I did not have a bite out of that dish. I called the server and he took the dish right away without any apology and said he will call his manager. The manager who took our order came by and said they will prepare a new dish for us. I told him I lost my appetite and did not want any food out of their kitchen. Then he offered me his business card (Literally offered, not handing it over to me and asked if I wanted his card. No, usually people make an apology and provide business card to contact and try to please the customer). We stood up to leave the restaurant at once and the manager asked us to comeback anytime for better service. hmm...I DON'T THINK SO. I want to ask him if he ever wants to go back to a restaurant which 1) has cockroach food menu and 2) chef who has no passion to put the best food on the table and servers who are blinded to miss the obvious cockroach sunbathing on the plate. read more
