I had high hopes for Queen's Chopstick, but was disappointed. I got the General Tso's chicken and fried rice. Although the chicken to batter ratio was perfect and the portion was large, the chicken itself was dry and surrounded by soggy breading. The fried rice had only egg and the broccoli that came with the chicken was under seasoned and cold. For the price of the meal, it was below the quality I was expecting. Queen's Chopstick has become a regular favorite in my household. This is hands-down the best Chinese food/ Asian fusion, for a reasonable price, that I've found in town. The staff knows us by sight now. The dumplings are delicious. The sesame chicken is insanely good-- the best I've had, anywhere, ever. I ordered some of their "chicken and rice" soup once when I was sick and in a bind, and to my pleasant surprise, it was incredibly light and delicious and hit the spot! nice! this is just what corvallis needs! after living here all through my youth and college years, this is a step up from the usual king tin or the now defunct fung's. dishes were fresh and presented very nicely and the restaurant was very clean and well-lit. after browsing the standard menu and not finding much that interested me, except the house noodle soup, our server suggested the "eastern fare" menu--which was sort of a chef's list written in chinese on an old bill. refreshing to have lightly fried soft tofu, sauteed veggies and salt-pepper head on shrimp in this town. also nice that they don't use the same brown sauce all the time. the three specialty dishes were priced a little higher than the standard fare, and higher in comparison to other restaurants (probably all those big prawns), but were definitely quality. recommended! read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go here because every time we pass by here, it's pretty crowded. When my boyfriend and I arrived there for dinner last night, we had to wait for a little bit to get seated. The place is pretty crowded with little seating, so it's best not to bring big parties here. There isn't a lot of walking space between the tables either. We decided to order the Thai Tea, Bo Bo Tray, Pad Thai, and the General Tsao chicken. I got my Thai Tea and there wasn't enough Thai Tea. It was mainly creamer or whatever they added in, so I was pretty disappointed. Then we got the Bo Bo Tray and the tray was pretty unique. There was a thing of coal in the middle where you could warm up the meats. Overall, the Bo Bo Tray was a good pick. That was the best dish of all that we ordered. We waited awhile for the rest of the food to come out and then we found out that they didn't even receive our order. Our waitress offered us free drinks on the house so my boyfriend got soda and I just got some juice. Our Thai Tea ended up being on the house also. The General Tsao chicken was okay. The Pad Thai was missing an ingredient. I couldn't put my finger on what it was missing. I ended up bringing most of the food home because we were so full. When I got home and ate the Pad Thai later, I decided to put more fish sauce in it and add more lime. At the restaurant, we weren't given enough lime and the lime was old. Overall, the place was okay but I'm not sure if we would go back. read more

This place has a variety of Asian foods, so it's not just Chinese. Our table had the "healthy" lettuce cups, honey walnut prawns, and the happy family. The food starting coming out about 5 minutes after we ordered, never a good sign, as it indicates reheating rather than actual cooking to order. The lettuce cups were very greasy, like dripping down your hand greasy. And calling it healthy just because it contains lettuce is really a stretch. The meat was crispy, probably deep fried, and the whole dish was too salty. The happy family tasted funky, like too much bamboo shoot sitting around too long, the beef was chewy, and the seafood tasted off. The honey walnut prawns were super sweet and again, the seafood was funky. The rice was not fresh, the taste and texture was that of old rice that was reheated, probably in a microwave. Not acceptable at any restaurant, let alone an Asian one. I won't go back. read more

The hot and sour soup was barely hot (in flavor), the curry was watery thin and weak tasting, and the pad thai was certainly the blandest I have ever had. Usually Chinese restaurants err in the opposite direction with overly salty sauces, MSG laden dishes, and things that are too spicy. This place is great. The ambiance and decor is modern; light and airy- not the red vinyl schlocky stuff of many Chinese restaurants. The food is excellent. It's slightly more upscale than you might expect, but not snobby. Vegetarians will have plenty of options. The standard dishes are excellent, but as another reviewer pointed out, straying from the specials is where its at. I fail to understand how some reviewers gave this place one star. Oh. A waitress wore perfume, rendering one reviewer 'nauseous for the rest of the day'. What a pup. This is easily the best Chinese place in Corvallis, and most probably the Willamette valley. read more

This is honestly the best Chinese/Asian Fusion I have ever had. The mandarin chicken is amazing. Crispy white chicken perfectly seasoned! All of the soups are delicious as well. Very friendly staff. My wife was never a big fan of Chinese food and now she requests Queen's Chopstick at least twice a week, which, is awesome for me because before this I had to talk her into getting Chinese food! Ordered takeout and food was ready to pickup in 20 mins. My husband brought it home and it was still steaming hot with humongous portions and flavor. We got house lo mein, general tsao's chicken, wonton soup, & crab rangoons. It was enough to easily feed four people. Best wonton soup I've ever had! Only downside is they give you a pretty small portion of rice with your entree. It wasn't enough for the amount of chicken. Overall, we were very impressed and will definitely order again! read more

Experience proves that one can have both a good meal and quality service at Queen's, but both the food and the service are spotty, at best. About half the time one or the other is sub par and when it's an off night for both the kitchen and servers it makes for a REALLY poor experience. My spouse and I went to dinner at Queen's early last Saturday evening. It was clear they were under-staffed and we waited for 30 minutes to have our order taken. The food was brought to our table spread over a 15 minute period -- first the lukewarm Singapore Noodles, then an equally lukewarm bowl of bland hot and sour soup that we had to ask for again when it was clear it was missed on the order, and that followed by a plate of the most overcooked, heavily salted General Tso's Chicken I've ever experienced. Of course the server never stopped to so much as fill our water or check if everything was alright until they brought the bill. When I quietly and politely shared our assessment of the meal the server apologized sincerely, but never offered to address our concern in any way. No offer to replace a dish with something else, to comp part of the meal or even to talk to the manager. Just an apology and a bill. At that point we paid the bill with $0 tip and left. Hard to tell when/if we'll be returning. There are too many other options in town for reasonable Chinese food to put up with the gambling experience that Queen's provides. read more

This place is awful! When we arrived, we were given two menus: one with Chinese favors and one with white people favors. We ordered off the Chinese menu. The dishes were not flavored well, and most in my party left with stomach aches. Everything we ordered had hardly any meat - mostly onions, green peppers, or the like. So, we ended up paying about $13-15 per plate of onions with a few shrimp or pieces of beef. We asked for extra rice, and it was $1.25 per small scoop. Since when is white rice as expensive as gold? If we would've known, we wouldn't have ordered it. When the bill came, the waitress agreed with our outrage, but the manager's response was, "too bad, the price is on the menu." Another issue was the service. We received one cup of water, no refills. The staff was either far away or absent, so there wasn't even anyone to ask. I would never return. They only get one star because I can't figure out how to give zero stars, and because our waitress was very polite. read more

On a sterling recommendation , we decided to try this new place. We opted for takeout, and got four dishes; BBQ Pork, Sesame Chicken, Garlic Eggplant, and White Rice. Queen's Chopstick may be one of the few Asian restaurants that doesn't know how to make rice; it was lumpy and utterly tasteless. And they had the nerve to make the rice a $2.00 option. The BBQ pork appetizer was pretty good, with a nice flavor of 5-spice powder, but overpriced at $6.50 for a couple ounces of meat. The Sesame Chicken was pink, which made for a strange presentation. The meat was slimy and not easily recognizable as chicken, being more like mystery meat, and utterly tasteless. It was a good-sized portion of chicken, but there were literally fewer than 10 snow peas in the dish. Had we eaten in the restaurant, we would have sent it back. The garlic eggplant was actually pretty good with well-rounded flavor and just the right touch of heat. We will not be going back to this place, as it appears to be hit-or-miss in the taste department. Perhaps better that other Asian fare in Corvallis, but that's not saying a whole lot. read more

The city of Corvallis had no good Chinese restaurants, even though there is a large community from Southeast Asia. That is, until Queen's Chopsticks opened its doors. When looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Corvallis I came across Queen's Chopsticks and they had most of everything I was looking for, and more. I wanted something reasonably priced, clean, and healthy food, with a friendly atmosphere, and speedy and friendly service. Queen's Chopsticks lived up to my expectations since the first time I went there. The service was speedy and the servers were friendly college students. I enjoyed their conversations and their recommended dishes and they were very helpful. Sometimes the manager also comes and visits with his customers, which was very nice and personable of him. It made the whole experience even better. The dishes are all very good and portion sizes are perfect. You can get two dishes to share for a family of three and be full at the end of the meal. My favorite dish is their Sesame Chicken. This dish is located on the Chef's Special section of the menu and I would recommend it to anyone. The way they display the food is very unique and clean. I think that the way a restaurant displays their food adds to the customers experience and Queen's Chopsticks does a great job. I recently learned that they have two types of menus. They have a normal menu with many different choices that is given to most customers, and they also have a traditional menu that most international student customers from China use to select items. I think this allows them cater to different customers and make them feel at home. Also, whenever I have been to Queen's Chopsticks it is always busy! This helps the atmosphere become lively and friendly. Who knows you might just find a friend having a meal there. Most of the customers are locals with large representation of international students. Their prices are reasonable for any type of customer, including college students. The prices vary from $10 to $15, with the exception of appetizers. This allows a family to get the entire meal for around $30. I think that is that is better than most of the restaurants of its type. The restaurant itself is very clean which has made my experience exceptionally better. We have all been to restaurants that have good food but the restaurant itself is dirty. This is not the case with Queen's Chopsticks! There is nothing broken or rundown and the floors are vacuumed and tables are clean, and the turnaround after a customer leaves is fast so the table is ready for the next customer almost immediately. Queen's Chopstick is not just a Chinese restaurant, it also have a little taste of Asia in their menu. I think I would categorize this restaurant as a Chinese fusion restaurant. Being at a central location adds to the publicity of this restaurant. I have found myself eating a meal there and then walking over to WinCo to do my shopping. Another attraction for students is that it is open until 11:00 p.m. Most restaurants in this small town close early and you are limited to places to eat late at night. Although there are some things this restaurant does not have such as delivery it is still worth the money. They do, however, offer takeout but you will need to pick it up. By adding delivery some day they can widen their customers and have more publicity. I have not noticed anything like a special of the day, nor have I asked about it, but that is something I can be added to the menu. They do have a Chef's Special section in menu; although it is not a huge section, it adds to the adventure of trying new dishes. Queen's Chopsticks is a sit-down restaurant in Northwest Corvallis. There are a few other Chinese restaurants in town, which may be favored by customers because of home delivery, cheaper prices for students on a college budget, or being closer to campus. However, there is still no comparison of Queen's Chopsticks to those restaurants in terms of quality of food, which is healthier, tastier and better at Queen's. Chopsticks. I believe that it is better to spend a little extra to have an enjoyable meal. Even compared to good restaurants of a different category, such as Thai restaurant, Queen's Chopsticks it quite competitive. The wait time in many of those restaurants is long and they are more expensive. Also, the service is far better at Queen's Chopsticks and the people are more personable. Another plus for Queen's Chopsticks is that one does not need to make reservations; typically, there is a spot available for you. I have gone to Queen's Chopsticks a number of times with family or friends. I am always pleased and hands down it is one of my favorite oriental restaurants in Corvallis and by far the best Chinese restaurant in town. It is a family run restaurant that makes it quite personable and fun to visit. read more

I've been going to Queen's Chopstick since the first week that it opened. I remember the service being very lacking, and it's only slightly improved. There are not many stellar Chinese restaurants in Corvallis, but this one is slightly better than the others in terms of food. There are many healthy choices along with the usually American style fried Chinese choices on the menu. I usually order the Pan Fried Noodles Cantonese Style. However, their service is still lacking and I order food to go due to this reason. Yet that isn't always a guarantee. They have messed up my orders several times. It's just really frustrating dealing them since none of the servers are ever apologetic about it. They act like it was my fault for not including cashews in their cashew chicken dish or forgetting to include steamed rice. I know people make mistakes, but it would be nice of them to offer an apology and maybe some kinda discount. However, like many restaurants in this town, they don't seem to give any care. I will still probably go back since it's close to where I live, but it does leave me wanting more. read more

Never again. A friend and I ordered chicken noodle soup. I asked the server if it was udon noodles to which she said, yes. I asked for xtra spicy w/ garlic. 15 minutes later server came to say it would be $3xtra per bowl for specialty noodle. I didn't think I had ordered "specialty noodles". I said to give me whatever noodles it typically was. When it came the broth looked like clear water. There was no spice or garlic. Worst of all it tasted exactly like WATER. Neither of us could eat it. I asked the server to have the chef taste it. She came back to say the chef told her that only kids order the chicken noodle soup and that's why they make it mild. What??? Campbell's Chicken Noodle is 5* next to theirs. Save your money... read more

My girlfriend and I ate here the other day and I actually enjoyed my meal. I had spicy general tso's chicken. After dinner we went and saw a movie and by the time we had got home I was feeling horrible. My stomach was making the loudest noises I had ever heard and was insanely cramped. I got my first case of food poisoning from this restaurant and it was literally the worst night of my life. I tried to sleep through it and about 10 minutes after i fell asleep I woke up with the insane urge to vomit. After the initial throw up i threw up every 15 minutes violently for 12 hours straight, even when there was nothing to throw up anymore. Most of the time I had to be on the toilet when I was puking to keep from going in my pants. I was drenched in sweat and have never felt worse in my life. I was finally able to fall asleep after 12 or 13 of nonstop vomiting and diarrhea. I wasn't able to eat anything for the next two days or so and I had very little energy. This was a horrible experience and I hope no one else has to go through this. read more
