I had an unpleasant experience at this nail salon today. When I arrived, I asked the front desk if I could get a pedicure. There were two technicians available -- a gentleman and an older lady. I've been serviced by both before, and I prefer the gentleman because he's more gentle, while the older lady accidentally cut my toe in the past. I told the front desk that I would like to wait for the gentleman to finish his current client so I could be serviced by him. I waited for about an hour, and then I noticed the front desk lady speaking to the staff in another language. Shortly after, the gentleman finished with his client and then left the salon. The older lady then gestured for me to take a seat, but I explained again that I was waiting for the gentleman. The front desk lady told me that he had gone home and that if I didn't want to be serviced by the older lady, I would not be serviced at all. I politely declined, thanked them, and left. This was by far one of the most unprofessional and disappointing experiences I've had at a nail salon. The lack of communication and courtesy from the front desk was unacceptable. I've given Queen Nail several chances, but after this third negative experience, I feel it's necessary to speak up. I called ahead to ask about coming in around 1:30 PM and was told no appointment was needed--just to come in. I arrived on time, picked my polish, and waited patiently. When I finally sat down, I explained to the nail tech that a previous professional had advised me to replace the acrylic due to cracking. Instead of hearing me out or simply checking my nails, she immediately dismissed me and said, "you should go back to them then." Let me be clear: the salon I went to previously was out of state while I was on a business trip. That response wasn't just unhelpful--it was flat-out disrespectful, especially considering how often Black women like myself frequent this salon and keep their business running. For a tech to so casually suggest I go elsewhere, without offering a solution or showing any professional courtesy, was insulting. This isn't the first time I've felt uncomfortable or undervalued here, but it will definitely be the last. What made it even clearer was walking right around the corner to another salon, where I was welcomed warmly, listened to with care, and received excellent service. They heard my concerns, offered solutions without attitude, and treated me like a valued client--exactly what I expect when spending my money. If you're going to profit off the loyalty of Black women, then at the very least, we deserve to be treated with respect. There are too many talented and professional techs out there who know how to provide both good service and dignity. I won't be returning to Queen Nail. read more

Came as a walk-in with my mom on Christmas Eve wanting last minute cute nails for the holidays. The spot itself looked like a typical old nail salon. Smelled like really strong nail polish and acetone. Not the nicest looking, but i wasn't gonna judge a book from its cover. They told us it would be 20-30 minute wait, but we ended up getting a spot in less than 20. I gave some inspo pics of what I wanted and Nini did such a great job! She was very thorough on cleaning around and shaping my nails, and also did well on the design. I liked that they had the UV light on both left and right sides of the table so both hands can set in. Very efficient! It came out to be $70 (without tip) for both my mom's and my set. Both gel too so it was pretty worth it imo read more

This place is really close to my house. They accept walk-in's and they're VERY reasonably priced. I got a basic mani & pedi with a French tip on my toes. I didn't get gel so I can't speak to that service or quality. But I will say they cleaned my nails sooooo nicely. They got every hang nail and my hands looked so clean after. My pedicure was really good too. This place is well priced, they work quick and the quality is REALLY good. This is exactly what I need for my busy schedule since I can just drop in when I have time. This wasn't a spa experience and I knew that going in. But it's definitely a gem and if you're looking for the basics done right come here!! read more

first of all, i am 26 years old. i have been coming here since i was 14!! over the years i have witnessed many customers be treated unfairly and MANY times i have witnessed customers saying things along the lines of "i have been coming here for years and this is how i am treated!?" or "you treat your customers like shit!" MANY times and i always had a bad feeling in regards to their service and just hoped it would be me one day...to the point where i completely stopped getting other services here about 6 years ago and i would only come for eyebrows because i didn't trust others (she was doing my eyebrows after bad experiences since i was 14!). their service was always usually hit or miss, the energy might be off (they might just stare at you when you walk in...), or you may be greeted with smiles and laughter... after coming for eyebrow appointments more than 10 years one day i called and set an appointment' like i usually do..."hello! do you have time for eyebrows in 10 minutes?" they replied yes and usual and i arrived..after i arrived there was another lady whom wanted to do a walk in for EYELASH EXTENSIONS. although i had called prior, checked in, and waited patiently, to my surprise she pulled the lady in front of me and without any words to me began starting the woman's lash set... i questioned her and she did not respond...i questioned her once more and she muttered under her breath...i just stormed out. definitely the end of an era for methis is just ONE negative experience since 2014...don't waste your time and i wouldn't spend my money here...tired of us wasting our money and loyalty on those whom completely disregard our existence! spend your money else where!! read more

This was my third time I made an appt. The lady literally was not shaking my toe nails so I'm explaining to her like this toe is still sharp. The lady doing my hands goes she don't understand so I say okay can you pls explain she's not filling my toe nail she goes she's not done and I'm like yes she was and feel here it's still very sharp. Amazing. Sweetest, down to earth people, hard working, artist! They are so amazing here they have regulars that come from places like Antioch because that's how great the service is at Queen Nails. Was visiting from out of town and will definitely be coming back to this place when I'm in the area. The girl that did my Mani/Pedi was amazing. She was able to use her power tool to get off existing gel instead of soaking in acetone and she also used a special power tool to smooth out the bottom of my feet and they are smoother than I have ever felt before. Omg! This place is literally the beeeest. They really take the time to make a full set look peeeerfect. Every time. I used to always ask for the guy who works there (a true perfectionist) but one time he was busy, so the woman who works there did mine, and she is just as good! And it is a great deal! With tip I spend $40 for a full set with gel. I try to only go here, and every time I chance another shop I regret it and It breaks the bank. Please don't be confused by their cold demeanor when you first go in, I have found that in Vietnamese culture they don't pretend to act like they are having a great time at work, or they are happy to see another customer, like we Americans are trained to do and have come to expect from customer service. But once you get talking to them the people here are super sweet and down to earth, and truly lovely. Also it helps to make an appointment as they are very busy. Sometimes they can fit you in but usually not. There are only 2 nail techs here as far as I can tell. The other woman who is often sitting idle does waxing etc. Hope this helps! read more

So I've come here a few times and typically like the work they do overall. I only come for pedicures and my first time coming Andy was the person who did my pedicure and I was pleased. However, twice now I've had a woman who acts as if she'd rather be somewhere else. Just so much attitude, not engaging or hell even pleasant. Trust me, I don't expect to be buddies but at the same time you're not doing me a favor, I am paying you for a service. I can't stand the arrogance of some salon service workers. I am very pleasant with everyone but I'm starting to feel at some of these shops they act as if you NEED them more than the opposite. I live in the SF Bay Area and one thing we are not lacking is Nail Shops! Decent work but attitude adjustments needed all around. I have however kept coming here for my eyebrows. Apparently, they just checked my 10 month old review, because when I went to get my eyebrows done today I was asked to leave. Let me break down the scene: Walked in, no one spoke. No one greeted me. 10-15 minutes later, the eyebrow technician walked up to me with a grin on her face and her phone in hand. Is this you? I was helped right away, the issue was fixed in a flash and nobody can tell the difference. They did a great job on the color and got the shape squared away nicely. I'm pretty happy with the results, and I love the fun look they did. Edit: this place has become my regular go to spot and I've been able to do some fun looks. I have been coming here for over 4 years to get my eyebrows done. My lil sis and mother come more frequently than I do. But when I do come I make sure I come when they first open so I won't have to wait . The owners wife I believe her name is Lonnie has a bad attitude towards people of color, but I always give her the benefit of doubt. On two occasions she gave me a really hard time about my eyebrows . One day on my way home from work I had foundation on my face, I made sure I wiped the foundation off around my eyebrows with make up wipes so I can get them wax. When I arrived she told me to sit and the eyebrow chair and I told her I had foundation on my face but not around my eyebrows . And she refused to wax my eyebrows because she said I have makeup on my face and I told her again I have no makeup around my eyebrows and then she insisted on me going to the sink to wash my face I wiped my entire face at the sink just because I really wanted my eyebrows done. It made me feel so uncomfortable and another customer who was there getting her nails done ended up leaving who was surprised at what she was doing. Second incident was today she told me she wouldn't wax my eyebrows because I had a red pimple on my eyebrow I told her my eyebrow is red because I had a hat on that's why my eyebrows was red. But she still refused again and said I'm not waxing some of the eyebrow because you have a red pimple. I attach a photo of the end result of her work . I have no red skin as you can see. And she did a half ass job. I shouldn't have to beg a person for there services. I definitely won't be coming here again. If you can't treat people with respect or don't love your job why are you doing a disservice to yourself and your husband? he deserves better and so do the customers. read more

I love this nail shop. I live about 15 minutes away but I drive here to do my nails. I've been coming here with my sisters since we were young. When our mom was alive she was here every 2 weeks. Lonnie is amazing with nails, esp. full sets. She is who I always request to do my nails. She is such a perfectionist, pays attention to the little details and because of that nails are beautiful up close and far away. (Good for us who are super picky) I recommend Cindy for pedicures. I'm seriously challenged in the girl department especially when it comes to stuff like painting my nails, but I'm also cheap and can't stand spending too much on manicures since I need one every week. At Queen Nails II I can get a mani/pedi for $24 or a simple manicure for $10. The prices are cheap but the service is not. They are thorough and take their time to ensure you are happy. The shop is super plain with white walls and those horrible nail posters so don't expect any ambience. They also don't carry many typical salon polishes such as OPI or essie but they do have a wide selection of colors available and they offer nail art. In addition to basic services they do fake nails, eyelashes ($16), and basic waxing. To start, I've had my nails done for years and I'm not one to demand perfection. A decent job and not painful is good enough, you know? I've come here a number of times and was trying to make it my regular place since it's by my work. I got a set last week that was really poorly done (by one of the regulars, not by a new tech.) One day later one nail comes off. I glued it back. The tech fined my nail beds so far that it hurt to have the nails put on. I just dealt with it because I'm not drama like that. I tipped very well (like I always do) and was on my way. No muss, no fuss. Hell, I didn't even complain about the ugly color they mixed on the spot since they didn't have the color I picked. They didn't tell me it was out, but instead mixed me a florescent pink (it was supposed to be mauve, but ok). I went in today to have two new nails glued on. One of her co-workers started work on me, and again, she was hurting my nailbeds so I politely asked her to stop. She said I could wait for the original tech or have them taken off. I asked to have them removed. She sulked then said I still have to have that tech take them off (there were no other customers waiting). Here's what's up--I could have dealt with all that and I was ok doing that. I copped no attitude, was cool, etc. It was when she stalked around shit-talking with the other techs. I realize that she assumed that I couldn't cross the linguistic divide, but there are a few words and phrases I know. At that point, I figured I'd rather walk out with my nails half-off and all jacked-up than deal with a combo of badly done work, ugly polish and ugly behavior when I've been a polite customer. read more

Its hard to concentrate on your postures during yoga when your pedicure is so long overdue. I broke ties with my other shop due to a bad pedicure, but I hadn't found a replacement, and I NEEDED a pedicure bad. I utilized my resource and came across this place, mind you I had gone around the corner and inquired about a pedicure, but was hit by the toxic fumes and turned around. I read all the reviews for Queen Nails and said what the heck, if something doesn't look right, speak up! I had to point out some misses, but she was cool about it and did like I asked her to. She did a good job, but I'm not sold on making this my new spot for pedicures. I can keep it in mind if I need a polish change or another emergency pedicure. I went here on a recommendation from a friend that said "they are awesome" and the fact that they are open on Sundays. First of all... they were 15 minutes late in opening ... which stunk.. but the other spot I go to on Sundays didn't open for another half hour, so I decided to wait. Second... the guy... was AWFUL. I mean, downright horrid. My nails were a mess... there was a young girl that said she was "filling in for her sister" and she had to fix them. I was there for over 2 hours for a fill and a toe polish change. My nails still don't look "right. He filed them all kind of whacky and we had to shorten them a lot, just to get them to look right. When I was sitting there, a lady walked in and asked for the lady that is normally there. They told her the normal person wouldn't be there until after 1pm but, the guy could do them. She was like "NO WAY.. you really screwed up my nails last time". I texted my friend on the way home and said "ohmygod, this guy was horrible". She responded that she thought she told me to NEVER let the guy do your nails!!! So, from what I know... don't EVER let the guy that works in there touch your hands. I keep hearing the normal lady is great... but, I doubt I'll ever go back to find out. read more
