Clyde, by the way, is the dog. The owner is a human, and he happens to be the most generous host i've had in NOLA. We got the debris Po'boy's and it was 15/10, had a million poboy's and this brisket is BOMB Don't skip on this new establishment!!!!

The food was incredible, the view from the balcony was super fun, but the service was above and beyond.

Excellent !!! Ingredients are super fresh and the chef is passionate about the food. Fries are double fried and very good. I added a house BBQ sauce that really pulled it all together. Would be a great choice to help with sobering one up from all the shenanigans in the area. The bar is a bit small, but has tables for eating and a dive-like vibe.

Food and service were great and we got to meet the famous Clyde himself. You likely would keep walking and not think I need to stop here and eat, stop here and eat. If you are looking for a dive bar with good service, great food and a dog that the bar is named after - this is your place. Seriously though the debris po boy rivals any you'll find in New Orleans.

first night in NOLA, stumbled upon this bar with my boyfriend... sat at the bar top and had great conversation and service from the owner :) ordered the Debris Po Boy... YUM!!! and 10/10 recommended the beignet shot. Thanks Bo :)

Between my partner and I, we didn't spend more than $30 in this place. This place is super low-key; no expectations of dressing fancy one bit. This past week we visited and we could both tell right away things were different. The inside of the restaurant was filthy and I mean filthy. You could see the floor under the bar and in the kitchen hadn't been cleaned in months. The fryers hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Everything just looked dirty and like no effort is put into cleaning and maintenance. We decided to eat anyway which was a mistake. We love their burgers that are cooked and steamed old school. We both ordered one. My wife ordered hers with bacon, which they charge over 3 bucks for. We both ordered our burger dressed with all the fixings. When my wife's burger came out it had no bacon and no fixings. I told the waiter and he said he would handled it. He never did as he started doing other orders. My burger had no flavor and it looked like the person that made it didn't care , which goes along with the restaurant cleanness. One thing that really turned us off was the was other guest were treated by staff. The "cook" was completely pissed off and had a horrible attitude. A group came in looking for a table and there wasn't room. He yelled at them that there wasn't room. They stood in the entrance area for a few moments and then he yelled at them that they needed to get out of the restaurant and wait outside. He told them this isn't a restroom so don't wait in line. The attitude and distain in his voice was overwhelming. A few minutes later a couple came in and found 2 seats at the bar. They decided to order food to go and was talking to the waiter. One of the 2 people ordering was standing behind the empty bar seat while they ordered. The cook yelled at this person that they needed to sit down. Both customers were stunned. The waiter told the cook they were making an order to go and the cook could be heard muttering under his breath. This little guy was nothing but attitude and seemed extremely pissed off the there. Maybe instead of being the restaurant traffic cop and total smart ass he should concentrate on getting orders straight since ours was screwed up and never fixed. Whatever charm this place had is gone along with the any effort to keep it up to clean standards.

Turtle Bay -- 4…read more Listen... this is MY spot. One of my favorite places and honestly one of the only places I'll sit down and eat in the French Quarter. I've been coming here for about 6 or 7 years now, and they are easily in my top three. The vibe? Dive bar, laid back, no fuss... but the FOOD? Don't sleep on it. Their menu is solid and I still haven't made it through everything yet. I've had the wings, which we actually got this visit but ate them so fast we didn't even get a picture. That should tell you enough right there. I've had the pizza, and my husband usually goes for a burger. Never any complaints. They've got plenty on tap and the drinks hit too. I love a good Electric Lemonade, but this time I kept it simple with an Angry Orchard. Now let's talk about what keeps me coming back... The steak. We got our old faithful, one of their signature steaks, the 10oz petite ribeye. This is exactly what made me fall in love with Turtle Bay in the first place. Normally it's around $13.95, comes with a twice stuffed potato and a slice of garlic bread. A DEAL. This time it was a little higher, but still under $15, which honestly is still more than fair with how prices are these days. And when I say it be hitting... it be hitting. Only reason this visit didn't get a full 5 stars? My steak was cooked a little over my liking. I usually go for medium, and this one leaned more done than I prefer. Not horrible, just not my usual perfection. But everything else? Still solid. The staff is always nice, always welcoming. I've never had a bad experience with them, and that matters. And I already know I'm coming back because I keep hearing the crawfish is FIRE. Yeah... I need to see that for myself. This is my happy place. Open 24/7, consistent, affordable, and just a real gem in the French Quarter. The Bay is Babe. Period.

Everything was disrespectfully delicious. Every bite had us questioning our life choices in the best way. By the end of the meal, we were all sleepy and completely defeated by how good the food was. The staff was on point, courteous, and polite. Our food came out hot, fast, and perfectly plated with consistency that never misses. We ordered the black-eyed pea chili and the muffuletta, and the sandwich completely stole the show. The bread was perfectly soft, and you can really taste the difference in quality with their in-house meats. The olive salad tied the whole thing together, complementing the rich, savory flavors perfectly. That being said, the space gets extremely crowded on busy days. It's tight enough that you'll likely have people bumping into your chair or brushing past you while you eat and walk through the dining room. The biggest downside was the service at the counter. The line to the cashiers was very disorganized. Instead of calling the next person in line, one cashier was pulling people up at random, which made the ordering process frustrating. Overall, the food is fantastic, but be prepared for chaotic crowds and a messy ordering system during peak hours.

New Orleans version of a NY bodega is where I found one of the best and most adorable shrimp po'boys. You'll have to put these directions into your phone, because the location is in the depths of the neighborhood district. It's walkable to and from the popular Canal Street, just much quieter and secluded. You won't be able to park on this particular street, but near by areas would allow for street parking. This is in fact a grocery store with a hot food market setup in the back. I was pleasantly greeted immediately as I entered by a gentleman stocking, and a nice lady behind the register. I immediately darted to the back of the store and saw the setup, simple with a bit of updated technology. You can order and pay at a tablet style screen, and wait for the magic to be made on the other side. It took about 5 minutes and I got a text my order was ready, the same gentleman who was stocking called out my name from the back and handed me a 12 inch shrimp po'boy for 12.00. This sandwich was incredible, loaded with crispy fried shrimp and fresh lettuce. The bun was soft and very fresh, I added extra pickles for an acidic flavor breakup to the fried fish and dough. The flavors were on point, very seasoned and perfectly cooked shrimp. I was very impressed by the price and quality....not to mention customer service. Pro Tip: My van driver mentioned to me before dropping me off at the hotel, a lot of people walk Burbon Street and turn around when it becomes residential. But there is actually a ton of life and experiences to be had off the beaten path, both local and authentic.

Entering through the tunnel you get the sense that you're stepping into a place you shouldn't really be and Sylvain seems to accentuate that with this secretive environment that feels almost like a cocktail lounge. The service was fantastic with the hostess seating us for our reservation right away and the waiter being incredibly patient and helpful during our dinner. We had someone in our party love the playlist here so much they asked the bartender for it as well. The menu is bold and complex but they were happy to strip it back to basics if needed. It was extremely cold in the restaurant though, so make sure to dress warm, especially in the colder months. We ordered their cast iron cornbread, chicken sandwich (no pickles or hot sauce), and their special of the night which was a pork-veal mix sausage on a milk bread bun and topped with sauerkraut. The cornbread was dry but the flavor was good. The butter they gave with it had cajun spices infused and gave it a nice zip although it was a bit too salty. Their fried chicken sandwich was delicious, light and crispy with salty shoestring fries that hit the mark. Lastly, their house special of the sausage was great. The sausage itself was well seasoned and the bun was soft and sweet. It was a bit salty with the added sauerkraut but the mix of flavors was still delicious. We also ordered a drink, just erotic not kinky, which was delicious. It's a bourbon with blackberry and lemon juice that was strong and refreshing at the same time. Sylvain is a culinary delight surrounded by an area that demands it. The food could be a tick better but it is still very, very good with fantastic service to bolster it. Whether you want a casual dinner or to drink cocktails in the French Quarter, this is a spot that is worth a look and your money, especially if you're with a big party.
