This is the most delicious food in Salem this time. Such a cute authentic place to get Korean food. They were friendly, nice and welcoming. Dinner started with their PA JUN. I ordered their combo dinner of KALBI & DOLSOT BIBIMBOP with chicken. It came with all the the accoutrement. This was so fresh, stayed hot my entire meal and even ended with some fresh and sweet watermelon. Top tier! I would not dare pass this place up if looking for a spot to eat in Salem. It is within walking distance from the Salem convention center.
This was such a fun experience!! We got a salmon roll to start, the short rib bibimbap combo, and the bulgogi bibimbap combo! They also gave us a lot of sides that were complimentary (kimchi, bean sprouts, green beans) and also their green onion pancake thing, and watermelon at the very end! The bibimbap in my opinion was not seasoned that much and kinda felt a bit flavorless but it still had a lot of good content. The bulgogi and little rib things were very very good. The service was nice and the ambiance felt like a cute mom and pop shop!
Really enjoyed my experience at Happy Bibimbap House! The service was friendly and decently fast, and the food had that comforting, home-cooked Korean meal feeling--it honestly felt like a warm hug. The dolsot bibimbap came out to the table still crackling, creating that delicious crispy layer of rice on the bottom. That's exactly how I like my bibimbap! The side dishes were also a great addition and really completed the meal, adding different flavors and textures that paired perfectly with the bibimbap. The jajangmyeon was also really good. The sauce was flavorful and the noodles were nice and chewy, making it a really satisfying dish. Overall, everything felt comforting, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Definitely a place I'd come back to!
I came with several family members on a weekend afternoon for a quick lunch. The interior was comforting and welcoming. We were quickly seated and our orders were taken. I got the dol sot bibimbap which was yummy especially with the gochujang sauce. Everything was also very well priced. Overall, we had a great experience and will be back next time we're in the area!
I love the location and the outdoor seating is so nice on this day but we sat inside. The service was really attentive the food was good too. Enjoyed my meal. If you dont want to cook your dish this is the place. They also serve sushi and it was ok the salmon.
Excellent Korean food. Staff is very friendly and attentive. When you walk in you can sense they have authentic Korean food. There are plenty of tables inside, and when we went at 7:30pm they seated us right away. I ordered the bibimbap with beef, and then the bulgogi & bibimbap. Both were really flavorful, and delicious. It was a good amount of food overall, I just wish there was more beef because it felt like there was very little. They even gave us complimentary appetizer and watermelon at the end. You truly can't go wrong eating here, highly recommend.

The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and the service is very friendly and fast. My daughter and I ordered a bulgogi tray and a bibimbap, respectively, and we were both very happy with our meals. There is street parking as well as a smallish parking lot, and plenty of seating inside.
Hidden gem! I stopped by this place after a long drive from California, and the food just hits the soul. The staff and owner were warm and attentive, and it felt like I was walking into my parent's or relative's home for dinner. I got the combo soondoboo and boiled mackerel, and my girlfriend got the samgyetang (chicken soup). I love mackerel for its rich and fatty taste, and it did not disappoint. The outside was crispy, while the inside was moist and soft. Just be careful eating if you are not used to eating fish with bones growing up. Soondoboo goes well with it to cut the fat, and the flavor and mild spice really helps to pick you up after a long day. I tried some of the chicken soup, and it is one of the best ones I had. I do not find many places that make this, but when I do, I have to try it. I believe this version uses a cornish hen, which is richer and more delicate (tender when cooked) compared to chicken. The ginger and herbs give it earthiness, and the jujube adds a bit of sweetness. Overall, it is a complex and savory soup that you have to try. Also, the owner supports and feeds the homeless. How awesome is that! Wish I could give this place more stars, and I definitely will be back in the future.

Happy Bibimbap house is great!! We came with friends and were greeted at the door by the owner with a big smile, the staff was so friendly! It's a nice, casual restaurant with some booths, tables with chairs and a bit of outside seating. There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant. The food tasted so fresh and amazing, their kimchi is delicious. I got the Dolsot Bibimbap with chicken, the flavor was delicious and I loved the crispy rice! Great prices and portion sizes! Highly reccomend supporting this business
Came across this place while looking for local favorites, I wanted to support them since I saw a review that they are family owned and that they close once a week to feed the homeless. Upon arriving, it felt like stepping into someone's home. My husband and I both ordered the beef dolsot bibimbap and barley tea. The bibimbap was perfectly portioned, and served sizzling hot. You get to adjust the gochujang which I think a lot of people appreciate. The radish kimchi pairs so well with the bibimbap! Service was good too even though the place was almost packed. Definitely will be coming back :) PS there's parking right in front of the restaurant with a meter nearby.

We stopped in here for lunch (2 adults 2 kids) on a Friday a little after 1pm and it was busy! It got busier after we waited about 5 mins for a table. Plenty of street parking available and the storefront had lovely plants at the entrance. Walking in felt a little crowded and awkward because of the small entryway. But it did look like they have a few booths, tables, window seating, and even a bigger private room in the back. The lunch specials were $9.99 which was an amazing value for sure! I got the Happy Bimbim Bap with chicken and my hubby got the Spicy Pork Bento Box (the bigger one for $15) The friendly staff set up our table and gave us all hot and freshly made green onion pancakes which was a nice touch! (Although it was a little too oily) Our food came out super fast - within 10 minutes of ordering?! The kids and I enjoyed all the veggies and egg for my bimbim bap but the chicken were cut until small pieces were just ok. My husband did enjoy his Spicy Pork with a good amount of spice (they asked him if he wanted spicy) and came with potstickers, California rolls, rice, and a side salad. My daughter actually really loved the green bean banchan and the daikon and kimchi were super delicious too! The owner came to our table to say hi to the kids and each table got watermelon as dessert (the Asian way!) She was so nice and offered extra watermelon for the kids if they wanted it. It also looked like they do a lot of local community work with the homeless and were super involved in providing food to those that need it. Such a lovely local restaurant. Went here recently with our daughter and we each got a different bento box. I honestly can't remember which three we ordered, but mine was SO good! The meat was incredibly flavorful, and everything else in the box was delicious too. I've always loved bento boxes because they feel like the perfect portions of a little bit of everything. They also bring out several complimentary little side dishes at the beginning, which is such a nice touch. I added pictures because, of course, I can't remember exactly what everything was called! And I have to mention the people who work here, they are SO nice. Like genuinely, incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. I think this was only my second time here since moving to Salem three years ago, and I'm not sure why we don't come more often. Definitely going back! read more

I was very impressed by this place. I ordered it for lunch today through Uber and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to go back for dinner! For lunch I ordered the Bulgogi combo plate so that I could try a couple things there. Now I don't know if this is how they normally deliver their takeout orders but it definitely elevated my first impression. See attached photo. My order came with Pajeon or Korean scallion pancakes. I am half Korean and my mom made different variations of Korean pancakes a lot when I was younger and I really like them. They are basic but I still love them so I was really happy to see them included because there was no indication of that on Uber Eats. Another thing I did not see on the app was the mandu / gyoza and it was very good. Again, a wonderful bonus for me. They also included banchan, I got cabbage, kimchi, shredded radish kimchi, and bean sprouts, which were all very good. The kimchi was especially yummy, some of the best I've had from a restaurant. I prefer fresher kimchi as opposed to sour and this was not sour at all so this might not be to everyone's liking but I ate every bit of it. The Bulgogi was not tough at all and had great flavor and was not overrun by vegetables like you'd see in some places. So fast-forward to dinner time, I decide to drive out there myself and get it to go. I noticed the outdoor seating and It was a nice evening so I chose to eat outside on one of the picnic tables. It was a perfect place to get my work done while enjoying some great food. I was the only person sitting outside and they still came to check on me a few times and made sure everything was good. Just like this afternoon, all of the food was amazing. This time I ordered the kalbi combo plate. As you can see, I started eating before I took the picture and I didn't even include the banchan. It was that good! I did get different side dishes this time. They gave me cauliflower in a white sauce, brussels sprouts, in a mildly sweet brown sauce, cabbage kimchi, and cucumber kimchi. Everything was great, but I wasn't a huge fan of the cucumber kimchi. Mostly because I prefer my cucumber kimchi more salty and this one was sweet, so it might be something that you really like, it's just not my preference. They also offered me Korean pancakes before my meal came! The kalbi was awesome. For anyone who has ordered this a few times you know it sometimes can be very chewy and tough. Not here, it was tender and perfectly seasoned. After I was done eating and they cleared my plates, they brought out a plate with a slice of watermelon on it. These little touches make a big difference for me, especially since I eat at Korean restaurants a lot. I will definitely be stopping again on my next trip out here!! I forgot to mention how nice the staff was. I mostly talked with two gentleman and they were both very polite and patient. The one who took my payment when I first came in to order is the one who ended up serving me when I decided to eat there. read more

Decided to try some Korean food while passing through Salem and I'm so glad I did! I came shortly after opening and there were a few people there and was greeted and sat by the window where I could gaze and contemplate. I ordered the Bul Go Gi & Dolsot Bibimbop and it was truly an experience. The banchan was so flavorful and I even got a little scallion pancake appetizer on the house. As the clock approached 12 more and more people started to come. Quickly turning from a little hole in the wall to a bustling thriving spot. If I'm being honest I had low hopes of finding good Korean food in Oregon let alone Salem but I have been astonished by the quality and flavors I have experienced here. I even got a little orange slice with an umbrella after my meal. I know have found a reason to come back to Salem again and it's all due to Happy Bibimbap House. read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We ordered the mackerel, bibimbap with beef, seafood pancake, kalbi, galbitang, Japchae, and everything was delicious! Staff were friendly and even the owner comes out to check on us (and other customers) to see if everything is ok. The ambiance is really nice too, it gives you a feeling of eating at an authentic Korean restaurant. It was so delicious we decided to order for take out as well. We would definitely go back if we're ever in the area again! read more

Ok, the service is good except these people kept looking at my mom, I get she's pretty but stop. FOOD WAS SO GOOD!!!! The owners came in and i understand them because i speak some korean. Everyone's so nice and it's so clean and they even give you free watermelon in the end and in the beginning some egg wrap! FOR FREE! read more

OMG! The food was great as usual. I don't want to get anyone in trouble but the first waitress we had could maybe use a little help with her customer service skills. Even just a smile goes a long ways. I know it's a difficult job but we didn't feel like we were welcomed. She gave us what we asked for and got the orders right, I guess I would have liked just a little enthusiasm. She took our order but then a young man finished up and he was very nice. All the food was delicious .. I hate writing this. read more

I called to get the daily special posted on the website - this one is my favorite. I was told they are no longer doing the daily special! So disappointed - i wonder why they haven't taken the daily specials off their website? Went elsewhere
With being limited to 25% capacity during this public health crisis, I would imagine that adding another discount on top of reducing customer volume by 75% would not be healthy business-wise.
