So far the best Chinese food we've had in Corvallis. Yummy sesame chicken.

I may have slightly higher standards since I am from the SF Bay Area. However, after seeing some good things online, I decided to give them a try. I am only giving them 3 stars because I didn't have much of a chance to try food. For their prices, I was expecting something a lot better. When I am sick, my absolute favorite thing to have is wor wonton soup. I gave them a call asking if I could make an order to go. They said yes. I asked if they had wor wonton soup. THE PERSON ON THE PHONE HAD NEVER HEARD OF WOR WONTON SOUP. I said "you know, wonton soup with vegetables and meat and shrimp and stuff in it?" And the person on the phone was like "...uh, we don't have that, but we have wonton soup with vegetables in it." I said that's fine I will take an order to go. Being sick I drove down there , got my soup, then got home. I was rather disappointed. I was expecting soup broth with some simple vegetables like broccoli, celery, carrot, mushroom, etc. However, it was chicken broth, a few leaves of lettuce (iceberg I think) and like 5 slices of mushroom. I was sick and hadn't eaten all day so it was still welcomed food, but something as simple as wonton soup should not be an unknown concept in a Chinese restaurant. Coming from a diverse place, it was surprising to walk into a Chinese restaurant and see only white folks working there, and only white folks eating there. An old tip I got from a chinese friend of mine: if you want good Chinese food, look for Chinese people eating there. If there are lots of Chinese it's probably good. No Chinese, probably pretty fake. In short, I might give it another try for simple stuff like fried rice. But I don't expect any culinary masterpieces to be coming out of a kitchen where wor wonton has never been mentioned. I give 3 stars because I don't want to judge a whole place off of it's soup alone. read more

Why is it called queens chopsticks and had only forks and spoons!!! Over priced....gross food!!!!! Waitress wore perfume and we ended up being nauseous the rest of the day. read more

They changed their walnut prawns to a tempura like batter that is not good! It's not tempura shrimp (love those) and it's not traditional walnut prawns - they were nice when I complained but BEWARE! read more

I may be a little biased since there is sentimental value at this restaurant since it is the first date location for my husband and I. But I really enjoy everything we've had on the menu. General Tso, Kung Pao, Honey walnut prawns, and Pad thai are some of our go to items. Chili paste looks house made and it is amazing! Had the Scallion Pancake the other day and kicked ourselves for not trying it earlier. read more

Good, standard Asian-American fare, including some curries and several vegetarian options. Nice atmosphere. Several smallish tables. Seating for large groups could be difficult without advance notice/reservations. Good sake and local beer selections. Can get busy in the evenings and service slows down a bit. No child changing station in either bathroom. Might be a bit small of a place for young children and toddlers. read more

Highly recommend this Chinese restaurant!! I always come here and order from their original menu, and it's 10x better from the regular menu that they seat you down with. It has more options and it's more traditional. The service was also fast and server was friendly. read more

Just ate from there 2nd time, take out this time, LOVED the lettuce wrapped chicken, lean and mean, excellent spring rools, kids were very happy with chicken fried rice and mandarin chicken, Hubby now knows they mean business when they say spicy :-) Lovely and witty waiters. My first trip to Queen's Chopstick went fairly well, I ordered the Singapore noodles which were fresh and made the way I expected. So I had it in my mind that this was an alright place for Asian-inspired food. My second visit had far worse results. I ordered beef pad thai thinking that it would be classically seasoned with soy sauce, oyster sauce/fish sauce, garnished with peanuts etc. but was served a dish of noodles covered in a ketchup based sauce. This would not have been such a problem if they had specified this on the menu, but there was no indication of this. Not surprisingly, the primary flavor was of ketchup. I was put off from this so only ate about 1/3 of the plate. I did complain but the waitress didn't seem to realize what I was upset about. Yes, I know some sauces include ketchup but I was really disappointed by how they seemed to smother my noodles in it. Not wanting to waste, I packed the rest to take home and reheated the leftovers a day later. Midway through I got a bite of egg shells! Blech! So much for that. After having the worse pad thai ever I am no longer wasting money at Queen's Chopstick (by the way where were my chopsticks?). read more

My husband and I joke that the queen only has one chopstick so she can't bring the food to her mouth. We had wretched food here, and my mother did as well on a separate occasion*. None of us are picky eaters. The hot and sour soup was neither, and a chicken dish was inedible. No more chances. *Update: I asked her again today about this place and she carefully enunciated, "I wish I could describe how bad the food was. The style of Chinese food seems to be a cross between HK and Taiwan. If your interested in a more authentic style, you will need to ask for the "Chinese Menu". I ordered Twice Cooked Pork "Hoi Guo Rou" from the "Chinese Menu". The Pork was from the belly and was cooked correct, instead of the normal leeks, as in a Schezuan style, there was cabbage. It was good, but lacked the "zing" I was looking for in a Schezuan style Twice Cook Pork. The 2nd dish was from normal menu, which was General Tso's Chicken, It came in a pleasant dark spicy sauce, I thought they did really well with this. The prices were about $12.00 a dish, The atmosphere was a little strange, since I was eating there the night before Thanksgiving and they were playing some hip hop on the speakers. For being in Corvallis this is likely one of the better Asian restaurants in town. read more

First of all, I haven't tried other Chinese restaurants in town, so I can't compare it with them. The menu was somewhat americanized, and the price was very high for the kind of food on the menu, but the portion was big. The food tasted better than we expected though. read more

Well we did go back for more - last time it was delicious tho small. This time I thought we got the same thing - Chicken Curry and it was disappointingly not delicious and the sauce was watery, not thick like curry should be. We come often to eat here. Love the freshness and we can afford to bring the whole family here to eat. Great food for a reasonable price. Lunch is our favorite time to come by and eat. There is a great variety of dishes and our girls always leave with full tummies and a doggy bag. We will continue to eat here. read more

Very tasty and enjoyable meal. I had the orange beef and my lunch mate had the chicken lettuce wraps and we shared all that and the appetizer sampler. Everything was good, the orange beef is breaded lightly and fried and has just enough sauce and flavor. The lettuce wraps were well seasoned and the lettuce was very crisp, very well chilled iceberg. The appetizer sampler was quite a sight. It is a sort of tower with a flaming torch kind of thing in the center you use to heat the meat on a skewer. Everything was good on that including the spring roll and BBQ pork which was moist and tender. I would recommend the place and go again myself. read more

I've been to Queen's chopstick about six times and decided it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in Corvallis. The ambiance is good, the food is consistently good, and prices aren't bad. My only complaint is that service can be slow / forgetful at times. read more

Don't be deceived, looks aren't everything. Once you remove the mood lighting and modern dinnerware, all you will be left with is over priced bland food. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes: vegetable lo mein, sesame chicken, and honey prawns with candied walnuts. Both the lo mein and the honey prawns had no flavor. The prawns were over breaded and tasted of rancid oil. The candied walnuts weren't even candied! The lo mein was overcooked and lacked vegetables. The sesame chicken was odd in color with a mediocre flavor. And, just because you garnish with some fresh sesame seeds, a few sprigs of cilantro, a toss of shredded ice berg lettuce, and a cocktail cherry for a dash of color, doesn't mean you can charge next to gourmet prices. For an app, we ordered crab ragoon, which came with four measly pieces for just under $5. On top of all the disappointment, they don't even offer tea. You have to pay $1.50 for a tea bag and some hot water, which they will gladly refill. But then, by your second cup, you are left with next to flavorless hot water. And, how long did we have to wait for this meal...at least 15 minutes! And, it didn't even arrive hot. Will I be coming here again? No. But, if I had to...I would order one of their more authentic options. For they looked, smelt, and sounded slurpely delicious. And everyone who ordered a bowl looked pleasantly pleased. read more

I stopped in for take-out, but did not have a good experience. I ordered two dishes, and asked if they each came with rice. Yes, I was told, rice with each. I paid, and the young woman who took my order said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I stepped out to go to the supermarket net door. I returned after 15 minutes, but nothing was there. 20 minutes. 25 minutes. Lots of food was coming out of the kitchen, but not mine. Finally, i asked a young guy working at the register about my order. He said he would check on it. He went back into the kitchen, came out shortly after, and proceeded to wait on other customers without saying a word to me. Several minutes later, I approached him again and asked about my order. He said something like, "Yeah, I checked on it, but I didn't see it." He then got distracted by something else. Didn't see it? What exactly was that supposed to mean? Did anyone even know about my order? I had no idea. Finally, a bit more than 30 minutes after ordering, another young person came out and handed me my food. "Sorry, but we're busy." I responded politely that, if they are that busy, then they should not have told me my food would be ready in 15 minutes. He said he didn't tell me that, and he blamed on it on the person who took my order. I walked out, and as I did, I noticed that there was only one container of rice in my bag. I returned to ask about it. "Yeah, we put them both in one container. It's a large one." I was frustrated and left. When I got home, I found that the rice container was nowhere near full, and even if it had been, it was not very large, and I can't believe it was the equivalent of two orders of rice. The Homestyle Tofu I ordered was supposed to be fried, but it was quite soft and soggy, barely distinguishable from steamed. The Kung Pao chicken was reasonably flavorful, though the sauce was pretty watery. My sense of this place is that the floor is being run by a group of young people who all mean well, but do not know how to treat customers professionally and deal with a busy restaurant. They need a good manager. I doubt that I'll return. read more

Ordered food for pickup. Was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. Arrived at the restaurant at the time told and paid the bill. Told it would be another 15 minutes. Waited patiently at the restaurant for 30 minutes and was finally told they lost my order and that it would be another 15 minutes to redo the whole order. After 5 minutes of confusion from the hostess/waitress, I was told the hang up was because they ran out of sweet and sour pork and if I wanted sweet and sour chicken instead. In total 60 minutes for a pickup order. The result...food was cold except for the sweet and sour chicken! read more

Yep, still one of our favorite places to eat! We get take away often. Chicken and rice soup is nice and soothing, now my go-to soup if I'm not feeling well. Veggie fried rice is delish! Mandarin chicken as well. Yum! read more

This place is a hit or miss for me. The food is great. Broccoli chicken is great! However, the service can be slow and people of asian decent seem to get served 2x faster than others. They even get a different menu! It's kind of weird. Take out is the best way to go. I think they give you more food that way. read more

The Queen's Chopstick has pretty authentic Chinese food and serves a delicious (and inexpensive) warm sake. Their decor wasn't the worst I have seen in a Chinese restaurant and the service was very friendly. So far, it is the best Chinese we have had in Corvallis. read more

The service is good here and I really enjoy the decor of the restaurant. The food is pretty undesirable now though. We have gone 3 times now and the rice is always cooked unevenly and they absolutely have no idea how to cook tofu. The tofu is always mushy and undercooked and tastes terrible. The only thing I really enjoy about this restaurant is the Hot and Sour soup. I will never eat at this place again. read more

I got take out today from here and it was by far the worst Pad Thai of my life!! It had zero flavor except for the huge amount of spice when I asked for mild. I also ordered chicken but the meat tasted super fishy. I ended up throwing most of it away. I don't know about the rest of the menu but never order Pad Thai here. read more

Service was attentive and they got the order right, but: the spring rolls were greasy and flavorless, the sweet and sour chicken was a little chicken and a lot of greasy breading. The pad tai was better, but still just average and nowhere near the caliber of Kim Hoas or the Woodsman. If you go, figure out what the hot pot menu items are. Alright service and good food. Went in during a lunch rush on my birthday. Happy that there were lunch options and not only family style servings. Seated promptly, but took some time to be serviced. Liked the different Asian influence in foods. They don't just target one region. The Bottom Line: Queen's Chopstick is a good value, but only during lunch hours (not weekend). Also, if you get a dish you don't like, try at least one other-- the only time I did not like the food, it was only from my dish choice and not knowing what it was I was actually ordering. The Good: The food is pretty good, and the service ranges between better-than-average and great depending on the day. The serving sizes are appropriate, and the menu has enough variety. The Bad: During the weekend and dinner hours, it was overpriced. Way overpriced. I will never make that mistake again-- a waste of an extra $8 than I would have paid by just eating there one meal earlier. read more

The flavor of some dishes really reminded me my hometown, the most authentic Chinese food I've ever taste here.

First time in tonight, we liked it. Brought my 6 and 7 year old to try Chinese for their first time and even they liked it. Fast, friendly service. Only down side was my son wanted chocolate milk and they don't have that but that's not a deal breaker for us :) read more
