The queen is friendly and can cook. There is a truck that has every brand of sauce and condiment on them. I can still do it tomorrow with the smoked food this dude has stockpiled.

My son and I were in town on our way to Houston. We were over at the Superdome and happened to see the Queen on Wheel's food truck. To our delight we met Mr William the proprietor. A nicer man you will not meet. He was such a gentleman and a magnificent chef. He prepared for us the 2 best burgers we'd ever had (The Superdome Special), French fries and homemade Cole slaw. All 3 items hit the mark. The Cole Slaw was spot on....I loved it. If you are in New Orleans and see the Queen on Wheel's, make a stop...you won't be sorry.

The fried shrimp was very good. The fries could have used some salt and been hotter. Croutons were off the chain.

Parked in front of the Entergy building at lunch time today. Delicious!! Best value ever. Got the special, which consisted of two, not one, two grilled pork chops and a quarter chicken (I opted for dark meat), white beans and rice with sausage, and four buttery Texas toast points. All for the low, low price of $10. What?! Three big pieces of meat for $10? How does he make a profit? I probably shouldn't care. Don't walk, run. Everything was on point. The meat was flavorful and had that just grilled char taste. The beans were seasoned well and the rice as it should be. And the toatexas toast added a nice touch. Not just great on quantity, but quality too. In addition, the owner was very pleasant, and gave out huge samples of the food before buying. Ive never seen a food truck do that. He stands by his product. Also, his homemade bbq sauce is great too.

Ok let's start off by saying this has to be one of the best food trucks and New Orleans. The amount of food you get and the taste of the food Queen on Wheels provides it's a no brainer that you must try them. They know they are so good that they provided free samples of there food before you order. Today I had the BBQ Country Ribs and the White Beans and rice. There is so much food on the plate for $10.00 that I could only eat a small portion of a rib and beans. I can eat lunch and dinner off of the plates Queen's provide. Once you meet the cook and see how friendly he is and the love he has for cooking food for people you will see why he gives out so much food on your plate. Also try the hamburger special. Two people can share one burger and be stuffed for the rest of the day.

Great food truck serving up awesome barbecue at reasonable prices. I ordered the smoked sausage poboy and it was huge!! He also let me try his burger which was juicy and thick. The fries were crispy and the chicken looked really good too. They do not no the meaning of portion control here. It is go big or go home at this food truck. I hear his ribs are good, as well as his pork chops. If you are not in the mood for pork, they have chicken, all beef burgers, and seafood. They travel all over the city and have a Facebook page so you can keep up with where they'll be. Try them out if you see them.

Gretna food truck fest...queen on wheels

I have seen Queen on Wheels on the road, but never had the chance to try it until today at the Gretna Food Truck Fest. The sausage links they grill are massive! I decided on the fried shrimp which were well seasoned, but the bbq sauce stole the show. It is homemade, so I don't have an ingredient list. Sweet, vinegary, and a bit of a kick at the end. If you get the smoked sausage or the link sausage poor boy, get the bbq sauce!

I love this truck! The owner is a super good and honest guy. The food is always great. I have tried almost everything on the menu, but he does usually have some sort of special going on. The 1st time I ate here the portion was so big that it turned into 3 meals, and trust me, I can eat a lot. I would totally recommend queen on wheels!

The best lunch choice!! Overwhelming amount. The flavor is also good. I prefer chicken. Crispy outside and tender and juicy inside. I swear I will try all they have on the menu. Sorry I didn't take picture at the first minute. Please ignore the bone I left. There were two pork steaks and one huge chicken leg on the left.

Quality has gone down. Today fried fish and beans were nasty. Fish was old. We all threw it out. It'll be awhile before we try them again.

Between my partner and I, we didn't spend more than $30 in this place. This place is super low-key; no expectations of dressing fancy one bit. It's the kind of spot that you'd go into after a long night of partying, ready to end the night with a juicy burger with crispy fries, topped with ice cold beverages. If you can squeeze in a moment to order from their grill, I promise you won't be disappointed!

This past week we visited and we could both tell right away things were different. The inside of the restaurant was filthy and I mean filthy. You could see the floor under the bar and in the kitchen hadn't been cleaned in months. The fryers hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Everything just looked dirty and like no effort is put into cleaning and maintenance. We decided to eat anyway which was a mistake. We love their burgers that are cooked and steamed old school. We both ordered one. My wife ordered hers with bacon, which they charge over 3 bucks for. We both ordered our burger dressed with all the fixings. When my wife's burger came out it had no bacon and no fixings. I told the waiter and he said he would handled it. He never did as he started doing other orders. My burger had no flavor and it looked like the person that made it didn't care , which goes along with the restaurant cleanness. One thing that really turned us off was the was other guest were treated by staff. The "cook" was completely pissed off and had a horrible attitude. A group came in looking for a table and there wasn't room. He yelled at them that there wasn't room. They stood in the entrance area for a few moments and then he yelled at them that they needed to get out of the restaurant and wait outside. He told them this isn't a restroom so don't wait in line. The attitude and distain in his voice was overwhelming. A few minutes later a couple came in and found 2 seats at the bar. They decided to order food to go and was talking to the waiter. One of the 2 people ordering was standing behind the empty bar seat while they ordered. The cook yelled at this person that they needed to sit down. Both customers were stunned. The waiter told the cook they were making an order to go and the cook could be heard muttering under his breath. This little guy was nothing but attitude and seemed extremely pissed off the there. Maybe instead of being the restaurant traffic cop and total smart ass he should concentrate on getting orders straight since ours was screwed up and never fixed. Whatever charm this place had is gone along with the any effort to keep it up to clean standards.

Turtle Bay -- 4…read more Listen... this is MY spot. One of my favorite places and honestly one of the only places I'll sit down and eat in the French Quarter. I've been coming here for about 6 or 7 years now, and they are easily in my top three. The vibe? Dive bar, laid back, no fuss... but the FOOD? Don't sleep on it. Their menu is solid and I still haven't made it through everything yet. I've had the wings, which we actually got this visit but ate them so fast we didn't even get a picture. That should tell you enough right there. I've had the pizza, and my husband usually goes for a burger. Never any complaints. They've got plenty on tap and the drinks hit too. I love a good Electric Lemonade, but this time I kept it simple with an Angry Orchard. Now let's talk about what keeps me coming back... The steak. We got our old faithful, one of their signature steaks, the 10oz petite ribeye. This is exactly what made me fall in love with Turtle Bay in the first place. Normally it's around $13.95, comes with a twice stuffed potato and a slice of garlic bread. A DEAL. This time it was a little higher, but still under $15, which honestly is still more than fair with how prices are these days. And when I say it be hitting... it be hitting. Only reason this visit didn't get a full 5 stars? My steak was cooked a little over my liking. I usually go for medium, and this one leaned more done than I prefer. Not horrible, just not my usual perfection. But everything else? Still solid. The staff is always nice, always welcoming. I've never had a bad experience with them, and that matters. And I already know I'm coming back because I keep hearing the crawfish is FIRE. Yeah... I need to see that for myself. This is my happy place. Open 24/7, consistent, affordable, and just a real gem in the French Quarter. The Bay is Babe. Period.

The staff was a big rough around the edges. I inquired about their buffalo burger by asking if their buffalo sauce was traditional (buttery) or just hot (like Texas Pete). Our server/bartender proceeded to go off that it wasn't fancy, that this was a dive bar, and it's hot buffalo sauce, etc. All I asked for was clarification and trust me- I wasn't expecting something fancy by the look of the place. Again, it's a dive. I ordered the burger anyways. When asked what temp I said medium rare. The burger came out well done (pictured) but at that point I didn't even care and just ate it because I didn't want to deal with the attitude the staff had. Prices were reasonable. The rest of the table had mixed reviews about the food. The pork bbq sandwich my friend got (the sub looking photograph) was VERY good and probably best thing any of us ordered.

New Orleans version of a NY bodega is where I found one of the best and most adorable shrimp po'boys. You'll have to put these directions into your phone, because the location is in the depths of the neighborhood district. It's walkable to and from the popular Canal Street, just much quieter and secluded. You won't be able to park on this particular street, but near by areas would allow for street parking. This is in fact a grocery store with a hot food market setup in the back. I was pleasantly greeted immediately as I entered by a gentleman stocking, and a nice lady behind the register. I immediately darted to the back of the store and saw the setup, simple with a bit of updated technology. You can order and pay at a tablet style screen, and wait for the magic to be made on the other side. It took about 5 minutes and I got a text my order was ready, the same gentleman who was stocking called out my name from the back and handed me a 12 inch shrimp po'boy for 12.00. This sandwich was incredible, loaded with crispy fried shrimp and fresh lettuce. The bun was soft and very fresh, I added extra pickles for an acidic flavor breakup to the fried fish and dough. The flavors were on point, very seasoned and perfectly cooked shrimp. I was very impressed by the price and quality....not to mention customer service. Pro Tip: My van driver mentioned to me before dropping me off at the hotel, a lot of people walk Burbon Street and turn around when it becomes residential. But there is actually a ton of life and experiences to be had off the beaten path, both local and authentic.
