    Sirloin with potatoes, carrots side
    Fatima H.

The best place to celebrate New Year's Eve. From the minute we walked in, my friend and I were greeted to really friendly and attentive staff that immediately got our coats checked and settled to our table. Our waiter gave great recommendations for drinks so I got the big apple martini and in the cloud while my friend ordered an electric lemon martini and high line rouge. We both agreed the high line was the best out of the 4 for flavor alone. The sirloin was cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor and the potatoes went nicely with it. The potato flatbread and lemon spaghetti were alright, but didn't pack as much flavor as the tofu starter. Best dish we both loved was actually the carrots side because we couldn't get enough of the sauce. Ambiance was great with a little more high end and the views were everything. For sure coming back here!

On an unseasonably warm spring day I was looking for a few things in this area of the city, and Electric Lemon checked off all of the boxes: + Outdoor rooftop + Water views + Spacious and not crowded or too much of a scene but also a good vibe + Walkable to MSG This was a great pick for all of the above and I'm so happy that I came! It's a vibey spot in Manhattan so drinks are very steep, as expected. A glass of wine or a draft beer will run you around $20. But, the views are beautiful and it's a really nice spot to post up when the weather is right.

Amazing view. Drinks were on point. The couches and seating areas were comfy. The service was excellente. Must stop here when in NYC. This place is definitely an upscale cocktail bar.

New-Fashioned Deviled Crab - very good

Food was better than expected, but expectation was low after reading the reviews. Objectively speaking though, dinner was pretty good. The deviled crab was my favorite - super fresh and had great texture. The octopus was also good - the aleppo oil/sauce was an interesting touch. The sirloin was cooked perfectly, though a tad fat for my taste. The mushroom pasta was very disappointing... the ingredients just didn't come together. Could've been something creamy and saucy, but this wasn't it. The In the Cloud cocktail was so pretty and interesting, not to mention delicious - highly recommend! We sat outside in a rare warm evening, and the views and ambiance were great.

Rindo Rindo - very good mezcal based drink!

Came back for lunch a few times. The little gem salad with salmon is pretty good - I was happy the salmon was not overdone, but note on weekends, they cannot add a protein to your salad for some reason. The fries are also super good. Service continues to be atrocious - our water glasses were empty all day and we could never flag down a waiter.

What a wonderful experience. This has to be one of the best views in nyc. One of the best restaurants with a view and intricate architecture that features photo ops at every turn...making it a standout spot for both dining and taking in the scenery. Also perfect for those Instagram-worthy shots. It's definitely an influencer haven, but also a place where you can casually sip on a drink and soak in the vibes without any pressure. The dishes are on the pricier side but truly elegant in flavor and presentation. While I wouldn't necessarily return just for the food, I'd definitely come back for the drinks and the overall atmosphere. The first time I came here was for a Valentine's Day special 5 dining course in which I tried oysters for the first time, that had caviar on it. Very fancy indeed for my first time haha. But I did determine oysters still aren't my thing. Maybe only if I could have it as a delicacy like that again. Be mindful that securing a reservation can be tricky, especially depending on the time and day, but it's totally worth it for the elegant, bold environment that keeps you lingering a little longer than planned.

It's my go-to for rooftop season, great drinks, and beautiful views. The cocktail list is varied with boozy, sweet, and perfectly balanced options. Golden Hour is my favorite. Don't let the beets scare you, as the flavors come together in this smoky, slightly sweet way that just works. They have plenty of food options and, more importantly for me, plenty of vegetarian options. I have had the lemon spaghetti and the tofu, and I never leave without ordering the polenta fries. The lemon spaghetti is a good portion, cooked nicely in a light, creamy lemon sauce. The tofu is good when you mix all the sauces together, as the tofu itself is not seasoned but really comes together with the sauce and vegetables. The polenta fries are soft on the inside but lightly toasted on the outside, with great flavors and textures. Similar to the drinks, they are all solid options, but admittedly I come here mostly for the vibes. The service is consistently good as well. I need to make time to dine in.

The ambiance is Sexy; the food was delicious & drinks on point. Our waiter Kenneth saved the day because the hostess was not the nicest... needless to say, I shall be back!

Ambiance and service was phenomenal. The view was gorgeous and let's not forget the chicken decore. We got mimosas, expresso martini, breakfast sammies, burger and crab cakes. The only thing i cared for was the amazing burger that was seasoned well and their crispy double coated fries. It was simply dressed but delicious.

Sencha Tea Pot - Potentially reused tea bag as the quality of the tea was watered despite so many leaves being used.
    Jason T.

Brunch Option! Electric lemon was incredibly disappointing. Venue looks great, and decor is upscale dining. Known more for their Garden and dinner dining. They have a very small bar with a fireplace on the right side. First offense is the tea, it was extremely watered down and I suspected the teabag might have been reused because the pot wasn't that big. You can even tell from the picture it was watered down. Also it had a funky taste which could be the water they used. AVOID, $7 could be spent on anything else. Another issue is when I ordered the eggs benedict and ordered the smashed and fried fingerling potatoes. I don't have a picture of the side BUT the waiter did not bother to tell us the fingerlings were already included in the eggs benedict! We told them it was our first time too. You also get the same sauce that was incredibly bland. Just no flavor to the potatoes that felt like it was reheated. Eggs benedict was good but the wait staff was speed walking. Rushed to our table and the presentation of the eggs benedict was ruined. Would be fine if it was a diner but this isn't. Presentation of the food and the experience of a quality establishment were NOT here. The ONLY item worth getting was the pretzel bagel bomb, that was where I saw Electric Lemon shine. It was new, packed with flavor, and incredibly delicious. If you are here to try, get that at least. The benedict flavor was good but nothing special. Sandwich was really nothing special either. It was okay and I feel like you can get better. Issue is that you have to rate this place on a higher scale for what they want to offer / present. If it was a diner no problem, but it isn't. Will be going back to try the dinner, but personally was not really worth the hype. Let's see how dinner does.

This was a Really good Electric Lemon cheeseburger

I saved Electric Lemon for my final meal while in the city, and it would be appropriate to say that I saved the best for last.* Hostess Kristel (I'm so sorry if I butchered the spelling) remembered me from the previous evening when I stopped by for an inquiry, and I was seated in the dining area facing the outside doors when I requested somewhere on the quiet side. Of course this didn't last but I was grateful for one of the end seats anyway, and since it was well after 1p, it wasn't too crowded. I pretty much knew I wanted the Electric Lemon Cheeseburger, and although I have seen this photographed with Polenta Fries (an additional $12), I stuck with the regular ones that come with it. I opted for the horseradish aioli on the side. Dealing with a couple of servers, my initial one was a little hard to find but another came by to take my delayed drink order of Passion Spice (non-alcoholic), and we ended up having a nice conversation about the city. This burger was REALLY GOOD. Prepared just how I wanted, cut in half, I savored this for a while. I had to smile when the couple next to me placed their order...for two burgers as well after checking mine out. The drink was okay; I could have probably just done a ginger ale and been fine with that but I just felt this burger needed a good beverage to go with it. Fries were the same shoestring fries I had from room service the night prior, and I utilized the ketchup and a little of the aioli. Service was very good; especially the busboys, who were very pleasant and were prompt with removal of items and refilling water. Every night of my stay, this place was packed; I recall looking over the restaurant from the hotel lobby seeing all tables full, so I know they are doing very well. Being under the Starr Restaurant Group certainly doesn't hurt either, as they know how to do things right. Even though they dominate Philadelphia, they certainly don't slack here, and New York City isn't easy to impress. If you don't want a burger, they have plenty of other items, most of them leaning on the healthy side which I tend to avoid, but I'm here to tell you that burger was worthy. *okay, my best and only cheeseburger this trip, that is, but one well worth returning for!

So torn on how to review this place so let's start with the highlights Food: pretty good but nothing outstanding Price: typical for a rooftop, didn't feel too overpriced Views: astonishing, it was a beautiful sunset Now let's talk about the people who work here and the service provided... They let you pay on a QR code and that's fine but my friend and I, the only brown people in sight, were chased down to show our codes when no one else was. It was embarrassing to say the least. But we still had a dinner reservation so we stayed. Cue the server who kept telling us we had to order food... like ok? Yes? We made a reservation? We know? And then completely ignoring us until the manager came to help us out. He saved the night for my friend who was celebrating her birthday but the rest of the staff made for such an unpleasant night. By the end of the night we had spent close to 500 each and for the treatment we received, I don't think I would go back even if this place truly is beautiful

"Bougie" as my 21 yo daughter called it. Upstairs in the "famous" Equinox hotel and gym. Fabulous cocktails, a vibrant crowd (in typical winter black) entertaining staff, DELICIOUS not pretentious menu (try the crab appetizer). We came here largely for the rooftop views but the outdoor terrace was strangely closed. I've been to plenty of rooftop bars that have heaters and are still open for cocktails, so that's why we lost a star. Our reservation was for dinner in the lounge, but be forewarned, the lounge tables and chairs are super low to the ground; Being 5'10 and 5'8, we felt like Alice in Wonderland balance on mushrooms! Our seater graciously found us a respectable table in the dining room. Very fun festive establishment, young, seemingly professional crowd as you clearly need to be established or out for a special occasion to not let the prices be an issue. Close to the Vessel and the high line if you're in that area.

Ask the Community - Electric Lemon

Are reservations necessary on a weekday lunch?

I wouldn't think so, I think the tough reservation is the rooftop in the summer.

    Is this 21+?

Hello - What is the dress code for electric lemon? Seen a couple posts say "Business Casual" but also seen pictures of people in sneakers, are sneakers allowed?

I wore a long jersey maxi dress with sneakers and didn't feel out of place.

    Is this place Kid friendly?

I would say no based on the atmosphere

Do they allow xtra people at your table on the terrace after making a reservation for a table of 5?

No, I don't believe so. If you're looking to be seated and served, you need to have the entire party there present and can't have extra people.

Is there a spending limit on terrace for table of 5?

When I went there (party of 2) nobody mentioned a spending limit for me. I specifically asked for a table on the terrace at the time I made a reservation.

    Is the terrace opened yet?

No they are renovating and during the winter the winds are too strong at such a high floor

I want to reserve for indoor dining but can I still visit the outdoor terrace to look around?

Hi Jenny. Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, our terrace is completely closed. We are busy working on exciting renovations for next season! We hope this helps!

Do I need reservations if we are just going for drinks?

Hi Susan. Thanks for your interest in Electric Lemon. The bar itself is first come, first serve. However, bar seating is limited and it is seated service only at the bar so reservations are always strongly encouraged. If you are planning to visit… Read more

Are dogs permitted on the terrace outside?

Only animals registered with hotel guests are allowed in the building and on the terrace.

Will you be open Monday Sept 6 on Labor Day?

    Yes

How do we make a reservation for two for outdoor terrace dining? The only options I see in Resy are dining room and lounge? Does the latter mean indoor or outdoor lounge?

You have to be ready to book at 11am when the reservations open a month in advance, they're usually gone in the first 30 mins

What is the best place to sit when having dinner for two people?

Hi. On a nice sunny day/warm evening definitely request table outside on their terrace! It's beautiful!!!!!

Do you need a reservation for drinks?

Hi there! Yes, you can make a reservation here - https://resy.com/cities/ny/electric-lemon - we look forward to seeing you soon!

Hi, do you have outdoor seating?

Thank you for your inquiry. We plan to reopen the terrace later this month. Please look for availability on Resy.

Can you get food at the bar?

Yes the Bar is available for walk-ins and is full service.

Are reservations required for just drinks?

Just drinks are available at the bar for walkins. However the restaurant takes reservations for the bar tables and outdoor lounge areas.

What is the difference between lounge and dining room when making a dinner reservation? We want to be able to see the view while we eat.

Indoor lounge features couches and other low seating with coffee tables, while the Dining room has a standard table and chairs setup. Both have views of the lower Manhattan skyline. (Only the terrace has views of the Hudson.)

Are tiny dogs allowed in the restaurant?

Both failed epically. The bone marrow was inedible as it was like cold custard. Escargot had zero flavor and a real lack of garlic and good butter. Tasted more like vegetable oil than good butter. We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

Wow, such a treat to experience!…read more We were welcomed a bit earlier than anticipated than our arrival time and was a nice gesture. I've never been to a formal tea before so was a super nice treat for me. Started with a glass of champagne and followed by great recommendations for tea (which is not my jam) and was a perfect pairing. We had the Spring Afternoon Tea which was an assortment of finger sandwiches, desserts and clotted cream and preserves. The staff and recommendations were remarkable and if ever in the area would love to come back and share the experience with family and friends!

Tea? Here? Think again.... After much thought, I booked…read moreafternoon tea at The Whitby Hotel to celebrate my niece's college graduation. It was supposed to be a memorable milestone, but it turned out to be a massive, incredibly disappointing letdown. The issues began the moment we arrived. The host stand claimed I hadn't booked afternoon tea and had only reserved a standard table in the hotel bar. This was completely false, and I had to pull out my phone to show them both my text and email confirmations. Rather than apologizing, they offered absolutely no accommodation for their mistake until I actively asked for it. Their excuse? They claimed this "has happened before" with their reservation platform--an embarrassing admission for a luxury establishment. Next, they told us they were entirely out of tea sandwiches. I had to ask them to double-check. When the host returned, they magically found the sandwiches but claimed the tea room was completely full. We were instead shoved into a cramped bar corner right next to the service door, the cashier stand, and the station where the bar staff collected all the dirty dishes. To add insult to injury, when I walked past the actual tea room an hour later, it was two-thirds empty. The service itself was nonexistent. Our tea was abruptly plopped onto the table by a bar staffer who didn't say a single word and left. Thirty minutes later, the sandwiches were plopped down in the exact same dismissive manner, without any explanation of what was being served. I eventually had to ask the hostess for information, and she retrieved a tea room staff member to explain the menu. After that brief interaction, we received absolutely no other service except for water. To top it all off, management clearly does not care that our experience was so bad. The manager kept using the dismissive, canned phrase: "I'm sorry that your experience wasn't what you expected." I had to correct him more than once--this wasn't a matter of unmet "expectations," it was a matter of not getting what I paid for. I paid $433.00 for a premium afternoon tea experience and received bottom-tier service in a noisy dish-clearing corner. If The Whitby Hotel cannot handle basic hospitality, reservation logistics, or genuine customer service, they shouldn't offer afternoon tea at all. Avoid this place if you are looking to celebrate a special milestone.

Hands down the best restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had…read more We wanted to treat ourselves for our anniversary, and I had recently watched their Bon Appétit behind-the-scenes video. Their entire operation seemed so incredibly focused, meticulous, and inspiring that we knew we had to try it. We started with the Iberico ham and the hiramasa tart, both incredible. Then came the chilled lobster, which was super fresh and refreshing, served with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate clean. Every dish felt refined without being overly complicated. The service was extraordinary. You can immediately tell the front-of-house team is operating at an extremely high level and is aware of everything happening in the room at all times. At one point, my wife stepped away to use the restroom just as they were about to serve the first course. Without saying a word or making anything awkward, the staff simply looped around a couple of times until she returned. The moment she sat down, they resumed service seamlessly without missing a beat. That level of awareness and professionalism really stood out to us. Next came the rye bread, which was fresh and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, paired with delicious butter. Then we had the sea bass with crab, which was phenomenal and one of my favorite dishes of the night. But the true star of the show for me was the lamb. My wife and I grill lamb racks often, and I genuinely had no idea this level of perfection existed. It was cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. If I was not in public, I probably would have been scraping the bone clean :) Big shoutout to one of the staff members, Stephanie, who completely made our night. We were telling her how excited we were to finally visit after watching the Bon Appétit video, and she casually asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchen after dinner. Honestly, I thought she was joking at first. Then she came back after dessert and reminded us. Even after paying the bill, I still thought maybe she was kidding, but then she walked over smiling and said, "Let's go." My wife and I were completely geeked out. Seeing the kitchen in person was surreal. It was exactly like the video: super meticulous, orders being called out and repeated in unison, everyone moving with total precision and purpose. You could see the Omega clock, the Michelin stars on the wall, and just the overall culture of excellence behind everything they do. We were honestly in awe. Thank you again, Stephanie. That experience meant so much to us. Every time we visit a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion, I always wonder whether it will truly live up to the hype. Some completely miss the mark. Some are very good. But none have delivered on every aspect the way The Modern did. This is officially our favorite restaurant in the world.

This spot is alllll about the shareable items…read more We visited for Mother's Day brunch and the restaurant was packed! However, we were greeted warmly and a server was with us very quickly. They did however seat us at a table that was directly in the way of a lot of movement through the restaurant. Many waiters found themselves squeezing between our table and another to attend to other tables. Some were carrying very heavy looking trays. Beyond that, we had a blast. We ordered the butter service, which was super fun! The waiters make a whole show of it, seasoning the butter at the table, talking it up a bit, and then allowing us to go to town. The added shallots on top bring an extra hit of umami. The chorizo spread was a little grainy for me, but others at the table were going for seconds and thirds. I especially enjoyed the marinated leeks and the eggplant dip it was also served with. Our entrees were a little underwhelming. We ordered the lobster frites and the french onion soup burger. The burger wasn't overtly French oniony. It was just a solidly good burger. The lobster was delicious, but not anything I am continuing to think about. What I am still thinking about though, are the creme brulees! We ordered the corn creme brulee for a side. It was sweet and salty, with a great crack and chew to the top. I also loved the espresso creme brulee for dessert, which also had a nice light saltiness to it. We also got the spicy orange carrots which were totally delicious. In addition to the espresso creme brulee, we also ordered the lemon ice cream cake. It was bright and refreshing. The only downsides were the wait for the desserts. The wait was so long that our waiter insisted that they would be comped for our inconvenience. However, they were still on the bill at the end of the meal. He did remove them immediately when we pointed them out, though. And finally, coat check accidentally gave our Mother's Day bouquet of flowers to the wrong mom! We wound up with a much prettier bunch, but lost our balloon as part of the switch. Oh well! Next time, we'll definitely be ordering the brulees and I'll be damned if I leave without having their french onion soup!

I am writing to share some constructive feedback regarding a recent dinner at Quality Bistro…read more Having been a loyal patron of Quality Meats and Quality Italian for many years, I was eager to experience your take on the French bistro concept. While there were highlights to the evening, several aspects of the experience did not meet the high standards I have come to associate with the Quality Branded family. First, I must address a significant comfort issue two weeks ago. Our group was seated in one of the large booths, and we found that the cushions were so soft that we sank down uncomfortably low. It was quite awkward to dine when several guests could barely see over the top of the table. For a restaurant of this caliber, guest ergonomics are essential, and I would strongly encourage looking into firmer seating support for those booths. Regarding the menu, we found the oysters to be a bit of a letdown for the $5 price point. The citrus toppings were so heavy-handed that they completely overwhelmed the natural flavor of the oyster. Additionally, as a long-time fan of Quality Meats, I found the steak to be lacking in both presentation and precise execution. I had hoped for a dish that mirrored the excellence of your sister properties, but this fell short of expectations. On a more positive note, your staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. We also thoroughly enjoyed the bread and butter cart; the butter was truly lovely and stands up well against international varieties I have tried. Furthermore, your desserts are stunning and were the highlight of our meal. I share this because I truly enjoy your restaurant group and would love to see Quality Bistro refine these details to match the world-class experience of your other locations and competitive locations in the neighborhood. I look forward to returning in the future to see how the space evolves.
